Michigan has a decent chance of shutting down Georgia and winning 14-10 or something like that. But if Georgia can score 2 touchdowns, they will win.
Can't say I was surprised by the second game either…

That broadcast for the Georgia/Michigan game was so fucking irritating; nobody needs a full-time camera on the two head coaches, nor two views of the same play. Way too busy visually.

Hated that fourth quarter. Had U38.5 at +400. Was looking good until the last quarter. Ended up losing it by 20.

I'm sure why but apparently I don't like Georgia. I have been really annoyed by all the celebratory pieces about them today. I didn't know they bugged me like that; they won me money this year. I wonder why that is…

As a Tenn fan Georgia is a rival. We were the only team to score 3 times on them in the regular season I believe and I take pride in that. Alabama is an age old "rivalry" who I'm supposed to hate out of tradition but that's really for old guys. Anyone born post 75 probably hates Florida way more.

But due to my raising and culture I had to try REAL hard not to be an asshole chanting SEC SEC all night..

Because we're raised to believe the rest of the nation doesn't take our region seriously or something.

I’m on the west coast. I don’t like any SEC school. Their arrogance is so annoying because it is so justified. The rest of us can’t say anything back. We just have to shut up and say yes you are better than us.

I guess I like Bama’s dynasty on some level because I was annoyed by Dabo and Clemson too.

I am glad someone besides Bama won. Kudos to Sabin and the program he has there. They are definitely one of the best teams if not the best team year in and year out. Ole Miss plays them every year so therefore I hate them. So glad to see another SEC team win. I would not be happy if a non SEC team would have won the playoff.

Yeah this is what I've learned and I've tried to preach it to others.

It's like no man. The rest of the country DOES get it. They get it too much. All we give a shit about is football in this part of the country and we literally sicken everyone when we pound our chests because it's totally uncalled for.

Goodbye local rivalries and traditions. Hello giant superconferences.....

USC, UCLA planning move from Pac-12 to Big Ten as early as 2024, sources say (espn.com)

USC and UCLA, two of the Pac-12's flagship programs, are planning to leave the conference for the Big Ten as early as 2024, and a move is considered imminent, sources confirmed to ESPN on Thursday.
There is still a formal notification process, as the two schools have to let the Pac-12 know their intentions to leave. USC and UCLA also have to formally apply to the Big Ten. According to a source, that process is underway.

They would never do it but a Big10-Pac12 Super League with promotion and relegation could be kinda cool. Lets the big teams fight each other but would still give everyone else stuff to care about while maintaining some rivalries and promotion/relegation would allow for dormant rivals to come back.

12 team playoff coming. I am fine with expanding. I always thought 8 would would be a good number. I think 12 might be stretching it a bit. Kind of want to see what kind of details they work out. Right now it seems to be Top 6 conference champs and 6 at large. Top 4 conference champs get first round byes. first around played at home field of higher seed and quarters and semi's at bowl games and neutral site championship.

Sounds great to me. I like 8 teams as well, but I think we'll see enough upsets in that opening round (where the 9 to 12 seeds face the 5 to 8 seeds) to make people appreciate the bigger field as time goes on. Will a 9 to 12 seed ever win the whole thing? Idk but it'll be fun to find out.

The 9 to 12 seed have no shot of winning it all until scholarship limitations are instituted.

You can have all 130 Div 1 teams have a go in a tourny playoff and you're still gonna have the absolute elite of the elite - ie the Alabama's, Ohio State's, Clemon's, Georgia's, LSU's - winning it all each and every year. The only way to shift the balance of power to the rest of field is to not allow those schools to stockpile that elite talent year in and year out. If they dropped the limit from 85 to something like 65 or 70 then those very tip top schools will have less margin to work with each season talentwise while gobs of quality starters are dispersed throughout the field.

An annual tradition, Oregon football getting absolutely waxed. Fuck’s sakes.

The Ducks, even if they run the table, will still get passed over for the fourth spot in the playoff. They needed to be competitive in the loss, keep it within 10 points.

My least favourite part of this sport is the championship contenders (and the announcers) patting themselves on the back for beating up JV squads 4-5 times a season.

The season, for each team, essentially comes down to 2-3 games that actually matter. But, yeah, go on about how sacred the regular season is, college football fanboys…

That is still 2-3 more games than matter in any other sport. CFB is the only sport left where the regular season means ANYTHING.

Tennessee beat Florida for the 2nd time since they fired Phil Fulmer 14 years ago. Great game too if you can catch it on a replay.

