Night 1 of Glory Pro's Road Warrior Cup was a blast. Got autograph pic of MxM and a pic with them. They were fantastic in the main event. Never seen Violence is Forever but was pretty impressed with them in their matches last night and they are in the tournament final.

Leaving soon for night two which starts early afternoon. The end of the tag tournament and Danhausen vs Warhorse for Crown of Glory Championship. Should be another good night.

Another good night last night. I think night 1 was a bit more fun. There was some annoying fans at night 2.

Again impressed with Violence is Forever. They did lose the final to the champs but it was another really good match. The tournament was was good stuff.

Danhausen lost but as always entertaining match to end the night.

The last man standing match between Calvin Tankman and Camero Jackson was insane. I really thought one or both of them were going to walk out seriously hurt with some of the bumps they took.

As always just another fun independent show. Next one is same day as Dynasty so they are starting even earlier than their already early time on Sunday so people can do both shows and they are only like 10 minutes from the venue. I am going to pass and probably do the show in May.

Kristal Marshall and Shelton Benjamin also announced for WrestleCade. Not as excited about Kristal, but Shelton would be cool to meet.

Dave Sullivan announced for WrestleCade. No clue who he was, but reading up on him he was in WCW for a few years, so that's why I don't know him.

    Hmmmm.

Commercial during Smackdown for a local promotion doing a fan fest. I think they did one last year. I was just poking around to see who they have coming. Mix of people including Haku and Sgt. Slaughter. Might have to consider this one.

    https://sicw.org/fanfest-ii-may-17-18-2024

$60 for the fan fest and the wrestling show. Not bad but of course then there is money for the meet and greets.

Two local guys named hidden gems according to PWI at least.

I am fan of Warhorse and Dan the Dad. The character change for Warhorse as taken some getting used to but he is doing well with it.

Davey Richards is booked for a show coming up against Trevor Lee. This man was canceled and retired even though he denied all allegations. Even if they are not true people have spoken up about how much of a piece of shit he is anyway. Granted I have no idea one way or the other what is true not true. Saw him more than once before all this went down and he seemed to care for the students he was training from an outsider point of view since I could always see him poking out of the curtain or whatever watching them during shows.

Davey Richards is kind of like Low Ki. They THINK they're actual fighters. They THINK they could go in and fuck everyone up yet we have no clue if these dudes have ever fought in MMA or any actual combat sport. I remember about 10 years ago Davey Richards, Kyle O'Riley, and their trainer Tony Kozina were doing a few local shows here. Just google "Tony Kozina shoots on local Iowa wrestler" if you ever get bored. Just a bunch of nonsense and they fucked over the promoter, tried to fuck up some 16 year old who was just starting out over a promo. I'm not shocked people in the business were 50/50 about some of these cats.

I liked the American Wolves tag team but I never got into their World title reigns in ROH or TNA. Not sure if Davey was TNA champ but again, loved the tag-team. Reminded me of the Kid Kash/Jamie Noble Pitbulls.

I think Davey was going to be pushed into the TNA championship and then he basically retired for multiple years and went into the medical field. Can't remember if he became a nurse or paramedic or what. Then he got back into the scene on the indies and was co-running a wrestling school here in St. Louis and then the allegations came around. He did show up on TNA a couple years back as a surprise in a tag match of TNA people against those ROH people that invaded. He was working MLW but like ran into some issues with them at one point and they didn't renew his contract. He basically lied to the NWA about his availability and MLW found out. They worked it out and he worked the show here in St. Louis but after that they had him drop the midcard title he had and sent him home with like a month or so left on the contract. Sometime after that was when the wife beating allegations hit. The wrestling school dropped him like a bad habit and various indies he was working regularly did the same thing and he basically retired a that point. I heard a mixture of stories on how he was backstage. Definitely seems like he was a dick early in his career but got mixed bag during his time here in St. Louis. So not surprised about what you mentioned.

He was talented for sure. I enjoyed matches that he did. Was not at the matches live but watched good matches with him and Suzuki and Aldis. Was there live for a match with Kingston that was okay. But not sure if he was ever really world title material. I know he won the ROH one but ROH was a little different. The Wolves were definitely a great team.

Anyway was a little surprised to see him booked again and trying to maybe make one more comeback on the indy scene.

I need to get back in the swing of checking out indie shows. I won't lie.....The indie scene is so hit or miss and there are times where I'm like fuck yeah Jon Moxley is going to be there!?!? Then I see he's wrestling some fucking scrawny Colin Delaney looking dude who can't work for shit and you're like....Damn is this worth $20?

Then the match is pretty killer lol

I love Glory Pro. They have some pretty good local talent that are all over the indie scene like Warhorse and Shazza McKenzie. Kody Lane the guy that Starks is wrestling is pretty good as well. Plus they usually are able to bring in one or two bigger names from AEW and TNA . Starks and Danhausen for this one and on a smaller level Effy and Allie Katch mostly due to their connection to GCW. Jake Something is like a regular member of the roster along with Raju Rohit. It is always worth the $20 or $25 I spend. I get to see some bangers and get to see some not so bangers that are still usually entertaining none the less with all the crowd interaction. Plus fun to interact with the wrestlers after the show at the merchandise tables

Meet and Greet before the show with Starks. $40 for photo and signed pic. Probably going to do that. I have a pic with M x M and signed pic from when they were here. A pic with Danhausen and signed pic from one of the many times he was here. Also have a pic with Minoru Suzuki and Davey Richards and a signed pic from a match they did at Glory Pro.

I need to replace my Dan the Dad shirt thanks to my doodles.

I am all set to meet Ricky Starks on Sunday and watch AEW decide to bring him to Full Gear for some reason and he is not able to get to St. Louis in time for the show the next day.

Effy and Brett Lauderdale were talking shit about Tony Khan and now Ricky Starks is pulled from all GCW events. He can still work other indie promotions though according to SRS.

Yet he let Moxley, Shafir, someone else work the GCW show AFTER those comments were made. Starks was pulled probably because of the clips of him on Chris' podcast talking, again, about how he's not hurt and he's been stuck at home for the last 9 months for no reason. Then he brought up about someone popped off that security footage of him was put online of him at the Rumble. I wouldn't be shocked if Tony's goofy ass was trying to be a boss but again, failing miserably.

I want to say this about AEW. Their existence mainly benefits the talent and not really the fans. A guy like Ricky Starks has been in dumbass angle after dumbass angle with a sprinkle of special. Just feels like a situationw here he's in the wrong company. Maybe TNA or WWE would be the better fit. It's like some people in TNA, you wonder if they'd be used better in AEW, NJPW, WWE, etc. Ethan Page went from lower card sidekick w/ a charisma vaccuum to a top player in a 3rd brand show beating the main show that he was barely getting tv time on.

Yeah I feel like Starks is in the wrong company and hopefully he can go somewhere else at some point.

Was he only pulled from GCW events? I wonder if he other stuff booked since he just did Glory Pro and I think he is just looking to wrestle and not sit at home.

I believe the comments that Effy made just happened, or that was my understanding. Effy was also talking about AEW running Hammerstein before GCW does. Did Moxley do something with GCW recently? I thought he hadn't for a while. I know Marina did Bloodsport but that's because TK likes Josh Barnett.

I think the comments were made earlier last week and maybe the fact it was technically Bloodsport is the exception. I just think it's pretty coincidental Starks gets pulled after those clips drop. Hopefully that means dude is going to start showing up on tv again.

There were pictures of Ricky backstage at Full Gear. I was wondering if he would team up with Swerve. Swerve needs someone to help him against The Hurt Syndicate.
