For the love of everything holy, please no. Wasting one of the few remaining Edge at Mania matches on that storyline? Ugh.

I need Edge v Styles for 20+ minutes, they would tear the fucking house down.

I would also prefer that. Just giving thoughts where this could be headed.

I haven't fully watched Raw yet this week. Only about an hour in. I'm committed to quality.

I keep an eagle eye. If Elias even walks through catering, I'll catch it.

Not in a way that actually makes sense.

They wanna push Zelina, wanna make Nikki look like a goof, and Rhea was collateral damage.

Word on the street is that Rhea Ripley wants out of WWE. Good luck. That's one thing WWE has on lock and that's the women's division.

How many wrestlers do you think have actually ever owned up to a shitty segment, promo, etc? I know it's almost always the writers/Vince but when you hear things like Bron Breakker picked that name....I just hope the other choices he had were even worse Chilly McFreeze.

It’s pretty wild that Lashley suddenly was thrusted into the championship storyline coming off nothing notable other than losing to Goldberg. Also wild is it appears he’s being utilized as either a face or a tweener now.

Glad we got a rematch of Doudrop and Bianca but saying this was the final chapter when we got the exact same result as last week lol. Awesome, awesome KOD spot on Doudrop.

Theory and Bálor had a pretty fun match. Cool springboard sitting Spanish Fly by Theory. Not sure why you wanted to beat Bálor last week in a tag match to have him win here. At least Theory looked good during the match. I guess these two are getting the treatment of Bianca and Doudrop. Needs a different result than the ladies. The McMahon segment was once again stupid.

The match between The Mysterios and Styles & Omos made me realize that we haven’t gotten enough Rey and AJ in our life. That needs to get corrected. Omos and Styles are mercifully done as a pairing. Who the heck knows how this will play out and who will be the face here. Hopefully brighter things are ahead for Styles as he’s done his time with putting himself second to help build a project.

Styles is going to 2.0ville? They want to get Waller over. Sheesh.

Who figured arm drags would be the backbone of a match between Gable and Orton? It worked! Set up a clever approach to the RKO. I approve.

Priest had been in McIntyre and Reigns-like levels of protection and they just blew it with a count out. The guy barely loses in singles matches so come up with a stupid way for him to lose. Ugh lol.

I really was hopeful that Miz and Edge would be a one and done feud but this feels like it’s angling to a mixed tag match and that it could be prolonged to Mania. I’m sure the first part is happening, but I really hope it’s not dragged out that long. Maryse was not really that good with her promo work during the segment.

The Becky/Liv segment felt like total filler.

The tag mag h for the main event was fine. Felt like the end between Rollins and KO harkened back to Jericho and KO being so chummy and on the same page before it hit the fan. Rather emphatic beat down on Lashley, too.

I liked Belair and Doudrop again. Even though Doudrop lost, this was a case of both women looking better coming out of a feud.

Maryse has never been a great talker, even on her reality show, so it is curious as to why they had her in that segment for so long.

I kind of liked Miz talking for Omos, and wished Omos had been paired with Miz all along, instead of AJ. I am more than ready for AJ to get back into the main event as he has been wasted in this role. Miz, on the other hand, is the perfect guy to help get someone over while doing the talking for them.

Are they trying to make Lashley a face? I hope this doesn't mean they are breaking up him from MVP.
Theory has it in the ring, but he comes across as trying to hard / forced on the mic. He is way better now than when we saw him every week during the performance center days, and he may have a bright future.

Another thing I missed, E is being a little too marginalized to my liking in terms of characters of importance in relation to this title match.

During the brief time I watched RAW, there was an ad promoting an event featuring Rollins v Owens for the WWE title. I know these are done in advance, but neither guy has held the title this year so it's weird to tack that on.

My local commercial had a Smackdown advertisement for February in my city where McIntyre is facing the winner of the Day 1 match between Reigns and Lesnar.

As a Christmas miracle...we can only hope this comes true.....

Well, you know Lashley and Big E, Omos and Riddle, Rhea and Becky, and KO and Finn......

But do you recall......the most missing Raw Star of all?

    Elias the missing Raw Star
    Had some very funny prose
But if you saw him wrestle
    You would say this blows

    All of the weirdo bookers
    Used to write him lame
    They never let poor Elias
    Join on in 24/7 games

Then one foggy Raw eve, Vincent came to say
Elias with your pops so bright, won't you job on RAW tonight?

