BTW betting this week sucks. I'll put a little on the Titans at +1 and a little on the Raiders at -1.5 but honestly I don't much care for any game this week.

    And it was.

And good thing for the Titans too. Because if one other thing was apparent today it was this...Malik is not ready at all to be starting in this league.

    Notes:

    - Not a shock, but the Jets have a QB problem on their hands now. Good to see Elijah Moore came back and essentially did nothing lol. The Patriots and Dolphins took care of business.
    - The Ravens got a much-needed win on Thursday. They're dealing with some notable injury issues but if they can keep the run going, they should be decent.
    - The Steelers seem to be imploding a bit offensively. Pickett threw a grenade saying the the offense doesn't seem to be doing enough in terms of preparation. Also notable that Bill Cowher put the organization on notice about putting Pickett in a situation where his confidence could be shattered.
    - The Titans did what they needed to do. Not overly enthused with Willis' game but it didn't matter because Henry was Henry.
    - The Colts looked okay with Elhinger in there today, but two costly fumbles derailed them.
    - The Texans are an abhorrent disaster.
    - The Jaguars just need Lawrence to calm down. He does a nice job not taking sacks but he's trying to do too much when he's out of the pocket.
    - I think it's notable that the Broncos didn't quit on Hackett when things looked bleak early in the game. You saw glimpses of what everyone thought this team would be here. Let's see what comes of it.

    - The Cowboys definitely found their footing on offense today. Parsons needs to be in the MVP conversation. That said, their run defense seems to be their Achilles heel.
    - Seems like the Giants really took it on the chin with the special teams errors. That was a tough situation for them so while a loss stinks, they battled valiantly in this one. Still looking up coming out of the bye week.
    - Heinicke seems to be willing to put on the cape for the Commanders. They weren't the better team but they did enough at the end to secure the win.
    - The Eagles are a massive problem. They've got a soft schedule but they're doing what you should with a soft schedule.
    - The Vikings keep finding the formula for victory. They're staying balanced on offense, avoiding critical mistakes, and looking for the opposition to make those mistakes.
    - I think the Bears offense is trending up but it still has a lot of work to do.
    - The Lions are well on their way to a top-3 pick.
    - The NFC South is just a pigsty.
    - The Niners absolutely wrecked the Rams. CMC is really fitting in nicely for the Niners. The Seahawks are riding a solid wave. There's no rhyme, reason, or consistency to the Cardinals. I said it when it was announced that they were going to be super interesting as the in-season Hard Knocks team. It feels like there's chaos waiting to happen there.

At least the Lions made sure I didn't have to care about watching them by the start of November. Now I just sit back and wait for the Michigan Panthers in the spring.

This is massive for the Ravens. They needed a guy just like this. Now maybe they can hold lead.

    Hock + two 4th rounders to the Vikings for 2023 2nd and a 2024 3rd.

No word yet on a potential Cam Akers trade. Hines from Indy is also rumored to be on the move.

Wish the Titans would go get a wr but GM Jon Robinson doesn't like to trade for wrs. He likes to draft wrs, develop them, watch them become top 5 in the league and then trade them to the Eagles for a cheesesteak and a mullet.

Pretty surprised Detroit traded Hock in division but I think he hit his ceiling in terms of productivity. Should work out well for Minnesota as long as he doesn't flame out due to injury. He's going to be a really nice fit as a versatile weapon (blocker and PA threat).

I like Chicago giving it a try with Claypool. I don't think he's a one, like Mooney, but it's an attempt to see what he can do with Fields.

Buffalo clearly was thirsty as hell for a receiving back. They wanted McKissic and he bailed. They drafted Cook but still wasn't getting a lot of usage. They were tied to any receiving back worth a damn in the trade market. Think Hines will be a nice fit.

Good moves by Miami and Baltimore with their defensive acquisitions.

I like Falcons at +3 at home tomorrow. Chargers can't stop the run. All the Falcons do is run.

Kind of like the Packers even at -3.5 and the Pats at -4.5 but I don't love the numbers. Gonna wait and see if I can them at 3 and 4

Malik Willis is the worst QB I have ever seen that has started a game. Oh my God, I was losing it watching that idiot run around like a chicken with its head cut off. Convert him to a WR or TE position or cut his ass loose.

