    Battle Project Wrestling

A website and Twitter account have appeared online promoting a new wrestling company called Battle Project Wrestling.
As of yet, there is only the following video clip:

We begin in a dimly lit arena of some sort, all we can see is a lone spotlight shining down on the Battle Project Wrestling logo in the center of a wrestling ring. Our camera then pans over to a man in a suit.

“Hello wrestling fans, my name is Don Piano. It's quite simple: I've been a fan of professional wrestling my entire life. While I've never had the physical skills necessary to step into the ring, I have the mental skills to succeed on the business side. I have managed a number of wrestlers to great success while also helping several fledgling companies find their way. And now I'm striking out on my own. This is the big bang of Battle Project Wrestling.”

The arena suddenly bursts into light revealing a magnificent gold-trimmed ballroom-style arena with chandeliers hanging high above the ring.

“I am standing here in the Piano Family Ballroom at the Grand Borledeux Hotel. This ballroom has been in my family for generations and now, my father has handed me the key. Thanks to a partnership with Nortflorx streaming service, I plan to bring you the best professional wrestling has to offer. Please stay tuned to our website and Twitter to see our star-studded roster take shape and for announcements about our upcoming events. The Battle has begun...”
    ----

BPW is going to be a 12 episode show with a mid-season PPV-type event and a season finale PPV-type event.

Your job is to sign up below as either a wrestler of your own creation or as a real-life wrestler. Depending on how many folks sign up, I'll pad out the roster with some jobbers, as well. Beyond that, I only ask for your participation.

The more you can offer, the better, but don't feel like there's a certain level of expectation. I would like as much creative input from you as possible as far as ideas you have for your character, who you'd like to feud with, any interesting antics or moments you'd like to be a part of, etc.. You can work together to craft a feud or I can get the ball rolling for you and you can run with it. The more ideas you provide, the less work I have to do, the easier it will be to keep this thing afloat.

I'm thinking the episodes will be posted every 2 weeks or so. In between episodes, you can talk trash and promo, promote your upcoming match, develop your character, post in character, post out of character, PM me ideas, etc., and just try to keep this fun and involved and alive. The goal here is entertainment and to tell a good story with what we're doing so you aren't necessarily going to be graded or succeed based on “good promos” like in the R-feds, although more participation and quality output will likely be reflected in your success in some way (and lack of participation will definitely see you on your back).

The main thing I want to stress is that I'm trying to keep this more streamlined and less of a workload than the R-feds. You don't have to post massive paragraphs of promos (though you can if that's your jam), you can keep it as simple as posting in character to spit some barbs at your opponent. The shows themselves will also not be sprawling novels, I plan to keep them brief with only the important details and gist of what went down (like WWE's show recaps on their website). Again, we're doing this to have fun, not overwork ourselves.

Please make it clear when you are posting in or out of character with color tags, quote tags, or some other sort of indicator.

    ----

I also have three fictional managers available:

    “VERY” BARRY GOUDA
Think of Paul Heyman in an ugly plaid suit, like a scummy used car salesman.

VANESSA ST. CROIX **managing "Dangerous" Johnny Dollar & Cypher**
Intimidating business woman who is sharply-dressed and equally sharply-minded.

    FANBOY
An obsessed fan who is less of a manager and more of a personal servant who would gladly take a piledriver for you.

First come, first serve on them or if you've got someone of your own, please include it in your sign up info.

    ----

Any questions, ask away, otherwise, sign your ass up if you're in...

    ROSTER SIGN UP INFO:

    NAME:
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: (or just put “built like AJ Styles” if you don't want to be fussed with specifics)
APPEARANCE: (physical description as detailed as you like or a picture of someone they look like if that's easier)
    FROM:
WRESTLING STYLE: (again “wrestles like Braun Strowman” is fine if it's easiest)
FINISHER(S): (2 moves max., feel free to name them but be sure to explain what they are)
FAVORITE MOVES: (4 of your signature moves, also can be named if you want)
CHARACTER: (summarize your character as concisely as possible)
BIO: (a bit more in depth about your background and who you are and why you're here, etc.)