Then all the midcard loved him
As they shouted out with glee

    Elias the missing RAW star
    You'll give me my 1-2-3.

    What does WWE stand for?

    Where was Elias?!

I SAID WHAT DOES WWE STAND FOR?

    WHERE WAS ELIAS?!

Days since Elias was last seen: 120

Merry Christmas Elias! Merry Christmas @Bert! Merry Christmas EVERYONE!

Not entirely sure what it says that Alpha Academy lost singles matches to RK-Bro. I guess logical booking arrived here. Crowd ooohed when Orton jokingly went for an RKO on Riddle after the hug, so they’ve effectively done their job to build these guys together properly. It’s just a matter of when they break up now.

Street Profits and Mysterios had a pretty good match. Mysterios seemed to have Ford dead to rights but he still kicked out of a finisher and the Profits won clean. Now time to really start the clock on the implosion of the Mysterios.

Grayson Waller might be ahead of Bron Breakker in the 2.0 power rankings if he found his way to a main roster appearance before Breakker. Makes sense to introduce Waller to a new audience. May be a new regime handling things in NXT, but it’s still refreshing to see that NXT handled the interaction between Styles and Waller better than tonight.

Advertise a match and give no reason as why it didn’t happen. Oh well. So we don’t get Omos/Styles and then Styles challenges Azeez, it’s accepted, then Crews steps in during the commercial. WTF lol. At least they had a good match, and Styles decided to mix it up for a fun setup for the Styles Clash. The jury remains out on Omos when it comes to a match, but he appears to be leaps and bounds ahead of Azeez. He looked lost for a simple post match scuffle with Styles. Ouch.

Speaking of advertising a match and giving no reason why it didn’t happen: Bálor vs. Theory didn’t happen and neither were on the show.

Covid roster on deck so Alexander and Benjamin are utilized, it seems. The association of the Hurt Business without actually being The Hurt Business is so weird. Regardless, tough spot for Owens as he was the only guy there that will be in the championship match on Saturday. I guess they made their contractual obligation to fill time here with Owens beating Alexander and giving a stunner to Benjamin.

I think creative has gotten too cute with Priest. They added this duplicitous side to Priest and it’s probably done nothing but confuse the audience. They don’t know how to react to when he turns. It’s not really cool, not compelling, and it’s superfluous. He was fine as he was and they just got bored. Now a guy who was booked impeccably well and never lost has lost two weeks in a row, needlessly…to Dolph Ziggler.

Broodbath < Bloodbath. Edge was twisted when he did that to Rollins. I guess he was just being a prick to do that to Miz and Maryse as they were renewing their vows. Bischoff being there to officiate it seemed really random, but good on him picking up an extra check.

Feels like the live crowd really wants to cheer for Styles, one last face run with one of the big belts before he retires would be awesome.

That “Brood” music will forever get me out of my seat.

Jesus Christ I had heard that Vince was getting old and losing it, and I've seen obvious signs of it with the over all garbage state of the product. But that was the first time I've seen him talk in quite some time and it made me sad.

Edit - HAHAHAHAHA WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO BETH PHOENIX? With deference to sensitivity, I will use a different "R" word than I really should, and just say that hair is looking mighty "regal" these days. (special thanks to RedLetterMedia).

Also, Paul Heyman can hype anyone. Him praising Big E like that actually made me not feel like it was the worst decision for him to take the pin at Day 1. Watching it, I recalled some of the various times he would be lurking around Paul with the MITB, so mayhaps that added to his kayfabe respect. Guess we'll see what happens. It'd be pretty neat if after Brock is gone, Heyman picks up a new client...

Heyman was great on the stick to start the night. He looked disheveled on Smackdown after he was kicked to the curb, and looked fresh as a daisy tonight. I like when he maintains that attention to detail.

They really don’t care about booking Riddle moderately well in matches, do they? I brought this up a few weeks ago and it is wild. The next time they have Orton take a pin or take the heat in a tag match will likely be the first time.

From the Heavens is one of the most captivating moves in WWE today. The height Ford gets with it is incredible. No disrespect to Eddie, but Montez might have the best frog splash.

I guess the upside is that the mixed tag match with The It Couple against The Grit Couple is happening at the Rumble and not at Mania.

Styles honestly looked better in the match with Omos, despite doing very little. For this being the match to break things off, Omos did the bare minimum. It looked like a typical squash match and I’m not sure what that means for his ceiling. Omos moves on to something, and now hopefully Styles moves on to something solid. I mean, he should after he gives himself up for Omos and Waller in NXT.

