I wish Mil Muertes would go to NWA. Would be a great addition to their roster and nice surprise at their PPV tonight.

He'd be a great modern day Stan Hansen-type. Just a dude who shows up, kicks somebody's ass, has a program with somebody important, and only has competitive matches on major events. And then he just disappears when he's not needed.

Or, even better, imagine the nuclear, queer hating heat Luke Harper would get as the heavy heater for Jimmy Jacobs doing his "Zombie Princess" shit. Imagine him looking like a transgender My Chemical Romance fan in front of your average NWA crowd. Georgia would catch fire from the heat they'd get from all the rednecks that go to those tapings.

Good for Aron Stevens. He's great at what he does. He just needs to stop wearing those nude trunks.

The thought of Damien Sandow naked gives me recurring nightmares.

NWA is just so satisfying. Only parts I tend to skip passed are anything w/ Eli Drake and Anderson. Those guys bore me to tears.

I saw a photo of Aldis and Thom wearing somewhat matching outfits and Scott Steiner was with them on Facebook last night. Maybe Big Pappa Pump will be joining this new Faction.

I do think putting Aldis in as a competitor is a bad idea, but we'll see how it plays out...

Eddie Kingston is totally going to turn on the Rock N' Roll Express and we'll get a proper redux of the Rock 'N' Roll/Gangsters feud from Smokey Mountain Wrestling with Homicide and Kingston playing the killer gangster heels.

Who's the living Real Doll who's Royce Isaac's new valet?

Also, Anastacia Fletcher looks like a mannequin come to life, except her face never managed to change. She's hot, but she has all the facial expressions of something carved out of wood.

Putting Wild Card with Nick Aldis just puts their respective valets in stark contrast.

Aldis is seconded by someone who looks like a legit model. She's a statuesque woman. Royce's girl looks like a Brazzers bitch whose videos you skip because she looks like "Botched Botox Barbie".

Good show this week. Tim Storm is so lovely isn't he. The TV title tournament is fun and I'm coming round to the short time limit. Scotty Steiner turning up is fine with me. Have been trying to decide whether to stick with this or MLW Fusion moving forward. I think I'll stick with Power.

I enjoyed the Aldis/Starks match. Aldis got to generate some heat while giving Starks the rub by not "beating him" in the 6:05 time limit. Looking forward to next week's episode.

Zicky Dice is the biggest, best new prick in wrestling. The dude looks like the bastard child of Steve Corino, Tim Horner, and a tattoo gun- but the dude can go, wrestles pretty well, and even though he looks like he's trying to ape that Joey Ryan style, he doesn't do anything as stupid as flipping a guy with his wang-doodle.

And that design on his tights is hilarious. The "nose" on that airbrushed face, when his back is turned and his legs are spread a little bit, looks like a dong hanging out of his tights. If you didn't notice it before, try not noticing it now.

Dice is indeed money. He lost a ton of weight, made it back to the Bay Area wrestling scene and got snatched up real quick. Dude is a gem.

Really enjoyable bumper episode this week.

    - Shooter Stevens was on top form, loved the paralysis sell during the gauntlet - https://streamable.com/xv3oo
    - Murdoch's through, I hope he goes all the way. Dan Maff as one of the two guest entrants is wonderful news. Matt Cross less so but he should have a solid match with Starks.
    - Enjoyed Storm and Drake's promo, they should be a fun team.
    - Main event was good fun. Big Billy Corgan out on commentary with his trademark unnecessary scarf was terrific. I enjoyed him whispering in Barrett's ear before Barrett teased his old catchphrase a lot more entertaining than I'd have thought. This show just has a certain charm that others lack.
    - The PPV has been built well. The three title matches alongside Aldis/Gordon should break up the TV title tournament well.

I'm at this point with Power where I've been hoarding episodes. It's weird to say, but they're just so good I have to be in the mood, because I want to appreciate them fully. I also hate the idea of being caught up and not having another episode to look forward to. Even though they've made major missteps, I still think Billy Corgan's version of the NWA appeals to fans. What I love about the NWA is that it reminds me of Silver Age Marvel. This universe with a consolidated voice moving all of the pieces together in a cohesive way. But I like that they're taking their time telling these stories. In Season 1, it was about Storm's path to redemption, and now, it's about Morton getting another shot at the title almost 34 years after his classic with Flair at the Great American Bash. I love this product, but I wish they'd move out of the studio for the PPVs and turn it up a notch on the in-ring product for the big shows. I liked how they did their best to make the studio feel a bit different for Into The Fire, but it really isn't enough. I like Aldis. I think Kamille can be a superstar. I enjoy the commentary and like Marquez as the interviewer. There's good promos in NWA, for sure... but there's a lot of bent nails holding this thing together. It feels short term. Will NWA be around in this form one year from now? Will there be an NWA Power on YouTube next January? I like the promotion, but they need to figure out what they want to be. They have a chance to do some special things, but I think they need to move away from humor and nostalgia acts. There's a place for these things but the NWA has been doing this a bit much.

