When you think about it, Bray should be on both shows. The character is too big to be confined to just one. The gimmick makes it convenient because he doesn't have to physically be there. They can just air Firefly Funhouse segments until Bray decides to show up and attack someone.

With Becky and AJ being the only champions eligible to be drafted Friday, they went #1 and #2, makes sense that Seth and Brock went first tonight too. However, shouldn’t Baylee have been #3 tonight followed by the IC champ and all the tag champs?!?

You don't have duplicates of some clothes? I pretty much wore the same thing today I wore Friday too.

It sounds like the Kabuki Warriors will defend their belts on both brands until they lose them, so maybe if say The RAW Tag Team Champions are drafted to SmackDown, they'll have to continue to defend their titles on RAW until they lose them...

So they aren't really getting the belts, just the wrestlers...?

Then have Bliss say well Nattie's really never done anything special blah blah blah. Nattie could come out and tell Bliss off, and we get a Lacey/Nattie tag vs Bliss/Cross.
If history suggests anything, she's going to be in a tag team with Natalya.

Are the Usos and Naomi getting drafted by AA?
Also noticeably absent, Sarah Logan, Fire & Desire, Ember Moon... were these mentioned as ineligible?
I think Heath Slater got shafted again too. Jesus. He needs this job.

An all time bad final 10 minutes. At least Smackdown got pretty much everybody with a modicum of charisma so Raw can pretty much be avoided at all costs from here on out, while Smackdown has a chance to return to form.

This would be a good time to retire the Firefly Funhouse...
The best time would have been when The Fiend debuted at SummerSlam...
The second best time is now...

The Smackdown womens division seems weak, outside of Sasha & Bayley. Raw tag division looks like it's missing a few parts, but that's a strength on Smackdown. A few of those missing names could correct both those problems.

From Raw's perspective, I'm interested to see which reported Heyman projects bubble up. There's plenty of intriguing guys (Ricochet, Black, Rusev, Joe, Muphy, and McIntyre) so it'll be fascinating to see how they're booked. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Raw's tag picture is going to be more entertaining compared to Smackdown's division. There's plenty of name recognition with the top two teams on Smackdown but it feels thin. Raw's side is thin but there's fun pairings to work with there. Street Profits are going to get a lot of attention, I presume. I would be pretty shocked if AoP ended up on Smackdown because there's a money tag feud waiting there between AoP and Viking Raiders. Following my assessment of the divisions, guessing The Usos end up on Smackdown.

From Smackdown's perspective, The Fiend is definitely the wild card element. Probably inclined to see a LOT of Corbin as a prominent heel on that show (if Lesnar isn't around a lot). The usage for Reigns and Bryan will be something to watch. If Bryan is a face, both have the potential to really be pushed extremely hard. There's not a compelling face at the moment in the women's division on Smackdown. Gulak basically being separated from the rest of the 205 Live crew is something. Don't know what to make of that.

I believe Ember is dealing with yet another injury. A possible Achilles tendon which of course would sideline her a really long time if it's bad.

Naomi lost a loved one and is dealing with some heath issues...
    Trinity Fatu

    @NaomiWWE

I’ve faced some trying times the past few months...losing a loved one so dear to me (rocked me to my core) & handling my own health issues I wasn’t aware of forced me to slow down & reevaluate...I want my loving fans to know that I’m ok and will be back when the time is right
Also, Jimmy Uso was arrested for a DUI less than 3 months ago, this after he was arrested in February for allegedly threatening to fight a police officer while he was drunk...

I watched the first FOX show and Raw last night (during breaks in the football), first WWE TV since Wrestlemania. This is an objectively terrible wrestling promotion now. Where did it all go wrong? They've been cocking up for years, but how did they stoop so low? I can't fathom it. Take it back 6 years to the day. Yeah the Authority angle sucked at points, but you were dealing with stars. What happened? Back then we had:

John Cena - regular, top 5 draw all time
CM Punk - trending down but a year removed from peak
Daniel Bryan - peak of popularity
Brock Lesnar - part timer, not yet paint-by-numbers suplex city guy
Randy Orton - rejuvenated after needed heel turn
Triple H - part timer, rejuvenated after needed heel turn
Roman Reigns - nailed on breakout superstar when going singles
    Seth Rollins - see Reigns
    Dean Ambrose - see Reigns
Bray Wyatt - undefeated, major mystique
Cody Rhodes - freah off face turn, Sandow feud and sticking up against Authority
Damien Sandow - current MITB holder, when it had a 12/13 success rate
Alberto Del Rio - reigning strong World champion
Dolph Ziggler - recently turned face, had ball dropped

Guys like Sheamus, Ryback, Barrett, The Miz, Kofi, Show, Kane, Mysterio, Christian and Swagger were still around and mostly over, but with limited top star potential at that point (and truthfully, only Miz and Kofi ever regained it). Guys like Harper, Rowan, Big E, Cesaro and the Uso's were looking like they could break out imminently. This wasn't even close to a peak roster either (like a 2002 or 2006), but a point of comparison to today.

