Will be missing this one as I'm away on vacation that day. I'll also be away for Bad Blood, probably the first time in having the WWE Network/Peacock I've missed two PLEs in a row but whatever, I've think these recent shows haven't been too good anyway.
Gunther will retain, Cody will retain, Rhea/Priest will win, and Punk will win, that's my predicitons.
Donald, I hope you have a great vacation. You deserve it.
I had very very high expectations for GUNTHER/Orton the first time they battled, and I don't think they achieved what they were capable of doing. I will try to have more guarded expectations this time.
I am kind of relieved that Punk / Drew v2 is a strap match, and not a bracelet on a pole match.
With Roman coming back to the active role, and now in a face role, is it too early to turn Cody heel?
Dom/Liv v. Priest/Rhea has been heavy on the storytelling, and less ring action. It's been good so far, but I find it hard to get interested in 5-on-2 stuff.
I kinda wish they had used Larry's leash.

I swear to fucking God if this card is only 4 matches I'm going to lose my shit. This isn't even like In Your House where they'd air 4 matches but they've have like 4-5 matches before or after the ppv card that didn't air. You're literally paying to see 4 matches live. Some people have tried to spin it like "The UFC will sometimes only have 4-5 fights" Yeah on the ppv but there's also like 8-10 fights that air on the prelims. We're getting a 2 hour pre-show and then 4 matches where they drag ass and then another 15 minutes of "For those of you with Peacock Premium here's the backstory, everyone else here's a fuckin Ryan Reynolds cellphone commercial"
It’ll be more than four lol. Still over a week of TV left plus they like to add stuff last minute anyways.
I'm sure we'll get a 5th match but even then that's still pretty lame. I was trying to get on board with that approach but it's getting a little ridiculous.
4-5 match cards wouldn't be so bad if they didn't last 3 hours. We spend more time watching promotional material paid for by the following than we do wrestling and I'm not one of those stopwatch fans but holy fuck.....They're turning into glorified Raws.
We still got Smackdown tonight so perhaps they’ll finalise the Bloodline stuff at least. There’s still a good chunk left like Knight and Bron so far champions unaccounted for. I’d say we could still get 6, maybe a bonus last minute addition.
Although with so many talent on the roster, I also appreciate it’s probably harder finding spots for everyone these days.
The fact there are so many wrestlers on the roster is why having a 5 match ppv card is criminal. Trust me, I get the whole advertisers argument, I get "less is more" I've made that argument.
I would like to see more matches and get more people on the show beyond the big 4 shows where we get more matches(well maybe not Rumble since two rumble matches take a lot of time and have a lot of people). But I also don't want a bunch of shorter matches for the sake of getting people on the show. So I have to admit I am bit conflicted because I like the what tends to be longer more quality matches over shorter potential spot fests.
That's the thing though. We're not really getting longer matches we're getting longer ads/promoting the city they're in.
I would like to believe we're going to get Dragunov v. Breakker for the IC title.
Wish they'd have brand specific PLEs again. It seems like the same people are on the PLEs these days. Let some others have fun.
Hmm. Honestly I prefer the mix and brand exclusive stuff tended to result in filler that could’ve been saved for the TV shows.
I think having more “special” TV shows like they do with NXT wouldn’t go amiss though.
We would never have gotten Mordecai vs. Bob fucking Holly if they didn't have brand specific PLEs.
LA Knight issued an open challenge so that will likely be a 5th.
Alba and Dawn are defending the women’s tag titles against Bianca and Jade actually makes it five so far. Aldis announced it on X.
The promo was confusing a bit on SD but WWE clarified on their site that the LA Knight open challenge is for next Friday’s Smackdown in Berlin, not the PLE.

Brand exclusive ppvs in hindsight exposed us to wrestlers who would've been stuck on Velocity because they would've had to build the stories on both Raw and Smackdown. They did the brand split because after WCW they had so many people on the main roster, down in HWA, OVW, all under some kind of contract. But at the time I remember thinking, fuck....Who wants to see Undertaker v. The Dudleyz? Who wants to see A-Train v. Simon Dean or whatever the fuck? But then you see a match like London/Kendrick v. Cade/Murdoch and you're like fuck yeah.
I suspect the fact that they’re stacking title matches on the buildup beforehand makes me think they’re trying to spread themselves and make the TV shows more important too rather than load everything onto PLEs.

