They had been warned. For years now, virologists the world over predicted an infection would sweep the planet, killing millions, changing our very way of life. Now, as borders closed and draconian measures were taken, that moment was upon us.
Hubris, Mistrust, Disbelief and Arrogance in our response were threatening to destroy any good work put in.
Countries the world over were attempting to work in union to prevent the spread. China and Italy were the hardest hit, but Germany, France, Great Britain and many more were pooling resources, talent and expertise to fight back against these threats.
Whether they succeed or not, Covid-19 continued on its path of destruction.
Character List
Only now, on the brink of collapse, did they realise how fragile their way of life was. A collective worldwide effort, like none ever seen before, would have to be undertook to save them all.
Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Russia, Spain, South Africa, South Korea and the United States of America, unprecedentedly working as one.
There were many obstacles they had to overcome. Humanity had many admirable traits, but in the face of this new threat, so many negative ones had appeared. Hubris, Arrogance, Mistrust and Disbelief spread amongst the world’s population, leaving their taint wherever they went. But above all, it was Selfishness which threatened it all.
None of this mattered to Covid-19. It had no sense of right or wrong, no sentience to guide its path. Each country it infected was simply a way of spreading its genetic material. But unless it was stopped, it would spread to all corners of the Earth and change the world as we know it.
Life, liberty, freedom, love. The world knew exactly what is was fighting for. But there was one thing, above all other things, that had suddenly become like gold dust, the hottest commodity on Earth. If you had Toilet Paper, you had it all.
Day One
Day One
The world had been sleeping at the wheel. The experts had pleaded for as long as they could for their leaders to listen, to prepare.
They had not.
As such, poor South Africa was in tatters. The townships were burning, the dead laying flat on the street. Rioting and looting long past the point of being stopped. The Government quickly dissolved, the fight no longer winnable.
A country that had inspired so many not that too far in the past, the birthplace of Madiba himself, South Africa, as we know it, was lost.
Covid-19 had infected its first nation.

The world had a natural order to it, and by God, did the United States of America know that it was on top.
If anybody was going to sort out this mess, to lead the planet, it was them.
It was with this in mind that the United States of America knew where it was going to strike first.
Lotjx didn't stand a chance. But the rest of the world wondered, was it actually the smartest of moves, or was gung ho Uncle Sam shooting blanks again?

The action taken by the United States of America had shook the entire world. What were the consequences? With the confusion surrounding the situation to battle Covid-19, there was no way of knowing until they had found a way to fight back and send the virus packing.
Concerned about what to do next, the world came together and started to plan.

Night One
Night One
South Africa infected, lotjx lost, all within the space of the first day. Having convened, the world set off to fight back against the impending threats they faced.

In the early days of the outbreak, China had enforced draconian measures, but they had halted the spread in its tracks. Taking the knowledge of what to do, stood shoulder to shoulder with Mazer.
The strongman of Europe had softened in recent year, opening its borders to refugees and becoming a symbol of hope, far removed from the days of conflict in Europe. Germany still knew some tricks however, and as such, kdestiny was not doing anything tonight.
Japan’s scientists were working non-stop to try and come up with an effective vaccine. They thought they might have it, and so passed it on to Psycho.
What was France meant to do? It was full of lovers, not fighters. They couldn’t do this alone, they needed cover, and so Knee provided their shade for the night.
Great Britain had a long and storied history with famous detectives, both fictional and real. Aiming its deduction towards CWE, the hunt for threats was on.

As the world turned, so did the means to its potential destruction.
Arrogance coursed through the world, looking for its master. It settled on Badger, but no luck was to be found, he was not their progenitor.
Hubris was stronger than ever, having led the world to the point of its collapse. Settling on Rip, it ensured whatever he had planned for tonight would not happen.
But Mistrust, that was the deadliest of them all, and Mazer was in its sights. Helpless it stood as Mistrust sewed it seeds. But little did it know, that China was on hand to prevent Mazer’s demise. It was early days, but the world had worked as one to push back the threat, at least temporarily.
The news, for the world would, only get better. Covid-19, it found, could not spread further tonight. Its target, impossible to infect.

The mystery of Toilet Paper continued to swirl. Why, what, how (much is left)? All we know, is that Toilet Paper decided that Rip was its target for tonight.

Frozen in place, like a rabbit in headlights, the world was doomed to fall if they did not get together and use their voice to guide the way.
As we slipped into another night, souls over the planet braced themselves, for pain was surely on the way.

Night Two
Night Two
The world had shuffled into a day of inaction, the heroics and luck of the previous night having seemingly stunned them rather than inspired. Would that come back to bite them tonight?

For reasons he didn’t quite understand, Great Britain had a spring in his step tonight. After investigating Knee, he also had time to pick apart the intentions of Fro.
Germany was also interested in Fro, this time preventing him from taking any action.
Those of us who are strongest, know our weaknesses. Strength, not his game. So France, once again, looked for protection, sheltering behind another. Tonight, that would be Rip.
Japan still did not know if his vaccine worked. In the hope of finding out, he gave tonight’s sample to Knee.
From pariah to king, China had proven its worth to the world on the first night. Hoping to show what they can do once again, they chose to impart their wisdom to Pablo

It was time once more to increase the spread, and the next target in line for Covid-19 was Jordo. The fevers spread, the coughing intensified, but not where they had meant it to go. Italy stood no chance, and Italy soon become saturated with the disease. But why had their intended target, Jordo, been missed?

A terrible opening night for the negativity through the world did not initially improve. Arrogance’s second search was just as empty as the first. Caito was not their creator.
But Mistrust, having failed on night one, was not going to fail two night in a row. It had hit too hard, too quickly. Chaos descened, and Grim was lost to the world.

The world did not know what was going on, if these targets were the right ones, even who was left to fight. The confusion that Covid-19 had spread around the globe made them blind to the past. While it survived, they would remain lost.
So, again, they had no way of knowing if this was sensible or suicidal.
If this was a computer game, it’d be screaming “Rampage!” or “Kill Streak!” every time the United States of America made a move. This time, it was Caito’s turn to feel his wrath.

After the previous day of inaction, the world had decided attack was the better form of defence. Tonight, would that prove smart?

Psycho, was attracting almost all of the world’s attention tonight. Japan had decided to give him another vaccine, Germany stood in his way and France cowered under him.
The only nation to look elsewhere was China, who had decided that CWE was worth protecting.

Covid-19 had been on a rampage and it wasn’t going to stop until the world stopped it themselves. South Korea had been so close to the initial outbreak, yet had seemed to hold back the tide. No more, and South Korea was now plagued.

Finally, Selfishness had reared its head, continuing the search for the one who started it all. Kdestiny, was not it.
