    MR/DV of Managers

Blatantly ripped off from a retro wrestling podcast but these always make for good discussion. Selfishly I miss talking wrestling up here and I do not stay current with the product.

I will post a topic each week and you post your Mount Rushmore (top 4) and Death Valley (bottom 4) of a topic.

When it comes to managers I have excluded vallets. (perhaps for another discussion) Also mine come from WWF but yours can be from all over.

    Mount Rushmore:
Bobby the Brain Heenan - to me he is the gold standard. He could talk, take bumps and you could build a full feud around just him if you wanted.
Paul Heyman- He feels like the last true manager left. His early stuff was good as well.
Sherri Martel- She elevated Macho Man, DiBiase and Shawn. She was easy to hate.
Jimmy Hart- The Mouth of the South! He was everywhere and so annoying. I didn't like his face stuff with Hogan in WWF or WcW however.

    Death Valley:
Frenchie Martin- Working with Dino Bravo didn't help either.
Coach- What a let down for Mr. Perfect to go from The Brain to the Coach.
Oliver Humperdink- Face managers rarely work. This one really didn't. Plus he spent a lot of time with Bam Bam who could talk on his own.
Oscar- I was never interested in Men On a Mission and the purple parachute pants were terrible along with his rapping.

    Bobby the Brain Heenan
Paul Heyman. Since we're still in the 5th inning, there's a lot more of him that we can look forward to.
Classy Freddie Blassie - Anyone who'd leave Blassie off a Mt Rushmore of managers is nothin but a pencil neck geek
    Jimmy Hart

I really wanted to put Paul Bearer on this list, because of what he meant to the development of the greatest character of all time.

Not sure I'd agree with your worst list, because you left Lio Rush off. A manager is supposed to help get the wrestler over. Lio tried to make everything about himself, and in doing so, he actually made it worse for Bobby Lashley. Thankfully, MVP came along and not only was able to salvage Lashley, he turned Lashley into the Allmighty.

I am a big fan of what Zeb Coulter did for Jack Swagger, and what Ricardo did for Alberto Del Rio.

    Bobby the Brain:
    Paul Heyman
    Jimmy Hart
    Freddie Blassie

Honorable mentions to Sherri Martel, Mr Fuji, Jim Cornette, Paul Bearer(Percy Pringle), Paul Ellering

As far as worst goes. Hadn't really thought of that.

Oscar for sure. I saw Mo on the indies and that dude could have done all the talking and what not.
Coach. That guy never had a chance
    Frenchie Martin
Honestly a list of others like Babu, Yamaguchi-San, Kim Chee, etc

I'm going off of what I've watched wrestling wise, so Blassie won't be on my list, I'm not a pencil neck geek I'm just not a dinosaur.

Heenan - I enjoyed his work with Perfect and Rude the most
Slick - Just so damn entertaining
Mr. Fuji - Helped Yokozuna and loved him with Demolition
Jim Cornette - Iconic look with the tennis racket, really did a good job in getting you to hate him.

Coach - I just remember that stupid whistle throughout matches.
Jamison - Awful manager for an awful tag team in the Bushwhackers, even if I liked them.
    Sapphire - What the fuck
Luna Vachon - I love Luna, but it sucked she got stuck in a managerial role mostly. Same with Sherri Martel.

I honestly had to look up who Lio Rush was.

I also love Mr. Fuji, and his "very big surprise" he always promised.

Blassie and Slick were two others I really enjoyed. I didn't get full appreciation of Blassie until more recently as I have been watching back through older WWF stuff. I just got to the point where Slick was introduced as having bought 1/2 of Blassie's stable.

Jamison and Kim Chee are two guys who I didn't consider for the list. I didn't think of Jamison as a manager and Kim Chee was a handler. However the Kim Chee stuff was silly because he didn't talk much either and they still needed to add a manager.

    Mount Rushmore

    Bobby Heenan 4 times

    Mount Rushmore 2
    Heenan
    Heyman
    Hart
    Blassie

    DV
    Coach
    Oscar

I'm not sure on the last. So let's mention Armando Estrada. Way over the top and what did he really do for his wrestler? More effective without.

Honestly there have been so many horrible managers over the years hard to really decide which ones were the worst.

I'm gonna take out Slick and put Sunny on my Mount Rushmore. Then demolish her and put Slick back on.

I had just watched that episode of Raw where he came out with Dr Death and they built them their own commentary table.
