Looks like a solid show. It's a shame the Evolve show is the same day. I think I'll watch Evolve live and AEW later.

Once again, I’ll be ordering this. Card looks a touch better than Fyter Fest to me.

I'll watch again. The shows so far have been decent.

Minus the stupid video game crap and other awful humor.

Yeah, some dreadful stuff on the pre-shows so far. Hopefully that'll improve with time.

I always think of B/R as bathroom, which is fitting for this show.

The top 3 matches will be fire. Is Brandi Rhodes a good wrestler? I know I saw something on Impact awhile ago but I'm not sure she did anything other than a Carmella style super kick. She's wrestling, imo, one of the best female wrestlers in North America.

Here’s my predictions, or rather, how I’d book the show (including match order):

    (PRE-SHOW “A”) Baker & Riho over Bea & Nakajima. [10 minutes]

(PRE-SHOW “B”) Sonny over Avalon. (Lena tried to interfere but to no avail) [5:00]

Chris Jericho kicks off the show and announces he will be the Guest Commentator for tonight.

    (1) Janela’s team wins the 6-Man Tag after Spears & MJF brawl to the back and abandon their partner mid-match. [5:00]

    (2) Allie pins Brandie with a small package. They shake hands after the match. [5:00]

    (3) Dark Order wins the Triple Threat Tag. [15:00]

    (4) Hangman Page pins Kip Sabian. [10:00] Jericho brutalizes Page after the match. (No more Jericho on commentary)

    (5) Lucha Bros over SCU. (Daniels gets barred from ringside mid-match.) [15:00]

    (6) Kenny Omega pins Cima. [15:00]

    (7) Young Bucks over Rhodes Bros. [15:00] Cody and Dustin argue after the match (but don’t physically fight each other.)

FITE Tv has been terrible. Managed to watch the opener. Was ok. Now got a fault message on the screen.

the thing where the whole screen cuts to the low production value entrance video only to randomly cut back to the entrance is something they should stop doing.

Quite rough round the edges, that one.

he looks awful. darby, despite being smaller, pulls off the unhinged, 'danger to himself and others' thing a hundred times better. havoc just looks like a dude who didnt grow out of his teenage emo phase.

having the need for an enforcer just whiffs of 'top heel of the division,' which would be lame, or authority figure, which we don't need any more of for awhile.

That three way tag really screamed of a "moves1
    !!" match

Lots of really cool spots but not a lot of story within the match. I think they were trying to show jungle boy as a tough never say die baby face but I didn't think jungle boy was selling enough to really put it over.

I still enjoyed the match for what it was, luchasaraus ended up being the stand out to me. Those kicks and then that standing moonsault was sick.

I want to like the white boys from heaven but every time I see them they kind of disappoint. Evans was one of my favorites back in the day but he seems to be missing something. I get it jack you can flip and you always land on your feet but ya something is missing.

one thing im really liking about the commentary on this show: one big criticism of the sean spears spot last show was that it overshadowed the cody/allin match. but the commentary keeps bringing up that fact, that a great match got overshadowed and people dont remember it as they should, as something that made the spears attack so terrible.

This show has felt like a step down from the last two so far. I did really like the opener, though, and I love the Luchasaurus/Jungle Boy tag team. Also thought Hangman/Kip was a good character showing for Page. Everything else has been kinda meh.

I'd be more hyped for Kong v Kong if it was like ten years ago.

It would be something if it made sense for him like when he attacked Naito, but being a random dude is just meh

the all in one was good cause there was good misdirection in the pentagon get up, and his new japan ones were set up better for surprises cause we never knew when he would be there. this was just super obvious. AEW is based in the US, he's feuding with hangman, he was advertised for the damn show, and who is buying a single random dark order dude attacking page for no reason.

Camera work has been a little off. The v trigger in the corner kind of got missed because of the cut.

I'm sure it'll get better but there have been a few moments like that tonight

I understand why they don't have Kenny in the title mix right now. They don't need him there and he doesn't need the title but Kenny is far and away the horse AEW should be tied too.

It's not really minor. Fyter fest was more of a Kenny project, this was more of an AEW thing.

Enjoyed the show. Though I thought the wrong team won in the main event. Kenny and Cima was great. MJF is great. Darby has won me over after originally not caring. I agree that Jericho and masks can stop being a thing. My main gripe though is Hangman. The guy is great in the ring but they haven’t done anything to make me want him to be the champ. They haven’t made him look like a credible contender for the championship. So hopefully Jericho wins and then fights someone we can root for. And also get rid of Alex Marvez.

