Also I think, and call it unfair all you like, but Brady got at least a little bit of a franchise builder nod with the MVP award.

This season is understandably given so much credit to him and his influence to Tampa turning the corner and getting the job done that this award is kind of a final appreciation for his efforts on the whole.

Forty-nine pass attempts, with 52 dropbacks for Mahomes and he was pressured on 29 of those. Yikes.

I'm interested to see how Tampa organizes their roster next season. Honestly, Godwin is relatively expendable. Team offense is easier to maintain consistency from season to season so they need to make sure they take care of business on the defensive end, while Bowles is still around to run things.

I don't think it's absurd to give Brady the MVP.

Once they made adjustments early on offense and he starting calling out every correct protection and every correct audible and hit every timely throw and nailed the TD passes to Gronk and AB.. I mean, he didn't have eyepopping numbers but he was pretty damn money in many several ways really.

And while the defense was stellar it wasn't like the game was won 14-9 or something. They put up 31. White would have been fine, but JPP and Barrett were causing just as much problems for the KC oline.

If you disagree with Brady getting it that's one thing, but to call it absurd or act like it's a crime against football is a bit much.

agreed with all this. Brady was pretty easily the best choice for MVP. 3TDs, 0 INTs, 125.6 rating. White was great too but his pick came in garbage time. Brady only had 201 yards but he controlled the game and capitalized on all the Chiefs' mistakes.

To extrapolate or modify his point: ALL of the touchdowns scored were scored by guys Brady recruited. The ones mentioned above, and Fournette for the rushing one.

thinking on this season as a whole and what Brady did for the Bucs organization... I think it's very arguable that Tom Brady in 2020 was the most valuable player in a single season in NFL history.

which is not to say the 7-9 Bucs of last year were chopped liver, they had a lot of talent already. but I can't think of a comparison to this as far as one player coming aboard and having this effect/outcome.

this was a giant legacy game/season for Brady which widens the already grand canyon sized gap between him and any other quarterback to have ever played the game.

From just before the season began.

Just some early season predictions. Maybe I can not be super wrong on too many of these.

- The Cowboys are going to be crazy good. Like Super Bowl good. (AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)

- Ravens are going to come back down to earth. They'll make the playoffs but they won't win the division or stomp on teams nearly the way they did last year. (Pretty much)

- Cleveland is going to be much better. Much much better. It just wont matter because they still can't eclipse Balt and Pitt. (Big self-pat on the back)

- The Saints will start out looking like a SB team then completely flame out by the end of the season. (Brees always gets hurt these days and doesn't play well at the end of the year. So this isn't a prediction. More like a fact of life.)

- Wilson will look like fucking Superman willing the Seahawks to several wins they shouldn't get on his way to the MVP. (Started out true. Then he just kept holding the football. He's still holding it.)

- The Titans will win the AFC South while still going 9-7 for the 20th year in a row. (Better than expected)

- I don't buy the Colts. 7-9 at best. (Wrong)

- Mike Tomlin is going to look like a genius this year and get rid of all the sayers of nay. Leading to him coaching the Steelers for another 15 years. (Up till week 13 or so I was totally right)

- SF is going to come back to earth to some degree. But will still win an amazingly close divisional race between SF/Sea.(Nope)