Henry is absurd. But he has a huge workload. The way the Titans compete they're not the team to write off against anybody. They took the Chiefs to overtime with that QB play. Last year they took the 1 seed without Henry for the back half of the season. Well coached, they know how to play to the strengths, and have that special playmaker that gives them a shot. They NEED to be able to pass the ball though. Henry can't do it by himself. There's always a tension on passing downs even with Tannehill, but losing Brown was a mistake. I know the structure is to pay the players that support the gameplan, but the gameplan doesn't work as well with the threat of play action dwindling. Woods hopefully grows into the season otherwise it'll be hard to threaten from a defecit.

Reich gone. He's had some of the worst QB options since he took over. Rivers and Ryan were head scratchers in a more mobile league, despite historic productivity, and Wentz was cooked. Even still, only losing season was the one Luck retired on the eve of. Not sure if there's better options out there honestly, he's been let down by bad business at the business position. Jags are getting good too, and with the Texans surely drafting twice in the top 15, they're in trouble going forward.

wouldn't be surprised to see reich end up as OC of the jags if he doesn't get any looks for a HC job. the eagles offense really struggled post super bowl once reich left the OC spot for the indy gig. grouping back up with pederson and a young qb could work to get the stink of the mess he had to endure in indy off him.

    - Football isn't complicated
    - Jeff Saturday is the next Don Shula
    -- Analytics are bad
    - There were no other options for coach (except the next Don Shula)
    - Drugs are great

    Notes:

    - Buffalo and Miami concern me in terms of their upside based on their defense. Allen is making critical errors at the end of drives, but I'm more concerned with their health in the secondary. The Miami offense is clinical, but their inability to be consistent on the other side of the ball may cost them.
    - Pittsburgh needs an OL in the worst way imaginable.
    - What a win by Indianapolis. It's messy as hell though because you have to imagine Reich was told to bench Ryan and Saturday gets him back in there today.
    - Jacksonville wasn't aggressive enough to stay in the hunt against Kansas City. I still think things are trending up for TLaw.
    - CEH is absolutely the bust of busts for KC. Yikes.
    - Las Vegas is in a world of trouble now.
    - It's trending like one-and-done for Hackett in Denver.

    - Dallas continues to be exposed a bit in the sense that if you've got a run game, you're going to stay in the game against them.
    - Golladay has to be fully washed in New York.
    - What a wild, wild game for Minnesota. Cousins feels like one of the biggest X-factors in a wide-open NFC right now.
    - Detroit gets back-to-back wins over Green Bay and Chicago. Sheesh.
    - Fields is finding his form in Chicago but their defense now (obviously) has fallen hard. I don't know how sustainable it will be to keep Fields rushing this much, but he's electric as he does it.
    - Big effort by Watson for Green Bay. He's either had catastrophic drops or tough injuries to start his rookie season, so the breakout was much-needed today.
    - That was potentially a season-saving win for Tampa. They found their run game and that really kept them on schedule.
    - Looks like it's back to Jameis time in New Orleans.
    - Tough loss for Seattle but I'm not too concerned about them right now. I think they'll be alright.
    - Arizona didn't look any worse for wear on offense with McCoy instead of Murray but that might speak more to the ineptitude of Los Angeles. It feels like both of those teams are drawing very dead.

Me, as a Niners fan, watching Russ Wilson stink up the joint makes me so happy. But when I realize that the Seahawks are laughing their asses off with two Broncos picks in the top 40 this Spring, I get sad.

Seattle to get their next franchise QB and another game changer without even touching their own draft picks. Fuck.

If the playoffs started today, all four teams in the AFC East would get in and three of the four in the NFC East would get in.

I mean he can't keep rushing in EVERY game like this? Right?

This game has been ridiculous. I was waiting for Jalen's arm to fall off on the last play. Or the football to magically turn into a pigeon and fly away mid-pass.

I like the Titans tonight. Packers still have Rodgers but beating the cowboys was just a choke job, Titans have the better coach and the only thing the snow and wind is going to do is make it more our style of game and less of theirs.

