These 2 things make no sense to me

"I have been wrestling for (insert long time), you can't beat me!" - Well really shouldn't someone younger and less broken down be able to beat someone? You see it all the time in boxing and MMA, older beaten down athlete loses to younger, faster, stronger, healthier athlete.

"I am x time world champion" - Erm, good for you? It means you lost x amount of times as well, you want to impress me? Be a 1 time champion who holds it for a long time.

Just 2 things that always make me go when I hear them, maybe someone on here can explain to me why they are good things who knows.

I’m not sure if this is something better served in the VIP thread rather than it’s own thread but anyway I’ll answer the question.

It’s basically to show off their experience and accolades to show how accomplished they are. Although I think it was RVD IIRC correctly who funnily pointed that logic flaw out to someone in a storyline saying “Wow so you lost the belt that many times too huh?”

That, "That means you lost it X amount of times" thing gets brought up quite a bit by opponents/commentary.

I remember it being particularly funny when RVD did it. It was his deadpan delivery.

It doesn't make sense to say "you lost it that many times too" because nobody has been a forever champion. It's basically just assumed that you're going to lose the belt at some point. I mean you know you have a target on your back and with money in the bank, etc. it becomes harder to hold on to the championship. To me that would be like saying "you're a 2 time Royal Rumble winner? Okay well how many did you lose?"

The Man never lost her title. She got pregnant and gave it away.

And of course, Trish Stratus won her then record setting 7th women's title before retiring with the belt.

I think a thread criteria that is never brought up is how many times you have successfully defended the championship.
Your status as champion should really be defined as a combination of all three.
