Was hoping to pick up Cosgrove on Tuesday. 1-0 to Alex in the psychological war.

I think with 5 minutes difference TBM have you a heads up and you had your Aubameyang transfer typed up before he transfered him out.

    Rosk’s Rambling Roundup – Week 8

The lowest average scoring rate per team for 6 weeks (1.58) led to a record low viewership on RMOTD this week. A third of the league scoring zero goals led to an outcry on the Rajah Fans Forum demanding more investment from all boards into players that can actually put the ball in the net.

@Mikey_Jones a good example – whilst this weekend he was able to putt the ball directly through the windmill, over the double hill, round the fake lake and into the elephant’s trunk to get a hole-in-one at Bob’s Crazy Golf just off the motorway, he was unable to offer anything against Adam Armstrong FC, with @Ringo scraping another victory on his limping assault towards an unexpected title.

@Gary J was no better, failing in every sense of the word yet again with not even a sniff of goal. His fans starting to retweet his endless not-so-vaguely flirtatious messages towards aging UK-based porn stars like Linsey Dawn McKenzie and Charmaine Sinclair is seemingly more of a concern for Gary than his goal output currently. @Chris Scott was happy to win with his two goals through recent recruit Joe Garner and his beloved Patrick “I am a prick” Bamford.

@The Beer Monster is currently in a straitjacket after going insane this week and almost causing the entire league to break down. His public dressing-room firing of Tier A talent was kindly revoked by the RFF League Director and he is now on an official warning – as are his entire squad after failing to score against a resurgent @Andy who somehow scored four Scottish goals this week, and then spent the rest of the weekend in his slippers smoking a jointly branded Rangers and Arsenal pipe, regaling to anyone that would listen about fake trophies that he’d won in the past.

@Simon picked up yet another impressive victory this week, with unrated midfield player Bruno Fernandes and the obligatory Jamie Vardy (pen) seeing off the efforts of @son_of_foley who continues to flatter to deceive. Sitting on top of the leaderboard this week, he has now moved clear of @BBF whose recent form hit a brick wall in the face of @Peter Griffin’s W Club scoring a well-taken 3 goals, bringing him closer to the middle of the pack.

For many however the shock loss of the weekend was @Alex, who after scoring 11 in two weeks, failed to net against longstanding RFF also-ran @Beefy, whose inspired last-minute pickup of evergreen Rory McAllister put a cherry on the icing on the cake of a 3-0 win.

And it’s to that man we can now go to with our weekly interview:

    Interview with Beefy

Interviewer: Hello Beefy. A solid win this week thanks in no small part to the Cove pair of Meggs and Rory. How are you feeling right now going into the International break?

Beefy: It was nice to get the win after a shocker against Peter Griffin the week before but in truth the beak has come at a good time. Between injuries and Covid I've had a few players unavailable and this will hopefully give us a chance to get them back and then kick on from here.

Interviewer: Why do you think you haven't won any major trophies of note in your 15 years of playing RFF?

Beefy: I see what you've done here. I won every RPL Trophy ever contested. I also have an RFA Cup so your question is a little unfair but I'll go with it. I've played this game for a long time and, at times, have been quite good at it so it is disappointing that we've not been able to bring home more silverware but it isn't something I let get to me.

You know, does it still piss me off that in January 2011 Torn gets a 97th minute goal to stop me from winning the first ever MMH Cup which he then ends up winning two weeks later which he cashes in for second Euro player who ultimately gets him over the line? I'd not even thought about that in ages until you just brought it up.

Do I occasionally think late at night of the signing that I had typed out on the last day of that same season but didn't pull the trigger on, who ended up scoring two goals - the absense of which knocked me down from 1st at 3pm to 3rd at 5pm? Not really.

Does Steven Fletcher's late Sunday evening hattrick in March 2015 against Gibraltar which made me lose 3-2 and sparked a calamitous late season slump from being 12 points clear cause me grievances still all these years later? It's a minor irritation at best.

Do I refuse to watch top flight football these last five years because I went to White Hart Lane for the last Sunday of that season knowing that I would be watching my two star players - Kane & Aguero - play in front of me needing two goals to finally win me my first League title only for them to only manage to score one? Who is to say. Do I think about having to get off of the train on the way up to London that day so I could properly hear on the radio Darren Bent missing a penalty which ultimately would have won me the title every time I blink my FUCKING eyes?

    Sorry, what was the question?

Interviewer: With you being only 6 points off the top, could this be the year that AFC Beefy wins the big one? What did you need to do to get there? Why did you infract me?

Beefy: I was power-hungry. I just got off on clicking that infraction button.

As for the title, I need a few things to go my way over the rest of the season- starting with Aguero getting fit - but I'm really pleased with my squad and my scouting and think I have a chance.

Interviewer: Who would you like to finish top and bottom respectively this season?

Beefy: Simon is top right now but I don't want that to be how it finishes. Someone told me the other day that he won POTTY which blew my mind. Standards must have slipped since I won it. I'd like Chris Scott to win it. I like Chris, he's great value and seems to operate on another level when it comes to trades. I've spent a decade thinking he's getting screwed over time and time again which I now realise was because I wasn't able to comprehend his genius. For example I thought I was chasing him for three weeks to get DCL and it was only after the deal was done that I realised he'd played me for two of my star players. I respect that and want him to succeed.

I'll say Andy for bottom. No one likes a Rangers fan.

Interviewer: Is there any particular reason you have not signed The Spaceman Brandon Goodship this year?

Beefy: I picked up Charlie Kelman in the late rounds of the draft but that will be my only Southend United involvement this season. Goodship? FlippinUselessship I call him.

That was the one. 5 Live cut to it being awarded just before the doors closed at Shenfield but the signal. Was crap on the train so I got out to listen. Was absolutely livid.