If the Titans can stay healthy going into the playoffs, they'll be in the conversation again. The offence isn't where it was 2-3 years ago with AJ Brown, Corey Davis and Jonnu Smith, but it's easy to forget we were winning shootouts and needed that explosive offence due to the defence not being great. This defence, if healthy, is absolutely formidable. There are limitations on offence, but when 23 points is good enough for a win in all but 1 game in the 10, they're not damaging limitations. The Bills, Chiefs, Ravens, Bengals and Dolphins will be favoured because of better quarterback play, but you can just as easily see Allen giving up 3 picks or Burrow getting put on the ground 10 times.

Vikings vs. Cowboys probably the game of the weekend. Minnesota are fun to watch this year. Dallas need a big win after the choke job last weekend. Division is still in play for them, but Vikings and Giants back to back could have them on the edge of being caught for a wild card spot.

    Notes:

    - The Jets absolutely have a problem at QB now. To a smaller degree, the Patriots do as well, but they've got schematic issues too. The Bills stopped the bleeding a bit but I'm still concerned about their overall level of health.
    - The Titans feel like they're comfortably in the driver's seat for the division after the Colts wasted the game away today. The Colts really let the Eagles off the hook.
    - I can't imagine that Hackett is going to make it to next season as HC. Doesn't look like Vegas quit on their HC today, so that's somewhat promising.

    - The NFC East joins the AFC East by having all of their teams above .500. I think there's more questions than answers starting to come around for the Eagles. Commanders have to keep riding the hot hand. The Cowboys really will be kicking themselves for that letdown last week. They've got a chance to really make some noise with two wins in a short spurt here.
    - The Vikings are 8-2 and have a point differential of minus-two. Yikes. The Lions really bullied the Giants around today. First three-game winning streak since 2017. Feels like if he's already not set to miss time, we're counting down until Fields has to miss time. Too many hits being taken in this new expanded role for him.
    - The Buccaneers didn't get help during their bye week. I think the Saints are skating by but they are eventually going to have to fade Dalton and move on.
    - The Rams are atrocious.

3 decent games for Thanksgiving. Bills vs. Lions will be a fun one. Plenty of offense I'd imagine. I wouldn't want to write the Lions off from playoff contention honestly - win this (big ask, but the Bills aren't in outstanding form and the Lions are on a 3-match win streak) and they're only 2 games behind the loser of the next game, with an on paper easier schedule. We'll see. But they look like a team that if they gain belief from this game, they'll go on a run. I do think the Bills will win but not in a blowout.

Cowboys vs. Giants - big divisional game, big franchises, big stakes. Must win for both - I wouldn't write the Cowboys off from top seed looking at their schedule. Yet I think it's must-win for the Giants given theirs. The Commanders vs. Falcons winner will be nipping at the heels. For where they have come from, I think it's a huge game for them and if they win, they're absolutely contenders. I'm leaning the Cowboys, but this is going to be a physical game.

Vikings vs. Patriots, Vikings still chasing the top seed, Patriots on the playoff bubble. Got to go with Bill on a short week with the momentum of the last 3 games and the Vikings coming off a blowout. I think Minnesota run it conservatively, get in a 2 score hole and end up throwing a costly INT when chasing.

Lions could be trouble for Bills who play like shit in close games.

Cowboys should stomp the Giants who have been totally figured out on offense.

Vikings/Pats - I actually can't wait for this one. Vikings just got embarrassed. Epicly embarrassed. Painfully, humiliating embarrassed. So they should be fired up.

Dan Campbell and the crew ruined that with clock management inside of the final two minutes. Detroit really is trending up, though.

The Cowboys are a big, big problem as long as they avoid the self-inflicted wounds. Their run defense is a problem but it can be managed if they avoid the stupid penalties and crippling turnovers.

Potential referendum may be in order for the Vikings. That said, the Patriots looked extremely un-Patriot like with the mental mistakes.

    Notes:

    - Rough week for injuries for the Dolphins. Hopefully that doesn't derail them too much.
    - Remains to be seen if White is the "answer" for the Jets but Wilson certainly isn't at this point. Good for Saleh and the front office to be on the same page here with the decision or at least giving enough rope to get to this week. Garrett Wilson and Moore look good when there's an actual QB back there. Go figure!
    - What a sloppy game for the Ravens. The idea that the fullback has to be a prominent weapon in the pass offense for them is so absurd. It felt like they were kind of sleepwalking through that game as a whole and they got burned for it.
    - Very gritty win for the Bengals. That style of play totally fit the Titans style and the Bengals just held their ground.
    - What a breakout win for TLaw and the Jaguars. The run game wasn't going to be there for them and Etienne went down early, but Lawrence just led them. Good assertiveness to go for the win at the end, too.
    - The Texans are gross.
    - The defense definitely bailed out the Chargers today. The OL issues are so, so rough for them. Herbert led them down for two leads in two weeks. It just luckily cashed out for them this week. Make or break stretch for them for three weeks now (at Raiders, host Dolphins and Titans).
    - Feels like the Raiders lucked into that win because they were way too conservative late in regulation.

