Well, at the very least, the albatross of the MITB is gone. I would hope that they can get the title off Lesnar in a convincing fashion and build someone up from it. Will that happen? I'm not holding my breath.

While that would seem like something they'd do, that is something they SHOULD NOT do. It would conjure up the old feelings of Roman's nap then win that made the audience full out turn on him the first time. He should never win another Rumble. They may overestimate the good tidings from him being in remission have brought.

Plus, with Braun on Raw, and being built back up, he is the logical choice to win it off him, like he should have done before.

    Brock wins the belt? Boo.

    Everything else? Yay.

This show, honestly, I had no anticipation for, but every match outside of Owens/Ziggler, delivered about what I was expecting. Fun stuff.

PPV was pretty solid across the board. Savvy in terms of usage of Taker. Liked the fact KO squashed Ziggler. Tag title matches were entertaining. Black/Cesaro was class.

I'm not bothered by Lesnar winning the belt because it's some nice poetry from when Seth cashed in on him, and we're only four weeks away from SummerSlam...

I really liked this event over all...

It was a fun show. I really liked how the sequence of matches felt unpredictable.

    Skipped Taker/Reigns vs. Shane/Drew.

    Skipped Usos/Revival.

Cesaro vs. Black was everything I wanted it to be. Great match. Would be glad to see them have a series.

Enjoyed seeing Bayley get it done on her own. Happy with how they're building her up after the shitty booking of the past. Soon as Graves mentioned Sasha I knew she wasn't showing up, you don't ruin a surprise like that.

Strowman vs. Lashley was tons of fun.

SD Tag Title match was very enjoyable. HM are great, look forward to them getting the titles in time.

Styles vs. Ricochet delivered the goods. I'm alright with Ricochet winning since Styles just turned and has goons now, helps with the heel turn and Ricochet chasing to reclaim it sounds good.

Loved the stunner and done match with KO/Zig. Not really looking forward to KO and Shane feuding or having matches, though, honestly.

Joe vs. Kofi was pretty good.

Main event was pretty fun. Hopefully Evans and Corbin drop down the card a ways after this. Evans in particular is out of her depth, though I think she's got potential down the road. EoD on Becky was unexpected. I was kind of thinking Rollins was going to frogsplash Evans at one point earlier when she was in the middle of the ring and he'd just gotten the tag.

Fuck Brock. Fuck Brock as Champ. Boo hiss and all that. Was really hoping/expecting Becky to help Seth retain and give ol' Brock the ball shot. Bummer.

Ah well, get Strowman back in the title picture and give him the goddamn belt already.

Not down for Brock as a champ, but it could work. If he loses to Strowman or someone else fresh, he was used effectively. If we have 6 months f Lesnar, its proof that WWE learned absolutely nothing from last year.

Love Black and Cesaro. Two of my absolute faves. I am also down with a multi-match run

    Great ending.

As Rollins 'saved' Becky, I turned to my wife and said, "this would be a great time for Lesner to cash in"

Yes, Virginia, there is still a Santa Claus.

Lesner cashing in was the Cherry on top of a most boring ppv Sundae....

I mean it's not Milo and Otis hoisting the Tag Team gold but it will have to do.

Really great PPV from start to finish. Not a dull moment. Brock winning is the best. Absolutely love seeing people with their panties in a bunch over it. You miserable bastards.

Strowman v. Lashley was my favorite match last night. I don't really get the direction right now, as one would assume Rollins v. Lesnar @ Summerslam. Strowman could be inserted, make it a triple threat and have Strowman pin Lesnar leaving Rollins v. Strowman for the Fall?

Yeah there's a lot of questions as to what direction certain wrestlers are taking. What happens with Roman? Drew? Strowman? Who is Bray Wyatt going to feud with? How about Taker or even a returning Cena? Orton? I actually would love to see Bray Wyatt vs Cena with Bray getting his revenge from the last feud.

I'd imagine we are getting KO vs Shane again? Maybe a match where they put their careers on the line or something like that. Ricochet vs Styles in some sort of gimmick match. Nakamura vs Demon Balor?

I like the idea of Rollins vs Strowman vs Lesnar

If we get something like this it might be a pretty good show. Not sure where Samoa Joe, Miz, and Daniel Bryan stand. Is Bryan still in the tag division?