    NAME: “Mr. Broadway” Kris Destiny
    HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6’. 215lbs
APPEARANCE: Moviestar looks. Dark brown medium length hair that styles well, nice facial hair with a good build. Think Jake Gyllenhaal meets Chris Hemsworth
    FROM: Davenport, IA
WRESTLING STYLE: Hybrid. AJ Styles with Kevin Owen’s mean streak and Ali’s selling capability
FINISHER(S): Heaven on their Minds (V-Trigger Knee, also can be used with short arm/Rainmaker variation)
Oh, What a Circus! (Texas Cloverleaf with Knee in back)
FAVORITE MOVES: Getting to Know You (Snap half dragon/half tiger suplex)
    Edelweiss (Grapevine Dragon Sleeper)
I Get a Kick Out of You (Superkick with left foot)
    Maybe This Time (Discus Lariat)

CHARACTER: Destiny has a huge ego. He thinks his acting background will help him in the business despite himself actually being not nearly as good of an actor as he thinks he is. While he does have some credibility there, he decides to use his athletic background to truly make a name for himself. He has made it on stage but not yet in NYC yet. That and being the best in both wrestling and acting is at the top of his wish list. He can work as both an egotistical heel or an underdog babyface using specific theatre references to help tell the story.

BIO: Kris grew up as a fan of the business and has been since before he was even in school. He never really knew he had the athletic abilities for it until after high school, and by that point he had already begun attending university for theatre. While struggling to make ends meet he decided to begin training and within a few years feels he has the capability to be a great professional. He never really thought his theatre background would help him until very recently. While he is still a bit green at this point, he seems to have found the sweet spot as character. He shows promise in the ring and has been training in MMA with a stronger emphasis in Kickboxing to help him become a more well rounded performer. He also isn’t afraid to use some of his ballet training to show off some of his flexibility if need be.

    NAME: 'Dangerous' Johnny Dollar
    HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6'3"/230lbs
APPEARANCE: Dark brown hair slicked back, brown eyes. Build more lean than muscle-bound. Wears shades and a cocky heel grin to the ring. Think heel Miz. In the ring, wears baggy black martial arts trousers and has a black pad on left elbow with four-aces motif.
    FROM: Las Vegas, Nevada
WRESTLING STYLE: Strike-based with a couple of submission options. Always ready to get a cheap shot in.
FINISHER(S): Silver Dollar (Fireman's carry cutter), Knee's company (Shining Wizard, on larger opponents)
    FAVORITE MOVES:
Defibrilator (heart punch), Las Vegas Deathlock (liontamer), That One Move (top rope elbow drop), Whipcrack (roundhouse kick to the head)
CHARACTER: Massively, massively arrogant and egotistical, because he knows it's backed up with talent. Despite that, he'll think nothing of taking a short cut to help ensure victory. A natural heat magnet who feeds on the crowd's hatred.
BIO: Dollar grew up with two massive advantages in life - natural talent, and a family (in the casino business) who can pay for anything. Moving from Tai Kwon Do to Kickboxing to Muay Thai, Dollar had access to the best coaches and best training facilities, allowing him to reign over each area before he inevitably got bored by a lack of challenge and moved on. A move to MMA fell through due to his demands, but a chance meeting with Vanessa St. Croix alerted him to Battle Project Wrestling and the chance for some more glory.

NAME: His Majesty,Rex "The One True" King
    HEIGHT/WEIGHT:
    6'6" 265lbs

    APPEARANCE:
Always meticulous in his appearance. Backstage he dresses in a tailored suit with a small pin of his coat of arms on his lapel. Shoes polished to a mirror shine paired with a Royal Red cloak with a fur neck fastened with a golden brooch. gold signet ring on his right hand and a circlet on his head. His hair is kept short and styled and his beard in a neat goatee. He also wears a sword at his hip

To the ring he wears white trunks with a matching jacket with both having a black outline of the Union flag. He carried the sword to the ring handing it to an attendant before entering along with his Circlet. Other than the sword and circlet he wears no other jewellery to the ring.