What is next for Alexa? I guess we will find out soon enough.

Lashley versus Lesnar at the Rumble? I can dig that. The finish here felt like what probably could or should have been the finish at Day 1 if Reigns was there (Lashley pinning Owens). I honestly think this sets up for Lashley to get the win, E to win the Rumble and they square off again. Lesnar then can move on to Reigns at Mania.

Would they really hot potato the title like that? I mean, I know they've done it in the past. But it feels like now that they have it on Brock, he's carrying it until Wrestlemania. And if that's the case, do they just drop him and Reigns? I guess if they go with what Heyman hinted at, in that Roman is nothing without him, couldn't even keep covid at bay, then that would be cool. The guy that wins the Rumble challenges a perceived weak Roman. And if it's the right guy, and he doesn't lose or made to look foolish, can actually gain momentum and be the one to finally end Roman's Reign (ahahaha!). If whoever does do that doesn't put that on a shirt, then another missed opportunity.

    Yes, yes they would.

Reigns/Lesnar is the biggest match they’ve got outside of Rock showing up. I don’t know how it’s a compelling selling point for a Rumble winner to go after a weak champion, as you outlined. That’s a tough story.

Not as face or tweener Lashley, there’s still mileage in Lashley and E. The out was there because Lashley would’ve or could’ve pinned Owens like he did tonight and won the championship at Day 1. E would’ve lost it and didn’t get pinned or submit. Either way, there’s more meat on the bone there.

As for your earlier point with Heyman and E, they spent a lot of time together on Talking Smack last year and they pushed each other and it was good for E’s development. Heyman pushed E, and E responded, so there was mutual respect there.

I think Roman will screw Lesnar with the help of Heyman. The firing of Heyman was a con to trick Lesnar in my opinion.

Heyman is compelling TV. So much of the rest of the show is so predictable, but Heyman has a way of making every possible outcome look believable. I liked his admiration/respect for Big E, and wondered how much of it was him trying to play face alongside his face client Brock, or was it planting seeds for the future, as @Supernovametalstar suggested above. Big E gave a solid promo, showing he still deserves to hang around the title scene.

Grit couple vs. It couple played out as expected for a set-up segment. Looking forward to seeing the Glamazon back in the ring, and she will probably Glam Slam the Miz.

Johnny Knoxville and Austin Theory are the first two announced participants in the Rumble. I am hoping they are the first two entrants, as despite how much I like Knoxville, and I am convinced he can take a sick bump, he isn't that many years younger than I am. But he will probably come in around 13 or 14, as there might be a need for a comic relief spot in a long match.

Doudrop, Liv and Bianca have all been elevated in the past several weeks. While Doudrop should not be potentially getting a title shot after losing several weeks in a row to Belair, I don't mind her being in the #1 contenders match next week, as she can help the others look strong, and keep either of them from having to take a pin.

Alpha Academy getting a win over Team RKBro should have happened a while ago. They've been booked so poorly but it finally looks like they are ready to pull the trigger. If the plan is for RKBro to eventually split and fight at Mania, there's still a lot of TV before then for this to play out.

I am not a hater of the 24/7 title like many fans, but Reggie and Tozawa really do nothing for me. Thankfully, it was kept short, which is the best thing to do in Tamina matches. Dana never tagged in.

They finally seemed to explain some of the dark side/controlled side of Damien Priest. It was puzzling for several weeks, and now that they've explained it, despite how much I like Priest, I kind of felt as if they are making him a really watered down Bray Wyatt/Fiend version 4.0 without the red lights. They got a lot of time, and Dolph brought out some of the best in Priest.

Part of me hopes this is the end of Rhea/Nikki ASH tagging, and that they can come up with something new and better for both of them. Queen Zelina still does nothing for me, and Carmella didn't get a chance to tag in.

Azeez again looks like a terrible waste of time. Montez Ford seems to be getting even better with his Frog Splash, if that was possible. One thing I really like about it is how Dawkins hits the spinebuster right after the tag to Ford, so Crews doesn't have to lay around waiting for the splash for long. After the tag, Ford immediately climbs up to the top rope, and it comes off so smoothly. Far too often, it seems the Splash is set up at least 10 or 15 seconds ahead of time, as if they want to wait for the crowd to get their old style film cameras ready.