I'm not quite to Tennessee is back BAYBAY levels yet as our number 11 ranking is a bit much (we've beat barely in the top 25 Pitt and no longer in the top 25 FLA) but this is not the Vols of the past decade and a half.

I didn't get to see the whole game but Ole Miss didn't score in the second half but did manage to hold on and win against Tulsa. Come on. We beat an ACC team 42-0 last week and we win by 8 against Tulsa. Little worried heading into SEC play.

One would think they just didn't show up to play the small game. I mean App state makes a living off of big school taking them for granted as a win. Maybe that's all it was.

I mean we schedule Bama every year but we're in the east, them the west. It's felt like this needless drubbing every season for so long.

Anytime Alabama loses, that’s a very good day.

Congrats on the massive W. Tennessee at Georgia in early-November, for the inside track in the SEC East? Sign me the hell up…

I am always down for a Bama loss. Good job Vols. Ole Miss is actually on top of the West for the moment. But we still have to play Bama down the road. I do feel for Miss. State who has to play Bama after a loss for I believe the 2nd year in a row. Okay I actually don't feel bad for State.

A lot of big name jobs going to be open this year. Now, whether or not they are places that are as big as they think they are is up for debate.

    Colorado
    Georgia Tech

Alabama losing sucks (even though it was to LSU that Tenn also beat) but now Tenn needs Georgia to go undefeated while winning out itself. That way the only team that beat us would be the best team in football.

Notre Dame past and present has killed the hierarchy of the College Football Playoffs for this year. And they are not that good.

Always glad to see Bama lose even if it was to LSU. I don’t like that we have to face them this coming week though.

Army v Navy. Shitty football but courageous young men bound for far more noble futures.

The pagentry is amazing, so at least there’s that…

Years ago (before I was a dad), I had been given a SRO ticket to the Army-Navy game back at Veterans Stadium, and it was one of the most memorable events I ever attended live. I am not military but have tremendous respect for all involved. I will never forget how both teams sucked - Army was below .500, and the Midshipmen were winless going it, but to everyone there, it might just as well have been the SuperBowl. There were more Navy crew around us, so it was easy for me to root for them, and we were not disappointed - Navy pulled off the win, so in their minds, it was a successful season. Best rivalry in all college sports.

Miss. State coach Mike Leach passed away. I may be a Ole Miss guy but he did good stuff with their program and was a great coach and great human being and will be missed.

He was a character when he was coaching Texas Tech and Washington State, but the teams he coached were always a lot of fun to watch. That game between Texas Tech and Texas that resulted in Texas Tech winning with that Crabtree touchdown was one of the best games I ever watched. What a sad loss.

He would've been the coach at Tennessee if not for Fulmer pulling a successful coup and getting his guy (and nobody else's) Jeremy Pruitt installed as hc.

But then if that happened we wouldn't now have Josh Heupel who was, coincidentally, recruited by Mike Leach and they won a national title together at Oklahoma.

    That was an excellent game.

I'll take Georgia in the championship game but after what I saw today I'm not the least bit certain. I wouldn't bet that game. No sir.

The more time passes the more if feels like the referees really screwed up both games.

OSU never recovered from Harrison getting taken out after his head shot and the random reversal and Michigan wins if they call a TD when the player caught the ball in the end zone.

At least I got Georgia correct.

My heart wants TCU, if only to shut SEC fan up for the next year; my mind says Georgia is just too much, the close call in the semifinals will mean some lively practices this week.

    The Bulldogs go back-to-back.

The SEC fan in me says Georgia repeats. They will find a way. They had some close calls and managed to win and will do so again. Now back to licking my wounds and how bad the Ole Miss season ended after a great start.

I really want TCU to win, but I don't think that is going to happen. Georgia got exposed, but Marvin Harrison JR is a cheat code.

This is at least mildly interesting, imo.

For instance, could you imagine Nick Saban saying the same thing and at all getting away with it..

Deion Sanders Prefers QBs From ‘Dual Parent’ Households, ‘Single Mama’ Homes For Defensive Linemen When Recruiting

“Well, we have different attributes. Smart, tough, fast, disciplined with character,” Sanders said. “Now, quarterbacks are different. We want mother, father. Dual-parent. We want that kid to be a 3.5 [GPA] and up because he has to be smart. Not bad decisions off the field at all. Because he has to be a leader of men and so many different attributes in what we look for when we see a quarterback.”