    - This is looking like an awful weekend for the Giants. They may lose sight of the Wild Card picture very quickly.
    - The Bears are the walking wounded right now.
    - The NFC South is absolutely gross. The coaching let down the Buccaneers in the second half and it ultimately cost them a very winnable game. The Falcons need to be put out of their misery so they can see about Ridder. Baker Mayfield must truly, truly suck. The Saints really need to consider going back to Winston because their offense is really messy right now.
    - Niners are hitting a tough injury bug on offense right now. Shouldn't derail them but it's definitely worth monitoring.
    - The Rams showed good fight but they're totally outmanned right now.
    - Cardinals and Seahawks both skidding with two losses in a row. Seahawks should be okay, but I've got not faith in the Cardinals.

White looked great against the Bears which they knew he would so now they can keep going with him instead of Wilson. Which is what they need to do if they want to have a shot at a playoff run.

Bengals beat my Titans at their own game. Very impressive Bengals. If we meet again we are going to fucking break you.

Who is the fucking conditioning coach for rhe 49ers? These guys are ALWAYS hurt. Always. They should be a super bowl favorite right now regardless of how much everyone wants to see Jimmy G fail. But how can you trust a team that beat up?

I wouldn't bet real money against New England because that's not my way, but for my phony 2022 betting record I'll take Bills -3.5 tonight. The Pats played well in Minnesota on Thanksgiving but I'm not confident in them pulling an upset tonight. Lay the points.

    I fucked up.

I put everything on K.C. to cover -2.5

    I fucked up

So the Titans have a Todd Downing problem and it's getting worse (not better Mike Vrable. Worse) This is the most basic ass offense I've seen in forever. I don't give a shit if we don't have the weapons. So what? What we do doesn't work against any half way decent defense. Period.

I haven't watched game plans like this since early 90s SEC football. It's fucking awful.

    Notes:

    - The Bills messing around and adding a tough running attack and quick game attack out of the backfield is going to make the opposition think.
    - The Patriots are just in a world of hurt across the board. They really need someone who actually knows offense to run the offense.
    - I think the Jets are trending positively. They really hung tough on the road today but just didn't have enough. Growing pains for White, but the team believes in him.
    - The Dolphins really met their match in the Niners. The D for the Niners really is one of the few out there that can negate what the Dolphins want to do. Have to see how serious this ankle is for Tua.
    - It appears I will be wrong on thinking the Bengals will miss the playoffs. Their resolve the last two weeks, combined with the Ravens just falling apart (with Lamar being hurt) certainly opens the door for the Bengals to be in the playoffs.
    - Watching Jaguars/Lions, it feels like the Jags are a year or so behind the timeline the Lions are on. TLaw got incredibly luck not to shred his knee before halftime.
    - The Chargers are one game closer to trading a pick to the Saints for a coach that can maximize Herbert. That said, the OL (injuries) and D (execution) were terrible today.

    - A tie in football is gross. I guess that'll likely help the Giants (who probably need it more than the Commanders) in terms of hanging on in the playoff picture.
    - Two strong weeks for the Vikings after getting emasculated by the Cowboys.
    - The Lions are really trending the right way. I'm curious to see how another strong draft class works for them.
    - The Falcons are annoying average. They just establish "it" and find ways to stay in the game. At this rate, we'll never know what they have in Ridder lol.
    - Another brutal week of injuries for the Niners. That said, I'm not that worried about their chances. Purdy doesn't need to take the team to a new level. He just needs to keep things on schedule. Keep showing poise, stay on schedule in the offense and trust the weapons on both sides of the ball. Do I think they're in the driver's seat in the NFC? No, but I think they'll be okay as long as they don't suffer more injuries.

Niners/Eagles in the playoffs could be epic.

