Ricky Starks has really been impressing me. Dude has phenomenal promo skills, plays the heel role great and has solid ring skill. Nice to see him get a push with him feuding v Darby.

I'm surprised Lee won on TV instead of a PPV. But what's even more shocking is that it was basically a squash match. I definitely didn't think it'd pan out like that.

Passing thoughts:
- Did they explain why Tully joined FTR? Seems like a notable transaction of sorts to have go down without an explanation.
- Moxley has hit his groove with promos. I felt like several months ago they weren't giving him enough time or opportunities to rock on the mic. Glad they're letting him go now. MJF continues to deliver with his promos, as well.
- Jericho has more than earned the benefit of the doubt but the idea of more Jericho/Cassidy and this stipulation seem meh.
- The Elite/Dark Order probably would have been the match I started Dynamite with, in light of the circumstances. You've got a chance to capture uniques who got stuck on TNT after the game was over so I'd put The Elite on TV right away to try to keep them on board.
- They've got to be creative when holding The Young Bucks and FTR apart from each other in the gauntlet match. That's a money match and you don't want it wasted in a casual, not direct setting like the gauntlet match.
- Time and attention has paid off for Dark Order. Remember the last segment on Dynamite in 2019? Remember how it was a disaster? It was essentially the same type of setup for this angle and it worked much, much better.
Alvarez also brought up the point that Tully became FTR's manager without addressing the situation with Arn. Maybe they were saving it until after Cody lost the TNT title and will bring it up tomorrow.

I read the spoiler about Brodie Lee before I saw the show, but was amazed at the nature of it.
Bloody brilliant.
And they played up the fact that Cody was on every week, was beat up etc. With the post-match stuff, I'm assuming there will be a rematch at All Out.
With Cody defending the title every week, they can argue that he was emotionally and physically spent. He's been trying way too hard to keep the belt so he had nothing left for Lee. It's good logic.
I read Cody will be off TV for while. I suppose to show the beating he took from Brodie was severe.
Pretty darn good show. The shocking actions of Page, Lee suspending the TNT open challenges, and a nice brawl between Cassidy and Jericho to end the show. And that cut on Sammy's head looked nastyI especially loved how Cassidy tore ass across the stage as soon as the main event was over to go after Jericho. Really hammers home how heated this feud has become.
Dam was a pretty good show. I know Cassidy’s down his part but Jericho in any feud is just great.
Also I don’t know why but Archer vs Cage got me going.

There felt like there was a lot of talking on this episode, more than usual. Maybe a 15-minute talking segment will do that. At least it mainly served a purpose and wasn't meandering more than not (MJF was guilty of dragging things but it had its entertaining moments). The contract signing was cliche but at least the two guys in it were on top of their game with the gabbing.
I'm not really sure what to make of the stuff with Hangman and The Bucks. If I'm looking at the situation, they're playing into the Hangman from BTE who was just was an alcoholic that was trying to cope with his emotions. The Dynamite Hangman felt like a guy who could be an alcoholic that just likes to come in, drink, be a difference maker, and leave. That's what attracted people to him but this could be a zag where it's not leaning into that. If it's a long play to circle back to the Hangman people love, they're playing with fire a bit because this story has dragged for an incredibly long time. I'm just glad that the story might finally be advancing.
The Dark Order segment went through a lot of stuff in their segment. It was kind of silly at first but it got good when Lee talked. Cardona being the lead guy while Cody is out in this angle seems a bit rich.
The handicap match was elementary in a lot of ways. Not very good. Why did Penelope, the one is allegedly a wrestler, need to be the one pinned?
I did like that the tables match stipulation was altered where the finish came where the accidental going through a table didn't signal the finish of the match. Good change.
They definitely showed emotional drunk Hangman on Dynamite early on. They just leaned harder into the drunk badass. I think this whole angle is just meant to keep people guessing and make you wonder if Hangman is going to help screw Kenny over to give FTR the titles. But what will actually happen is Hangman will trust FTR more than he should, and they will specifically screw him over in some way to sort of kick him back to his senses and kick-off the path to payoff for what this whole angle has been.
Either that or a swerve where Kenny screws Hangman and goes full heel, because I'm gonna be shocked if Kenny's recent character arc doesn't end with him turning.
They'll have to be very effective with whatever they plan to work with because something they really haven't implemented yet as a storyline development are turns.
I was glad to see Cowboy Adam Page finally do sumtin besides take another sip on that iced tea of his.
although I think I could do without the black make-up around his eyes to make him look more forlorn (I guess)
Just remember AEW die hards, the next time you try to talk shit about anything the WWE is putting out there or any other promotion, look at the garbage on the upcoming ppv lol. 2 good matches on paper, the World title match and the tag-team title match. And I'm being nice about the World title match because while I am a fan of MJF, he belongs in the World title mix as much as Double J in 1995 did. But then again, it is AEW, they're talent pool isn't as big as NJPW or WWE so they have to work with what they've got.
WHAT THE FUCK is Jericho v. Orange Cassidy? Probably the dumbest fucking gimmick match I've heard of in the 21st century and I've heard and seen some pretty pathetic gimmick matches. Loser gets dumped in a tub of Sex and the City drinks? The Demo God looking for that female 38-68 demo?
Is the only thing you find garbage that match? Because I think the card look perfectly fine. Maybe not a huge wow factor, but it's a solid group of matches. And honestly, I think MJF is main event ready enough to pull the trigger if that's what they're thinking here. I agree the Mimosa Mayhem gimmick is kind of silly for a feud-ender, but I'm down for one more Y2JOC match since the last two have been solid. And if Jericho gets dumped, you know he's going to sell the fuck out of that.
Only match that really looks meh to me is the Dark Order vs. Cody's Friends match.