Coach Prime likes to have a quarterback whose father coached football, which got an amused smile from Eisen, considering Sanders’ son Shedeur will be the quarterback for the Buffaloes in the 2023 season.

The NFL Hall of Famer has similar criteria when recruiting offensive linemen.

“Different positions are different,” Sanders said. “Like O-linemen, I look for dual-parent homes. A strong father that they adhere to. Smart kid, at least 3.3 [GPA] and above. Tough, physical.”

But on the the defensive side of the ball, the coach looks for a different set of characteristics, and a different family situation.

“Defensive lineman is totally opposite,” Sanders said. “Single mama, trying to get it. He’s on free lunch. I’m talking about just trying to make it. He’s trying to rescue mama. Like, mama barely made the flight, and I just want him to go get it.”

“It’s a whole bit of different attributes you look for in different positions, and we have that stuff just chronicle. We know what we want, and we go get it,” he said.

    What a fucking joke.

Harbaugh opts to sit out three walk throughs, I mean non-conference games…war Michigan running the table then getting done up at home versus The Ohio State…

ACC adds Stanford, Cal and SMU.

I am so tired of the conference moving around and the super conferences.

I am ready for some football though.

I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around this being the last season of the Pac-12. It seems impossible.

I hate how addicted I am to college football, NCAA over the pros all fucking day.

Fuck Alabama, fuck Georgia, fuck Ohio State.

War Oregon finally putting together a full season behind the Heisman candidate Bo Nix. Having two West Coast QBs (Nix and Wiliams) as Heisman finalists would explode a shitload of heads.

What are realistic expectations from Colorado? Six wins and a bowl game? Eight wins, tops?

A very cursory look at the roster shows like 70% underclassmen or graduate students, not a single player appears to have returned from the 2022 season. The whole coaching staff is new, half of them came with Sanders from JSU. There’s talent there, no doubt, but the PAC-12 (RIP) for all its warts is still a P5 conference and a big step up from the FCS.

Best case scenario? Start the season 3-0, schedule losses to USC/Oregon/Utah, beat ASU/Standard, coin toss pick ‘ems for the rest? What’s that, eight wins tops? Still a massive improvement (and feather in Prime’s cap) after 1-11 in 2022…

Colorado has USC and Oregon back to back, I figure there is a loss there and probably the finale at Utah. I think he will go 10-2 and be super annoying about it. Possibly 9-3 if they get tripped up by some random team on the road. His son is good and he is going to be able to recruit. The other issue will be the NFL if he is consistent the next few years.

As for how the season goes right now, it does seem like Georgia is just going to waltz right in there unless something insane happens at the SEC Championship game. I am not sold on Tenn. Their QB, yea...the team...not really. Clemson and LSU are out, like out out. Ohio State/ND is going to make or break either team in two weeks. Florida State could run the table, Miami killed Texas AM. I know we are going to RIP the PAC12, but I am not sold on these SEC schedules were Bama and Georgia conveniently never play each other in the regular season and LSU/Bama is too much of a tradition to get rid of. It would be funny to see Oregon or Utah run the table for a conference that will be dead as soon as the National Title Game is over.

    - What's so annoying about him so far?

    - I don't whatsoever see him coaching in the nfl, regardless of what he accomplishes at Colorado or any other college program.

-Alabama gets smacked down in their own stadium.
-Oregon gives me a heart attack by letting yet another unranked team hang around way too fucking long.
    -Premature Heisman talk.
-The networks gushing about national title contenders based on a couple glorified walk throughs

Damn near a full season of storylines and that was only week two…yeah…

Michigan State fired their head coach.

Update: Suspended, but probably not returning.

Dude just re-upped with a massive contract, became example 1001 that us guys are absolute fucking morons and incapable of ignoring our little head.

It didn’t take long for Coach Prime to make Colorado appointment viewing, next week at Oregon should be exciting.

All that pomp and circumstance to get taken to double OT by a 20 point dog? Cool, man. Colorado State was so far in Colorado’s head…

Can’t wait for the Buffs to get dummied at Oregon and vs USC…

UC vs CSU was ESPN's 5th highest watched college football game ever (9.3 million viewers). And it started at 10pm and didn't end until after 1AM on the east coast. That is bonkers. And it makes sense since I personally stayed up to watch it and I watch very minimal college football regular season games.

    Deion is truly the man.

Not trying to hate on Tyson personally since tons of people said this but the take of "they were heavy favorites, everyone calm down" is such a lame take IMO.

Enjoy cool things, even if they won't make the CFB playoffs.
