I almost voted for Madden 93 but in the end played hockey and basketball games a bit more.
Top Gear might be my favorite racing game on the SNES. I didn’t play many of them but had Top Gear and wore that game out.
Batman Forever is a very frustrating game.
So is Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts but for different reasons.

Cybernator very underrated and got a decent soundtrack too. You get the best weapon too if you go through the first level not killing anything but the boss. It was a remake of the original Assault Suits Valken which features a dark scene where the evil president commits suicide which was cut from the SNES game (spoilers below):
I had no idea they even made a Top Gear 2 until this past spring when I was quarantined. Found it and bought it instantly. It's good, just don't have the time I spent with the original.

The FIFA 95 entry has come up International Soccer but after double checking your list just now I see you rated International Soccer as well. So is it FIFA 96 you meant? I see there was a FIFA 95 for Sega. Did you think that was it? I didn't research that one too much because I didn't think much of it because it only got the 1 vote.
Harvest Moon was a tough cut for me.
The soundtrack is dope but that's about it for me. I never had the time for games like this but one of my best friends did and I would just chill watching him play.
I like games like that when I'm smoking. I can play and get lit right up at the same time.

Toy Story is a great shout. I almost put that one on my list, but I couldn't quite put it above others, and I think I played it more on the Genesis. Adventures of Batman and Robin also the superior Batman game. And shit, I actually played a lot of Ken Griffey as a kid because my friend played it all the time and kicked my ass.
I'm legit floored that I'm the only person who voted for Kirby Superstar. Pretty sure it was in my Top 5 last time I did this list.
Also, I highly recommend Legend of the Mystical Ninja. Especially if you have the capability to play 2-player. Such a hidden gem on the SNES.
On that same note, I also recommend Mystical Ninja on the N64 as well, but that's for another list...
I've never played it but I had Kirby Star Stacker for Gameboy, that was fun.
I had never actually played Kirby Superstar until maybe a year ago. Super fun but no nostalgia for it at all.

That's definitely fair. That's actually the case for Legend of the Mystical Ninja for me as far as the lack of nostalgia. But I had so much fun tearing through it with one of my friends that I had to add it to the list.
I definitely played Kirby Superstar when it first came out, though, so I have a lot of nostalgic attachment.
It was kind of a sequel to Kick Off. Played a horizontal top down view as opposed to vertical. Well it may have done both actually I can't remember.
It wasn't Lothar Matthaus (I still enjoy the fact that the game is just called Lothart Matthuas, no soccer or football on the end, does what it says on the tin etc) but it was pretty good.
Was I really the only one to vote for Shadowrun? That really surprised me (I suppose there is a good chance that hardly anybody played it though...)
I've heard great things, but it was completely off my radar as a kid, and I just never got around to it. But the more it gets put in my face, the more I begin to salivate.

Love some Empire but when it came to the SNES Trilogy games I liked Jedi more. I actually had Jedi so I logged many hours into that game.
NHL 95 was my go to hockey game for many years. I played through a few seasons and always loved getting the end of years awards in the game.
The Breath of Fire games are excellent. Unfortunately, I never got that far into II and never played I, so I didn't feel right putting them on my list. It's a shame II didn't make the cut.
I love III and IV on the PSX, though.
Uniracers is also a great blast of nostalgia. I remember renting that game a few times.
BOF3 is one of my favourite games. So many little charming touches throughout the game.
Couldn't really get in to IV that much.
Yeah, BoF 3 is probably the one I enjoyed the most. I only put the original ahead of BoF2 because I finished the first one. I’ve been meaning to replay 2 on Switch, but just haven’t gotten around to it yet.
It's been a long time since I played IV, so it might not hold up as much, as I hear most people complain about it. I always preferred III, but I got pretty deep into IV back when it first came out.
The music in III gives me life.
I bought BoF II on the Wii virtual console, so I have no excuse at this point now that it's on Switch, too.
They announced today that Donkey Kong Country 3 is coming to the switch SNES online thing on the 18th.
You know what ruins Jedi? The first fucking level. Holy shit I remember it took me like an hour to get past the first level I sucked.
So happy to see Uniracers get some love. Didn't make my top 20 but I fucking LOVED that game at one point.

Yeah each level took a good amount of practice. It took me forever to escape the exploding Death Star at the end. Hours and Hours of practice but I did it eventually.
Just a fun game to pick up and play. Really enjoyed it.
What an idea. A side scrolling racing game where you do fighting game-like button combos to do tricks which makes you go faster. I used to go into the options menu and change the name of all the unicycles to Mortal Kombat characters.

Mortal Kombat Armageddon. My personal favorite. I love that you can create your own fighter and it has every single MK character up until that point including Zombie Liu Kang.

Also going to try and get more games on my SNES mini outside the usual 21. Googled it and may have found a way but not sure if legit. If anyone here has a SNES mini and has a way to get more games on there then that would be great.

