Wonder if plans changed with all the weirdness in the tourney. Sometimes shit happens, and you pivot. They might be an ok transitional team. Let Raquel get some good work, have them drop the belts, and transition Raquel to the next thing. Meantime, Kai and Sky can have their moment with the Bianca group, eventually take the titles from someone, and potentially walk into a ready-made feud with Naomi and Sasha.

This Dominik/Rhea storyline is basically going to be a remake of Miss Kitty leaving Jeff Jarrett for Chyna

I see godriguez and aliyah dropping the titles to Naomi and sasha, with aliyah taking the pin and gonziguez blaming her and starting a heel turn.

I read that the illegal member of IYO/Dakota was pinned so maybe that's going to set up a rematch and the heels will take the titles off them pretty quick?

I thought the most interesting thing about Edge confronting Judgment Day was Rhea and Dom, as it feels like they are building a good story but I don't have any idea where they are taking us.

I liked Angle's return for the nostalgia pop but he has taken too many head shots and seems lost, then seems relieved when he remembered his catch phrase. It's true. It's Damn true.
I noticed Priest being sloppy too, like maybe he was having a rough night? I dunno. He was ploddingly slow and couldn't get centered at all. Hopefully it was just an off night.

I’d like to see Raquel eventually become the enforcer of Bayley’s group with a slow build to Raquel vs Bayley like Batista vs HHH. They also need to work on Raquels presentation, its very generic babyface.

I want to give Priest the benefit of the doubt based on his recent top level matches with Edge. And I could understand if he didn't look sharp against Dolph - who is among the best on the roster at selling, but his offense has never been that much to cheer about. But I can't think of anyone who AJ Styles can't pull the best out of.

Putting the women's tag titles on Raquel and Alyiah is smart. They needed it more than the others, and Raquel needs to be kept away from the women's title scene so she can build her character to something more than power and hot tag. They can lose it right away to cheap heel tactics, and then chase getting the titles back for a while.

Just to be overly critical: Omos would be one. I’d say other guys have had better matches with him.

That wouldn't shock me at all considering Triple H books the women's tag titles like it's the 24/7 championship. The first ever NXT women's tag champs lost the belts the same day they won them.....why? Lol.

Catching up on Raw. Angle/Alpha Academy segment was awesome.

    Wayne’s World reference and shoosfest!

When Rhea was staring down Dom daring him to hit her, thought Beth was gonna run in but ah well! That fight will be on in time lol.

Don't think it was a Wayne's World reference. I think it was referencing their skits from the early 2000s, which in turn was a reference to Wayne's World.

So in a roundabout way it’s still Wayne’s World.

@Dave Wyndorf Also was originally referencing the “Exsqueeze me baking powder?” line not the Edge/Angle segment with the cards backstage. Sphincter boy!

I still can't see why they booked Dom to give the kendo stick to Rhea. There's no way he doesn't look like an idiot there. I get they are trying to portray him as following the rules and not wanting to hit a woman. And I get Rhea talking him into not hitting her. But he could/should have backed off - still holding the stick himself, or allowed her to back off herself. He did not have to give the stick to her.

Being patient myself with this storyline. Rhea will get her comeuppance but her Dominating him every week is still funny.

But yeah that segment maybe was a bit confusing tbf.

Trying to word this without sounding like a dick but if you've been following this storyline at all you wouldn't be confused.

Kinda hoping Beth puts over Rhea in their no doubt eventual match which I’d love but likely Beth will go over which not complaining harshly about either lol.

I have been following. I get that she has been beating Dom up regularly. If you're suggesting that there's more to this, that she's become Dominik's Dominatrix, I suppose that's possible, but that's not a world I am at all familiar with.

I'll be happy if Beth puts Rhea over, because Rhea shouldn't be losing to someone who's been retired for years (her mixed match with her husband against Miz/Maryse shouldn't count).

Why wouldn’t Beth out over Rhea? She put over Kelly Kelly and Candice Michelle, Beth knows what’s best for business.

You're familiar with it enough to understand the gist of a dominatrix lol. She's Poison Ivy.

Ok man for fuck's sake. Do you know anything other than coupon books and donating the goods?????????????????????

