There appears to be correlation between folk who voted for Friends and folk who play games on easy mode.

Well I'm a semi pro fifa but I do play most action/shooting etc games on easy first, Surely this is common sense though why go straight in at the deep end?

    Sci-Fi and Fantasy top 10 (there's actually 17 in this top 10)

No surprises at number 1 and 2.
Good to see DS9 on any list. But I actually wouldn't mind seeing a DS9 remake as it hasn't aged well in a lot of areas and they could get straight in to the Dominion stuff rather than fannying about for a couple of seasons.
Babylon 5 is a load of shit.
I wonder where Firefly would have been if it had gotten a full run.
At the other end of the list Watchmen propped things up, I imagine that being a lot higher down the line if it gets a few more seasons.

Game of Thrones was really good but it sucks the writing went to shit in the final couple seasons. I know that's a topic that's been well documented, but in terms of where it ranks all time... I was ready to put it up there in the top 5 dramas with Sopranos, The Wire, Mad Men etc. I think the final couple seasons dropped it down a level below those other shows. It's still a top 10 drama of all time for me.

Lost had a similar trajectory with its final 2 seasons being a huge drop off.

Stranger Things is cool. It's had 3 seasons and only 1 of them (season 2) was weak. I thought season 3 was the shit.

    Surprised Westworld didn’t make it.

Also surprised DS9 is over TNG.

Heroes is also a shocker to make it.

Really I think I disagree the most with this list.

If we took this poll three seasons ago then GoT is fine being number one. But there was just too much shit in the last three seasons. Considering it’s an overarching story I think it’s poor end seasons hurts more than other shows with poor endings.

So much of the things that irked in the final seasons I was ok with explaining away with “oh they’ll explain it later” only to get awful answers or no answers at all.

Lost also dropped in my ranking for that but I still put it above GoT by a slot. Claire=Kate

So in our quest to find out some interesting results about our viewing habits, we've established that our favourite shows are Breaking Bad, Seinfeld and Game of Thrones

We're exactly as boring as everyone else, basically.

Brooklyn 99 has really moved way up my list. Just did a rewatch of everything and I really want more.

Same goes for Curb. Larry david just need to knock out 3 or 4 seasons at a time.

Surely you should combine Dr Who and Doctor Who? Combined they may be in 7 or 8th place I'd imagine

Friends had a couple of good episodes early on (Personal highlight - The one where no-one's ready) but descended into self-parody later.

DS9 only got good after Worf joined and Sisko went bald.

It was an ok sitcom in 2000 when I was 13 years old, I laughed quite a bit. It has aged absolutely horribly, most episodes are borderline unwatchable now.

I don't have to get into the recent-ish ethical debates about the show's attitude towards homosexuality and gender etc (though it doesn't help) - most of the jokes are just really dull and lazy.

The dividing line with Friends being good was Chandler and Monica hooking up (S5). Before that it was usually very good, sometimes great; after that, Monica castrated him and made him pathetic and the whole show was never very good again.

I thought Westworld would be higher, it was about mid table I think. The second season is to blame there, it was a frustrating watch.

Star Trek wise I’d have DS9 over TNG, having an overarching story really set it apart.

The more accurate dividing line was everyone finding out about M&C. I liked the part when they were hiding it from everyone.

"They don't know that we know they know we know" still makes me laugh.

Agreed that Friends jumped the shark with Monica & Chandler. Peak Friends is seasons 2-4. Everything's still fresh, Chandler's sarcasm is funny, Joey doesn't have brain damage, Ross and Rachel is still interesting, Phoebe is acceptable and Monica hasn't turned into an obnoxious psychopath yet.

5 is a step down but still good. 6 is worse but watchable. 7, 8 and 9 have their moments but are practically unwatchable for the most part. 10 is the best season since 6.

People pretend Ross wasn't always the best thing on the show. He is outstanding in the jealousy angle in season 3.

    (y) All good.

Watching The Office (US version) and on season 6, not as funny as the last ones.

    Cartoon time!

Too many grown up cartoons in this list really, The Cartoon vote was split between here and the kids programmes though, so belters like Animals of Farthing Wood will appear there in case you are worried.
The Simpsons really? I cant remember the last time I watched it, maybe it was the constant repeats we got that killed it for me, but hasn't it just gone on way too long?
I think deep down we all know that Tom and Jerry is actually the best.
Was disappointed The Raccoons just missed out on the the top ten and Danger Mouse has been criminally underrated here.

Thing is, I voted for The Simpsons at number one (I think) because for 8 years it was in the conversation for the best TV show ever. It's actually underrated most of the time.