Kofi Kingston vs Roman Reigns or Randy Orton?
    Rollins vs Strowman vs Lesnar
Kevin Owens vs Shane McMahon-Career ending match
    Bray Wyatt vs John Cena
    Ricochet vs Styles-ladder match
    Demon Balor vs Nakamura
    Undertaker vs Drew McIntyre
    Sasha Banks vs Becky Lynch
    Bayley vs Charlotte
Aleister Black vs ? maybe Orton or Ali

I imagine we're either getting Sasha versus Bayley or Bayley versus Becky at Summerslam. There's an outside shot of the dead horse being beaten again with Charlotte and Becky.

Bryan will be interesting. His quasi-breakdown via the post PPV YouTube clip leaves it very open on what he's going to do. Could be anything really.

My favorite match on the show was Cesaro vs Black. I wish they could've cut time from a couple of the other matches and given these guys like 3-4 more minutes. Second favorite match was Ricochet/Styles.

I thought the Smackdown tag title match was probably higher in regard to me in terms of the second best match of the night, but I don’t really have a problem with saying Styles and Ricochet was up that high. It’s not in the realm of underperforming that we saw with Styles and Nakamura, but it feels like it’s missing something that’s not taking it a higher gear between those two. I’m definitely knocking the crowd for some of that last night.

WWE is always my first choice, if AEW or New Japan show go head to head with them, I'm sorry to those guys but I'm gonna be putting on the Network. But being negative and shitting on these companies that are putting on good shows and just trying to make the business great again, I don't want to be like that. As much as I dislike Cody, Jericho, Goldust, and Dean Ambrose for leaving WWE (I want the best in the WWE), they are all making wrestling great and exciting again. Still hate Jericho though fuck that guy.

I mean I checked out the Evolve show, didn't know who most were and enjoyed it.

Nice little bits of intergender action at Extreme Rules, with Becky paying tribute to RVD with a "van maninator" to Corbin, and good on her for taking that end of days near the end of the match. Rollins bringing out the trifecta of stomps for the first time since 'Mania was great too, should have kept doing that his entire run to show he had edge.

Lesnar cash-in was pretty straight forward and uncomplicated. Thought Seth would have put up more of a fight and Corbin would have gotten involved, or Becky would have given Lesnar a stare down. Perhaps they're building towards Roman and Brock again at Summerslam now?

Owens vs Ziggler was hilarious. Now that's mostly what everyone would love to see happen to Dolph on a regular basis.

Kofi and New Day don't exactly have ''all the gold babbbyyyyyyy", they're missing the IC belt on SD, but maybe that's why they switched it to Nakurmura to act as a transitional for either Woods or Big E.

It was an excellent show overall. Thought Usos/Revival was a bit sloppy.

The ending definitely did leave a really bad taste in my mouth

I'm not super negative to the ending of that ppv. I am negative to the idea that IMO Vince and co. think that the heat Lesnar is getting is good heel heat which it's not. And tbh the company itself is getting some serious heat for this whole "Lesnar as champ but never around" booking. Fuck man, we're conditioned a way now that we don't need to see the belt defended every fucking week just have dude show up more than once a month or once every 3 months.

I grew up in an era where you would be fucking lucky to see Hulk Hogan on Prime Time wrestling. He was almost exclusive to ppvs, SNME, and house shows-even then it wasn't all of them. But that was a different era. If that was 2019, at the very least we'd want to see Hogan on Raw every week or 3/4 Raw's a month and he would more than likely wrestle at every ppv as well.....

I think my only real issue is Joe going down after getting grazed by Kofi's foot. I know, Kofi's the champ and his finisher is pretty well protected, but Joe dominated the match and I would have rather seen a less decisive ending.

Lesnar was fun teasing the cash-in with the Beastbox.

Now that he's actually champ again...meh.

I was hoping he would cash in on Seth at Mania only to fail

It feels like Trouble in Paradise has been an extremely protected finisher since Kofi has really gotten this push. Have to give them credit for that.

