    Rosk’s Rambling Roundup (Week Six)

BREAKING NEWS: The Government have released new advice on the visible symptoms of COVID-19 - they are now as follows:

    i) Persistent coughing
ii) Change in sense of taste or smell
    iii) Being shit at RFF

It’s been a tough week again for @Andy as he leaves a hat trick on the bench against @Beefy, allowing the veteran an easy three points thanks to another Meggs goal. He was odds on to win as his players were sat on the bench, but somehow they managed to not score from the bench, and therefore the rank outsider Beefy managed the win (at rank outsider odds, the opposite of odds on).

@Gary J pulled off another of his trademark 1-0 victories, secured by the 5th (F-I-F-T-H) goal of the season and that man Nisbet striking again. @The Beer Monster has voiced his concerns in the dressing room, and in public… Shanks and Auba need to step up.

@Mikey Jones made it 3 from 3 with a close, hard-fought victory over @Peter Griffin. Whilst The Tiger failed to net, his National League FA Cup purchases did the trick – clever thinking by the man with a title now firmly in his mind. Wilson scoring for Peter Griffin does give him promise – a squad is certainly looking better now, and he just needs consistency.

@BBF was thoroughly embarrassed by @Chris Scott this week, with Patrick Bamford of all people scoring a hat-trick to end the tie before the Barnet man had even woken up. Chris has now scored the third most goals of any team in the League. Do not sleep on this man, but do question where he is getting his team ideas from - he’s a sneaky one. Onto the next one for BBF who won’t face shoeings like this every week, and remains favourite for the league at 3/1.

Adam Armstrong remains the only man in @Ringo’s good books, scoring a brace to claim a draw against league leaders @Simon. Another bench goal for Simon too, leaving us all to question exactly how he is managing to do this.

The performance of Gameweek 6 undoubtedly goes to previous champion, part of the first ever co-managed to win the league, the Newcastle/Fulham/Birmingham/Roy Hodgson fan @Alex, who windmilled his way to a 5-0 victory over @son_of_foley and now sits just three points away from the summit after a mediocre start to the season. And we’re fortunate to be able to speak with Alex right now to get his thoughts:

    Interview with Alex:

Interviewer: Hello, old friend. A resounding 5-0 victory this weekend against SOF couldn’t have come sooner. Walk us through your feelings after such a heroic victory.

Alex: 10 days ago son_of_foley said I didn't have any good players to trade and this weekend I put five past him. He is a specialist in failure.

Interviewer: After winning the title in the last two leagues as part of Rolex, is it fair to say you’ve been feeling the pressure to make it a hat trick?

Alex: I have won 17% of RFF trophies ever contested. I have a nose for goalscorers. Andy lost his sense of smell for bacon but coronavirus could not take his nose for goalscorers because he never had it to lose. He exploits a niche in the market and won one title. He won the big one and deserves the respect that gains but he cannot repeat it. I want to talk about facts.

Interviewer: Who would you like to finish top (if not you) and bottom respectively?

Alex: It doesn't matter who I would like to finish bottom because I can say categorically that Ringo will finish bottom.

The Beer Monster is a nice man and he has Aubameyang which keeps him happy. It is the equivalent to the satisfaction of having 4 cans of Carling on a Friday night. I would be happy with that but I am the only player to ever win the treble. In this analogy I must aspire to the full Brewdog catalogue on a Friday night. I wish Beer Monster the very best.

My media relations team advised me not to comment on an ongoing investigation. What I will say is that BBF has been a tremendous RFF player and that he has never won a trophy is a real surprise to me. His personal contribution to the game has been significant. When you consider some of the frauds, and I won't name names, that have won the title over the years then it's a shame that BBF has become known as the Lee Westwood of RFF. I am a competitive man but I will shake the hand of my competitors before and after. If BBF won the title I would raise a glass to his achievements.

    Interviewer: …

Alex: Listen, I didn't want to name names and I don't appreciate you pressing me. I think it's well known I was referring to UK Blue who won the title with just 42 points. I've heard he started an RFF consultancy when he left but hasn't had any clients and is now leaving posters on car windscreens to advertise. I was told that the picture on the poster is of Andy Mangan.

Interviewer: You face long time friend/FIFA teammate/rival Mikey Jones next week. Do you have any words for him at this time?

Alex: Mikey won Leo Messi and then he won the league. He is a very shrewd strategist. This has shown in recent years when he's partnered with some of the smartest minds in football.

Beefy has been a highly respected player for many years and he will enter the RFF hall of fame. He is the Colin Montgomery of RFF. He was a big influence on the growth of the game, he has been a good player and he has won the RPL trophy. But Steven Fletcher scored a hattrick against Gibraltar and his mantelpiece holds nothing but dust. In this analogy he gets called whenever a broadcaster wants insight into a Ryder Cup win but he wears a blue jacket because he could not win a green one. Mikey looks very fetching in his green jacket and we'll share a curry after the game.

Interviewer: Of all your current squad, which player’s chant is your favourite?