Poison Ivy from Batman. She blows the mist and suddenly you're her slave. I mean you used the dominatrix term properly as well but it's more about working the young man's easily manipulated mind. He gave her the stick because he's whipped, not literally like the way Jesus took it, he's smitten, he has a crush on this alpha female who is showing him attention regardless of the circumstances.

I'm not sure how it was at the expense of the tag division. And even if it was, he was already apart of the abomination that is him and that little kid winning the tag titles at Mania. If that didn't kill the tag division idk what to say lol.

    Strowman looks incredible.

Why is Austin theory saying his jaw hurts when Tyson fury clobbered him in the back of the head?

Thought brauns return was particularly underwhelming. Made zero sense for him to come down during the tag match.

Would have preferred to see him come out during ko and theory. Really dig into KO's prize fighter gimmick. Braun wants ko to put his money where his mouth is.

I dug it. They wanted to re-establish Braun as the mega monster and it worked a lot better than coming down to challenge Kevin Owens. Their feud sucked.

I will say this...On one hand I can see the argument about him destroying those 4 teams but then I realized he didn't even fuck up New Day and the only babyface he took out was Angelo with the powerslam.

I can see that point as well. Braun better be thanking gable though for helping save that botch a little. I do think Braun looks in great shape. He's trimmed down and added more definition. Hopefully they got something better for him planned on Friday.

I'm cool with Braun's return. I like(d?) him and am willing to see how he's handled and performs, etc.. I can see why beating up the tag teams could be a negative but he needed bodies to chuck around and there were ample in supply there, so I figure that's all there was to it.

Main event stuff with Miz/Dexter was a delight.

Sensible logic: After smashing Bobby’s face in with the door GO OUT THE DOOR MIZ AND RUN!

WWE logic: Miz thinks nah I’ll climb the cage!

My kids loved the dexter spot. Highlight of the show for them.

I did show them that you could see a monitor under the ring when they were setting up for the cage. Told them that someone would come from under the mat. So they were excited to watch, and then the Lumis face made them laugh.

    Loved KO/Theory.

nah, they liked that cause it made them feel "inside"

And I absolutely did not spoil that. I took pains to make sure they watched in release order, no spoilers, etc to capture that moment.

I appreciate that they're trying something with Dom.

I just think, in every iteration, that he may be the least intimidating person that has ever been on a WWE roster.

Edge calling out Dom, to say he's gonna kick his ass, predictably brought Rey out. Both Edge and Rey did great on the mic. Edge is always terrific, but sometimes Rey isn't as comfortable on the mic. Dom not saying a word, letting Rhea do the talking for him. Dom's facial expression seemed stuck on the heel acting class where they have to pretend everyone in class is not wearing deodorant. The same class that Otis got straight A's in.

Tag division was finally recovering from Braun/Nicholas, even withstanding Randy's injury. Now they go and set it back a lot. How The Street Profits have fallen this far so fast surprises me. I didn't even mind them being used to help get Hit Row over, but this? And the Viking Raiders should have been in any contenders' match, certainly more than Los Lotharios, who are rarely on TV.

I love Braun, and I am glad he's back. I just think there are better ways to remind us of his dominance than destroying the tag scene.

Raquel Gonzalez has a bright future.

Everything about KO and Theory was terrific. When KO called Theory "Austin", and made a point that he could call him that again, it was a shoutout to the fans who read about the changes since HHH is in charge now. It made me wonder, how high a percentage of the audience does that include? Pretty high, I'd guess.

I enjoyed Rey vs. Priest, even though it was clear Priest was going to win. Announcing Edge vs. Dom next week probably means it won't happen (I guess they will say Edge is not medically cleared) and Dom wins via default.

Lashley vs Miz in the cage was better, and longer, than I expected. Smart booking to hurt Bobby's arm before the match, to make it a little more even. Great camera angle showing Dexter peeking out under the ring. This is a stupid angle, like many in his career, that Miz is getting over. Miz should be a face, but he remains a heel, and while Dexter hasn't said anything, he's acted like a heel but fans are eating this angle up.

Also, conversation threads like this, where I have to defend my stance about Dominic over people like Ellsworth and Cole.....are the type of things that show why I can never leave these forums.

