I'm kind of addicted to watching video game documentaries and reviews of classic games. New ones as well. And I thought it would be fun to share some of these with each other as there are so fucking many out there. So if you watch a cool one post it here or share a link.

It'll give me something to do late at night when I feel the need to know everything about Super Ghouls and Ghosts or whatever. Otherwise I'll just post my favorites.

Anyway I just watched a fabulous one from Gaming Historian.

The Story of Punch-Out. It really gets in depth with the development of the first arcade machine and all the weird spinoffs and unlicensed shit. I had no idea the story of Punch Out would actually be a good story but it really is.

And the whole project gets off the ground...because of a warehouse surplus of monitors...

This one is from Liam Triforce and its fucking sick. This is the ultimate Tony Hawk Pro Skater doc. And it touches on every single aspect of the early games that worked so well and slowly breaks down the demise of the franchise. Fucking great. If you loved THPS games you gotta watch this one.

So, this content is basically my favorite thing to watch. I watched this one the other and then binged this whole channel. Nick Robinson goes on the hunt for one of the rarest Nintendo DS games of all time: a McDonald’s Japan training game.



In one of his other videos he works on recovering an old Dominos Japan iPhone app, he goes on the hunt for an announcer from Super Monkey Ball, and digs into the Nintendo character with no search results. He really covers some of the most obscured stuff possible.

After they did fucking nothing for a year I chose not to renew my subscription. You can only blame the pandemic for so long when you work from home.

Dan Ryckert leaving was the beginning of the end. I was glad when Abby left and indifferent when Ben left.

Dan Ryckert's new podcast with Matt Mahardy and Mary Kish is good. I just wish it was weekly and not bi-weekly. I listen to the H. A. M. Radio Podcast and Mega64 podcast for my gaming/comedy needs now.
