    Any update on this?

The fixtures for four of the next six gameweeks are a bit weird (either lacking Scottish games or includes FA Cup or FA Trophy where teams have already been eliminated) and when you add likely postponements on top of that, the extra squad place would definitely help.

Andy currently has a team of one for the NYD fixture.

I'm not sure. We said at the beginning of the season that we'd do squads of seven and part of me thinks we should go with that and if your squad can't handle it then you're shit fault for having shit players.

But I also see the other side where an extra player is likely to make a difference when it comes to postponements. I'll have a think about it today whilst working and come up with something later today.

Can you also just let us the days those weeks run aswell BBF? Obviously the weeks will be coming thick and fast until normality strikes again in the New Year :-)

Scottish players have always had this issue to be fair. You know what you’re getting, particularly with the SPL break.

I say this with our best player in said group.

I think I'm willing to go ahead and not add the 8th player. If you've loaded up on Scottish players you knew this point was coming, if you've loaded up on the lower leagues then you always run the risk of postponements.

I think it's better to keep things as previously agreed than change things. I'd rather reward those who have planned than those who havent.

RFF doesn't need an overlord, it should be run by consensus.

I'd like to think I've been ok in general. It's tough with stuff like this as I'll get moans from both sides.

My phrasing my horrible there to be fair but blimey I didnt know you had it in you

Awful behaviour on my part, shameful really. Sorry again. Any further outbursts like that and I'll be offering my resignation.

The game largely runs itself now but for things like schedule, squad size etc. if you put any issues to a vote then no-one can complain.

I reckon nobody has actually planned for it. Things just fall into place throughout the season.

I'm going to be fucked obviously.

Also the whole argument came about because the schedule changed three weeks ago - difficult to plan ahead for that.

It's fine for BBF he just picks a new squad every week anyway

We shouldn't change things now but there will be a lot of games over the next few weeks where it's 4v4 or 4v3, which isn't ideal and was easily avoidable by just reverting back to the normal squad size of previous years. I still don't know why it was changed. Where was the consultation process?? Let's be more Norway and less North Korea.

    My Christmas is ruined.

BBF, could we get some indication of cutoffs for when we can drop players we've signed between these gameweeks please? Is it 2359 at the conclusion of the gameweek?

Thank you. I think it would be helpful to know which fixtures fall where as for example City play Wolves on 27th which should be in the boxing day fixtures but from the above it might not be. They play again 2 days later which should count to gameweek 20.

    I would suggest week 19 ends 27th December 2359.

Just Boxing Day and New Years Day are the extra game week. Normal gameweek for week 20 and week 21 ie Friday to Monday

We do this nonsense every single year. There's zero reason not to include the 27th in gameweek 19. Get the players on the pitch and let them play.

They are on the pitch and playing. They are playing in the normal Friday to Monday game week in week 20.

Why? Those players have a game on Sunday. Just include the Friday in gameweek 19 to maximise the options.

There are two fixtures on the 27th. Two teams in which would then be able to have another game in the next gameweek, which starts on the 28th.

Logic suggests that they should be therefore included in gameweek 19.

Every year we argue this same ridiculous thing. We put too much time into this game to be adding stupid rules that limit the opportunities to sign players.

It's aimed at BBF but we've always been this maddeningly reductive.

Because a game week is always Friday to Monday. The added gameweeks are on boxing day and new years day and have been since we had the new schedule.

Hang on let me check what are the only two valid games on Friday....

That's not even the argument mate. You can say I'm arguing it to get Shankland included in gameweek 19 but it's irrelevant because he plays once over 19/20 so whichever it counts in is fine.

Your position means that Man City v Wolves and Liverpool v Wolves are in the same gameweek so Liverpool players count against Wolves but Wolves players won't count against Liverpool.

I've always been consistent on this. We put far far too much time in to have rules that needlessly restrict those involved.

Bbf happily fucks around with the fixtures to fit games in, including a gameweek of a single day.