I’m gonna stick up for myself here a bit. It really wouldn’t have been that big of a deal to get rid of a player who hasn’t scored in open play since the first day of the season and is in awful form. I would of offered him up for trade but I didn’t think anyone would offer me anything half decent as a trade. It was a perfectly legal transfer.
So stick your warning up your bum.
I have since had 1 offer for him that I am considering, if anyone else would like to offer a trade I am open to that.

I'll give you Declan McManus (2 in 4), Kane Hester (4 in 5) or Rory McAllister (1 in 1)

Shove your shove up your arse you ungrateful bastard. Because of my decision you now will have a great player for free.

If Salah, Kane, Vardy, Mane etc hadn’t scored for a few games nobody would have dropped them for nothing. There was nothing illegal about your transfer of course, but it went against all reason and I felt like you needed a shoulder to cry on in the aftermath of a fucking punishment dealt to you by the mighty Villa boys.

Hang on a minute, let’s not having a falling out. I was clearly being only semi serious when I said about sticking your warning up your bum (not arse, tonally very different). I’m fully thankful you chose to step in to make a ruling, but at the same time, I’d made a decision (stupid or not, only time will tell).
I’ll always play with my gut over my brain, that’s how I enjoy playing the game. The sudden availability of a “top tier” talent once in a blue moon surely just adds an unexpected twist to the game.
    Kisses?

    Rosk’s Rambling Roundup – Week 9

“Twas Gameweek 8, and the slimy toads
Did whinge and wimble 'bout the rules:
    All whingy were the managers,
    And soon the warnings came:

Beware the bloody Rosk, my son!
The jaws that bite, the laws that catch!
Beware the "1 week rule", and shun
Any idea of transferring out Jevani Brown (Colchester United) or Bobby Bindley (Alloa) before you are allowed to just so you can get a good player in because your team looks to be a bit weak you cheeky bastards.”

It was indeed a week where multiple rules were brought into question, and never-cheaters tried to prosper, much to the chagrin of the powers that be. An extra week’s rest seemed to do fuck all for the teams this week as the League matched last week’s joint low scoring rate of 1.58.

The nadir of this run was evidently the game between @Peter Griffin and @The Beer Monster, a ghastly 0-0 that neither team truly deserved to get a point from. Both manager are being tested on the Wellness Policy as we speak, for completely the opposite reasoning as usual. Things can only get better for TBM.

The Levski SOFia board are now asking serious questions of @son_of_foley after splashing out big bucks on Harry Kane, only to see their side sink further to the bottom this week after being humped by @Gary J – of all people. Forgotten man Solanke even scored ffs, alongside the regular Nisbet goal. SOF had no comment for the media post-match, whereas Gary announced his intent to buy the triple pack of garlic bread to go with his celebratory spaghetti this week.

@BBF pre-announced a major injury crisis this week with a couple of players having the sniffles. His decision to leave a convicted rapist on the bench was a good one for the PR of eBBFleet, but a bad one for the scoreline as @Alex beat him 3-1 thanks to a hat trick from The Stuffed Crust. Both players well in line for a title shot – could this result prove the difference at the end of the season?

@Mikey_Jones is being called out by his fanbase for having no Plan B, and fielding a team each week that are clearly carrying injuries (read: not playing) and it frankly isn’t helping his cause. Leaving goals on the bench against a mercurial @Simon is never a good idea, particularly when the new face that is running the place gets the biggest score of the week (F-O-U-R) thanks to a brace from Just James Vaughan, his beloved Son and overlooked penalty taker Bruno Fernandes.

The match of the weekend was clear: @Ringo beating @Beefy 3-2 thanks to a last minute winner from Kyle “Ric Flair” Wootton was one for the ages, and despite Beefy’s fury at himself for fielding a weak team, he should be proud at the progress he has made in recent week. Ringo now somehow sits second despite scoring 14 goals across 9 games. Rumours that he spent more than Man City on his defence remain unclear.

And finally, a boring 1-1 draw between @Andy and @Chris Scott took place with nobody really giving a shit. What a load of toss.

And it’s with that that we can now go to an interview with serial RFF trader @Chris Scott:

    Interview with Chris Scott:

Interviewer: Hi Chris. I miss you every day. Without our trading discussions, I don’t know how to fill my time. How have you coped this year without your partner in <EDIT> RFF trading?

Chris Scott: It’s been tough without my partner, I’ll be honest. Tough indeed. I’ve only made one trade this year which is very unlike me. I’m usually trading Mario for Sergio by now.

Interviewer: You currently sit comfortably in midtable, sharing a seat with Beefy (like he did with Version 6 when the POTTY was replayed that one time). Are you pleased with your team’s progress this season? 20 goals is not to be sniffed at..

Chris Scott: I’m very pleased, I’m usually fighting relegation or finishing in the bottom...wait isn’t it a coincidence my partner left me and I’m comfortably mid table?

Interviewer: Who do you want to win this season? And who do you want to finish bottom?

Chris Scott: They’re all tits but I wouldn’t mind my old rival Gary J winning it, or Alex he’s a sound tit or my other relegation rival Beefy too actually. Beefy you owe £40 soon

Interviewer: Do you have any advice to those who aren’t as good at trading as you are?

Chris Scott: See the trick to trading is don’t trade with scousers. That’s why I’m so good at it. Did you ever see a trade between me and MMH?

Interviewer: The rest of the League have voiced their concern that you only have 2 Liverpool players in your squad. Is everything OK?

Chris Scott: I still can’t believe I had a dirty bluenose in my team. Yuck I need a shower again. Bobby’s scoring again I’ll probably pick him up. In fact I’m going to do that now.

    Interviewer: Sigh. Good luck Chris.