Good show. Not amazing but a little better than FyterFest. 7.5 /10

Absolutely adored the Omega match. Started slow and the next thing you know, you’re on the edge of your seat. Went into it thinking Cima had no chance of winning, but in the final five minutes I actually thought it could happen. The double knee spot on that little mini table almost killed Kenny lol

My biggest criticism: TOO LONG! Was the Jericho promo necessary after we already saw him attack Page earlier in the show?
Also, the Page-Sabian match did not need 20 friggin minutes.

If you want long matches, book less of them! They have to fight the urge for excess if they really want people tuning in from start to finish. 4 hours is just ughhh

    Other miscellaneous thoughts:
-Women’s Tag match was way too sloppy for my tastes.
-I like the Brandi / Awesome Kong pairing.
-Main Event was just fun, not something I’d ever re-watch but it’s a match that we will probability never see again. Dustin was impressive for a 50-year old.
-JR has got to go. Give him a backstage role only. He has no enthusiasm, and seems to want to criticize the show rather than be excited about it. Part of me thinks he only signed with AEW to sick it to Vince, with no real plan or motivation to make AEW successful.
-3 vs 3 match was a great showcase. More of all these guys please.
-Luchasaurus is OVER, big time. Push him.

    Other thoughts:

JR has been great the last two shows. what was he criticizing? im gonna guess that being an older, overweight dude that spending four hours sitting in the florida heat didnt gel well for him.

JRs been fine but overall the commentary's always felt too generic. they don't have any real chemistry, they're not too interest, not memorable. i dunno, it seems like english wrestling commentary is in the dumps anyway, so they might not really be able to do any better, and it's not like it's bad. you know, matt strike and vampiro were actually a great commentary team in lucha underground, for as much shit as striker deservedly gets. personality, chemistry, didn't feel generic. is vampiro still with AAA? do a vampiro and JR booth.

Pretty good but probably the weakest of their shows so far. Show was already long before the main event went 30 minutes. I thought the venue was really cool, I like the look and feel of ampitheaters for wrestling events. Outdoors, crowd is really close but they're still big enough that it feels like a major show.

Curious how much longer Dustin will continue to wrestle. He's about as good as he's ever been, I feel like a pay-per-view world title match for him would be pretty epic.

I thought the show as alright but there were a lot of things that didn't work for me. The outdoor setup was very cool, but the crowd was clearly out of it due to heat by the end. You either say that or you had matches that were too long over the course of the night because the crowd didn't seem engaged for long portions of the show. The main event was definitely on the long side. Commentary still doesn't work for me. Marvez doesn't fit for being at the booth and he's bland when he talks. Jericho's promo was meandering at some points for me and not all that effective. The end of the night stuff was clunky as hell.

I do think they've got some good things to work with, and they've got some lower and midcard performers that are already clicking, but they'll have to fine tune things as they get to the actual TV broadcast.

main event definitely could've been shortened. hangman/sabian didn't need to go to the final minute. jericho should've just cut a quick promo after attacking page, while he was being attended to on the mat.

The Dark Order is almost comically bad. You can't come up with a name other than Stu Greyson?

Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy should have won that match.

SCU vs Lucha Brothers should have been for the Tag Title BYE if they aren't going to be crowning the Tag Champs in the Ladder Match

Jericho looked fat, and cut a unnecessary promo later

    Long Page/Sabian match

    Long Main Event

Weird way to close out the show

JR's been good the last couple shows, seems to be settling in. He's definitely worth it for what he's giving them as a familiar face/voice for former fans. I hope and expect that he'll transition out of announcing over the course of the next year or so.

Excalibur is good, the third guy isn't adding anything and I think they should drop him. I prefer two man booths, and I think they should do two man if only to be different from WWE.

So the ending of the show...did Omega and the guys realize mid-promo that he couldn't say "Bang" on a show for victims of shootings? Seems like that's something someone would have thought of ahead of time.

Yeah, first half of the show was forgettable, but absolutely fine. Jericho promo was actually pretty shit, really, and unnecessary. Loved the Kenny/Cima match and enjoyed the main event. All in all, a thumbs up.

But yes, too long. And after not wanting JR at all at the start, I think he'll be fine in the long run. Get Marvez out and shorten these show.

I don't think it's been announced or anything, but I certainly assume JR won't be doing the TNT show. That said, maybe he will.

-Omega/CIMA was pretty exciting. I think it took a minute to really catch momentum, and there was a point I felt like CIMA was using the meteora a bit too much. But other than that, this may have been the highlight of the night up to this point. A-/92

-Jericho's promo was pretty standard, but I liked the idea that he's actually scared of losing to Hangman. I also think Hangman coming out to attack Jericho made this feel more hot, just a little bit. I love Hangman, but I still feels pretty underwhelming for the first AEW Title match.

