I thought it was an excellent episode as well. One of my buddies called it awful and said the first half-hour was too boring, but I thought everything was really well done.

Yup, supposedly. I had heard it may or may not be, but now it seems confirmed that these are the final handful of episodes.
Right so Sopranos is back on. Just fill me in, is this Episode 1 of the new bunch? When is it aired, when can I download?

I believe there's only 8 more episodes. I think this second installment of this season is only 9 episodes. Not 100% sure, but I think that's what I read.
Yup, 8 more to go. Considering seasons 1-5 all consisted of 13 episodes, and season 6 "part 1" had 12, I would've liked to see them make this season 7 and give us a couple more than 9, especially since the first episode was so good. Oh well.

I rank Heroes and Lost slightly higher than The Sopranos and I'm one of the biggest Sopranos fans you'd find.

Why would Phil kill Chris?
I actually thought Phil's pondering scene implied he's going to step up and become the boss again, but maybe I need to go back and re-watch it. Also, I don't know where you got the idea that Chris is going to make a move on Tony - he's the last person I'd expect to do that. However, Tony is clearly getting fed up with him and one more incident could result in his demise.
Solid episode, but below average for the series. Pretty fucking morbid, even by Sopranos standards.

Chris killed Phil's brother, did he not? He was begging and itching to kill him for awhile before Tony put a stop to it. I was just thinking with the way he went on about his heritage he was going to take back honor and pride for the family by getting revenge for his brother's murder.
Also, at the end of the episode both Chris and Tony had that look in their eyes that this could be the last true civil moment between them.

Blundetto killed Phil's brother. That's who he meant when he said 'Tony's cousin', not Christopher.
Yeah, Ringo is correct. Phil's got no beef with Chris; if anything, he's still mad at Tony for not letting him kill Blundetto himself.
There was a point in Season 6a when the FBI warned Tony that NY might be making a move on someone close to him. I took that to mean Chris, so it might not be out of the question that NY would attempt to kill him when Phil wants to get back at Tony for something.
I also took the end of the episode as Phil deciding to take the place as boss with a vengeance.

Paulie Vs Chrissy was great as usual.
I believe in these last 4 episodes, look for something drastic to happen to make things move quicker resulting in a huge climatic ending.
Next week, I say chrissy goes apeshit and kills paulie or he himself gets killed.

2 weeks until the next episode actually. Man, I still am trying to get over chrissy being gone. He was my favorite character.
Tonights was brilliant. AJ is hilarious. He had some great lines today.
Meadow: " Have you seen that movie Borat? Its great. You can watch it 50 times and its still great.
AJ: " Ahh..Its not right. Those people didn't even know they were being taped".

The best moment had to be T discovering a curbstomp tooth in his leg of his pants during AJ's therapy session.
Been catching up on this season over the last week, and I gotta say, this might even be better than season 2, which I was convinced was untoppable.

As long as they don't Seinfield this final episode, I'm hoping it will of Mash proportions. This past week's episode got me pissing right now.
Wow. I absolutely loved how that episode ended, really a perfect setup for the series finale. I predict Tony will go Scarface on the New York guys before dying.

In the sense that Paulie has been a central member of Tony's crew since the beginning of the series whereas Bacala only became a key figure when he married Janbitch.
Bobby was a capo before Janice sank her harpy claws into his cushions of fat.
Fair enough. I really hope I'm wrong - plot twists you can see coming aren't very fun at all.
It'd be great if Furio came back to do the hit on Tony.
Of course Paulie was closer to Tony than Bobby, Bobby has just risen up the ranks a lot more lately due to Paulie not being able to pull in the money like he used to.
Yeah. That was heavily rumoured at one point, but Chase confirmed he wouldn't be coming back. Would have been absolutely brilliant though.
He was closer in a personal sense, but Philly is looking to take out the buisness side of things.
You know, we've all been talking about Paulie as a possible turncoat, but what about

Paulie is definitely made. He escorted Chris to his making ceremony and was present for it with all the other made guys.

Paulie was a capo, he had his own crew, of course he was made. And I don't ever remember anyone mentioning Paulie not being made, not unless someone like Richie Aprile made a joke about it I can't remember.

I know what happens next, the Russian comes running out of the forest with Paulies shoe and beats New York to death with it.
I would probably ejaculate a little if Furio or the mental Russian came back in the finale. Won't happen though.
After the final episode I'm going to watch all six series all over again.

The crappy part about a finale is that they're forced to condense everything in order to wrap up all the loose ends. If it was 2 hours long there'd be room for that, but as it is all they'll probably be able to do is show what happens to Tony. Carmela, Meadow, AJ, the rest of the Family, and other supporting characters are probably going to be left floating.
I really disagree with David Chase for writing Furio out... I really think he should've been an Italian hired to put out a hit on Tony.
They really should make it 2 hours. Is it definitely only 1?
Maybe they won't tie up all the lose ends. The last scene could well be Tony being killed, and your left to wonder what happens after that.
Besides no-one really knows why Furio left, apart from Tony and maybe Sil, right? So as far as Phil knows, Furio is still connected to Jersey so he wouldn't ask him in the first place.
Just found out that the final episode is 61 minutes long, as opposed to the normal 47-48 minutes. Better than nothing
So it's about an episode and a quarter. Eh. I'd still think it's worth the 2 hour investment.
I'll spoiler it, just to be safe. It's simply speculation on my part, for the sake of fun, but wouldn't want anybody to bust a vein or anything...