Now, somebody come at me by citing Harvey Wimpleman as an in-ring competitor.

Who DOESN'T cry during Rocky training sequences...especially part 3?? That's the best one. Him and Apollo running on the beach. I'm crying right now thinking about Rock's transition from 1-3 lol. Who knew chasing chickens in the Philly hoods would lean you out and keep you shredded.

I'll tell you who never cried during that. Clubber Lang. Clubber didn't cry even after taking the loss, and for some reason never getting a rematch. He just continued training in boiler rooms.

On a side note, some times still when I'm on top of a hill, I may look at and yell "DRAGO!". Rocky 4 was the absolute apex of cinema for montages. You've got the opening montage with Drago. The driving after Apollo's death montage. Russia training montage 1. Russia training montage 2 (post Adrian arriving). Fight montage.

    That's like 5 montages in a 90 minute movie.

Can’t remember the last time I cried during a film. It has probably happened but memory escapes me.

Haven’t seen any of the Rocky films in donkeys but can’t remember crying at the montages. More like getting excited I think.

Fell asleep watching Family Guy reruns and missed the first hour of RAW.

Just tuned in and saw the majority of Johnny Gargano and Chad Gable. Good God damn, that was a solid midcard match. Johnny Gargano might have all the facial expressions of a store mannequin and Chad Gable might be being wasted in a bad comedy team, but those two dudes brought it tonight and for a few minutes on TV, none of that mattered.

    Damn excellent work.

    - GREAT KO promo. Theory held his own there too.
    - Never a bad idea to give Gargano/Gable 14ish minutes. Very good match.
    - Feels like Lashley/Rollins is a one-off, but that would be fun as a program.
    - Judgment Day seemed floundering early. Taken some time, but I think they're finding their groove now.

That KO promo was one of the best I’ve ever heard in recent years!

I want more from Gable and Gargano. I haven't enjoyed a couple of midcarders as much since Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy were mixing it up. Gable loses singles matches all the time, but he brings the best out when he's given more than 6 or 7 minutes. Thank Yew!

Rollins' promo about moving on to a title and saying he's done with Matt Riddle puts him over in a big way. I enjoyed Riddle's response to Judgment Day, and the match with Balor was fun, but we didn't expect a clean finish.

I am loving Rhea right now, as Dom's Papi. Dom handled his interview segment fine - he explained his motivation for turning on Edge and his father. I would have liked an explanation before now, but at least we finally got something. Then after Rey's apology to Dom, telling him he doesn't have to go through with his match against Edge, Rhea was great doing all the talking for Dom.

Congrats to Damage CTRL for winning the ladies' tag belts. I like them, but I wonder how long they will hold the titles. Over/under at 3 months maybe?

Theory attacking Gargano after his match was classic heel tactics and continues the build to what is shaping up to be a terrific match.

KO's promo was fire. I love when they give him time to just talk passionately. Theory again handled himself well - when Owens was talking, he seemed to be listening, but he went back to "You're never going to be like me Kevin!" Great stuff, looking forward to more from both of them.

Kind of a let down for the open challenge to Belair turning out to be Sonya. I like Deville, but she needs to have more, better matches before anyone will think she's a threat.

Did anyone anywhere miss Omos? Besides MVP?

Who else expects Lashley to keep his title next week? Riddle will probably interfere and attack Rollins, or he will at least cause a distraction.

Nice storyline building with Miz and Lumis. I always like to see Maryse.

Dom really does not belong in the main event, but the story is good, if not predictable this week. Edge got most of the offense, Dom did okay - shoutout to his nice counter of the spear attempt into a half-crab on Edge's knee. Since the storytelling was around Edge's knee after last week's attack, I thought this was good.

The heel turn is probably the best possible thing for Rhea's Sub, Dommed Mysterio in the ring. The dude isn't as elegant or athletic as his old man (who granted, is like 50+ but he's a genetic freak show who's had his knees reconstructed out of stem cells and protoplasm so many times he probably doesn't even have real bones anymore) so a switch to a more intentionally "boring", less flashy style where Dommed Mysterio doesn't try to emulate his dad's offense and wind up looking like a a fish air-drowning on a boat dock, can only be good. I'd go as far as to have someone get with Dom and really work up some submission-based offense. A lot of grapples and holds. A lot of cut offs and limb targeting attacks. Give him some kind of submission finish that nobody breaks out of. Don't try to make him a high-flyer because he's a Mysterio. Let him be his own thing. And because he's a heel, if its "boring" to the audience, its perfect. Because they'll boo him out of the building for it.

