After Charlotte was off the card I would've preferred Asuka have an open challenge, leading to Io Shirai going for the title at Mania. Keeps Ripley as a face, and maybe put her on Smackdown instead. All three shows would have an awesome women's division without it being too heavy in one's favor.

If Io was a one-time match and she went back to NXT, it definitely would be favoring towards Smackdown. If Io was going to Raw, I'd still be inclined to think Smackdown was getting the better end of the stick. They'd be getting Rhea (according to you), have Sasha and Bianca, possibly getting Becky and still have Bayley.

IIRC, via the main page, Lacey was supposed to go over Asuka at Elimination Chamber, which ostensibly would have resulted in Charlotte v Lacey (c) at Mania.

I don't think promotions generally have an idea for everyone. In terms of storylines at least. It's just not possible and nothing unusual. Find me an era where every wrestler was in an angle, it doesn't exist.

It's worse when they have such a gigantic roster and they don't do those super quick matches on ppv like they did back in the day. You could 13 matches on one night for Mania, under 3 hours, but it would result in shit like the Hart Foundation going over in 20 seconds-in Canada-at Mania 6.