By rights, it probably shouldn't win now because for 20 years it has been fucking dreck. But I'm assuming most people who voted it high are choosing the show The Simpsons (1989-1997), and not Middling, Familiar Background Noise (1997-2001) or Shitty Bollocks Mess (2001-present).

Also guys Family Guy is fucking shit.

Simpsons rightfully first but Family Guy ahead of South Park. Wow.

Family Guy is better than South Park, especially the early seasons.

I'd love to see Romford's lists. I could probably guess them - the most bland, boring, obvious shows in every single spot. Not to say that all of them would be bad at all, just a total lack of curiosity.

And some terrible shit for morons like Family Guy as well of course.

Gangers...post your cartoon list then. I'm sure it's filled with not obvious shows.

Of course everyone's list will have obvious shows. They're obvious for a reason.

Kids shows today, aka the nostalgia section. Technically there were 43 entries in the top 10 as the scoring was so close across the board. Ive cut that down to the highest scoring top 15:

Knightmare was my all time favourite after school show, I imagine it hasn't aged well though. It was bastard hard for kids I think I only remember maybe 4 teams ever getting to the end.
BBC/ITV after school stuff was immense. Do they even make shows like that any more? What do kids even watch now?
The A-Team is still amazing, that then Knightrider, then Baywatch then Gladiators, that's a Saturday afternoon/evening absolutely sorted.
I imagine kids shows being very important for parents right now. Question for parents, would they watch old (good) stuff or would they think it was shit?

Damn can't believe I forgot to put Dinosaurs on my list. Would probably have vaulted it into 4th.

This is such a big America/Britain divide though I imagine. I legit cannot picture 2,3,4 or Knightmare. Can't even say I've heard of them before.

I think kids would find the stuff from the past awful because of the animation not being "HD". These days they get graphics that would have been unheard of in our time as kids from a cheap youtube video.

Astonished and delighted to see Animals of Farthing Wood take the silver. An almost unbelievably good kids show. Crazy dark, full of great lessons for kids but not in that saccharine 'I've learned something today' style, and a really ahead of its time pro-environment, anti-capitalist political message. And yet also just an enjoyable show about some animals on a journey with tons of memorable characters - I can still distinctly remember the voices of at least 6 or 7 of them. God damn.

Knightmare was the tits, especially series 1-3. Went a bit downhill after introducing 'outdoor' locations and the dragon, though.

    Sports/News/Live events

Very few lists submitted for this, which was disappointing as to me this was the category that really showed the depth of what television is beyond dramas and sitcoms.
No surprise with number 1, obviously not a favourite, but easily the biggest news event in most of our lives, I expect we all remember seeing the coverage and where we were and who we were with.
No written drama will ever be as epic as a truly great sporting moment. Beckham's free kick against Greece, massively underrated here.
I watched every single game of France 98, great tournament from start to Finnish.
And there is also some gigs on there, so that's a thing.

    Attenborough bosses this obviously.
The World at War is an entire History GCSE's worth of watching and was made at just the right time as they got to speak to so many people who were there and still vividly remembered the events.

Gladiators just missed this top "10" so I think a few of you who didn't vote for it really need to have a word with your selves.

The world will always miss Anthony Bourdain. He ate and drank his way around so many parts of the world, and ones you wouldn't always think of as well. I'll always be glad I got to eat Les Halles and will always think of Bourdain if there is a proper blood and guts dish on a menu that I want to give a go.
Top Gear was great, it isn't any more, Clarkson is an obvious bellend, but those 3 were always great watch.
I never liked Man V Food, it always seemed such a horrible concept.

    Wrestling:

I just re-watched WrestleMania 17 today for the first time in many many years. Fuck that TLC was some dangerous shit.
Royal Rumble 2000 was the first PPV I watched when I got back in to wrestling as an 18 year old having not watched since very early secondary school, be spoilt there really.
One Night Stand was an odd one for me, I'd never watched ECW but though that was top to bottom a really good show.

Shows what a stellar year 2000 was and how good that stretch was from RR 2000 to WMX7. Backlash 2000 is a special show to me.

Delighted to see Summerslam 92 in there, one very close to my heart.

What was that great about Raw1000 bar the CM Punk heel turn? Don't recall.

Nothing, it was actually dreck. No idea what people are getting at there.

Fully Loaded 2000 was insanely good. It's so rarely talked about and I genuinely think it might be in the five best PPVs ever. The worst match on it by miles is Al Snow vs Tazz which is a) short and b) perfectly watchable.