Bills are now my lone favorite for winning it all. They finally figured out what winning football is. Get a lead, run the ball, eat the clock, wear the opponent down.

Yes it's boring. And boring wins championships.

This team has the talent. Have had the talent but now they're admitting what they need to do to win. And it isn't Allen doing his best Mahomes impression either.

I know the Saints are dog shit but I'm not taking the Bucs to win anything. Everything has to be about Brady so it never comes up but Arians knew how to coach this team. Without him they play like ass. Can't catch, can't run, can't block, passes doink right off guys helmets like they had no idea they were even an option. It's fucking horrible to look at.

That would very much surprise me. I could see him and Belichick getting back together under the right circumstance, I mean I don't think the bridge is fully burnt between them, however I don't think the circumstances line up to what Brady would be looking for. The Patriots offense is not looking good and they won't splurge on offense in the offseason to lure him back. He will go to greener pastures if he stays playing.

IMO he would never retire mid-season unless they were eliminated from the playoffs, and they're currently the 4 seed in the NFC. They'll likely be hosting a playoff game in January. I'm not going to talk up the Bucs because they clearly suck, but stranger things have happened than a bad team getting hot and making a run. Their defense at least looked good last night, and the comeback was fun. I expect them to be one-and-done when a team like Dallas comes to town for Wild Card Weekend, but they could pull an upset.

Ok well, huge news in Titans land.

GM Jon Robinson has been fired. J Rob has been (until this season) very popular in Nashville as the team has gotten better during his tenure and the only reason Vrabel is the coach is because of his relationship with Robinson. The two were considered 2 peas in a pod as they always have each other's backs in the press and have even signed simultaneous extensions earlier this year.

BUT J Rob's abilities have been questioned more and more the last couple years. As it looked increasingly like Mike Vrabel was the real reason the Titans have had consistent success in spite of J Rob, not because of him. Only 2 of the 7 first rounders J Rob picked in the draft since 2016 are still here and NONE have gotten a second contract (this will change with Simmons) and on top of that Robinson has come under fire for seeming to believe he's actually much better at his job than he is. Consistently letting veteran or star players go because he can replace them with someone cheaper. A strategy that seems to have never really worked out.

Then there was AJ Brown...oh boy. Any Titans fan will tell you that we have only had TWO real recievers since the team moved to town over 20 years ago. Mason and Brown.

And honestly Mason was no AJ Brown. Brown exemplified Vrabel's brand of Titans football. Big, strong, tough, a fighter and team first. Vrabel even said last year that as long as he was head coach that the Titans would NEVER trade his beloved star wide reciever.

...then they traded him. The team that never had a star reciever traded their star reciever to the Eagles for a bag of chips and a soda to be named later. And while his replacement via the draft Treylon Burks has shown sparks of being special, the Titans are absolute dogshit on offense right now. This season AJ Brown by himself has more TDS than all the wide reicevers on the Titans combined.

We are hopeless. We cannot score 20 points. We are beyond fucked. The only reason we own a winning record is the borderline genius coaching of Mike Vrabel.

And then the Eagles game happened this weekend. We were smoked. Boat raced. Made to look like amateurs. Philly took us out behind the woodshed and spanked our asses raw. AJ Brown lit us up and afterwards came nearly to tears when explaining how difficult it was for him because all he really wanted was to stay in TN and remain a Titan.

Amy Adams Strunk has had enough and Jon Robinson, once thought to be the main force behind the Titans new era, is fucking fired.

Yea that was surprising news and that's some good insight you posted. I have mixed feelings about the AJ Brown trade, but your comments do make it seem like a major blunder. In a vacuum, drafting Brown in the 2nd round, getting 3 great years out of him and swapping him for a 1st and 3rd is a good job by the GM. I would love my team's next 2nd round pick to have that yield. But given their woes in the passing game, signing him to one of these new aged giant WR contracts was probably the move. It didn't work out so well like it did for the Vikings who immediately replaced Diggs with JJ. Maybe Burks will still become that.

It would be different if we had even had a decent second option at reciever. Burks is a rookie. Maybe he becomes something special but the Derrick Henry window is closing and we would have had a real shot this year with AJ still on the team and it's painfully obvious to everyone.