Then when he is up against the best player in the game he suddenly says BUT FRIDAY TO MONDAY IS ALWAYS THE RULE despite this making fewer games actually be valid.

    1) I'm not trying to change a gameweek that been in place since 27th November to avoid playing against a player. I'm leaving things as they have been since the 27th November the same as I did with the 7 players/8 players argument.

    2) I didnt come up with this schedule. UK Blue came up with the schedule, you commended him, queried whether we could change week 36 for new years day so there was more availability in the title run in. You didnt mention boxing day, you didnt mention Friday 27th until now.

It's not changing. Any schedule issues shouldve been raised at the time, like the week 36/NYD issue. Not 5 days before the fixture because you want them to.

Let’s just look at the facts here

There are just two games on the 27th Dec, 24hours after all the Boxing Day fixtures (Gameweek 19) and 24 hours before the 28th Dec fixtures (Gameweek 20)..

    These are:

    Wolves vs Man City
    Dundee United vs Dundee

Then on the 29th there are these games in the middle of Gameweek 20:

    Man City vs Sheff Utd
    Liverpool vs Wolves

Under what BBF is suggesting, this would mean that all Man City players and all Wolves players would have no game on Gameweek 19, despite there being two fixtures just sitting there which would easily rectify this...

Interested to hear what players who own players at those clubs think of this eg no Jimenez for @Gary J no Jesus for @Peter Griffin no Aguero for @Simon no Sterling for @Mik when this is quite obviously and easily fixed.

Seems like it’s less about BBF not changing the rules to keep a player out and more about you wanting him to change the rules to get a player in.

Well this is a messy one.

The main problem here is that the City Wolves game technically falls into the boxing day games in real life whereas the Dundee Derby falls into the weekend fixtures but they are both on the same day at the same time.

Usually you would not have just one day (Boxing day) for fixtures, especially with the lack of fixtures on that day this year.

Realistically with it only being two games I would have just let those affected choose when their players play, then again I probably would have just tried to avoid it completely by not having the boxing day fixture and put it into one long week so everyone gets a full team.

Shankland has one game over the two gameweeks anyway. We wouldn’t be losing his goals.

You would, however, be losing Sterling.

I would generally agree with this but not 4 days before the gameweek starts when the highest scorer in the game is one of the main players in question and, I'd argue, the only reason it's been brought up.

As I said at the beginning I defer to you on any decisions so if you want to change things then do obviously but I'm against changing things to suit one team that so hugely benefit when things have been clear for weeks.

Bbf - I wouldn’t lose Shankland’s goals here as he doesn’t have a game the next gameweek unlike Man City and Wolves. Why would you be so arrogant to think I’d want him to play against you over ex-RFF Championship winner @Andy the next gameweek?

    Nice deflection though

Reasons to play the games on the 27th as Gameweek 19

    i) More players available for Gameweek 19 for five RFF managers
ii) MMH says it's obvious that they should
    iii) common sense

Reasons not to play the games on the 27th

    i) BBF doesn't want to face a team with Shankland in it
ii) ermmmmm Friday - Monday like every other single week (lol)?????1111
    iii) BBF fears Shankland

Wolves vs Man City was a Boxing Day fixture moved a day later for TV coverage. Dundee Utd vs Dundee was a weekend fixture moved a day earlier for TV coverage.

    Apply logic, get answer.

We don't benefit from it. Shankland either plays in one week or the other. You're actively stopping players playing in fear of you playing Shankland.

I've said what's happening. If MMH comes and overrules it, not says what he wouldve done (which included not playing on the boxing day at all, a part which has been skimmed over) then we go with what he said. Previously I've been told that I should be strong, make a decision and stick with it. That's what I'm doing here.

The Friday fixtures are included in gameweek 20 NOT gameweek 19 unless MMH explicitly deems otherwise. We can say that's over me being 'scared'of facing one player from a very talented squad if we need to.

That's the ruling though, I'm checking out until Boxing Day. Have a lovely Christmas everyone.
