Listen To A New Album Each Week... who's in?
Hello all - a suggestion for us.
In a bid to widen my current and quite set music taste, I saw a good idea on another forum that we could incorporate here. We had something similar on here but it was with recommending all types of entertainment to each other IIRC, whereas if we keep it to music only and do it as a group (especially nowadays with every man and his dog having access to music streaming platforms now, it could be fun to do).
So every Wednesday, we create a new thread, picking an album for everyone else to listen to that's available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube etc, giving reasons why you chose the album, and then the rest of us give it a listen throughout the week and then comment on it in the thread. Turn-based, we can do a draw of the turns etc. Could be interesting as I remember @Simon throwing a Nas album at me that I loved which I'd never played before (for example). Best thing he's ever done.
If we get an initial 6-8 people at least, then we can start it, and I will happily not go first too.
There could be any reason for you choosing an album - it could be one you hold dear to your heart that's popular, a relatively unknown album by a band/artist you love, an underrated classic in your eyes... anything.
What's an hour out of your week trying something new?