-Hot opening for Young Bucks/Brotherhood. The trading of holds and then getting into each other's face made this feel personal. I also love whenever the Young Bucks wrestle a slower match and show they can actually develop ring psychology. Dustin and Cody gelled great together and mostly felt like they never lost a beat from the last time they teamed. I felt the middle of the match kind of lost some momentum, but overall this was a well-delivered main event. But the wrong team won and I think the crowd being so dead did take a lot away from it. This would be a highly ranked match otherwise. A-/91

-Oof, the time running out at the end of the show was awkward as hell, and completely sucked the air out of what was probably going to be an emotional plea for the Brotherhood to keep teaming and entering the tournament. But Cody did a good job of taking command of the moment and getting the crowd back with his little promo. But man...Kenny having to do an alternative to his send-off catchphrase was also awkward. Let's just hope none of that happens again any time soon.

Honestly, this show was a bit more of a disappointment compared to the last two. I liked the opening match, and I like moments of the other matches, but nothing really grabbed me here. Even though Fyter Fest felt like a mixed bag, I felt the highs really made up for the lows, and I didn't really feel that here.

Oh, and the arena and stage set-up was fucking awesome. Felt super unique. Since the building is owned by the Khans, I hope and expect there to be regular shows here. I think AEW can really benefit from having unique sets.

    Finally finished this.

Honestly Omega's match was the only thing great here. Having said that..it was really great.

Also. Someone tell these guys that pink highlighter does not look like blood. Fresh, dried or otherwise.

Jericho looked like someone woke him up from a nap five mins before his promo.

God I can't see liking the main event that much. Granted I don't care for the young bucks work like he does. Not a bad match by any means. But I'd go no higher than 3 out 5.

It was odd because the Bucks clearly didn't wrestling the majority of the match in their typical style. It was more of Rhodes-like match. I'm sure the audience wasn't amped to see that. The match was just too long, too. I was already apprehensive about the match when they announced there was a 60-minute time limit.

I wouldn't even say it was too long. I watched the show in chunks so I wasn't burnt out at that point. I just thought it was a pretty average match. Cody/Dustin were very good. But the bucks were their usual "OK now stand here. OK spot over now walk to next spot. OK did move now lay down. OK lay down now kick out now stand here for next spot" selves.

I mean they know how to do everything. Technically. They just look like they're rehearsing all the time instead of actually having a match in front of people.

I wonder what the viewership status is vs. the Evolve show.

Probably wouldn’t hold your breath to get a real number on the evolve show because WWE very rarely actually announces numbers from the Network, at least from a standalone perspective. FWIW, Meltzer noted B/R Live numbers were down 10-14 percent compared to Fyter Fest for live viewership. Clearly had to be in line with so many readily available events that night/weekend for content. He did note that they got 18,000 subscribers added that day.

Yeah it sucks they don't release numbers for the shows. I do think I've seen top 10 streamed shows of the week or something a while back. I wonder if they still have those.

Yep. We can't forget that the UFC had a show that night as well. So you had UFC, WWE, and AEW all putting on shows roughly around the same exact time all 3 on streaming platforms.

I still haven't watched all of the Evolve show. I'd love to know the numbers though.

the problem was it was still too much like a young bucks match, in the sense that they kept doing spot after spot after spot 15 minutes after the match should have ended. the first half of the match was great. if after they started working on matt's arm he made the hot tag and they added on a ~5 minute home stretch and ended it there, it would've been a MOTYC, even with the bad crowd.

for real. there were three separate spots, at least, during the match of someone jumping up the rhodes bros corner buckle and coming down on someone outside. it immediately struck me as odd and draining the well.

Yeah, a lot of those matches were long for the sake of long. Kip Sabian going 20 with the #1 contender was mind boggling. It was wrestled well and there may well be a good 20 minute match between them in the future, but as the go home for Page it was unnecessary.

I liked the 6 man tag. A lot of character work which I liked. There's something there for all 6 of them once they find their direction on TV.

Women's match again, glazed over. Brandi can't wrestle.

Glazed over the multi-man tag. Seen one, seen them all. Is this "winner gets a first round bye" thing a joke? Because by virtue of having to win it to qualify, is it not therefore a first round match?!

Lucha Bros and SCU was a great midcard tag. Again, these are the acts you focus on. Character work, charisma, energy. That Angelico and the fat cunt from the Dark Order don't have it and I've no interest in watching them. Pentagon though, hell yeah.

Omega vs. CIMA was great. CIMA has been a revelation on these shows. Great to see a veteran get a shot and put in quality performances. Omega is amazing of course.

Main was too damn long but fun enough. Guessing the story is Cody losing his touch with the executive work and gradually suffers worse defeats going into the TV deal, including against Spears. Then you do a redemptive arc on PPV (Spears 2, Bucks in a titles vs. Dustin's career match) going into Cody vs. Omega for the title at a big PPV. Loses, turns heel on Dustin, retires him on the next PPV, eventually wins the title.
