I hate the term "make the playoffs" This was the playoffs with the 1-4 seeds having a bye tournament.
I’ll be watching that Maple Leafs game, what a comeback in game 4 the other day.
Since the restart and how they’ve done the format, it’s been brilliant.
If the Leafs lose tonight, I’ll have a couple beers in celebration as I watch that fanbase burn itself to the ground. It’s called the Qualifying Round, not round one of the playoffs; if the Leafs lose, they’re in the draft lottery because they MISSED THE PLAYOFFS.
If the Leafs/Oilers/Jets win the lottery tomorrow night, I’ll have a couple beers in anger as those stupid fanbases add yet another topend piece to the puzzle. I’m fine with LaFreniere becoming the heir apparent in Pittsburgh; the rest of the qualifying round losers really could use a franchise player.
A series to determine who advances to the next round...sounds like a playoff to me.

I'm not surprised about the Leafs considering they've been lackluster all year. Way too top heavy with horrible defense and no toughness. Dubas should be on thin ice... his all speed and skill roster is not built for the playoffs. I can see him getting the boot if next year is another unsuccessful season.
Dubas has really been exposed as a green GM. Those 3 contracts, especially Marner's, were very very player-friendly lol. Not much left for defense and a gritty 4th line, which is invaluable for playoff hockey.

That's why one of the big four (Nylander) needs to go. Trade one of them and get a top 2 or 4 defenseman. It's clear that all this firepower can't accomplish anything in the playoffs.
Being unable to score an even strength goal despite all that money in the O is concerning too.

Oh man you got a beauty. Lafreniere was an absolute beast during Canada's run-up to win Junior gold this past Jan. The guy does it all - not only is he bigtime gifted offensively, but he HITS! Physicality to boot. He will rejuvenate that Ranger lineup. This is huge for your team.YES THE RANGERS

These playoffs have been quality.
3 games all tied 3-3 in the semis. That Flyers/Islanders game was really good.
The fact that we even came back from 1-3 to force game 7 has me super pumped, that we absolutely stole games 5 and 6 with our goalie of the future has me ecstatic.
If we lose tonight, it will still have been an outstanding playoff run. If we win, I really like our chances against Dallas in the Western Conference Final. Dare I dream?
I've watched Demko play since he was 17. Awesome to see him playing so well the last two games, and the team having the success they are. I'm hoping they can win tonight and then beat Dallas. Don't care to see Dallas in the finals.