NWA feels like the poverty row of modern day wrestling. Its like a home for wayward "major" stars who don't have any other place to ply their trade.

I mean, guys like James Storm, Ken Anderson, Eli Drake, Trevor Murdoch, The Pope, Tim Storm and Nick Aldis are all good to great talents, but they've either burned bridges or never been offered a ride over the bridge in a major promotion.

And that's why I like it so much. It feels so much like a "real" alternative. Because it is. It might be WWE and the indie's garbage can, but there's something special about that.

Enjoyed Hard Times a bunch but I am looking forward to them moving to different venues for future PPVs. Watched just the Aldis/Scurll confrontation from this week's Power and it was terrific. Aldis/Scurll set for the Crockett Cup with Marty having to personally refund every fan's ticket if he loses.

Just read that going forward NWA Powerrrrrrrrrrr's new theme song is going to be "I'm Broken" by Pantera, replacing Dokken's "Into The Fire".

    Sad.

You know what they say; it ain't rockin' if it ain't Dokken.

I'm still expecting Dave Lasagna to grow a pair of balls and hire Corny back at some point.

Hopefully it'll be the result of Stu Bennett wanting to get back in the ring. He'd be a great NWA Champion if he could stay healthy long enough. He's always had the worst luck with injuries.

One nitpicky thing that's been bugging me is seeing the dead-eyed gaffers standing behind the camera operators. If it were up to me, I'd have them take a knee so we didn't have to see Joe Durp standing in the back like Hamlet's father.

What's not to buy? She's a solid manager and a good talker. She doesn't need to be a physical threat, because she's not exactly doing a lot of wrestling.

The one I don't buy is Allysin Kaye as a babyface. She should be the heel, because she's the biggest and most imposing woman they've got, with Thunder Rosa backing her up, and Marti Belle chasing her for the Women's Title.

Melina's better than Sasha Banks at doing egotistical, which is kinda sketchy...

Such a great show other than the new entrance theme.

-Shooter and Question mark are the best thing going.
-Thunder Rosa is probably the best current female world champion. Nick Aldis can have a great match with anyone.
-Eli Drake is like if the rock and stone cold had a baby
-A shame they lost Cornette but Wade is doing a great job.
-Camille is probably the hottest woman currently on tv.
-murdoch, the storms and ziggy come off as real stars.

the presentation is just so unique and like i said its a shame that for some reason they changed the music.

It's a downgrade. It just sounds like noise to me, and I don't have same level of reaction, but I'm not a fan.

Agreed. It feels like the theme would fit better for MLW. NWA should go some vaporwave-ish music or full on 70s style.

Poison's "I Want Action Tonight" would be a great NWA theme. Just that same kind of old-school, 80's rock feel. And it plays well with a compilation or a hype package based around in-ring "action".

I thought this week's episode of Power was another very solid effort from the NWA. We're now three episodes into the shows they taped at their third set of tapings in January, and it struck me that the NWA appears to have listened to the feedback of the fans.

The biggest complaint I heard after the first season of Power from the first set of tapings was that the creative was complicated. Billy Corgan had given interviews after Into The Fire and before Hard Times where he said that the NWA would be making some adjustments based on feedback, and it seems to be clear that they've listened. The matches are definitely longer, and the storylines seem very clear.

    Just saw The Circle Squared.
That dive by PJ Hawx was insane. And beautiful to watch.
It was great seeing (altar boy) Luke after all these years. His son looked great in there, like, wow. I'd love to see more of that grappling, and he seems to be a fearless flyer as well.

The Hawx Family- Luke and PJ had a great match with The Briscoe Brothers on one of Ring Of Honor's bigger shows late last year. They've got some upside.

Of course Cornette was crapping all over the dive on his show. Because, even though its cool, its still pointless and yeah, pretty damn stupid.