I am excited for Bliss to return. She makes the very best out of everything they give her.

Owens took a hell of a dive off the stairs onto Lashley, Big E, and Rollins. This was just a regular RAW, folks. I am glad he is sticking around, but am not sure what comes next for him. I still want to see Big E and Rollins have a long feud, and I am looking forward to Lashley and Brock.

Only in WWE could they have AA lose in the RK Bronament build a story over Otis not being able to be RKOed and have the teams trade single wins til Randy finally do it but then they have AA get their heat back and win the titles. 50-50 booking!

On the flip side though, the loss did have to happen soon so we can get on the road to the eventual Riddle/Orton match.

Lesnar had a some fumble on his promo but he again delivered the goods. Adding more layers to his persona at this stage of the game for him is incredibly gratifying.

All of my disdain for recent weeks finally saw a correction as Orton finally took a pin. A big pin, too. Say what you will about Gable, but he’s won tag gold across all three brands and has done so with three different partners. We’ll see how they get to the next step with Riddle and Orton.

Fairly surprised but inspired by the fact they had a clean finish to Rollins and E. They gave those two a lot of time and they had a good match. Again, clean finish and you like the challenger in Rollins getting a big win. You can see why there would be concern to E losing here but hopefully it can be used as part of a redemption story for him.

Super Brutality underwhelmed as a tandem. Nikki being the one to turn is somewhat surprising and I’m not entirely sure how that will work out for both individuals, unless Nikki gets yet another gimmick change.

I don’t get what WWE sees in Omos in terms of a timeline. He’s not ready and he’s not going to be credible if he’s pushed quickly.

The mixed tag talking segment was going a bit too long but the payoff with Maryse and her acting was actually quite satisfying. All four parties handled their role well here.

Styles/Theory was good for what it was, as expected. That suplex into the neck breaker by Styles was quite smooth and good. Gimmicks collided as Theory and Waller occupied the same space. I appreciate the fact they’re trying to introduce Waller to the big audience but that crowd doesn’t react to him at all. Theory looked much better in his trial run with Styles than Omos did. Man, hopefully Bálor is alright because that story with Theory has thawed and we haven’t seen him in a few weeks.

I give Alexa maybe one more week before her visits with her therapist get stale. The fact she’s back indicates they have something they want to do with her. We’ll see what it actually amounts to.

Seems like we’re certainly set for Becky versus either Bianca or Bianca and Liv at Mania. Tend to think it’s the singles match but you never know. In the meantime, we will get Doudrop, cold as can be, against Becky at the Rumble. Alright.

Some actual interesting happenings on RAW...

OOOH YEAAHH! I tuned in at just the right moment to see him do that big splash on Orton and get a surprising win. I'm happy for Chad Gable, too. He's hung in there with some of the more questionable stuff, and being rewarded.

I really should just put it back on auto-record to the dvr. Other parts of the show I saw in passing:
I like that Rollins is pretty loose when he moves around. Not everyone has to be stiff or hunched over angry. I'm surprised, not surprised Big E lost again, and clean. Big E challenged him to a fight. Rollins said no. Big E goaded him. Rollins accepted, and surprisingly didn't run away or had to be forced into a match. Very face-like of him, actually.

I liked Becky's coat with the little goats on the shoulders. If they aren't selling something like that, that is money left on the table. Her condescension put over of the women in the "trhriple treaht" is on par for her. But then she said she was going to commentary and I had to nope out of that situation. Tuned back in and find out Doudrop is the victor. Her terrible name aside (at the very least let her call herself Piper. No reason she should be saddled with a name, in kayfabe, someone else gave her, doesn't like, and isn't even in the company any longer), it might actually be interesting if Becky can pull off her usual cheat tactics against someone that she can't easily move around.

Reading that Nikki is the one that turned on Rhea is about the only way to make it interesting. My idea was that Nikki slowly turn "comic evil". The other is she gets frustrated after a lose and angrily takes off the comic garb and throws it in the trash. Going forward, I would like it if Rhea says something akin to how she put up with the comic book shit for months, put my personal career on hold, and this is how you do me? Yeah, we put smiles on kids faces and did some good charity stuff, but now it's time for me to focus on winning back the Raw Women's title. And if she isn't in the final six at the Rumble I'll be DISAPPOINTED!