    FROM:
    Great Britain

    WRESTLING STYLE:
Based entirely around setting up for, teasing and eventually hitting the Divine Right. He has mastered the move to the point that he can hit it on any one from any angle at any time from any position. Think DDP except with more variants of the cutter. I'm talking shit like reversing a backslide into a front facelock to set up the cutter. The majority of his moveset, is designed to target the head and neck, weaking them until they finally fall victim to a cutter. The move itself is not enough to put someone away, however it sets up his primary finisher perfectly. He can maintain the 3/4 facelock and roll backwards to smoothly transition into the Camelock. The camel clutch alone may be fought out of and no variant of cutter (save the Pendragon Descent) can reliably secure a pinfall the combination of whiplash and a tightly locked in hold work well. If the combination is still not enough, the Pendragon Descent is used as his ace in the hole, and can also be used to transition into the Camelock.

Beyond this he wrestles a grounded technically sound British style. Once an opponent is in his clutches he won't let go unless forced to and is rarely more than a few steps away from his opponent. A king stands and fights, never withdrawing until the battle is won. He will also never climb the turnbuckles or dive outside of the ring.

    FINISHER(S): Primary:
Camelock (Cutter transitioned into a reverse chinlock/camel clutch)
    Secondary:
Pendragon Descent (Running Inverted Crucifix Cutter)

    FAVORITE MOVES:
Divine Right (Cutter/cutter variants eg, rolling, jumping, TKO, Twist of Fate etc)
    Avalon Suplex (Bridging German Suplex)
Necks Bane (Flapjack, dumping opponent neck first onto the top rope)
    Royal Uppercut (Hammerlock European Uppercut)

CHARACTER: Confident to the point of arrogance Rex believes that all he sees is his by birthright, that he deserves it and has earned it. Despite this, he maintains a good natured public persona. In the ring he never backs down from a challenge and is fastidious about following rules like the good chivalric knights of romance.

    BIO:
At the age of 5, the young Ryan Davies was swimming in the lake near his home village and stumbled in the mud, stubbing his toe on something hard and cold. Intrigued, he dug in the mud and was shocked to find a very old sword. In surprisingly good shape too. When taken to an archaeologist, it was confirmed to be around fifteen hundred years old. Less than a mile away, atop a tall hill there are ruins of an old fort and church build within an ancient stone circle. An old place, a special place, and some would say a magical place. Local legends have long held that the ancient castle was Camelot, home to Arthur and his Knights of the Round table, that the lake was final resting place of Excalibur, where it was returned to the Lady of the Lake.

From then on it was clear to Rex King what he was. Just as Arthur pulled the sword from the stone he had pulled the stone from the Earth itself. He was the True King of England. The King that it needs. He comes to BPW for one reason. To gain followers and allies that will help him take the throne and save Britain.

Manager/Valet: I'll edit in the important members of his court in later.

    BREAKING!
A new video has been posted to BPW's social media:

Don Piano stands under a spotlight in the center of the BPW ring.

"As our roster is beginning to take shape, our genesis continues with this announcement: Battle Project Wrestling will debut with a series of qualification matches. Those winners will earn themselves a coveted spot in our premiere Championship match..."

The camera zooms out and a second spotlight clicks on to illuminate a podium beside him. Resting atop it is a black velvet bag that is very championship belt-shaped.

"The Battle Project Wrestling Championship will be unveiled on our inaugural episode. It will then ascend to rest among these gleaming chandeliers until one of those competitors rises above his opposition to claim it...because that premiere championship match...will be a ladder match!"

A third spotlight clicks on to reveal a ladder standing in the ring. As Don Piano exits, the camera lingers on the ten-foot steel ladder and the still shrouded championship before we fade to black.

Is this a PG-13 show or more R-rated?

