Joe Budden is energetic something different, hes not the greatest just some fun music in a very shitty year in rap music.
Gangstarr the Ownerz is dropping in June also I heard. Should be a nice month for hip hop music. This year has been horrid.
Well, I feel 50 Cent is boring and I don't listen to him. It is all a matter of opinion. MiClub made me SMARTER listening to it because it makes you want to research some of the lines and the background behind them. You don't see that with too many rappers. And I don't find that boring at all. And on tracks like Cenoir Studies and Curriculum 101 it is amazing he can spit so many bars with such an amazing flow and lyrical content. You cannot deny his talent.
50 is fun for some people, commercial as hell with the beats and lyrics though. Canibus is a breath of fresh air.
And with a single out June 24th, an album July 22nd, an American tour, and rumors of him being in the Army, this really is the summer of Bis.
The argument is never going to end. Like SAT and I have said...it's all a matter of opinion and what sounds good to you.
I don't give a shit about Joe Buddens. He is annoying. But I am hyped as hell about that Gang Starr album. Skillz was a very nice single and Premo and Guru always come on point. Should be one of the best of the year if not the past few years.

Yeh some of the songs are pretty chatty, and "make your peace" is the exact same lyrics as "heaven" from the fix.
Theres a nice track with Devin the dude that I heard... "only a mother" And on my grind is good, but not great, and obviously bitch nigga is on there and that not that great either. <- He isn't specific enough.

Canibus is wack.
Gangstarr should be great, hopefully Crooked I will drop a album, the west is dying they need someone to step up.
Jay-Z's Black Album should be great also, maybe he finally drop his classic album. I hear he wants Premo to do the Intro and track #1 on this album. No Timbaland, Neptunes, and Trackmasters should make this a awesome album.

Sorry but 50's music is enjoyable is not boredom at its finest. I listen to other lyrical rappers like Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Common who actually know how to make entertaining songs.

Download "Beasts From The East". Thats Cannibus at his best.
Just heard a new diss track by Crooked I on Snoop Dogg and kinda spits on 50 too. Its over the Ignition remix beat and Crooked flows pretty well over it. Nice diss track.
Also heard a new Daz diss track on Kurupt and Suge. Kinda fucked up the Doggpound beefin now. Its over "In Da Club" beat... some good lyrics but as we all know, beat is way to overplayed.

He said that he used to be Ja's homeboy and they used to chill from time to time when Ja went to his hood. He thought Eminem and 50 Cent flowing over the Hail Mary beat was really disrespectful to Tupac.
He went on to basically say how desrespectful and hypocritical it was of 50 to call Ja a Pac clone while flowing over the Hail Mary beat and stealing the lyrics, lines and flow of Pac and also the chorus of Pac's "Against All Odds".
Then he made the motherfucker of all comments along the lines of if Pac was still alive Ja Rule is the type of cat he'd roll with. Someone recieved a Murder INC backhander.

The reason being if enough people happen to believe the bullshit that Pac would hang with them, then they would appear to have taken his mantle of being the "realest" mutha fucka in rap.
Also, sales generation, etc etc.

Naw man Pac is the greatest, most influential, he dropped 2 argubally 3 classic albums back to back to back. He never fell off. Pac is the greatest emcee of all time, if you mix everything into one he is the best. Not the greatest lyrsict but there are lots of other factors that make a great Mc.

Greatest rapper ever is obviously Ja Rule. I mean...all the facts are there. He is gangsta.
Well...he did rip 50/Shady/Aftermath at least.
-
June 3rd, 2003, 9:00 PM

He did rip 50 yeah. I think Eminem showed when he wants he could easily rip Ja a few hundred assholes and Dre didn't even want any of the beef. As he said, he's old and just wants to make money.

I listened to 50 Cent being interviewed about his beef with Ja Rule. It made me want to slap his face.
Something's going wrong when Ja Rule comes off as a better rapper than you.
-
June 4th, 2003, 7:32 AM
#430
I don't know. Yes, too much of Ja is nothing but a bad thing. But when dude actually does decide to flow and not break up his songs with crooning, he can rhyme.
I am not about to jump on the bandwagon, that I knew would come when 50 blew up, of hating him ever since his album blew the fuck up. But... for the most part Ja Rule did eat his ass during this beef. But to say Rule beat the whole Aftermath camp is wrong, I think. Eminem's songs were superior.
The only good thing to come out of the beef, was Murder Inc aligning with Tha Row, which meant that I got to hear more Crooked I.

I don't hate 50 Cent, I really like his album and his pre-shady records stuff was good too. I just don't like his diss tracks and the fact that he hasn't yet proven how good he is at freestyling or rhyming properly.
I've never been a fan of Ja Rule either, but he seriously tore 50 up on a couple of tapes. He had a nice diss on Eminem too involving Kim and how Hailey will turn out when she's older too.
The track 50 and Em did about Ja not riding with Tupac was shit though, that was pretty ironic too seeing as how Pac probably wouldn't have been riding with them either.
-
June 4th, 2003, 9:26 AM

The Eminem verse on Bang Heads outdid anything Ja Rule had to say really. The Hail Mary diss wan't that great, but I have to admit Eminem flowed really well over it and Busta silenced Ja within his verse, also.
The 50 Cent comment wasn't directed towards yourself. I've just realised the current trend of many hip-hop fans suddenly saying how much they hate him.
In reality, its funny. Most of the people will be the same to boost Canibus at the drop of a hat when he was the dude that was in exactly the same position as 50 Cent a few years ago. The underground king all ready to drop a dope fuckin album... only Canibus fucked up and 50 delivered.
-
June 4th, 2003, 10:11 AM
#433
Ja Rule's disses have been better than 50's, but his recent pop past destroyed any chance of him being considered the better of the two on the streets...same as Nelly killed KRS, but wasn't really recognised. 50 Cent will always come off better against Ja Rule anyway because while Ja Rule has, IMO, ripped 50 so far, Eminem has torn Ja Rule apart on the same stuff. If that makes sense?
-
June 4th, 2003, 10:44 AM

"they claim i rap the rhythm and blues, but when i turn on the radio, i see yall niggaz rappin it too"
EXACTLY. You gotta admit that Ja served them with that line.
-
June 4th, 2003, 11:19 AM
#435
Not especially...50 Cent has one R&B song out (21 Questions), that's all. The rest of his album is pure hip-hop. Not GOOD pure hip-hop, but it's not R&B. Ja Rule's last 2 albums have been R&B, and he's making his living out of R&B tracks.
That's how I see it, but I maintain that as far as the 50/Ja feud goes, Ja is taking 50.
-
June 4th, 2003, 12:00 PM

The Hail Mary diss was the fact that really showed me 50 doesn't really have what it requires to beat Ja. The whole verse had Pac puking his guts up.

50 claims he's going to put the wack dudes out of business, but what is he doing? Biting Ja's whole singing style (despite dissing it) and jacking the whole "Put it on me" video concept for "21 Questions".
He makes fun of Ja for copying 2pac, but he does this ON A TRACK WITH TUPAC. Both these guys disgust me

Mystikal is charismatic and probably has good lyrics (if I could understand them) I'm just not a fan of him. I'm not feeling most Souther rappers, except for Kast and the Dungeon Family, some Trick Daddy and Dead Prez. Guys like Lil Flip and 3-6 Mafia are boring to me. I know theres some three6 fans here, but this is just my opinion. (can you recommend some good rappers from the south?)