In a vacuum yeah, the trade was fair enough. But to a team that has basically never been able to draft guys to catch the ball he meant far more than he might have meant to another team. Plus like I said, he was made to be a Titan. A Vrabel Titan. You have to hold GMs accountable and while AJ wasn't his only mistake it was definitely his biggest. During a season when we have no offense, going to Philly and having AJ run wild on the Titans was probably the final straw.

Rumors of a power struggle between Vrabel and Robinson have circulated for months. I think Amy Adams picked the right guy.

I gave up on the second Enchanted Disney flick - fell asleep and won't bother to watch any more. I liked the first one but did something happen to that Amy Adams? I guess 15 years can do that to the best of them.

Good for Baker. That's a feel good story if you like the guy and I do. My feeling is someone is going to give him a shot next year. Might not be with a winner but someone will.

I didn't think about this but if someone does, the Rams could get a compensatory pick since they claimed him. They need all the help they can get so this was a shrewd move for them, regardless.

Baker is someone I could see McVay falling in love with too. But this all depends on what the hell is wrong with Stafford and if he comes back.

    It's officially happened.

Hell, Michigan has frozen over and the Lions have cleanly beaten a playoff team. 5 out of six games are wins. I officially think they are on the right path.

I love this because Dan Campbell seems like a great coach but if the team didn't eventually start to improve they would have had to fire him and start over.

    Also love this for Goff.

You might as well jump on the Lions hype train, because the Titans are a first round exit and a complete dumpster fire.

What a day. The Lions are playing competent football and Brady was getting beat and humiliated by a man half his age so bad, Fox switched it over to the Seattle/Carolina game.

    Notes:

    - Mike White is one tough dude. He took a beating back there but kept coming back. That's going to endear him even more to that team. Was a defensive battle early on with the Bills but they couldn't keep pace once the game started to open up.
    - Depends on what the Ravens are looking to accomplish based on their record, but today's win should definitely help ease some concerns with trying to rush Jackson back.
    - The Steelers got godawful offensively when Pickett went out of the game. Considering that was early, that made for a very long game for them.
    - The Jaguars have to be the team with the widest variance to deal with on a week-to-week basis. One thing is for certain, TLaw is figuring it out. In light of the surprise departure of the GM, the loss here is less than ideal from an optics standpoint for the Titans. The Jaguars are still in the picture for the division but it's still likely to presume the Titans will take that.

    - The Giants have lost most of the juice they had earlier this season.
    - The Lions made Vegas look smart this week with the line. They're trending in the right direction and they're a sneak dark horse to take a playoff spot. They have the tiebreakers over both the Commanders and Giants, so watch out. The report coming out today about the Lions intending to stick with Goff is an interesting one. They're in a spot where many would say they're poised to pounce on an opportunistic QB situation (whether that be through the draft or the trade market), but Goff has played well and he generally does when he has a good OL. He's got a good OL now.
    - The Saints absolutely blew it on Monday night. They would've had a chance to really still be in the thick of it in the putrid NFC East but they just messed up big time. We could have had everyone 5-8 in there if they handled their business Monday.
    - The Buccaneers are bad but they're not as bad as their performance today. Still have to think they'll make the playoffs but it will be gross on Super Wild Card Weekend for them.
    - Things went about as I anticipated for the Niners. Losing Deebo is not good but Purdy looked good. He's got good moxie in the pocket. His arm doesn't come off as powerful but his footwork and body control in the pocket helps extend plays when they quickly break down. Good poise by him.
    - The Seahawks kind of strike me as a team in a similar spot to the Lions in the sense they're in a spot where they could probably draft a QB but you can make an incredibly strong case that they just need to keep rolling with who they have.

Massive win for the Chargers. Brilliant game for Herbert. There's a blueprint now for McDaniel and the offense in Miami. If you press and attempt to take the middle of the field away, that creates problems for the offense. You're going to get burned defensively with that press coverage because Waddle and Hill are legit, but it slows them down and forces the offense off schedule.

Have been all season. Nobody watches Titans games outside of TN so the national media hasn't seen it but we have no depth and no weapons. That's what got J Rob fired. Vrabel is just holding this thing together with no more than the strength of his haircut and mustache.

This is what pisses me off so much about the Colts. Had they been able to play as well as people expected them to, they’d be in first place in the division right now. Instead they wanted to just do…nothing.

Denico Autry out again for the Titans. That means no pass rush again. Put your money on the Chargers to cover and the score to over.