Finally, there's Alexa. I like Alexa. This was a serviceable intro to the road back, as it were. I actually would like it if they filmed it a little differently, so it didn't look like they were in one of their backstage sets, but that's another rant. They missed an opportunity when she threw that glass ball after the doctor had run away and had him yelling in pain at having been hit with it. Then, if they have the same guy next week, he's in some bandage or have a different "doctor" because the other one was too scared. Maybe even set it where there aren't any items to break or throw around. Anything short of the "padded room" stage that would be way too cliche.

Somewhat surprised that they decided to have Priest take a pin here. He’s been so protected but he’s essentially had cracks in his armor from a win-loss perspective since he’s gone through this change. Owens is a guy who makes sense as someone who could beat Priest, but it is still notable to go ahead and book a loss here for your champ, considering who it is. Good match, though.

The stuff with RK-Bro and Alpha Academy was stupid, but seeing Orton in a cap and gown almost salvaged it.

Theory showed the appropriate level of confusion to McMahon’s meanderings. Glad to see Bálor was back from whatever led to him being absent. Match with Theory really didn’t hit a higher gear but it was good for what it was. Bálor really has floundered since he left NXT. Guess they knew they were changing things up in NXT so they wanted to get him out of there, but they really didn’t have much of a plan for him after the fact.

I’d say they did a decent job from a storyline standpoint with the fallout between Nikki and Rhea. This has an opportunity to course correct both characters. Nikki can probably draw some heat for being delusional and Rhea can get some of her edge back. The story really doesn’t need Carmela and Queen Zelina. Oh well.

We’re still going nowhere fast with Omos. The match with Reggie was a waste of time.

Maryse carrying a talking segment was a choice but she did tremendous job drawing heat. The antics for Miz and Maryse are so telegraphed and while Edge can book himself not to look silly, I guess her wife doesn’t have that luxury.

Jimmy Smith seems to have his timing down right for the setup for From the Heavens from Ford. Nice touch by the production team (intentionally or not) to freeze frame the apex of his splash. Kudos to Rey to figuratively say FU to Dom as he showed he’s okay tossing his son over the top rope.

Nice touch to have Lashley’s interview from the podcast with Graves. Lashley was natural and it showed he’s kind of nuts (as fighters can be) because he was smiling while talking about the fact he was going to fight Lesnar. Spectacular video package highlighting the paths the two men forged to get to their superior states. Well done.

    Unsurprisingly nothing new with Alexa.

Pretty good match between Rollins and Lashley. Of course, this is WWE and these two guys couldn’t take a loss so we got a DQ, thanks to The Hurt Business. Of course they’re geeks so Lashley made short work of them after the initial beatdown. Not to be outdone, The Usos showed up and superkicked Rollins. The Usos couldn’t get him on Friday but they got him here.

Pairing the Hurt Biz to break them up to have a meaningless Shelton & Cedric thing to pairing the Hurt Biz back up just to having Lashley destroy them again has been a stupid use of all three of them.

I'd love to see Madcap Moss appear on every show every week. Just give him random run-ins and break up matches. Dude is on fire right now. I need to hit the gym so I can be half of Madcap.

Shelton and Cedric must have really pissed someone off to get this kind of treatment.

Aren't Shelton and Brock friends from way back? I'm not counting on it, but it'd be a nice nod to continuity to have them both align breifly with Brock, a mini-Heyman stable of sorts.

I believe so. Thinking one year in a recent Rumble they had an interaction in-ring before Brock dumped him out.

The weigh in segment had a very low bar to the cross, stemming from the last one we saw (in AEW). It at least met that threshold, but it was pretty boring, minus Lesnar's attire.

Bianca and Zelina had a pretty fun match for what it was. Bianca is good to display athleticism against larger and smaller women, so it's hard to find a match that she's not entertaining in. Zelina did her part as well.

They're really screwing things up with Priest. He was totally on a fine trajectory before they added this alter ego thing. It's been downhill since that. Now you're booking stupid finishes for him and that's also going to make the crowd sour on him. KO always delivers the goods when he's in the ring. He flips back and forth between heel and face rather easily and the crowd is there for the ride, so I'm curious to see where he goes as Mania approaches.

The Academic Challenge seemed to get really over with that audience. It was pretty paint by the numbers in terms of how the segment went and I guess that should be praised to some extent. The tag match was fine, as well.

