Commando is excellent and would have been even better if the head of Fox had approved Arnie's idea of beating a man to death with his own severed arm.

I don't think I ever saw Commando. I can't watch everything but that is something that I'm surprised I missed. Same thing with Mad Max: Fury Road. I actually have Max on DVD just never watched it. I'll buy flicks and sit on them for rainy days. This is literally still in the plastic upstairs.
I really enjoyed this thread. I wouldn't mind seeing others like best comedy, best bad guy and, even though it's not movie related, maybe a best NES or Super NES game list.
I think we did a thread for best Nintendo games but I dont know if it was like a top 10 or top 900 lol
Definitely think that Romford came through like a champ.
I really like that movie. But I didn't think of it as a favourite action movie.
Come to think of it I don't know what genre would have to be mentioned for The Warriors to pop up.

Generic category would be action. The wiki page for the movie simply says it's an "American action film". There's more action in it that Heat and that made the top 10 here.

That made my top 20, but I consider it more of a drama, despite the action sequences at times.
From memory I don't think it actually did too well. John Wick and Mad Max Fury Road were close if I recall.

Out of all those movies the one that stands out like a motherfucker is THE LEGO MOVIE. And that 3 people voted for it! They Live got 1 vote, but Lego Movie got 3 lol.
I love how Skyfall falls in the list 3 times. If you combine them, it may not be enough to crack the top 10 but surely in top 15.

The Raid actually made it Top 10. It should have 29 points tying it with Heat and Speed.
The Raid and The Raid: Redemption are the same movie just different names because of rights in the US.
Sadly that bumps out Kill Bill from the Top 10.
Sorry I didn't realise about the Raid PD. Have never seen it and so thought they were different films

I don't know why, but I never thought of Bond films as action, but could see why others would.
Well unless you already knew that tidbit it's not something any sane person would expect. I mean even the name The Raid: Redemption sounds like a sequel.
I had specifically looked for it in your posting because I had wondered how close it had came and when ctrl+f searching I saw both of them (plus Raid 2) and realized what happened.
Would combing The Raid/Raid:Redemption and the 2 separate listings for Raid 2 get them into the top 10?
Not complaining, just curious. This is a solid list, lots of good choices I missed, some like Edge of Tomorrow.... fun movie, really damn good rewatch value... but I had it a ways down my list closer to 20-25. Lots of good ideas off this list to go back and watch movies.

Since there were 10 points for the first ranked, 9 points for second, etc., it is possible that only one person had it on their list, and ranked it 8th. Or, it could have appeared on 2 people's lists, but ranked 10th and 9th on those lists.
Perhaps Rom can also provide how many lists each film nominated appeared on.
While I wouldn't classify it as an action film, the message of it is proven - EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!
Ah ok. I was thinking it meant it was on 3 people's list but then when you look @ Die Hard and it has 149, I can't imagine 149 lists were provided especially when we can barely get 49 people to post about 1 topic let alone 149 lol.
Raid 2 wouldn't have gotten into top 10, would only have 20 total points putting it around 17th/18th but The Raid would have come in a tie for 8th. Skyfall would also have not made top 10. But would be about 15.
Skyfall was on my list. It's the best Bond film and Bond created the action movie, so there should be at least one.