So, Ridge Holland and Bitch...err... Butch are on RAW?

Ridge Holland is so the kind of guy that Vince McMahon would have looked at and fell immediately in love with. Big dude, good body, okay-ish wrestler. When Vince was pushing lunkheads like Snitsky, John Heidenreich, and Mike Knoxx, Ridge would've been head-and-shoulders above that crew. Obviously now, he's just the asshole who crippled Big E. He'll get the D'Lo treatment until he washes out of the bottom of WWE. But its a shame, because there's a lot of potential there.

    Yup.

I kind of hope the Street Profits split amicably pretty soon, a la New Day. I could see both Dawkins and Ford being successful singles stars.

Maybe Xavier Woods can focus more on hosting over G4 (now that they've gutted half their roster of on-screen personalities) and they can put The Street Profits with Kofi. Just don't call it "New Day 2.0" and we're good.

The Judgement Day gets absolute crickets until Dom starts speaking and receives legit heel heat. If they book Dom to be the one that puts Rey on the shelf, that would be huge.

Hindsight being what it is, the group turned on Edge way too soon.

I know people used to jack off over The Bullet Club and Prince Devitt and all that shit from Japan land. But, Finn Balor in the WWE isn't that. The dude shouldn't be leading a major group. He was a great second in command behind a heel Edge with Damian Priest as the muscle. But as a leader, I'm not loving it.

Want a leader who's a heel? Want somebody who can talk? Who can work? Who used to be a cult leader? Seth Fucking Rollins is right there.

Rollins deposes Edge, takes over, keeps Priest, Rhea, and Balor and you'd have a main event group.

Where's Ciampa been? Seems like he's been missing or maybe I'm just not noticing him. If he's been off TV I hope they're separating him from Miz, and getting his first name back.

Seems like he’s been cast aside a bit for this Dexter Lumis stuff.

Wasn’t a huge fan of the Miz pairing anyway so hope he either strikes out on his own or occasionally has Gargano’s back.

Yeah, Miz the cowardly heel was just an awkward pairing for Ciampa to be his stooge. Miz by himself is making this Lumis stuff work where inserting Ciampa to take Lumis out (or look like an idiot in trying) just doesn't seem like his character.

Well we have to also keep in mind what we see someone portrayed as in NXT isn't what we're always going to see on the main roster. Which is weird with the television exposure you'd think they wouldn't want to confuse the audience if one day Ciampa as a badass main eventer and the next he's a hired gun for The Miz.

I like the pairing in that sense but it also feels like we never truly heard anything from Miz like "I'm paying Ciampa extra $$$ to be my muscle" Maybe we did. I watch Raw on Hulu so they cut out a ton of segments/matches.

Ciampa could possibly be injured. The poor guy is hurt all the time. Fingers crossed.

If this were a few years back, they'd inevitably run an angle where they explain Ciampa's absence. Fantasy booking time. It was a result of him staying back at the Manor MarMiz to keep an eye on things while Miz was on the road. He was there to protect Miz's family against another intruder.

But he admits he got romantically involved with one of Miz's family members. Miz accuses Maryse of cheating on him. She gets angry and locks him out. Makes Miz even more angry. Finally, Maryse relents and agrees to talk to Miz again. We ultimately learn she never cheated on him with Ciampa.

Turns out that Ciampa did not get romantically involved with Maryse. Miz investigates Ciampa getting involved with Miz's mom, or Marjo. But nope.
Ciampa had gotten romantically involved with ...

What happened to G-TV? (Behind the scenes yes smart fans know) but that angle dropped too quickly.

Plus Hercules deserved better than what he got! The Master before Chris Masters ripping him
    off!

Ciampa was just on RAW last week. He was only missing this week. Not really much of an absence.

Canadian customs has to be source-free because both Garganos made it through there without a peep of them being set to appear on the show. Kudos to them lol.
