That's interesting. I wouldn't know where to start on what this guy adds in terms of yards per game but if it's 50-60 over any other punter then that's got to be significant value.

I suppose as far as looking at the total yards a punter adds to the game as a whole value rather than what they do on a kick by kick basis.
But if they add more per kick then their total yards kick will be higher? and if he kicks it further then the opposing offence have to work harder, so it's valuable.
LSU may have an offense. Army is either a thousand times better than we thought or Michigan is dog shit this year. USC on the come up. Clemson murdered another SEC team. And we are heading into week three with Alabama, PSU and most of the top twenty teams playing no one. Notre Dame/Georgia is week four.
His yards kicked can certainly be valuable. But it's not something I've ever thought or read as a total statistic. What he does on from one kick to the next is of real importance. Coffin corner punts or hang time for instance.

I've never noticed this but Army threw 2/4 with one pick against Michigan, and it still went to OT. It seems to be how they run their offence.
There is also a The U: Part 2. Not as good as Part 1 but still good. Part 1 is outstanding. Highly recommend to any college football fan. I watch it every year before the season starts.

Tenn seems to finally be coming around. The key seems to have been pulling and benching several of the Butch Jones era seniors and just playing Pruitt's freshman and sophomores instead. But a real good effort this last month with wins over Miss St, South Carolina and UAB as well as a competitive showing with Alabama.
Kentucky, Missouri and Vandy left. 2 wins gets them to a bowl game. 3 gets them to 7-5 which is what most people had them at starting off the season.
Those two losses to start the season against BYU and southwestern Georgia state tech school for the blind loom large now.
Either way, Pruitt seems to be doing well. Very hopeful for the future.

Two of those teams are probably dropping out of the top 4 within the next 2 weeks since they play each other. Where it gets interesting is if LSU loses to Bama by a FG. Do they still get in over an undefeated Clemson?
Clemson won't have a quality win all year so the same can be said about the loser of the PSU/OSU game who will probably have 3 better wins than Clemson.
I would put a 1 loss OSU or 1 loss LSU above undefeated Clemson. I would not out 1 loss PSU or 1 loss Alabama.

Yes. Because the rest of OSU's season has been much more impressive than PSU
Once this week and season are over, PSU would have played a harder schedule.
OSU's resume isn't that much better but they have been winning by 40 instead of 20 like PSU. I would put 1 loss PSU above 1 loss Bama if that helps.
However, I was actually assuming the B10 team with one loss wins the PSU/OSU game but then loses something else but still wins the conference. I don't think a 1 loss team that loses the B10 conference has any chance to make the playoff. LSU is the only non-champion 1 loss team I would consider.

One thing I saw was if it was for the playoff, the NCAA has a system to help the family come to the game. But because it was only the Rose Bowl, the player's families get no help.
CBS already laying the ground work for Alabama to be in the playoffs even though they won't win the division or be in then SEC title game or played anyone minus LSU so far. So, glad Penn State lost.

This is why it was better with the BCS. It wasn't perfect but they didn't incorporate regional viewership into the formula either.
They can't have Alabama, who didn't win their division in this thing, again. The ratings will be the same of the SEC is I it or not. We just had the most boring Super Bowl of all time and it still had amazing ratings. The tournament would get better ratings if it was Saturday instead of Monday.

PSU is beating OSU and then Minnesota (avenging their only loss) and making the final 4 over one of the non conference teams.
PSU might have the best win all year by any team by winning at number 2 OSU, they would avenge their only loss, and have wins over Iowa, Michigan, OSU, and Minn on their resume. that would be tough to leave them off. Clemson hasn't beaten anyone all year and the other team wouldn't win it's conference.

I can see where you would say Minnesota winning out would get in, but even then Ohio State has the better overall resume.
Once again, doesn't matter, because Ohio State isn't losing that title game. Only game I see them losing is against Michigan, but even then Michigan isn't especially strong.