Styles/Theory was definitely a standout for me. This kind of harkened back to when Theory was just coming around in NXT. He was given a lot of time, went up against a top-shelf performer, and showed that there's certainly something to work with there. The stuff with McMahon just seems like a fever dream at this point. Less of that, more of Theory working in the ring please. Styles was great, which tends to happen when you give him time and has a nice worker with him.

Not really interested in Becky/Doudrop but I guess they could be doing worse with a holdover feud. We'll see if this helps elevate Doudrop any.

Surprisingly clunky match between The Street Profits and Mysterios. There were some rough and potentially scary moments in there. The 50/50 booking hit these two teams, sadly. They're putting so much emphasis on the Rumble and eliminations for these four guys and none of them likely have a puncher's chance of actually winning lol.

The closing segment with Maryse's birthday celebration was fine. Miz hammed it up, as usual. It was pretty cool to see tandem offense by Edge and Beth. You can tell those two put a lot of time and effort towards their craft in the ring. I imagine that will come into full form on Saturday.

I really want KO to win the Rumble. Would love to see Lashley take the title off Brock due to interference from Roman/Paul and then have KO get his 'Mania moment and another run with the belt. He resigned so do something with him.

Low key, a decent Raw. Helps when a chunk of the matches actually have notable stakes on the line. Theory/KO and Styles/Mysterio are the two matches to seek out.

I thought Raw was pretty good as well. The KO/Theory match was not a surprise outcome for me since I don't think KO has gone to Saudi Arabia yet and don't think he intends to. I did like him talking with Rollins about not having to have a qualifying match, and asking Rollins to suggest Rollins should hold out unless KO didn't have a qualifying match either. Theory hung with KO pretty well - but then again its pretty hard for anyone to NOT have a good match against Owens.

Miz needed a win and Dom isn't doing anything of late. Even for a quick match, though, Dom impressed me with his selling and his facial reactions, which helped tell the story that Miz is a crafty veteran. I suspect we may get Rey and Miz feuding over the next several weeks of TV. What is the over/under on how many 619s the Miz will take before Mania?

The scooter race was lame but at least both Gable and Bro played it as well as we could expect - did someone write that Riddle was supposed to say Omos has nice eyes? I liked Pearce suddenly making the Riddle/Otis match a qualifier.

There was a quote going around the other day where Orton talked about how he might be the only person with an exact number of dates he'll work a year and that number is 80. I know a few years ago he went on a part-time contract and that's why we'll see him just randomly vanish.

If you notice he's not there every week and Riddle will shout him out or something goofy. RANNNNDY.

AJ Styles v. Rey Mysterio should've been a TNA X division feud back in the day. It would've required Rey to sign with TNA instead of WWE but still, that would've been cool. They had a really good match though.

Another solid showing by Liv Morgan, despite taking the L; she keeps getting better in the ring and showing that she belongs in the mix. Now if only Vince would pull the trigger at EC.

Absolute banger of a match between Theory/Owens, consider this match the point where I come around to Theory as a legit superstar. The whiny Owens gimmick needs to stop though, he needs to go full badass.

Not overly enthused about Veer Mahaan until I see more of him in the ring, how much he’s progressed in the past 6-8 months. Surely he can’t be worse than Omos, who has been conspicuously absent as of late. I miss Braun on my TV; he could work, had the look and was actually under-rated on the stick when given the opportunity beyond yelling angry muscle guy. He’s having fun right now running the indies with his boys, but I still think we see him back sooner than later.

An extended program with Miz could be just the thing Dom needs, his career cooled off after Rollins spent all that time elevating him.

Would like to see AJ walk out of EC with the strap, one last face run with the big belt before he retires is something I’ve been wanting for a while.

They need to do something with Damian Priest, who has plateaued despite holding the US title since SummerSlam: a heel turn or a shot in the main event after Mania, because the dude isn’t getting any younger.

If Lashey is actually dropping the title to Lesnar in Saudi Arabia, why couldn’t we have simply kept it on Ettore this whole time?

Goldberg, Lesnar, Lita, Rousey. I’m old enough to remember when WrestleMania season meant building up the future of the industry rather than panic moves back to the past by an increasingly incompetent head booker.

Doudrop/Liv was good for what it was.

A lot of the booking for this show that made sense really got wiped out immediately by what happened afterward. Depth might be an issue to some extent, but I doubt it's ideal to have the competitors in the chamber face each other because that likely frames who is going to win. You could just let them get wins against people NOT in the chamber so they might look better going into the chamber.

Theory losing prior to the chamber was 50/50 booking at its worst and probably doesn't help his chances in rising up the card.

