Not just a talented ring announcer but he had gold comedy skits as well. The feud with Harvey Whiopleman and also being Jericho's lackey pretending to be the Warrior.

Damn shame about Fink. Truly one of the greatest to ever grab an announcing microphone. It's a shame he didn't keep the gig longer, but I assume that was his decision as well.

Family can attend yes but many more friends and people who would want to attend cannot I believe.
I think when someone like this, essentially a bit-part player from your childhood, dies, you get a brief but not insignificant window into your own mortality.
My favourite Fink moment is when he returned to announce the Del Rio match, you'll no doubt find it on YouTube. The man is bowled over by the crowd reaction and has tears in his eyes, like a man only now realising how loved he was. What a great moment and a rare punctuation of pure humanity in this fucked up pastime we obsess over.
He seemed like a good lad, didn't he? Rest in peace Fink.

Aside from Michael Buffer I can't think of anyone more famous in that role than Howard Finkel.

I think it was Foley recently who said that Fink was so good he would make you think a low card replacement for a main event level guy at a house show would make you believe that low card guy was a great replacement lol.