I have no idea how people do that Raspberry Pi stuff. I'd love to have one too though. Still have the regular SNES though with a fuck ton of games. I added a bunch to the collection over quarantine too, like Hook, 3 Ninjas Kick Back, Top Gear 2 and a hack sequel More Zombies Ate My Neighbors, among others. I'd be curious to know how many I got now.
Playing DKC on the SNES mini which has renewed my hatred for the Gorilla Glacier level! Got through the first bit my accidentally discovering a path at the bottom after the halfway barrel but by gawd renewed my childhood hatred and also praise! I will vent and also praise more when this comes up.

I have never ever got Mortal Kombat and have always thought it was shit. Shit characters, shit moves (every does the same kicks and punches), forgettable music and stages and I hate that digitized graphic look that was used back then.
I should have probably saved that for when MK makes it's appearance but i was getting a lot of mentions so just had to say my piece!
Street Fighter would batter Mortal Kombat in a fight...
I have a Raspberry Pi with pretty much every game pre PS1 on.
I do tend to turn it on, fiddle around a bit and then turn it off again though once the nostalgia wears off.
I may try some old school JRPGs on it over Christmas though. Ys, games like that.
That is understandable and do agree as I have an SF game rated higher than MK games but came out at the peak time where most of us on here maybe old enough saw blood and fatalities which SF didn’t have thinking it was the best thing ever and prob manipulating our parents into buying it or telling us off when they realised what was going on but regardless had a big impact.
SF is the better more complete franchise though.
I am pleased for Mario Paint getting a placing though I never personally played it.
Mega Man though aware of, my first proper glimpse of him was Captain N (disgustingly Mick Foley like cheap pop) and a brief run much later in life on the SNES mini.
Mega Man X3 has some bad ass music.

I actually had Hyper Dimension in my shortlist. Such a great game.
I never got to play very much of X2, and don't think I played past the opening stage of X3. I remember really liking X2, but it doesn't hit me in the feels the same way the original X does. So I opted to give that space to another game.
That said, I've been itching to finally go back and play those two properly.
I get the blood and fatalities thing (well actually personally I don't, give me Guile throwing up after a heavy punch to the gut instead) I just think the game is awful gameplay wise.
Everything feels really, I dunno it's hard to explain, lightweight maybe? Moves don't feel like they have any impact which is saying something when you are actually ripping someones spinal cord out.... as I said I don't know what the later games are like but I hated MK back then, it lacked any charm.

One of the best and weirdest action/platformer/trip through the inside of an intestinal tract that ends with a quiz show games of all time.
Contra III is an all time great shooter. Doesn't get enough love due to it being a 1st year title and no save feature.

I'm also pro-Street Fighter. No doubt we will talk about it later on, but Street Fighter 2 is one of the most iconic games ever. Mortal Kombat 1 and 2 were good fun (particularly when you could master the fatalities) but just wasn't as good as SF.
Stunt Race FX, similar to Uniracer/Rally I found to be a fun little game to play. I actually was bought both of them for birthdays/xmas by my parents so maybe they are to blame a bit
From a nostalgia perspective, Earthworm Jim is a Genesis series from me.
From a snarky perspective, the Genesis versions play better and have a better soundtrack.
Otherwise it's very deserving.
I'm actually pretty shocked Contra III didn't rank higher. But it's one I didn't play as a kid, so I don't have as much of a connection with it.
I can accept that the Genesis versions were better. But those games were every bit as available on the SNES and they forking ruled.
I played the first Earthworm Jim quite a bit. I didn't play the sequel until way later in life. Same with Contra III.
There was a Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe game a while back. Never played it, but I assume it didn’t have the traditional MK fatalities.
Never played Mario Paint, which 4 people had on their list, or the Earthworm Jim games. I’ve played most of the Mega Man games in recent years via the legacy collections. I think I put the original MMX on my list, but I could be wrong about that.
Yeah, it didn't. Not sure how DC fans would react to seeing their beloved superheroes getting decapitated, haha. It was a decent game. Marvel vs Capcom is still the best crossover fighting game in my opinion.
MK and Netherrealm in general has done bloodless carnage before - and outside the fatalities themselves, many of the things they do nowadays aren't difficult to adapt to appearances without viscera. A crossover is a lot more likely now than it was in the past: people get crushed, shot, all sorts of things in Street Fighter.

Agree about the gameplay. The SF special moves were easier to remember for me. Could never do Zangief’s spinning piledriver properly though. It’s round the D-Pad 3/4s or all the way round or something like that followed by one of the buttons or something like that I think without looking it up but could never pull it off.
I could never do Kano's fatality in MK, though from memory it was similar movement to the Hadoken. Unfortunately the SNES version was censored, apart from Scorpion and Sonya's fatalities. Having a separate block button bothered me as well.
Remember playing Jurassic Park, not a great game IMO, but very atmospheric first-person sections, pushing mode 7 to the limit.

JP was awesome. It just needed a save feature. I love just getting plopped down in the Park and being able to go anywhere pretty much. Frustrating but fun.

I used to make so many songs on this bitch. I would take the sheet music for songs and put it in the MP or I'd try to replicate rap beats as best as I could lol.
The original MK was decent at best. MK II i felt was a better and more polished game. It's definitely my favorite entry in the series of all time. But like the majority of people here have said, Street Fighter is and forever will be the undisputed king of fighters. I'd have Tekken 3 close in there but SF #1