-Reigns/Undertaker vs. Shane/Drew was pretty much the best use of everyone involved and made for an awesome opener. Undertaker looked surprisingly fresh. Maybe that's just what happens when you don't give him some other washed up old dude to try and make magic with. Drew looked decent against the big man. Roman wasn't completely forgotten. B/84

-I think The Revival vs The Usos was a perfect example of how the crowd reaction can drastically change a match. Without the sound, they wrestled an awesome match, but the storyline had so much lost momentum that the crowd could hardly be bothered. And it really sapped out all the energy out of the match. B/86

-Black/Cesaro pretty much lived up to the expected hype and it was awesome. I think Black might have been losing some momentum with those backstage promos, but he got his heat back big time here. Cesaro is firing on all cylinders again, too. This match had some bombs. A-/90

-the crowd was surprisingly hot for Bayley vs. Bliss and Cross. I love Bayley's version of the Macho Madness jacket. Also just noticed my boy Drake calling the match! In general, just a well-told story both in the ring and in the consistent story building up to it. Bayley also building back up her clout is great to witness. I'm looking forward to what comes next with Cross having eaten the fall. B+/87

-Strowman/Lashley was a fucking blast. Wild from the start, and both men really gave it their all to make this feel like a bitter brawl. One thing I've noticed tonight is the camera shots feel a bit different. And even though you could ultimately see the cushion at the end of the match, the way they made it feel like camera's weren't prepared for the slam through the box did wonders for making it look legit. Also made for that badass shot of Strowman breaking through and walking out like triumphant beast...err...monster. The smoke and mirrors just barely makes this one better than Black/Cesaro. A-/91

-Damn, the Triple Threat Tag was awesome. A couple convincing false finishes, great look for all teams involved, and a surprise victory at the end with a wicked awesome finish. I actually popped at the end there, because New Day was the last team I thought would do it. Also happy to see the potential of all of New Day draped in "gold" come the end of the night. Heavy Machinery fit in so well. A-/92

-Styles/Ricochet was kind of weird, because the crowd wasn't always there for it. But when they were, they were really hot. I think this was another match with a good finish, and the overall home stretch was a treat. I think the crowd hasn't fully bought in to Ricochet, but this will probably help get some more sympathy for him and put a bigger fire under him. Styles winning the title makes me think Brock is definitely walking out with a belt tonight. A-/90

-I'm totally cool with Owens taking out Ziggler instantly with a Stunner.

-Kofi/Joe was a bit short to become something truly special. It felt like right when it was kicking into a higher gear, it was over. Great look for Kofi as champion, and Joe continues to keep himself looking legit before losing. Was hoping for a bit more, though. B+/88

-The mixed tag actually felt like it belonged in the main event. Not in the sense that it was better than certain other matches, but the fact that it felt big and the performers gave it their all to make it greater than the sum of its parts(particularly on the opposing side). I liked having Baron actually hurt Becky, and having Seth lose it after that was a nice touch for him. Unfortunately, I think having Brock decimate him after took away from that. B+/88

Overall, was a really good PPV again. Not everything got crazy, but the baseline of quality was pretty high. I'm mixed on ending with Brock holding the Universal Title. On one hand, it made for a hot conclusion to the show. On the other, Brock has the championship again, and I don't really know who beats him for it unless Seth gets it back. I have no faith they actually give Braun the rub.

Yes. "Bad" heel heat is when you're a heel but you're legit not wanted on t.v. Like Jinder Mahal. He was getting booed not because he was playing a great role as a bad guy, but because he was a job guy turned World champ over night and people didn't want to see that. Just like people aren't booing Lesnar because his killing it as a heel, they're booing him because they don't want him dipping in and out every 5 months with the Universal title.

People boo Brock because they are jealous that he works 10 times a year but gets paid millions. That is why I cheer the man, because that is the dream.

lol. Honestly, never heard anyone ever put it like that so fuck yeah I'm cheering this man for another reason other than being the shit. I want that 10 appearances for 5 million a year lifestyle. Especially when you know he's just piling cash in a barn up north.

If my boss paid me $5 million to come in 10 days a year, I'd probably still live the same, but would just fix up the house, pay off debt, and maybe get a new car. Or with $5 million I could probably just uber to and from places everyday.

It's possible, but I think it's more like I'd pay to have my house moved to another area Love my house, neighborhood not so much. I'd buy one of those plots of land that are 150 acres and plop the house right in the middle, with like a mile long driveway or some shit. Would be awesome.

Meltzer seems to be very lenient on the show. I don't think the 4 star matches were quite that high. Maybe the 3 to 3.5 range.

Strowman v. Lashley was 5 star on the Meltzer which is a 40 on the Big Daddy Cool scale.
