The easiest one to distinguish appears to be Nightmare Collective because it feels like it's solely a women's division act.
They do seem to be going overboard with this kind of gimmick. Brian Alvarez made a good point in that, if they're going to have multiple cult-like groups, don't put them all on the same show. Spreading them out would at least make the similarities less apparent.

If i were to quit watching AEW it would be because every single match ends after the opponent kicking out of AT LEAST 2 finishers. The third might keep someone down, if it's off the top rope or onto a chair.

Parity is not good for a new company. They need KILLERS. Omega, Moxley, Jericho, Cody, PAC, Hangman should all be virtually untouchable. These guys are not WWE guys, they are WWE CANT HAVES.

Kenny should come in and decimate, he's a former IWGP Champion. We should all be asked ourselves "why have I never seen this guy, he is THE BEST'' but he's just another dude.

I mean, Moxley and Jericho have been pretty untouchable. Hangman needs time to grow before he can be on that level. PAC has eaten like, what, one loss? Omega is clearly in the middle of a story concerning him not able to seal the deal when it matters. And Cody is constantly involved in the most story-heavy angles that cater to him not having the best W/L record. I don't think they've really miscued on any of these guys. I think Omega not feeling like a great star has more to do with his delivery than any kind of booking issues.

Also, pretty sure Mox, Jericho and PAC have mostly not had their finished kicked out of. Hell, Omega, too. But I agree the rest of the roster could use a bit of taming in that department.

Jericho is Hollywood Hulk Hogan and Moxley is basically Diamond Dallas Page or Sting.

    Everything old is new again.

Big Swole (stupid name, by the way) was in a women's division tag-team match on AEW Dark. She wrestles with all the grace and dexterity of a drowning swimmer.

The Butcher, The Blade, The Baker, and the Candlestick Maker out tonight.

Okay, that thing with the apple that Cody and QT just did was pretty neat. Too bad QT's jobbing.

Good stuff. That was maybe more competitive than it should have been, but QT looked great in that match.

Its kind of annoying that nobody wants to admit that The Butcher was already pretty famous before he was a wrestler. They ignore kayfabe in everything else except for the thing that could help get The Butcher and The Blade over a little faster.

Cody Rhodes did this exact same angle in Ring of Honor, with a diamond ring gimmick and making people "kiss the ring".

I'm offended at AEW making fun of people with lisps, and saying HONKY when that is just as bad as the N-Word to some people.

OFFENDED. something must be done. This is way worse than that Scooter Hate Speech

Big Swole (who sucks) vs. Margaret Cho dressed like Freddie Mercury.

I think everyone on the commentary team had a series of small strokes before this segment went on the air.

I don't care what she looks like, she can have really good matches.

But that Sakura vs Swole match was easily the Longest Worst Match of the Year.

    Pure torture

Holy shit, that announcer billboarding segment was some of the most confused, graphics guys can't get on the same page as the booth bullshit I've ever seen from a "major" company, not called "WCW".

    Amazing.

I actually prefer it to WWE's hyper-produced overly-scripted bullshit product-placement pandering to simpletons. Nothing feels organic in WWE..and AEW captures that and I, personally, like it

Bucks/Not-LAX was damn fun stuff. Maybe a few too many casual table bumps, but that was fun. The four-way, no-rules approach plays pretty well into The Bucks' style. The only thing that isn't going to hurt on those four guy's bodies tomorrow morning are their pajamas.

Some pretty good stuff sprinkled all across in the show.

I'm glad the lack of the women's champion was addressed at least. How long has Riho been gone for, at least a month? I'm confused as hell as they're promoting the fourth and fifth-ranked women are competing next week with the winner becoming the No. 1 contender.

Omega really felt like he was on a different level in the tag match. He definitely came across as a big deal. I like the tension being built between Omega and Hangman.

That main event went through more tables than WWE will all of Sunday, I imagine.

wow, that spudz comedy show in here is woeful.

decent show, nothing amazing. jericho on commentary was great. luchasaurus will be getting a title shot by the end of 2020. the slow build for the omega/hangman feud is nice, as well.

kinda hope that jungle boy doesn't go the full 10 minutes next week.

Doesn’t sound like it’s going very swimmingly at all. On what should just a great platform for them. Balls.

Also, what the fuck are they doing with the editing? This week, they came back from commercial in the main event and the voice over is Jericho saying ‘Welcome back to Dynamite’, problem being, he was commentating on the match before the main event and not the main event itself.