I really enjoyed the full opening segment - it is fun seeing Gable completely control the crowd as he's fully embraced this character. I loved how he admonished the crowd to "Don't boo education!" Otis has also done well in his role - his facial expressions and gestures supporting Gable early in the contest were spot on. Riddle and Randy both got a chance to shine in their parts, and despite it being a really long talking segment to set up a title match, the crowd was with them the entire time. Too often, WWE writes these long ass segments where the crowd ends up chanting "BORING", and if any of the performers messed something up this could have been a disaster. Credit all around - even a shout out to Kevin Patrick - for a very watchable segment.

Theory looked great, even in a loss. Kevin Owens has that ability to bring out the best in his opponent. I'm less concerned about his loss here because I didn't expect him to have any chance in the EC anyway. He more than showed he can hang with a top level star and I am looking forward to seeing it he can prove it wasn't a flukey thing, or if maybe he belongs with the top guys.

I suspect he gives a good showing in the EC, maybe he eliminates Bobby early before Brock even gets in the match, but he inevitably falls. Despite a good showing, Vince will only tell him he's disappointed in him, he had his shot, and that the real stars of this business take what they want. Then, he will attack Priest leading to a program where he wins the US title at Mania. But the other hopeful option for me is that he eliminates Rollins, and turns tweener/face with a killer promo the following week about how Rollins was supposed to be the Monday Night Messiah, but he forgot how Theory supported him and just left him out to dry, thinking he'd be forgotten like AOP, Aleister Black and Murphy - difference is that Theory is still around, and it's his time now.

Bliss getting more TV time is good, but her crying about a doll is not.

Lita and Becky will be fun - Lita was never great on the mic but she delivered here. I like how Becky was initially complimentary/respectful about how Lita is an inspiration to so many, and then her turning it around so well. Good stuff.

The future for Theory may be bright, but I suspect he might instead end up more like a Dolph Ziggler - a good hand who can sell really well, but lacks that something that make the crowd continue to care about his matches.

I look forward to more of Miz and Dominik. Miz pointing out the height difference between father and son, and the line about Eddie, was the highlight. Maryse being on TV is a plus, but her suggesion that Dom/Rey call themselves Maryse-sterio didn't hit.

Doudrop needed a dominant win, but so does Liv. Bianca defeating Nikki ASH was no surprise, as nobody believes in Nikki anymore. Her heel turn has been a disaster.

And of course, WWE stands for Where Was Elias?

Also it looked like up until a few months ago they were trying to protect Priest and on his way to better things. Now he’s just like any other champion losing non-title matches. Plus this schizo split personality thing bringing the “Damian” out is pretty dumb.

Though we might have Randy in a toga next week.

I'd suggest you check out all of the Raw Exclusive interviews Nikki keeps doing, as they are clearly building to something with her. She seems to be snapping. Her heel turn hasn't been ground breaking by any means, but the time they are consistently dedicating to it def does not read as a "disaster."

    Brock is the best.

The women’s division is going to be fun when Bianca and Rhea really lead the charge. They’ve got very good chemistry together.

Color me very intrigued with what Owens is doing and the implication of where it could be heading.

Yeah that was more like the Rhea we know and love.

Owen’s anti-Texan shtick at a best guess is leading to an angle if not a match with a Texas legend. I might be in the minority here as most would probably prefer him in a match but an angle with Austin would be a pipe dream. I could take that over him not wrestling because it would be damn entertaining (provided Austin wants to participate of course).

If we're talking Texans, I'd rather see the spectacle of a Taker entrance at a Mania in JerryWorld instead of Austin. Austin's stack of dimes neck scares the heck outta me.

Why would Austin even consider wrestling again, the risk far outweighs the reward. Besides, if there was any fire there, we probably would have smelled smoke back in, like, the end of October or early November. Some dirtsheet would have broke the news that “Austin is training, getting back in shape”.

What was that quote by Taker, that it took him like six months to prepare for his last couple Mania matches? And he was at least sort of still active. Austin is 57, hasn’t wrestled since 2003 and has a shitty neck.

The whole Austin-KO thing is stupid. Just cause they have the same finisher? They should have Cody vs. Austin. Which would make sense, if they're paying Cody a big price, and they can get him more attention by a program with Austin repping Vince McMahon as a pseudo AEW vs. WWE match.

Moderately decent Raw but would’ve been a lot better in two hours.