Alex: That would have to be Rhys Murphy's song to Uncle Kracker's "Follow Me"

    “I'm singin'
    Rhys Murphy
    Everything is all right
I'll be the one to score your goals all night
And if you can believe I can guarantee
You will go and win your eighth trophy”

We sang it for Teemu Pukki after his goal Saturday but we're close to a deal where he leaves the club. If anyone reading this would like to submit a different offer then my inbox is open.

    Interviewer: Pukki? Really? Interesting.

I've only got seven players so had a spare place. I appreciate you don't have the fingers to count that high though because of how much your family love each other

    Rosk’s Rambling Roundup – Week 7

A barnstorming week with every single team scoring. Admittedly half of the league “did a Gary J” – no, not eating spaghetti from strange places – but scoring one – but still a sign of progress for the fans tuning in on PPV.

Talking of @Gary J, he thought his beloved Lewis-Potter had done enough to get yet another classic shithouse 1-0 victory until Just Jamie Vardy equalised for Simon with the last goal of the gameweek. Simon remains unbeaten this year and is posing a genuine threat for the title at this stage – his odds have yet again narrowed to 3/1 as a result.

@Beefy was struck down with the moving home bug and with his team lifting sofas up a winding staircase on Saturday morning, they clearly were too knackered to pose any form of defensive threat against a resurgent @Peter Griffin side, who claimed a big 3 points thanks to the Big 3 Ws – Werner, Watkins and Wilson. With Wilson now scoring in five home games in a row and Werner back to peak form, Peter can feel more confident in gaining some victories from here but has a monumental challenge next week in BBF.

@BBF beat a hapless @Andy without even trying this week. Andy’s big two in the SPL are just not performing and it remains to be seen how long he will persist with the players that nobody else deemed good enough to draft early. He will be boosted by Andy Ryan’s first goal, but not as boosted as BBF was after this result who now sits clear at the top of the table – the form of JCH in particular catching the eyes of many.

@The Beer Monster and @Chris Scott played out an exciting 2-2 draw – the overpaid PL superstars scoring for TBM, and Chris’s new recruits finishing clinically after he managed to screw over Beefy in a trade (I taught him well). Both are sitting comfortably in midtable but the questions remains if they can kick it on a notch over the coming weeks.

Nine goals were shared in the battle of the 2nd and 3rd best Pro Clubs players - @Mikey Jones can consider himself unlucky again for scoring the second most amount of goals of any club this week, with more goals from Oink Oink, Toney The Tiger and Tom Ashley Denton (31). He was still humbled by a dominant @Alex, who did one better than his 5 from last week and managed SIX goals through four players – an excellent signing in Big Bad Ben House and a return to form of the Pukki Monster have more than a few eyebrows raised as the serial champ is now within a win of the summit of the table.

@Ringo’s intent to score as few goals as possible this year whilst winning games took a hit this week after he closed out Saturday winning 1-0 through RFF Hall of Famer Paddy Madden, but @son_of_foley managed to sneak a draw through the No.1 draft pick Harry Kane. With only two wins on the board for SOF this season, the fans are getting a little restless, and we took him aside to ask him some questions..

    Interview with son_of _foley

Interviewer: Hello son_of_foley. A tough start for you this year. 19 goals conceded and third bottom in the league. Is it fair to say this isn’t what you expected after getting No.1 pick in the draft?

SOF: It's been tough. To get absolutely battered by Alex like that was a bit of a surprise. In a weird way I was happy for him it was nice for him to start to answer the critics a bit. I was never sure if they were calling him the Steve McClaren of RFF because of him being a successful assistant or the hairline but either way he's showing a few people

Interviewer: It’s been said that you’ve always been an exciting footballing team – “the Newcastle United of RFF”, as the Levski SOFia have been starved of silverware for a long time. Do you have any words of hope for the thousands of SOFia Lorens out there who are desperate for some sliver of glory?

SOF: I don't think they've ever had it so good. We continue to beat Andy every year and also we've the cheapest pies in the league. Success means different things to different people. We've also listened to the fans and have a lot less players who have been convicted of sexual assault this year. GROWTH.

Interviewer: Who would you like to finish bottom of the league? Three point deduction if you don’t answer.

SOF: Chris Scott. For years I picked players from the team I supported who had previously played for them and was shit. Bottom of the league every year then this prick comes along and not satisfied with Liverpool winning fucking everything uses the same formula TO ACTUALLY DO WELL. fuck that. I hope he gets relegated and I hope Sadio Mane fucks off to Real Madrid4) Are you happy with your squad right now?

Interviewer: Are you happy with your squad right now?

SOF: No. It's dogshit tbh. Too many punts that aren't coming off. Something needs to change. Ajeti could have been a master stroke but you can never quite legislate for how stupid Neil Lennon is.

Interviewer: Who is finishing higher in their respective leagues – Derby County of Levski SOFia?

SOF: The parallels are stunning. Both can't keep a clean sheet, both can't score enough goals and both have a manager who looks like absolute shit. I reckon Derby might shade it as I think Phillip Cocu actually has a pedigree of winning things through his life so I would give it to them.
