People will still care even though it will make the show less meme-able. And when Grogu returns, it could be a huge break-the-internet type moment. Plot-wise, I'm not sure how he will re-enter the fold since he's a toddler who can't travel on his own, and theoretically he should now be in training for many years, but I'm sure they'll come up with something.

I don't know what time frame we have for spoilers and since this was pretty monumental I'll put my shit in spoilers until I see others openly discussing.

I almost feel they may age grogu a bit or perhaps even jump some time. one would almost think he has to come in for a save at some point.

I don't think they have the balls to have Ben kill him. So they will have to figure out some way to fix that.

True. It is 20 years into the future but Grogu is on his way to 800+ so unless they give a reason, he would be there.

I'm curious what direction they will go here because the mythology is all over the place these days. I remember once upon a time there was no Ben Solo, it was Ben Skywalker, son of Luke. I don't know if that's a movie thing or a book thing where they twisted up some of those stories and changed names.

I think that was the post movie books and Disney announced none of that is canon. I never read any but I remember reading a wiki entry about them. Han and Leia had twins I think.

Ok I wasn't sure because they are taking elements and certain relationships from those books and putting them on the big screen.

They seem to be cherry-picking the good stuff and ignoring the rest.

Most of the Ben Solo stuff was a repurposing of Jacen Solo's story (Luke's pupil turns to the Dark Side to restore Balance thinking they could "use" the Sith rather than succumbing to it)

The twins were Jacen and Jaina. Jacen eventually went full blown Sith and Jaina had to kill him.

There’s also a younger kid named Anakin. Also dies, but unrelated to the twins going at each other. I can’t remember his storyline death.

I never really cared much for their stories so part of me is glad it's not canon. It would have been way more creative if one of the skywalker bloodline (say one of the twins) didnt have the force, grew resentment towards the other(s) and cousin and became some sort of evil bastard with a redemption at the end.

Crazy. I read a few books but had no idea Jaina killed Jacen and Anakin also dies.

Finished season 2 last night, exceptional shit.

I do wish we’d seen more of ahsoka, but I think she’s getting her own show or something. Curious about book of Boba Fett too, should be awesome.

They didn't really explain where he went. I'm sure he'll show up at some point in Season 3. It could be because they did not want the final scene to have too many people in it.

or could be disney is directing female power (rawr) which they have done with both marvel and star wars and thier projects moving forward. To thier credit the mandalorian seamlessly weaved those 4 ladies in very smoothly and had them kick ass without any of it feeling forced.

Supposedly, Filoni saw she was becoming an annoyance and overhauled her.... I should really start watching all that shit too. Has good reviews.

I watched all of season 2 today. It was dreadful.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. I thought it delivered and really opened things up, coming off the first season.

That's really kind of you to say. I'm not sure I'd have a lot to provide other than literal observations. Though I enjoy it, I'm not a hardcore Star Wars fan. I just stumbled along, thought it was good and kept watching lol. I won't go full on with a breakdown, but these were thoughts I had.

I was curious to see if they'd break away from the mission of the week trope but it really didn't become tired to me as they kept expanding the world and added different characters. I can only imagine the mark out moments for classic cameos returning or emerging for the first time.

I thought The Jedi and The Rescue were easily the standout episodes for the season. Felt like the season really got in gear during The Heiress episode. The Tragedy was definitely an emotional roller coaster and was quite enjoyable. If there was an episode I wasn't that enthralled with, it was The Passenger. It was hard to get a full emotional connection to the Frog Lady, which felt fairly important to creating motivation within the episode.

Obviously heard about the big reveal in the last episode and I thought the presentation of that was very well done. The Dark Troopers looked cool as hell and thought the story of how to cancel them out and how that was unavoidable in regards to the original planning was fun to see play out.

I can see how there's questions how this show will keep its overall momentum with the bond between Grogu and Mando not present. If anything, I think we saw an example of how that can work out in the very next episode after Grogu was taken. Bill Burr was pretty solid in his return appearance and that was an episode that didn't have Grogu involved and it was at worst an on-par episode. With more weapons in the chamber and returns, I have very little doubt that the show will lose steam.

Absolutely massive potential with the spinoffs they've said are on the horizon and what could still come of it. There's a fairly simple MCU blueprint to follow and manipulate in this world, which can really create epic moments down the road. Even not as a full-blown Star Wars fan, I'm looking forward to seeing what they cook up.
