I was thinking of good reasons that anyone, especially Federer, would intentionally drop sets, and I couldn't come up with anything except when I thought. "Well, the clay court season is coming up, and Lord knows a staple of clay tennis is fitness, fitness, fitness!" With Federer's fitness not being the world's greatest, do any of you think it would be smart of him to drop sets after playing well until the end just to get longer matches and become more match fit before heading to the clay season, where he can pick up a fair amount of points?