Actually, The Hawx have been a staple on Booker T's Reality Of Wrestling Youtube show. They've had some killer matches with ROW's big team, Fly Def (two high-flying, exciting black dudes).

    Check that out.

I prefer ridiculously daring dangerous high spots to dangerous apron bumps that seem to happen all too often these days. Like Mark Briscoe or Will Ospreay doing a springboard shooting star - it's daredevil but it doesn't remind me of Shawn Michaels' back injury every time I see it.

PJ actually looks kinda like a Briscoe in his gear and skinny frame. I remember when Altar Boy was that size. Now he reminds me of a king-size Slim J: kinda tentative, but gots a good way of keeping it together.

Thanks for telling me about those matches. I never know where to start w/ ROW.

Dave Lagana's resigned as Vice President after being accused of sexually assaulting his friend whilst she slept. All production of NWA content suspended whilst they "restructure" apparently. But things aren't looking good for this show/promotion I don't think.

Given that they haven't run a new show since the Covid-19 lockdowns, they probably don't have a ton of working capital to fall back on. They didn't even do no-audience shows, which is weird, since they're operating out of a TV studio. Its not a surprise.

Also, I've hated Dave Lasagna since he fired Cornette over a lame joke. But now, for less petty reasons, really fuck that asshole.

Good chance this impactsbheavily on a lot of promotions. If thisninspires more people to speak up I can only imagine how bad it might have been in thr 80s/90s when majoritybof wrestlers were constantly on drugs/drink/out of control.

FUCK!! Loved his feud with Aldis for the NWA title and his entire Jocephus character. Question Mark was undoubtedly the most over person at the studio after Momma Storm. Fuuuuck! Rest in Powerrrr

This is coming back with a PPV, Back for the Attack. Then Power will be back behind a paywall on Fite TV. Aldis did confirm that "Into the Fire" will be back as the theme song.

    They've announced:

Nick Aldis (c) vs. Aron Stevens
Crimson vs. Jax Dane vs. Jordan Clearwater vs. Slice Boogie
Thunder Rosa vs. Kamille (#1 Contenders Match)
    Tyrus vs. JR Kratos
Elijah Burke (c) vs. Thom Latimer
Trevor Murdoch (c) vs. Chris Adonis

Very thin roster now although the addition of Chris Masters/Adonis is cool. They're bringing in Tyrus/Brodus Clay despite the sexual harrassment allegations against him. Thom Latimer is already there with his history of physical abuse. I doubt Billy gives a fuck. Sandow getting the world title shot as a sort of tribute to Jocephus I think. Some people I couldn't give a shit about in that four way match.

Not likely I'll bother really. Especially now that they're charging. Wonder how long they'll last.

So NWA 73 and Empower are going to be at St. Louis along with a couple tv tapings as they bring back Wrestling at the Chase. I would love to go. But I can't get any fucking ticket information until they open it up on ticketmaster this afternoon. So frustrating. I only semi-follow what is going on in the NWA but I would love to go and watch one or both ppv shows since it is at the Chase but not knowing ticket prices and such is such a pain.

They did a press conference here the other day. Hoping they put on good shows when they are here.

I ended up buying me and my daughter tickets for Empowerrr. Right on the entrance way to the ring. Also only 5 rows up from the ring. Small venue. Debated a ticket for me for the next night for NWA 73 but opted not too. Don't want to spend too much money when I plan on getting a ticket for AEW Full Gear in November.

Eager for tomorrow to see some wrestling at the Chase. Not a bad card put together by Mickie James. Kind of kicking myself for not going ahead and picking up a ticket for myself for NWA 73 Sunday night. I have a feeling Murdoch walks out with the belt.

Aldis regains me thinks. I think the NWA wants Aldis/Murdoch to be their Flair/Rhodes rivalry.

Empower was a really good show in my view. Really enjoyed Knockouts title match and the NWA women's title match. I love Legit Layla Hirsch. I knew she wouldn't win but she and Kamille had a great match in my view.

Great moment with Gail Kim and Awesome Kong.

The St. Louis indie wrestler Tootie Lynn had a nice showing coming in last in the invitational and getting an elimination before being the last one out. Green gave her props in the ring after the match.

Enjoyed the tag title tournament matches. Even though they lost in the semi's I was impressed with the FreeBabes. All second generation starts and Miranda Gordy is the daughter of Terri Gordy. I was impressed with her and I think she had a WWE tryout earlier this year.