Piss poor. The little added voiceovers are pointless to begin with!

ITV are utterly hopeless with sport. I mean they nearly destroyed the premier league within a year od getting them and could have bankrupted themselves.

They got an agreement for Premier Boxing Championship at the beginning of the year and that was over by July, they also messed up the World Boxing Super Series thebyear prior and lost that.

I mean they had the rights to show the fights of Deontay Wilder, Errol, Spence, Manny Pacquiao, Keith Thurman, Caleb Plant, David Benevidez, Chris Eubank Jnr, Charlo Brothers, Mikey Garcia and more and put on about four shows before they cocked it up and lost it to Sky/BT.

ITV are totally useless. AEW should try and court Sky as theyve lost WWE to BT and they might be willing to take them as it would fill a gap and at the same time Id guess would be a lot cheaper than WWE. Sort of works for both parties.

Went to Dynamite in Dallas (well, Garland) and had a blast. Moxley is massively over, and people went apeshit for Orange Cassidy. Just a fun experience all around. I gotta say, though, it's odd that Corpus fucking Christi is getting what looks like a better card on paper. I'm going to assume that they tried to book a venue in Houston and just weren't able to.

    Two guys are beating up one guy;

    “It’s almost two-on-one!” - Tony Schiavone.

That’s the kind of incisive commentary I watch AEW for.

Good finish. They’re really selling that Buckshot Lariat as a killer move.

I’m not a big muscle head/workout guy by any means, but if you’re trying to hype an athlete in a promo package, maybe they should show him lifting those heavy weights over his head?

Hell, just gimmick them and have him lift even more.

Jericho just made that kid tonight.

Everybody sees Luchasauraus as the "can't miss" prospect from this trio, but Jungle Boy is a certified big damn deal right now.

I'd expect to see him get a real title shot pretty damn soon.

Brandi Rhodes has a barely-mobile Awesome Kong and a random mark who apparently decided to uproot herself from whatever her previous life was to follow her across the country and try to cut other women's hair off.

That's a "collective" in definition. Not exactly a "nightmare", considering how Awesome Kong has barely won and/or wrestled and the random mark isn't even being presented as an actual wrestler.

I really like The Dark Order angle they had been building over the last few weeks with the recruitment videos, invading the production of the shows, and teasing certain people joining up. I also think this was generally a good "redebut", but it came to soon. I think they should have let this build for another month before they brought The Dark Order back in the arena.

Otherwise, a really badass episode with a lot of intrigue throughout.

Ending AEW this week with a mass Dark Order attack, where two former job guys, two actual job guys, and a bunch of assholes not even good enough to get names where they beat down every over babyface in the company not named Adam Page, Darby Allin, John Moxley, or Joey Janella is like ending a five star steak dinner by having your waiter hit you in the face with a claw hammer and shit on your empty plate while you're unconscious.

The Dark Order look like guys that Mox would dispatch in maybe a minute.

Saw the end of both NXT and AEW. If comparing the two, AEW felt like a wet fart. That said, I've liked the progress made with the Dark Order segments of late. I didn't know shit about them, having seen none of their pre-dynamite PPVs, so the segments helped. A couple weeks off gives them time to build on it.

It feels like a tricky, possibly no-win situation with the picture in picture route that AEW is taking. They obviously want to keep people tuned in but it almost looks like they're going aggressive with it by showing stuff you definitely want to see but then you're like, "I don't want to see it on a small screen."

Good booking with Jungle Boy and Statlander.

So many entities wanting others to join. It's all the rage.

The Dark Order is...there. Clearly weren't making any headway prior to this soft reboot. The production and storytelling in their vignettes as of late were nice but it just felt flat when they were out there again. The Elite is definitely not looking elite, either.

Strong show, but a few odd choices. Not sure why B&B couldn't lose by DQ instead of getting pinned clean by Cody. Feels way too soon for them be taking a loss. This Nightmare Collective needs to take shape soon or it just comes across as a vanity project for Brandi. Odd way to end the show as well. I agree that the Dark Order needed some more time to develop before re-debuting.

I like what Statlander is doing but the idea of a championship match feels overshadowed by the fact Brandi is trying to recruit Statlander. The booking for Statlander herself is good, but the booking for the program is muddy, at best. Baker feels like she's suffering from what Prichard likes to describe as "and then the bell rang" syndrome. She needs more time and a more work.

Watched the beatdown at the end, and I can't fathom why they're still pushing Dark Order so hard. This is a comedy film.