My buddy and I used to go to BW3 or Hooters or whatever to watch PPVs at the time but he couldn't make it out for that show.
Interested to see if they pull the trigger on anything here. It looks like a 'ticking over' show on paper, which isn't necessarily a bad thing to keep things building logically, but does lack interest. I'd be shocked if either world title changes hands, but potentially Owens turns to properly start that angle. Bianca and Jade get the belts back to delay their split and 'Mania match. Punk ties it up to set up the trilogy in the Cell. Priest pins Dominick. Positive of course being the crowd will be hot for everything, Gunther gets put over as the biggest star in the company, and the big angles get their kick-start going into the fall. I do think they'll need a hook though, as despite the positive fanfare these overseas PPV's have potential to fall into Insurextion/Rebellion territory if nothing actually happens at them besides the women's tag titles switching hands.
Great crowd but still this show is lacking a spark. Strap match in particular just seemed telegraphed, slow and plodding while they waited for the next spot. Probably the wrong type of stipulation to be honest. Also thought the lights would have been more flashing sirens, probably hard to see in the arena.
Hopefully it picks up in the “rubber” match.
Might be the best mixed tag I've ever seen. Best match I've seen Liv in yet. Personally I've never thought much of her as others have but this year she's put it all together and is killing it.
Yeah mixed tag has been my favourite so far for the energy and crowd.
Orton’s entrance looks like it was out of a wrestling game lol.
It was predictable, but it was good. Those wins were definitive, but felt as big for the arcs of the losers as it did for the winners. The Judgment Day need to regroup as they can't stand to the former members. Likely leads to a shake up. Kevin Owens needs to find the prizefighter in him. Drew lost all of his advantages over Punk. Randy can no longer win the big one. Feels like those characters are due to grow a lot going forward.
Randy gradually going insane, with his physique now too, is going to land huge. That turn against Cody is coming. I wonder if they leave it for 'Mania. It's certainly big enough, but with it being Cena's last one I see them doing it earlier and John facing the feud winner for number 17.
I thought it was a very hot show til the main event and I started fading. WWE has a great talented roster and the matches are hot, however I question some of the endings. The women's tag titles being handed over every time its on PPV is kinda stupid. While I love Damien and Rhea getting their revenge, it makes Judgement Day look super weak and I want Punk never to beat Drew, because how awesome Drew is. That being said I am fine if its the end of Judgement Day. Orton/Cody/KO will be a fun match at Bad Blood or Survivor Series. I like the end of Cody forming the Avengers and then through his own best intentions, he disassembles them which will make him easy for Rock or Solo to beat him at the Rumble or Mania.
I was hopeful Alba and Dawn would continue their reign but giving them back to Bianca and Jade so they split up later for Jade to do their run makes sense. Punk getting his win back to set up a rubber match makes sense for the story too. It won’t be the end of JD either as Balor and Priest still need their match. They were beaten up on Raw and Rhea still needs her proper revenge on Dom and title shot on Liv too and this was the way to get it.
Cody vs Owens was a good opener. The women's tag had some nice spots but I was hoping Dawn and Fyre would retain. Jade vs Bianca at Wrestlemania seems to be the anticipated endpoint but it feels so far away and not many options for them in the mean-time.
The mixed tag was the best match on the show. Rhea choking Dom in the corner and the double Razor Edge spots were cool. Liv was really good throughout the match - loved the sunset flip into the barricade.
Gunther vs Orton was fine and the ending put Gunther over in a big way. I think WWE's long term booking, Wrestlemania to Wrestlemania, has the downside of making these mid-year PPVs feel like a huge holding pattern. But the use of Scotland and Germany has been smart in putting certain wrestlers over or advancing storylines in front of a super hot crowd. It'll be interesting to see how they incorporate Cena into the mix and you would think The Rock has to come back as well.
Punk vs Drew in the ring just hasn't lived up to the incredible hype. A strap match was a terrible choice. How did they think, "Nothing says blood feud like touching all four corners of the ring in succession". A last man standing would have been far better. Or even just a regular street fight. Both matches between them have had a really clunky feel. Way too slow and not nearly violent enough. They should be brawling around the arena, not reaching for turnbuckles.
Maybe a Hell in a Cell will finally do it, but at this point I'm not convinced there's enough chemistry. Drew should be flinging Punk around the ring instead of doing methodical chops. Punk seems to either have ring rust or has just lost a step as he's getting older. I didn't see any full matches from AEW, just highlights, so maybe I'm way off on this. I assumed that Punk was in the mix to headline one of the Wrestlemania nights, as there's so much footage of him saying how disappointed he was that he never got to do that and there's an easy story to mine there. It might be the last big thing he needs to do before retiring. But does it need to happen next year before he gets worse? Is he even good enough to do it at this point when there's so many other options?
I only saw the punk McIntyre match and I thought it was excellent. Can't believe a match involving Damien priest is considered the best of the night.
I’m with Chris…it was just too slow and plodding. Reminded me of those awful plodding matches HHH used to have. I think a street fight or falls count anywhere could’ve served the purpose.
Also I think you’re being a bit harsh on Priest. He’s better than some people give him credit for. Remember he stole the show with Bad Bunny at the Backlash show a while back. He’s also got the look you kinda like so not sure why you’re hating on him tbh.

Damien priest looks like he doesn't know what he's doing in the ring. He sounds robotic. Gunther I just don't like, I don't have a reason.
He was kinda robotic to begin with but his promos have definitely been getting better. Remember English isn’t his first language. He’s been bringing the fire against McIntyre and Rollins in promos most recently. When he goes into his native tongue there’s even more fire there.
I just think maybe part of some of the criticism some people might have was just that they weren’t expecting him to be pushed to a title this soon. It did throw me slightly at first but yeah he’s done an awesome job with it.
Bit late but this was a really show. Cody/KO was solid with a good little story. Tag title match was better than I expected as as much as I am disappointed the Unholy gals lost the belts, they looked stronger than I expected and I like Jade/Bianca so I'm cool with them being champs again. Mixed tag was loads of fun. Rhea still hasn't scored the Riptide on Dom so I suspect that's still coming eventually. Strap match was ok but agree the stip with the posts took away from it. Orton/Gunth was pretty good but not really next level.

I can agree with this, but I am looking forward to Priest vs. Balor. Balor can make a broom look good.
Priest has certainly gotten better, and he had a credible run with the world title. He changed a lot of doubters' opinions during that run. But he hasn't really showed he was capable of carrying anyone lesser than he is to a great match.
Liv has become much more interesting now that she's got a story to work with. It wasn't long ago when Raquel Rodriguez was just tossing her into their opponents.