Who, outside of maybe Daniel Bryan (who himself isn't as popular as 2013 Bryan), is as popular today as even Ziggler was back then? Not even hyperbolic. There's no stars on these shows anymore.

I really don't understand the oversight with Rollins. The reaction of the audience at the PPV should have tipped them off that Rollins wasn't over more than The Fiend for that moment. They're essentially doubling down on making it seem like you should like Rollins for what he's doing. On top of that, they've double booked him for Crown Jewel...

Part of me wonders if they're going to use the trade aspect that they teased Friday and Monday in regards to The Fiend. The annoying thing is that they barely promoted to the Backstage show for Tuesday night and they can't announce a firm time because it's after a baseball game.

Heyman wanted the Fiend on RAW by all reports but still put him on Smackdown. I can't see him staying on Smackdown while feuding with Rollins. I can't wait to see how they fuck up Rollins vs Wyatt at Crown Jewel.

The below makes sense to me if it happens. Not sure why Harper or AOP wouldn't be drafted lol

    RAW

    Harper
    AOP
    Iconics

    Smackdown

    Cesaro
    Usos
    Nia Jax
    Fire and Desire

Harper is going to Raw or limbo. I'd put Cesaro on NXT.

I'd keep AoP on Raw because there's a major battle waiting to be had with the Viking Raiders. I'm indifferent on Nia. They need a strong female face though.

Low key great decision: having The OC and Street Profits working together for at least week. Hopefully that lasts for a while. In the short term, that would be a great way for SP to get acclimated to wrestling in front of a main-roster audience and doing so against a very serviceable tag team. Long term, Montez Ford getting some time to tussle with AJ Styles can only help his trajectory.

I really don't know what to say about the draft. It's all kind of a blur. I can't see too many promising feuds at the moment, but I'll have to look over the complete rosters later. And wasn't there supposed to be some big draft pick last night? I can't think of anyone that could be considered big.

The two drafts picks that genuinely surprised me were Jinder and Liv. Both have been MIA for a while. Are they actually going to get pushes?

This Backstage show is definitely something. I think it goes up quite a bit if Punk actually is added. It does try to weave some actual analysis with storyline touches. It's probably a tough line to walk but they're trying. It had a segment with Cain and Rey. It was definitely a nice way to put a spotlight on Velasquez and why he's in the mix. It's definitely going to be a show you can watch that attempts to catch you up on what is happening on Raw and Smackdown.

The second half got a little hokey. It did have a comedy sketch involving Rollins that was more endearing than what we've seen in a month or so. Crossover segment with an athlete was a little eh. The end with trolling folks on Twitter has potential. The show has some Talking Smack elements or potential to it with a shined up Fox formatting.

Like real sports, I really wouldn't put a lot of stock in what it actually means when it comes to future considerations. Feels like it's a loophole they're conveniently using to facilitate the move.

    Last bit of moves:

    To Raw
    - No Way Jose
    - Mojo Rawley
    - Ryder and Hawkins
    - Sarah Logan
    - The IIconics

    To Smackdown
    - Luke Harper
    - Cesaro
    - Dana Brooke
    - Drake Maverick
    - Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville

Harper and Cesaro don't make a lot of sense because I don't think anything is going to change for either of them just from a surface-level view. Harper is now apart from Rowan (again), so that means he's probably back to doing nothing (again). The more I look at it, Raw looks like the show that's looking to the future and building guys. Cesaro doesn't fit the mentality to an extent but he's now going to a show where he's going to be overshadow by a ton of people.

I'd say Harper needs to be with Rowan.... They're a team.. and Raw needs teams.
So I'd also give them Bludgeon Bros, Ryder/hawkins and AOP.

Unless the Usos come back any time soon and hen they and Naomi automatically go to Raw, and then you can move AOP over to SmackDown.

With Bliss/Cross together again on SD, you can now put fire and desire on one side, the Iconics on the other (as was, i had them both on SD, but they can go etiher way)

Jose needs to go back over to NXT. He's a likeable character, but he is not getting over outside of the NXT arena.

    Brooke, Rawley - Raw
Maverick, Logan - Send her to SD to be a thorn in Bliss's side.

And then let Cesaro just be the one guy that everyone forgets about so he can just go to both shows and beat up everyone.. Swiss-cyborg style!

Isn't Harper leaving in like a month anyway?

I think both shows are having a nice mix of up and comers and veterans. Raw has just as many established guys as Smackdown. Cesaro, God bless the fans out there that are still holding on thinking this guy is somehow one day going to be this top tier main event World title contender. Keep thinking that because it probably keeps him motivated to stick around.

When is Sheamus due back? Either ship Cesaro off to NXT or pair the Bar back up at this point.

Not a fan of Owens going to RAW. I mean he beat Shane recently to end his run on Smackdown, so now he could just end up on RAW to torment Owens awhile longer. Could've seen a longer face run on Smackdown with the idea of ridding Smackdown of Shane, but this will all be forgotten when Shane interferes and helps Drew beat KO in a few weeks.....

I honestly think Sheamus is done. Spine issues.

I could have swore the stip was Shane was fired from not just Smackdown, but the WWE.

Steph said he was fired when KO was drafted. She didn't say just from SD.