The rest of the show looks mediocre, the OC v. Jericho gimmick is fucking stupid. I like both wrestlers, I liked their matches, I can't get into this bullshit but hey, it's wrestling in 2020. There used to be a time where this level of cornball was mainly for Divas like Torrie Wilson and some stupid shit in PWG or CHIKARA.
The women's match is going to live up to all the other women's title matches and suck. They haven't given me a single women's match in general that didn't completely fucking suck. Not a fan of the cluster fuck battle royal or the 8-man jobber tag-team match.
So again, on paper, this card looks fucking whack. I'm quite possibly a borderline AEW diehard, the only difference is I don't pretend like AEW doesn't do the same if not worse dumbass shit than the WWE and other promotions.

He "booked himself" but Tony Kahn has the final say on everything. The bucks talked about how they wanted to lose matches and Tony told them no. In addition to being executives they're also the biggest stars in the company so they can't really win (in the sense of making people happy). If they were jobbing or midcarders everyone would say why are you booking yourselves that way. The tag division is long term booking it will mean even more when FTR wins the belts now.

I think for me the only match I have my doubts around is Mox/MJF, but that's more because I haven't really enjoyed MJF's matches as much as I have others on this brand. It's interesting that Moxley has faced some real giants as of late like Brian Cage and Brodie Lee and fended them all off... but this instead appears to be his biggest threat. I've felt that they were more credible and had more of a main event feel to them.
But this company constantly does things that don't initially make sense to me and I end up loving most of it anyway.
The one thing I feel like AEW really needs to work on is making it super obvious when a spot is coming up. Don't show the people on the ground obviously waiting to catch someone. It was super noticable when they had the 8 man tag a few weeks back. Even JRs rambling couldn't distract me from it.

Tbh I think the pandemic has fucked up some of the booking. I'm not sure Lee was meant to be the exhaulted one but with no crowds and especially as the first show without was Lee's debut, which was meant to be his hometown it just made a sensical way of bringing him in and making some headlines.
Dont think Dark Order will last much longer once the crowds are fully back. Theyve been able to work through simply because the new Jobsquad hasnt been jeered out the building. Thats bout to change and Lee can head off on his own and we'll see what hes got.
Dont mind Codys booking he should be in the title picturex hes usually in the best matches and is one of the most over on the card, they are just trying to build a redemption arc for him thatll be long term. Now theyve established the TNT title and took it off him hell be back in the picture soon.
As for Omega/Page. I think it was meant to lead to a heel turn for one of them, they had really built it up and Page was getting over but then he was off for months and its sort of been on the backburner. Im expecting Omega to turn on Page since Page is more over and everyone expects Page to turn, I can see it at this PPV to get the belts on FTR.
Page v Omega after and have the Bucks turn heel there. Let Page continue his antihero role and theyve got most people in the right spots at that point.
I'm not a fan of Adam Page. I can watch him if he's in a match but I could not care less about him. I understand he has a fanbase though and I respect that so I definitely agree with what you're saying. My only issue is they could have done a breakup storyline without needing them as the champs. Well yeah, I can get that. I wasnt really a fan of them winning the titles at the time but I havent minded their reign for what it was, I thought theor match with the Bucks was excellent and theyve had a couple of decent matches with SCU, Chuck and Trent and Lucha Bros.
I was happy enough for them to keep it through the point till crowds returned as itll be better seeing the team that takes it from them get a pop at least.
Even with the partial crowd they had this week the atmosphere was so much better so hopefully things ramp up from here.

I have to disagree about your opinion of Omega as it pertains to him not being over at all. That hot feud with Moxley was awesome but then what did they do? Put the fucking tag straps on him and Page. Back then I thought, oh this is short term, they're using this as a way to split Page and Omega. Typical booking, it works more often than not so I got it. Especially with them having Page v. Jericho for some odd reason for the title.
Within a few months the Kenny Omega that set the world on fire, where the fans over here did nothing but jerk off to his matches.....They didn't want to see him in a tag-team with Adam Page, or with anyone, especially this long. Thunder Rosa/Serena was pretty good. JR was kind of shitting on the women's division during it.
They should really hire Serena to at least train some of the greener women. She was a trainer at NXT before so we know she can do it.
Censor guy also missed Mox telling MJF "go fucking nuts" after his bladejob.
I really want MJF to win at All Out. I don't care if it's clean, he's a heel and an amazing one, but I want him to win.

