I really, really liked this episode. Best of the season so far, in my opinion anyway.

I'll comment more on it in a few days when more of you have had a chance to see it.

And once again, you should really all be watching "Big Love" -- that show seriously just keeps getting better and better, and right now, a whole bunch of other shit is starting to come to a head.

"Come to a head" -- heh, it all comes back to Vito.

Artie and his restaurant seem to be the main focus of next week's episode. It looks like Artie gets punched by that guy who used to be the sidekick in Doogie Howser.

Uh, we all watched the previews there, guy.

Sadly, I think I've got the whole Vesuvius 2 (or however the fuck you spell it) drama all figured out -- 'twas hinted at fairly strongly in this last episode, in fact.

If this is going where it seems, the shit's really going to hit the fan -- and we'll get to see an awful lot more of Artie hysterically overly talking with his hands as an added bonus.

I am still wondering if that Russian soilder is going to come back and get some revenge.

He either died or they are waiting till the end of the season to have him come back and kill Paulie off.

    Sweet.

I don't know how more Tony can take though. Furio would probably smoke him in his current condition.

Many people would take Tony one on one, but that doesn't really matter when you're the head of a crime family and have loyal soldiers who will take a bullet for you. Furio knows he could take Tony, but he's also been in the mafia his entire life and knows how stupid of an act it would be to do so. I doubt he'd try and take Tony out on his own, or even at all. I did read that he was gonna come and finish Tony off tho so who knows..

Is it the last season for sure?

I think its like 10 episodes now, then 8 more episodes to polish off the series in Jan 07 or something.

So either way we have a long while to wait to find out the fate of Tony Soprano.

I'm still sticking to my idea of him just chilling in his pool one day, then the ducks coming back and him having a heart attack and dying. It was the ducks that triggered the whole panic attack shit in the first place.

    Fucking dicks.

Just checked an episode guide and there are at least 11 episodes. So I think it might go to the typical 13 a season.

They did say that a 7th season was possible though. No one on the cast has been officially informed this is the last season.

I think that would be a good way to end it.

Wouldn't hurt if Furio came back and tried to kill off Tony as well, though.

I want to see Mental Russian Soldier back too.

Vito was caught in a gay club dressed in full motorcycle guy YMCA attire by two other mob guys. Vito immediately went into hiding after a few of Tony's guys went to look for him, with Vito ducking out in New Hampshire I believe. He basically found it seems like a gay-friendly community and is going to stick it out there I assume for the time being. There are rumors flying left and right about the situation.

On the other hand, there is alot of pressure from the guys under Tony to make a move and cap Vito. Tony doesn't think it's the right thing to do necessarilly, and so far to my knowledge hasn't made a move on it. (I haven't seen tonight's episode) On the other hand, we have Phil Leotardo who seems to want to protect the good name of his cousin and their sanctity of marriage ( ) and wants to hunt down and kill Vito.

Also, Big Pussy's wife Angie is now dealing with the mob to get supplies for her body shop.

To my knowledge, that's all that happened last week.

Benny is hardly a tough guy man.

Artie got fucked up in season 4 by that foreign guy who he lent 50k to. He was like a tired old man.

Benny is like a 15 year old kid.

Yeah, because when I think "taking someone to school", "getting my forearm and hand boiled to nearly epic proportions" is the first thing that usually comes to mind.

At any rate, Arty is more successful than he was in his first attempt to be a big badass muscle dude.

It really is about time someone tried to help Arty's insane bipolar impulses, because Tony really isn't the person to turn to for calming down.

I like seeing episodes like this that don't completely certain around Tony. The Rusty hit, Carmine and Christopher wtih Ben Kingsley, Bacall getting mugged, and Benny/Artie.
    All good stuff.

Yeah, I seriously think this bears repeating, in some sort of bold font, without spoiler tags -- let's face it, everyone knows already anyhow, it's been the talk of the town.

In a scene that further hammers home why this is the greatest and best television show of all fucking time, Christopher and Little Carmine mugged Lauren Bacall.

I can see why a few people might have jumped to the conclusion that they'd jump Kingsley, but if you claim to have seen this coming, you're full of shit.

Lauren Bacall is likely to get one of those token award nominations that old established actors get for this guest appearance. Needless to say that unlike so many others, she's actually earned it.

Lauren Bacall all beat up and cursing up a storm = Emmy.

I think this episode was great for the fact it really set the wheels in motion. At least to me anyways. You can feel things are getting ready to pick up and intenisfy very quick.

However, for some reason I thought during the opening the hit was being put on on Furio lol. When they said long horse face I was like...it's on!

Artie does have problems lol. It is only a matter of time before he dies I reckon.

Best episode of the season so far I think.

I knew Christopher was gonna pull something but I thought he'd do over that little place with all the free shit. I was marking out when Lauren Bacall was chinned though. Fucking good stuff.

Nah Artie won't die. He's Tonys only real friend, he's the only guy who can get away with calling Tony a cunt. No matter what he does Tony will look out for him..

But then again I just had a brainwave..

