The best way around it would be for the elite vs inner circle feud to continue for a couple months, and eventually Jericho actually challenges Cody to a match for the title, but with Cody putting his career on the line and in a stipulation with the deck stacked against him.

I honestly don't know if I want to see Chris Jericho at this stage of his career wrestling someone like Cody Rhodes for an hour. I like Cody but I'm not a big enough fan to want to see him go 60 minutes. Jericho as a character just keeps getting better or remains awesome, but his wrestling obviously has dipped. 20 years ago, I would have loved to have seen him throw down with Guerrero, Malenko, Ultimo Dragon for an hour no doubt. These days....Eh.

Hell let's say 10 years ago, HBK v. Jericho in a 60 minute Iron Man match would have been killer. Not now though, not with Cody. Cody doesn't need to be doing no hour bullshit.

You know who I want to see go 60 minutes? Mox v. Omega. I think those 2 have such different styles but work well in terms of telling a story that it could keep me interested. It's like with Omega v. Okada going that long, they had to incorporate some hardcore elements and not just catch as catch can grapple bullshit.

I know of Chekov's gun where you don't introduce a gun on the stage without the intention of using it. But you don't have to use it in the first "act" as it were for AEW.