Just watching the last few mins of Dynamite and I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve been slack af and not watched the last couple but to me AEW has reached a point where they’ve got way too much of a roster and struggling to fit everyone on.
I too hope MJF wins because yeah, the lack of a live crowd is killing the promotion right now and the casino battle royal segment really stood out to me that 1 Eddie Kingston was a pointless signing 2 Commentators were to me bored af throughout. 3. Storyline development is weak.
I really hope they can turn it around though as I used to look forward to Dynamite.

I’m excited for the ppv because I know it’ll be good but AEW still hasn’t gotten the hang of having a hot go home show that gets you hype for the ppv. This show wasn’t bad but I just don’t think they added any sense or excitement for any of the matches
Another good episode, good build ups for the ppv which I’m looking forward too.

They really haven't locked in on this, yes. Case in point: go home episode, and we're starting with a tag match for two teams that aren't collectively building to something for the PPV.
Just a few other things that echoed that sentiment:
- Hardy's career is on the line Saturday and I feel like it hasn't been that emphatic of the implications. It's improved compared to the scenario with Dustin Rhodes randomly putting his career on the line for a tournament match but it's not that much better.
- A stipulation for a preshow match was made and we still don't know what the rules are. Okay.
I have to imagine the pandemic has outright ravaged their plans for the timeline with Omega and Hangman. I feel like we've really hit the moment that something significant needs to happen.
Bad sign for two women not in AEW having one of the best matches for the division since the company started.
That was a good beatdown by MJF at the end. I think we've reached a point where a title shift isn't unwelcome.

By the way I dig the Major Wrestling Podcast he, Myers & Cardona all do.
I mean that's what they get for just hiring their friends and not the ones that can actually work. You watch Penelope drop Big Swole on her head enough times you just learn to accept it, but when you see how it's really done... then it puts things into perspective. Serena could be a great trainer for them, and Thunder could be a huge name to build around for a long time.
If the World goes from Chris fucking Jericho to Jon Mothefuckin Moxley to MJF.....Wow.
And people bitch about the idea of OTIS being a WWE world champion. I'm a big fan of MJF, but the TNT title is where it's at for him. I said this several times but we're basically putting the World title on a Jeff Jarrett type. Brilliant as a midcarder but it doesn't transcend to the main event, especially if we're pretending AEW is truly the 2nd biggest promotion in the world.
I will say this....It could be worse. It could've been Brian Cage or Luke Harper.
I think this is a matter of different opinions, because I know people who hate Mox and think MJF would be a better champion
I think it's more exciting to pull the trigger and take a chance anyway.
I know I wouldn't be upset if they did the same with Otis.
AEW is better off w/ someone like MJF as their top champ. Mox is cool, but his hardcore matches don't really come off as their top bill. More like a midcard attraction.
Which is funny to me because saying MJF would make a better champion means he has some kind of track record in that position in comparison to Moxley. We all know Mox is a proven draw and has been for many, many years.
I'll say this...I wouldn't be shocked one bit if MJF won. I've said that from the jump. I just think we're 3-4 years too early and the gimmick doesn't scream long term main eventer. He's not very good in the ring either so that's another issue. He barely wrestles and the people he does wrestle don't make him look good. IDK if Moxley can make people look good, especially someone half his size that can't really work.
I don't even think it's the hardcore matches, I think it's the fact that despite being World champion, he's not featured as such. You know who is? The Elite and Chris Jericho. Not really hard to figure out why. When Mox was feuding with Jericho, nobody questioned where that feud was at on the card.
It's hard to say what AEW is better off with considering they're what, a year in? They've had 2 champions that were polar opposites. I guess if you enjoyed the goofy title run of Jericho, then MJF is the right fit.

He won’t win yet, probably is a bit soon. But you can’t say he doesn’t deserve a program at the top with the Champ. He’ll soon be back down challenging and winning the TNT title.
Disagree sorry. Don’t get how right now people think MJF would be better as champion? Moxley is a household name people love to get behind him, he’s been fine as the main guy. Let him have it until later in the year.
They both belong in the midcard is what I'm saying. I can't compare the 2 side by side because they're totally different midcarders. One is a super babyface, a good worker, looks unique, has a hottie. The other is a super heel, subpar worker, good on the mic, looks like a dumb fuck so that helps his heel heat.
I didn't say he doesn't deserve a top program, I'm saying he doesn't deserve the strap. AEW are new enough to where they can get away with stuff as they find their place. So they're trying to see what works and it doesn't help when actual fans aren't there but let's be real, when we go watch AEW for some reason everything we hate turns into everything we love simply for being "AEW". That'll wear off. Look how stupid people are about Luke Harper. Like the guy never had a main event program or held midcard titles lol.
MJF=perfect for the TNT title. He's not the guy to carry the company but he's definitely someone you want on the roster.
All good, and true words about Mox being a huge name now. Personally, I think MJF would be better as an upcoming top guy rather than keeping it on Mox who has been doing mostly hardcore matches which tend to get old pretty fast.