James and her helpers put together a great show and it was so fun to see Wrestling at the Chase for the first time in 37 years. I had great seats on the entrance way just 5 rows from the ring. My daughter had a great time. Maybe even more than me.

I wish I had gotten a ticket for 73 and I almost bought it on Fite. I may by the replay. I knew Murdoch was walking out with that title. The build to it with a couple matches already and the fact it was in Missouri and Trevor is a Missouri guy and had ties to Harley Race and his school I believe. Just made sense to put it on him. Not sure how long he will keep it but I think he is deserving of it.

NWA 73 was a decent little show. I really enjoyed the main event, the rest was at least passable, except the battle royal. Hated it, the finish and the guy who won.

Cardona had to give up the belt due to injury and Murdoch is now a two time champ. Interesting choice

And they are coming back to St. Louis in Aug. for two nights for the 75th anniversary. Looking forward to that. Not sure I can swing both nights or not but want to go at least one night.

So NWA 74 headed to St. Louis. Tempted to go because loved going to Empowerrr last year at the Chase. Just got a lot going on and trying to save some money.

Aldis was the contender but now it is Tryus who gets the shot at Murdoch.

NWA US tag titles coming back.

    NWA women's tv title coming.

    Two night show and fanfest.

Corgin is keeping this thing going. Props to him for that.

I quit watching last year. Got tired of Velvet Sky and Austin Idol bickering on commentary. Saw that Tyrus had won, now Billy can use that to have the World's Heavyweight Championship in real tv during the day.

Yeah he won it last night at Hard Times. I was a little surprised but not completely. They have been pushing him.

Aldis is done with the NWA and was talking shit about it so Corgan suspended him until his contract runs up shortly.

If there's one person I'm focused on in NWA, it's Clearwater. The dude has progressed so much and just gets it. Seeing him level up from generic babyface to stuck up Ric Flair heel down at Championship Wrestling From Hollywood has been awesome.

I don't really watch. I keep up somewhat with it but that is about it. I think they have some talented people working there and glad to see it is still going all these years.

Soon-to-be fifty year old Tyrus from Fox News is the champion? What a shitshow.

See, I don't follow NWA at all aside from random headlines on social media. To those that follow, is this as bad as people are making it out to be? Or are we still judging everyone on what they did in WWE? Tyrus has been gone for like 10 years and to my knowledge has just been a straight up monster type.

I guess I haven't put much stock into the NWA title since the days of Flair and Dusty Rhodes back in the 80's. And if we're judging off of WWE accomplishments it does seem like quite a few midcarders from the 2005-2010 era have held this. Rob Conway, Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Trevor Murdoch, Colt Cabana, Tyrus....The NWA title hasn't had the name value it carried in almost 30 years. Even when Dan Severn was champ, nobody knew the NWA even still existed we all thought it became WCW lol.

Again I don't follow the promotion, maybe they've been booking Tyrus in a way that this makes sense. Some of the cats posting that seem knowledgeable aren't even mentioning his win lol.

I mean, let's not forget about the long reign of Tim Storm. Especially if we're going to pull out someone's age. This guy was champ in his 50's, nobody even knows who the hell he is lol. or how about the guy he beat, Jax Dane. Big name right? Wrong lol.

Tyrus was the TV champ and I think his only loss is when he faced Trevor Murdoch for the 10 pounds of gold at NWA 74. He cashed his tv title in for another shot at the gold. So he has been booked as pretty much unbeatable. That being said still not sure what to think of it.

Yeah that's what I thought. Most people that are reading this are equating what the NWA title used to be 40 years ago with what Tyrus did 10 years ago in a totally different company. I like Brodus Clay when he was with Del Rio and on NXT. I liked him in TNA with Matt Hardy. Barely seen anything of NWA since they were on WWF tv in the late 90's but what I have followed it doesn't seem like this is terrible if you've paid attention to A-who they've had as champion since Flair and B-where the NWA stands in the pecking order of wrestling companies.

Just announced this morning that Nick Aldis is doing an indy show here in St. Louis and taking on Davey Richards in Dec. Hadn't planned on going to this show but I may end up going depending on other matches.

NWA 75 coming to St. Louis. Seems like we are the host of the anniversary show anymore. Main event of night two is for the MAGA umm I mean NWA Heavyweight Championship between Tyrus and EC3

Tryus wants to do a bullrope match and says he will retire if he loses.

    Still not really interested.

Thought about going night 1 but ended up getting tickets to Undertaker one man show the day before instead.
