It’s between FF7 and FF6 for me. I want to save FF7 for another category though so I’ll go with 6.

I love this song. I put it on all the time to relax while painting. Super Mario 64 really is a beast for music.

Easy one for me to pick the game but not the song.
It's Persona 3, my favourite ever game in it's various guises.
All the overworld soundtrack is brilliant for example Changing Seasons with it's random French vocals.
Also a big fan of Time on Persona 3 Portable
But the best has to be the weirdly named (possibly badly translated) When The Moons Reaching Out Stars. The amount of playing I didn't do just so I could carry on listening to this on a loop for ages.
Aye this isn't overworld music. For Mario 64 it would be the music played in the castle, not inside one of the paintings.
Another Mario one for me. If there's a more pleasant piece of computer game background music than this I'm yet to hear it.

Really digging MMH's choice by the way. That whole Persona 3 soundtrack is wonderful. Also love Hero's repick. Wario Land is such an underrated game in general.
This is also one of my all time favorite themes. I learned how to play a rough version of it on piano when I was taking a class two years ago.
Gotta be Persona 2 Innocent Sin for me. Probably my favorite Persona game ever
I'd stay in the map just to listen to this tune for roughly 10 minutes before continuing lol

The instant I saw this day with the favorite hub music, I thought of this theme from Diddy Kong Racing so I love this based on its nostalgia. I love the areas in this game I'd spend a lot of time wandering around this hubworld on a plane, even today, as I like how interconnected the worlds feel and open the world is. And I love hearing all of the variants of the theme as you go in areas fully taking advantage of streams, so cool. Oh, and you hear Taj blissfully humming to this theme as you approach near him so that's nice and all.
I really wish there was a sequel to this game the world feels small by today's standards, and I'd love to see an expanded version of it which I think would be swell. Don't think CTR's hub world can compare to this one, it feels more corridors and restricted compared to DKR's.
