    Favorite type of wrestling

What is your favorite type of wrestling, the classic mat wrestling like FTR/Harts or the high flying crazy stuff like Ricochet/Mysterious or the brawler like Austin? For me it is the classic mat style, it just seems more authentic and poses less risk to the wrestlers health.

I like it all, but hardcore/garbage wrestling is my favorite.

Love it all, but I love the mat stuff. The stuff that you can get lost in and believe it's real. So Bret, Danielson, Malenko etc. Angle too, but he was deffo a hybrid. Angle was something else, actually, and after Bret is probably my favourite to watch.

Not to crap on John Cena, although I guess I am, but you know that shit isn't real when he gets in there.

And I love John Cena, by the way.

Good old fashion classic tag team wrestling is my favorite. Not that I don't like the Lucha Bros and Young Bucks but sometimes they don't tell a story in their matches. Sometimes they do. I think that is why I love FTR so much.

I don’t think I have a favorite, I can enjoy anything except death matches.

But I’m curious as to what categories other wrestlers fall under and should there be more categories? Is HBK a mat wrestler, hybrid or something else? What about the samoan guys like Yoko, Umaga and Roman? They aren’t mat guys nor would I consider them brawlers.

I like ECW/Attitude Era craziness, however I think the beauty of wrestling is the story trumps whatever style it is.

I don't think I've ever been more pumped than WCW's cruiserweight era. Rey Mysterio... Billy Kidman... Psicosis... Juventud... Eddie... Jericho... lord, even the 6 man tags w/ Silver King and El Dandy and Super Calo were always entertaining as hell.

All of it. It's almost impossible for me to narrow down a particular style. I can find just as much enjoyment out of Roddy Piper v. Hulk Hogan at Starrcade 1996 as I can RVD v. Sabu in a stretcher match.

I guess if I could pick a style it'd something like Shawn Michaels v. Diesel or even more recently Roman Reigns v. Matt Riddle. I like seeing a guy who is more of a brawler powerhouse guy working with someone that is more of a hybrid versatile type. Brock Lesnar v. Kurt Angle, great chemistry. AJ Styles v. Samoa Joe is another legendary battle.

So for me it's like MMA where you have someone who is maybe more of a wrestler versus an unorthodox kickboxer with submissions. Sometimes when you see 2 wrestlers or 2 flashy kickboxers fight it gets boring. You have to have a balance and while I fucking love seeing matches like Danielson v. Paul London 2-3 falls or Undertaker v. Diesel at Mania, I feel like we get more out of matches like Undertaker v. HBK or shit even Bret v. HBK. Guys who can have a different match each time they wrestle because their styles are sort of the same but different enough to where it's not just spot after spot.