Artie is sick of his life, i think he might try and move into the criminal world a bit more in the next few weeks and start mixing up with Tony only to screw up mega and have Tony linked to it all.. then maybe a contract is put out on his head.. thats the only way I can see Artie being wacked.

    Sir Ben was fucking brilliant.

Little Carmine is actually starting to look like Silvio too. Fucking excellent episode. Shows like this and Lost really piss me off though when I realise that UK-made drama is so unbelieably shite. I don't want The Sopranos to end. Ever.

OK episode I'd give it a 7/10. Some funny, interesting, and shocking things. Then again it had no murders or real mafia happenings, no Paulie, no Chris. (if i recall)

I thought that Vito was going to get killed by the gay biker too.
It'd be funny if he turns out to be a hitman or something for the mafia and by coincidence has to kill Vito.

Or they wind up running away together to like The Florida Keys.

And I feel bad for Junior.
Poor fella. I'd visit him if I knew where he was just to rub his bald head.

And I like how the family gene's got passed down to AJ.

    Fucking good episode.

Christophers new blushing bride is fucking smokin hot fine. I'm beginning to think this crackhead Chris keeps talking to about the Rusty hit is a bit dogey, he's probably gonna end up being a rat and has all this info on Chris and Tony.

The Vito scene from the script. A bit small, but you can still make it out if you really wanna know what happens in detail.

    It's just you. You're a stupid whiner. Yesterday's episode was fan-freaking-tastic.

Poor Bobby Bacala. Poor Ginny Sack's left half. Poor Ginny Sack's right half. Fuck Pauly.

Vito's self-destruction from having to do actual physical labor (it wasn't for no reason or because the writers got lazy, it's because he can't stand work and the bars shutting down at midnight.) was kinda funny. I want him to get wacked next epsiode just so we don't have to deal with any awkward gaysecks scenes anymore.

I've been a big fan from the jump.

Season 6 very definitly already comes "anywhere close" to the quailty of those seasons, is just now at the halfway point, is set up for huge things and a big finale next spring, and it's quite clear already that this is very definitly not the worst season of "The Sopranos".

You, however, are flat-out wrong, have yet to even somewhat back up your argument, and appear to be of way too questionable Sopranos (or human) intelligence to be condescending towards anyone, especially those who have consistantly displayed that they know their shit.

Now run along, little man. Mom says it's time for bed.

I've gotta question how anyone got their hands on a copy of an actual Sopranos script when the entire cast and crew have signed notarized, filed gag orders.

While I don't intend to look at that script, if it is, in fact, legit, I'd have to think that someone's getting hit with one woolly mammoth of a lawsuit.

I've noticed that the people that hate on this season are the people that watch soley for the "action." This season has been great, story wise, but a lot of people thirst for blood when watching this kind of show, not realizing that shocking murder scenes really have no effect when you don't care about the killer or the victim.

Heard some guy on the radio last week complaining about the episode. 10 minutes in he reveals it was the first one he's watched this season. The Sopranos is not Family Guy. You can't just jump into a random episode and understand what's going on.

You can't really do that with Family GUy either. IT's just that Family Guy tries its best to not follow a linear plot so it doesn't matter if you have no freakin clue what's happening.

I honestly have no fucking clue what's gonna happen now. I've looked back at this thread (I was bored, shut up) and I see all my good theories have fallen totally by the wayside. I was able to figure out last season, but I'm not even trying on this season anymore. Just gonna sit back and let what happens happens.

The stories have been shit imo, some things are brought up then never to be mentioned again. The action is expected for this show, it's one of the show's main selling points. I've looked at most of the outcomes for this show and really I don't care anymore.

The whole bringingup and dropping thing has been going on for quite some time. Why is it just now pissing you off? The action has always been held back until the last two episodes traditionally. It's called "building up to a climax", dumbass. You can't just shoot the main character in the first episode.

    Oh, wait.

It's become apparant that the quality of this season flies right over the heads of the less intelligent.

"OMFG no 1 giot killed 4 like 4 weeks now" -- shut the fuck up, it's idiots like you that make movies like "Big Momma's House 2" successful.

Anyhow, a spoiler that I've heard from several as-reliable-as-humanly-possible sources, which would make plenty of sense, though I'm not sure at all sure it's going to happen:

To be fair, I can see that happening, and it's make something we see in the previews for next week make all the more sense -- Tony seems to care a little too much about how Vito is handled compared to what we've seen of him so far, and

Take it for exactly what it's worth, which isn't much, but if nothing else, it'd make sense.

As far as the Vito and Finn story goes that is anyway.

For whatever it's worth, Joey G. ("Vito Spattafore") is a frequent guest on the Howard Stern show, and somewhat eluded to what I've read elsewhere, so I'm holding out hope based on his comments there more than anything else.

There's a strong possibility that both your spoiler and mine are, in fact, legit. Both would make sense within the confines of the storyline -- yeah, I wound up clicking your first one against my better judgement, and was glad to see that they're not the same, but certainly both make all the sense in the world.

The rest of you shouldn't fear clicking either, for what it's worth -- you're probably strongly suspecting TMJ's to some degree at the very least anyhow, and mine is nothing more than a semi-strong rumor. I'd take them both with a huge grain of salt, though. This is "The Sopranos". Real spoilers are pretty fucking rare.