    I love Brock.

Dawkins is trying as hard as he can to show he shouldn’t be a forgotten man in his tag team. There’s still plenty of mileage in the Street Profits.

Priest is floundering as a character now. Should be interesting if they read the room and just have him cheat to beat Bálor next week.

Bianca looked incredible against Doudrop (Doudrop was great), and Becky sold the threat of Bianca through commentary. It’s wild that Bianca is poised to be two of the four horsewomen over two straight Manias.

Edge essentially left breadcrumbs for Styles, Bálor, Priest, and even Cody. I imagine it’ll be Styles.

Pretty good tag main event. Feels like the tag division is getting some good shine. Hard to see Alpha Academy losing, so the two losing teams will go on their own paths.

I enjoyed Raw again this week.

Brock's opening promo was a good way to pop the crowd, and Heyman always delivers. I thought it was interesting that Brock would call Heyman such a dick, but the crowd certainly ate it up. Brock likes to have his appearances on first, so he can take his private jet home. Good for him. There's no way he's losing the title at Madison Square Garden two weeks before Mania.

The Alpha Academy is hitting on all cylinders. It helps for them to work with a team they are so familiar with, the Street Profits, and this was booked well. Gable is really shining on the mic - and he is managing to keep Otis looking like a complete monster. Dawkins worked his ass off.

Priest has been stale for a while. He was hot when he won the title from Sheamus, and he even got a rub from Drew early on. But his title reign has been lackluster despite its considerable length. It has been treated as an afterthought - he just isn't capable of elevating others, and his matches seem like time filler on a three hour show. The long stretch with matches against Miz/Morrison, T-Bar, Ziggler and Roode did not help, but then they follow it with having him either look like crap in non-title matches, lose against the top tier guys like AJ and KO. To make things worse, he looked like complete garbage in the Rumble - he should not have been even in the Rumble match, he should have had a title defense on his own. But it was made even worse when Bad Bunny was also in the same Rumble, because it reminded everyone that Bad Bunny outshined him last time, and this Rumble Bad Bunny got a couple of eliminations, and lasted a lot longer, while Priest looked like garbage against Omos. They've been trying to stumble into a conflicted character with Priest being good while the Damien side of him is a mess, but it just isn't working. Maybe he goes more Damien side against Balor, and we will get the Demon vs Damien at Mania.

Reggie is terrible. I am also jealous of him for his segment with Dana Brooke. I know a lot of fans aren't happy with the 24/7 title scene, but this could have been worse. I can't believe I am typing this, but the Tozawa/Tamina segment was perhaps the highlight for me.

Ripley deserves a better storyline than this. I hope she gets a meaningful mania spot.

I like Edge's promo calling out everyone - I hope we get him vs. AJ Styles at Mania.

Main Event was solid. I am not sure where they are going with all of this, and that makes it more fun to watch. If we are going to get Seth vs. KO and Randy vs. Riddle at Mania, how are we going to get there?

Ciampa/Balor vs. Dirty Dawgs was fine for what it was, but it was pretty obvious that Roode was taking the pin as they want to keep Ciampa/Ziggler both look good heading into tonight on NXT.

Miz always delivers with MizTV. Rey has never been special on the mic but he gets his point across, and Dominik is finally starting to look more comfortable on the mic. I liked Miz teasing that his partner would be Dashing and from a family of fighters because it made fans think about the possibility of Cody, and Logan Paul is a natural heel. The Skull Crushing Finale is easy enough to deliver/take, and Dominik is very convincing at selling. Is it too early to predict a double 619 for both Miz and Paul at Mania?

Bianca and Doudrop work well together. I want to see Bianca develop her character to become more than just a "OMG I am so happy to be here"

I was listening to Cornette and Brian Last talk about how no matter what the fuck is going on in her world , Bianca is smiling and whipping that hair around. BTW, that hair has got to go. It's just too gimmicky. I can't wait for her to lose it in a hair v. hair type match.

Bianca needs a stronger character. I don't mind the hair though. She just doesn't come off like a "superstar" when she's jumping up and down on ramps like a kid who was just told they're getting McDonald's, after winning a match.

If Cody gets involved with a Raw storyline, seems a little too good to be true to re-debut him on March 14 (Jacksonville). My guess for Austin would be the following week (Chicago). He loves the Allstate Arena. That only leaves one more Raw before Mania but I think they don’t want to burn him out before getting to Mania.
