What a coincidence, this being the 300 post, and my 300 post aswell.
The big news of MacGill and Warne playing together, means that Warne may be overshadowed yet again. The stats are pretty clear, in the 5 tests that they have played together, their figures look like this:
MacGill - 24 Wickets @ 19.21 Best - 12 / 107
Warne - 7 Wickets @ 65.00 Best - 3 / 77
It doesnt take an idiot to reconise that McGill has the talent, but not the attitude. The pressure that the two now face is to outdo each other. The period of time when the two were together was at a time when Warne came back from surgury, and was not at his best.
This is no doubt, MacGill's last chance at the top level. If he outbowls Warne, which I expect him to, he may be that spinner to replace Warne.
Other than MacGill, the team will remain unchanged from the New Zealand test series. Only that the Australians will go into the next test with the 2 spin attack, and hopefully this time these two can play together, and not as guys competing for a spot.
