So I think buried up to their necks means they can only see the one in front of them.
Andy can only see the one person in front of him, and if he saw white, he'd know he'd have black.
But he says nothing. Same for Belle - if he saw white in front of him, he'd know he had black. But he said nothing.
So it must be Colin, who announces that he must be wearing black, because he heard nothing from the other two.