Also, the two episodes where he's been featured most prominently have been submitted for "Best Supporting Actor" Emmy consideration, and I've gotta say, a nomination oughtta be a given with the performance he's delivered this year and I wouldn't be at all shocked to see him take the damned trophy - you know Imperioli will be one of the 5 nominees being a former winner and with the name recognition that goes along with it, but I've found the Vito character to be far more compelling this year.

I'm not watching Sopranos solely for action, first of all. I want to see good character development and a plot that makes sense. They're just all over the place this season. Sorry for the comparison but it's like watching one of those Cruiserweight matches with like 10 guys. It's a spot fest. There have been some entertaining moments, and it's DEFINITELY the best series on television, but that isn't saying much. I'm simply saying it's less of a blockbuster season, in my opinion.

    Still a very good show.

Good to see I got neg-repped for stating my opinion. Classy.

I clicked the first spoiler of the spoilers that just came out, not entirely reading it through and assuming it was about Sunday's episode.

    Oh well, my fault.

Watched the new one today at a friend's house. This season is amazing. How anyone can say it's less than really good is beyond me. My favorite season was 2 and I don't think it'll top that. But it kills 4 and is better than the little I've seen from 5. Might even match 3 if it keeps up.

So how many episodes are in this run? I know there is a new one on Sunday. I'm guessing there will be 12 then 8 next year.

This season has been great storyline wise. Some great character development.

So regarding those spoilers, I wonder if someone's going to get in legal trouble for that as they were pretty damn accurate to be more then just a guess.

THat doesn't mean it sucked. What a ridiculous statement to make.

Fuckin' AJ. What a fuckin' tool. Bribing punks with a bike.

Tony's therapy seems to be working. Perhaps this will lead to him hanging up the life forever? Not nessecarily turning state's evidence, but just high-tailing it out and starting over?

I didn't say it sucked because of that, you nob. It sucked because it felt like any other episode and NOT a finale.

Well AJ certainly couldn't have beaten them up. He took the smart and safe way to make the girl think he's tough.

And I know this series is going to end horribly. Not horribly in the sense of plot holes, poor writing, etc. but horrible in the fact that it's going to be a wipeout of probably everyone in the major cast. And you know what would be an even bigger kick in the balls? If Tony or Chris flips for the feds.

The season finale was uneventful and didn't quench my lust for blood, but it was still good nonetheless. And things seemed to go too quick this season.

Best part of the last episode? That guy kicking the frozen head down into the sewers.

I saw the Shield's teaser for next season and I'm fucking now though.

I think AJ was smart in this episode.. he knew he had no chance so he just thought on his feet and got the job done.. Good qualities.

Don't look at this as the season finale, look at this as someone said... the calm before the strom... I see 2007 as a fullblown mafia war Castellammare style. That little fat guy getting in Tonys way.. oh god I hope he is gutted like a fish.

The new season of Sopranos disappointed me quite a bit. After all that build up it turned out quite average. Nothing like Season 4.

Season 4 was probably the worst season of the show, still better than 90 percent of the shows on tv.

The Finale of season 4 was amazing and Chris' herion intervention was great.

The intervention was one of my favorite Sopranos scenes ever. I remember rewinding it about 5 times when I first saw it.

And shit guys, the end of this series is gonna be wild. I have a feeling they're gonna go with the classical drama ending and kill off Tony, but who knows. Knowing it's the last season, they're free to really shake things up.

P.S. - Why did they do the whole "this is still part of season 6" thing? I mean, they made 12 episodes in the season already, and all of the previous seasons have had only 13. Not that it matters, I'm just curious.

So on Christmas Eve Best Buy has a huge sale on all HBO DVD's, 50% off, and my mom decides to get me some last minute Christmas presents by buying me seasons 3 through 6, Part 1. I had watched the first season an a half sometime last year, but lately sitting in front of the television doesn't appeal to me at all, so I kind of forgot all about the rest of Season 2. Finally had my marathon running of everything I hadn't watched already this past month, going from the second or third episode of season 2 all the way though to the end of season 6, part 1. And this time, once I started, I could turn away. This show is so god damn amazing. I was dreading finishing up the DVD's, cause then I'd have nothing to do anymore.

So the final episodes start up within the next two weeks, supposedly. I haven't had HBO for years, but you can bet I'll have it by the time they start airing the next string of episodes.

Also, there was that rumor of the big finale being on the big screen. Still any truth to that?

So I just checked out the newest episode and it started off slow, but really turned out fantastic. Once it picks up it doesn't slow down. You can also tell there is going to be some sad shit going down real quick. Gonna be a fucking great mini season.

I realize it doesn't air until April 8th, so I will not even post comments until then.

    However,

Quality is ok. Supposed to be a DVD screener but there are parts that are a bit pixilated, not bad though.

Sort of a slow start to the season but the groundwork for trouble is laid down pretty quickly.

Something about a dick being in Jan's mouth, to the tune of "Under the Boardwalk."
