that game event with the mikey lynch happening while i was sleeping was not ideal. catching up on the thread after waking up, i did want to float the possibility of mcnulty being an insane/paranoid cop, cause now it will look like me trying to cover my bases. i backed bert based off info i got and it worked out. i put the same trust in mcnulty. going off his info, lynching mikey was either going to show red, show a hostile to town omar(i was assuming this was the case) or reveal mcnulty as potentially unreliable, but wasnt able to convey that in time before the night phase.Originally Posted by JP

Seems like a really odd coincidence that mafia called a hit on rip. The same night he was blocked by herc and carver.
I say this because I assumed they went after bubbles (rip) another night because they couldn't find their target. Why take another swing like that?

I'm not sure exactly what rips role entailed. By saying hes a hider/reporter it leaves a few options. Could be hider one night reporter the next. Or when he hides behind someone who is active they "aren't home". That does fit the flavor since bubbles is watching people from a distance a few nights. I'd guess he hides some nights reports others.

Psycho also probably knew he was done for during all his talk about mikey. That entire day I think mafia was making moves. He had been watched by sydnor so he had to at least assume the clock was ticking. Because sydnor saw him kill that night
It's still odd to me that mazer said I was being aggressive about mikey when I never even placed a vote. That was also on the day psycho assumed he was dead soon and was trying to convince us not to lynch mikey.

The flavor doesn't fit for me though. RIP may of just used the not home flavor because he had mafiapedia'd the reporter role like I did and its mentioned there.

Sorry I talked myself out of it. The only active scum role that night was weebay and knowing who he is now I do believe mazer could be cleared. RIP was probably cautious because at that point we didnt know who weebay was.

what makes you think sydnor is seeing the actions of who he targets? if sydnor saw psycho attempt to kill mikey, then they sat on that info and we had to wait for bert before taking action.
If Sydnor saw Psycho try to kill Mikey I'm sure they'd have spoke up. It has to be something else. Instead of seeing actions there has to be some special modification Grim has made for these characters to use Wire taps. What that is I'm still not sure.
I'm still interested in Caito though.

I'm not sure on snyder because it's just flavor that makes me wonder. Talks about him having glazed eyes and a slow gait...but hes undercover. I seem to remember him being taught to look like a junkie in the show.

It said Freamon in that write-up got a hot tip from a CI, probably mediated through Grim (eg CWE contacts Grim who passed it onto Freamon). I’m wondering if the “who gave the tip was actually CWE/Wallace which may make sense in the show as to why he died. Wallace died in the show because they were afraid he would grass on them killing Brandon. He may have possibly died automatically taking the “vial” (ie tipping off Freamon).
It could be info from Sydnor but he wasn’t an informant in the show CWE/Wallace being the informant makes more sense flavour-wise.
As for the other people that have had these vials, possibly hidden effects that they’re not informed about and may not trigger until later.

I was less than impressed with Caito's "Nah" from earlier. He said he was busy and would be around more yesterday. You'd think someone who was town would have more to say than nah about how the game has unfolded so far.
Also could’ve been transferred through the wire tap the night before if not necessarily through Grim then the results come to Moreland the next night given there’s result delays in this game. Either way I think there was a link between CWE’s death and the Psycho deez.

the discrepancy with my info about mcnulty has me less comfortable than i was, since there is no indication he was compromised or that it's built into the role itself, but i'd say im still pretty confident in what i receive.
mikey getting clapped by greggs before mcnulty interviewed him has me wondering if that flow in the timeline/chain of custody somehow had an effect on the info mcnulty ended up with.