It's a cool idea with the wrong people. I assume they thought they could salvage it with some hype promos, which they probably could have. But I don't think centering the whole thing around the Super Smash Bros will do it much justice.

I'm holding out for a higher power being revealed that's much more compelling. Adam Page joining would be cool, but probably not as THE star.

I thought Statlander moved really slow in the ring last night. She was half a step slower than Baker which I thought hurt the match. Like you said, it's most likely is a case of her not being ready yet.

I'm holding out for a higher power being revealed that's much more compelling. Adam Page joining would be cool, but probably not as THE star.
There you go. They need someone with star power who comes across as an actual leader to make this group legit.

I can definitely see that. I think they both need time to develop but I think Statlander is going to get over with the audience much quicker. Baker doesn't come across like a face, either.

There's a sense of self-inflicting wounds with Dark Order. It's being advertised to quote-unquote losers. So if it's a group of losers or nobodies, they're just leveling up as a gang? That doesn't make them that interesting and it doesn't make the people they're beating up that good either. The idea of a higher power is interesting but I imagine it's more of the same until that is revealed. If that's the case, it may be too late and not salvageable.

I will say, I doubt anyone would have said the closing segment of Dynamite for 2019 when it started was going to say Dark Order.

show was pretty strong until the end. sad, because the soft reboot of dark order was pretty sweet until this.

women's title match obviously going to include some interference from the nightmare collective. (WHO IS THE BALD GUY?)

sad to see kong out there, she has seemed like a shell of herself since her time in the wwe.

jr was pretty damn awful this week. which is saying something.

hopefully chris daniels goes to 'find himself' and stops his waddling to the ring.

everything was more entertaining than the wednesday night cringefest by spudz here, though

Has she done much since her WWE days? I think she may have returned to TNA at some point, and was on GLOW.

Jesus Pete, I checked the Sky ITV Hub earlier and the cunting show isn’t up from last week.

I’ve been watching the Austin Broken Skull session with GOLDBERG. Really enjoyed it.

Might be easier for you guys to come live with me, you can watch AEW live on TNT every Wednesday, no delays, no hassle. Just ask that you give me $100 a month in boarding fees.

Now, I won't be watching with you cause I'll be in another room watching NXT.

we should be seeing Japan style matches between Kenny Omega and Pentagon.

we should be seeing good, thought out tag team wrestling, and it should be the Young Bucks as the champions, beating everyone.

we should be seeing Hangman Adam Page being a world beater, on the streak of his life, but Title Shots have eluded him because (to borrow a sports analogy) he has PAC and Moxley "in his division"

But instead we have The Dork Order (thanks Cornette), the fucking Alien, Two Librarians, Brandi drinking too much red wine and forgetting this is on TV, Big Swole being anywhere near the ring, and Joey Janela.

    It's disappointing!

There are some good things. I like Shawn Spears w/ Tully Blanchard and think it's a good heel act. I like Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus. The Inner Circle is great. Cody is usually the best part of the show and pre-AEW I just didn't "get" Cody.

Schiavone and JR are fantastic at being entertaining. Awesome Kong should either be the champion or be feuding with the champion. Kong vs Nyla needs to happen before they ruin Kong's presence.

Fenix needs more love. Can't wait for the inevitable match vs. PAC...

Lot's of potential, they need to be more sports based. Think early TNA on FSN1. With the names and the time remaining on the screen. Information ticker across the bottom.

    They need to be different.

Yeah, but that style would wear off, quickly. Especially here in the US.

The Bucks are not a top draw in the US. They think they are, but they're not.

What's wrong w/ Big Swole?

Spears has been beyond boring as a jobber to the stars.

Jungle Boy is going to be a star and so is Luchasaurus, hopefully Stunt gets the boot soon.

Cody's involved in most of the best parts because he knows he shouldn't take part in the goofy video game stuff, the cult schlock, or anything w/ the Bucks. His wife though... she's the luckiest block of wood on the goddamn planet.

Cornette makes a good point about the staging of the Dark Order's run in. I knew it looked weird at the time, but couldn't put my finger on it. Jim's right about how you need to send in a few guys so the Faces can destroy them before they get overwhelmed. That's exactly how you'd see it done in WWE. A recent example is during this year's pre-Survivor Series invasion of RAW. Orton was in the ring when team Smackdown came calling. He hit two RKO's before the numbers game became too much. Visually, it comes across so much better than what AEW did.