I kind of feel bad for Sheamus and his legacy. Here's a guy who has beaten all the top guys like Cena, Orton, Triple H, Daniel Bryan, Punk, Roman, etc. He's KOTR winner, Rumble winner, multi time World champ, he's held all the midcard titles, tag-team titles. But when it's all said and done, I think we'll just remember his image and not the accomplishments.

Why do you think that is? Or maybe I'm alone.

I think he’ll be remembered for his accomplishments but not as one of the all-time greats as such that could carry a brand. Whenever he was being pushed right to the top, it felt more of a transitional basis. He’s not won the IC title yet so if he returns and wins that then they can always tout him as having won all the titles which could help his legacy.

I wouldn’t mind if they wanted to play it safe and have him return to the ring at next year’s Rumble for example. I’m sure he’d get a great pop.

Seems like he was a recipient of being viable when opportunities were present. You match all of those names you listed with his and it's clear he's at the bottom of the list by far. He wasn't pushed remotely as hard as any of those guys and just seems like was a performer of convenience that was able to bubble up when necessary...aka transitional. He remained credible enough to stay in the mind's eye.

For some reason I thought he was a former IC champion.

I think what it comes down to is more often than not, his accomplishments didn't have any real substance to them. They all seemed to happen when he wasn't exactly in a position that we should care about those accomplishments.

He’s the poster child for ‘safe pair of hands’ never lets anyone down, can get a’good’ match pretty much anywhere on the card and wrestle at any level at a moments notice, plus he’s good on the mic and does comedy well

He’s pays the price for being versatile.

I will always remember Sheamus for two things. First, his tea party with Santino (also Kozlov's finest moment ever)

Second, his telling Beaker from the muppets that he can't make the family reunion. John Cena calling him a jar of mayonnaise with a ketchup haircut didn't help.

So yeah, it's his look that mattered most. His brawler-style ring work was adequate, but he will never be remembered as being a part of anyone's best match ever.

Hmm, that's interesting, someone being versatile and it not being a positive on their career.

I get what you're saying, he can be put anywhere so it leaves him open to working lesser feuds. But he's had some big matches, big feuds, they just never resonated on a level that made you immediately think of him as one of the more accomplished wrestlers in WWE.

I will say this, if you made a top 10 based purely on achievements over the last 10 years, I would have to include him. He might not have the memorable feuds and matches of a John Cena or Edge, but you can't deny what he's done.

Also when he first debuted, his initial push leading to victory over Cena seemed fast but they could’ve presented it better like he comes in and brutalises Cena taking him by surprise. Instead it was a fluke as Cena accidentally falling through the table so it was more about Cena losing by accident rather than Sheamus impressing.

Put it this way - I am not saying he won't be in the Hall of Fame - but I don't see him headlining any HOF class. And I am not sure I agree with you on his achievements being all that special - especially because his matches are never the best, and his feuds are all just sort of there. In the past 10 years I'd argue that following have held more important/meaningful achievements than Sheamus -

    Rollins
    Lesnar
    Reigns
    Owens
    Jericho
    HHH
    Cena
    Orton
    Bryan
    AJ Styles
    CM Punk
    Kofi
    Charlotte

    That's a dozen.

Probably around the same level as Sheamus, I'd have the following -

    Miz
    Del Rio
    Rey Mysterio
    Ambrose
    Batista

All of these have arguably been treated as a bigger deal than Sheamus.

The Rock also held the title in the past 10 years, but most of his good stuff was well before then. So we can exclude him.

Others who had lengthy or big wins, but would probably rank lower than Sheamus for the past 10 years, might include -

    Jinder
    Kane
    Big Show
    Nikki Bella
    Goldust
    Cody Rhodes
    R Truth
    Ziggler
    Cesaro
    The Uso's
    Drew McIntyre
    Edge
    Christian
    Wade Barrett
    Ronda
    Becky

This is off the top of my head, so I have probably forgotten a few. Sheamus is fine, but I won't say he's accomplished enough to be considered top ten in the arbitrary time period of the last 10 years.

That's a good list. Memories dim and Seamus hasn't created as many strong memories. I wonder if in 10 years, KO's accomplishments will be as memorable. it might be somewhat dependent on how he's used moving forward. Owens is the most fringe to me.

That said, I'd have Becky in tier 1, so I agree with your overall thesis

And of course, I can't count. I had a baker's dozen in tier 1, and even if we discount Owens, there's still a dozen above Sheamus, and several more right at his level.

And I should have added Mark Henry at least on the same tier as Sheamus, if not above. Solid guys who understand their role, got some quality wins, repeated pushes out of nowhere despite the fans knowing their history of jobbing to bugger stars, only really finding their groove at the end of their career, but injuries derailed them.

Sheamus was forever stamped as an "upper midcard, only occasional main event guy" after his loss to HHH at Mania 26 in a match that wasn't even over the title. Sheamus should have retained the title at the EC PPV before, and he should have defeated HHH at Mania. But instead, the Mania loss made his shocking win at Extreme Rules look like a fluke.

I'm very much into this whole tiers discussion.

    Here comes a thread.