I'd say it's R-rated but not gratuitous so the things that make it earn that rating have some weight. Strong language is used selectively so it has oomph and people aren't bleeding in every match, for example, but you can say 'fuck' or talk about your dick if you want.

    NAME: Cypher

    HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6'2" 265 pounds

APPEARANCE: Crazy hair like Bruiser Brody. Long wizard like beard. Slight scar on left cheek down to lip. Body type is like a hardened bar brawler type, not chisled but strong. Attire is a black singlet under a cut off T-shirt (usually featuring a picture of any Nintendo, Marvel, 80s Metal band or any late 80s/early 90s pop culture iconography). Black knee pads. Black boots. Taped fists and wrists.

    FROM: Parts Unknown

Theme Music- "More Human Than Human"- White Zombie

WRESTLING STYLE: Bruiser Brody type brawler with a bit of Cactus Jack risk/bump taker. Relies on brawling but can pull out different suplex variations such as a German, T-Bone, Tiger or Belly to Belly. Will go to the top rope for high flying moves but is 50/50 in connecting with them. Has a weak left knee so can be a step behind at times but is still surprisingly agile. Loves to gouge a eye, bite a ear or nose or low blow a man when he has the advantage. Always has his Brass Knuckles hidden on him or around ringside. Loves to blind a opponent with The Mist then clobber him cold with his Brass Knuckles. If you survive that a jumping piledriver from the middle rope will spell certain doom for opponents.

FINISHER(S): Brainstew (Middle Rope Piledriver). Who Spiked The Punch? (Brass Knuckle Punch ala William Regal).

FAVORITE MOVES: Snap Suplex (ala Chris Benoit). Lariat (ala Bradshaw). Frog Splash (ala D'Lo Brown). The Mist (ala The Great Muta).

CHARACTER: Unpredictable but very intelligent. Enjoys women, a joint, video games or a Captain & Coke but fighting is his first love. Won't blindly accept brawls unless he thinks he has a advantage. Good on the microphone but doesn't feel the need to talk much when fighting will do. Has size but will resort to cheating if he feels he has to. Will turn on any "friend" (ala HBK or Owens) he might have if it gets him closer to whatever goal he seeks.

BIO: A former college hockey defenseman, Cypher spent his younger years learning balance on the ice that comes in handy in a fight now. Spent time drifting doing bar bouncing or bounty hunting jobs to make money. A fan of wrestling since he can remember, after a bit of time lacking direction, it was finally time to give wrestling a try. Having trained, traveled and drank all over the globe Cypher is a well rounded competitor and has arrived in the BPW to win titles while laying waste to anything in his path. He is mostly a loner due to his knack for turning on people and that he has better working relationships with women than men. He is loyal to a fault with his manager, as Ms. St. Croix has promised to lead him to glory and championships in the BPW.

I noticed after I finished that you said first come first serve on manager services. I figure St. Croix would have more than one client though (business women got to make that money!) but if she's not available I'll change stuff out. Just let me know.

She could manage more than one person, I suppose, provided @Stan Accy is ok with it...

Also, I hope we don't get too heel heavy. Let's get some good guys going!

I picked her because one of my best pals is a St. Croix in real life and I just like that you plucked that name out of thin air. I would normally probably pick no manager. If Stan is cool with it then we could maybe start throwing team/stable names around. If not no big deal.

I really was going to try to be a face but I just couldn't help make him a heel. I feel like he'd be the type of heel that turns mega face eventually. Like Sheamus when he originally turned heel to face because he wanted that fight with Mark Henry at SummerSlam 2011. "I'll fight'em". I still love that-short, simple and effective. Of course, that is way down the line here. Every one likes a brawler though.

Fun start. Really hope this takes off. Thanks for giving it a go mth.

Damn, I just realized Jarrod made my character, but the heel version. Hmm, I might just have to tweak him a little bit.

Also, @mth, I'm assuming we're approaching character bios in the same manner as an e-fed? Like, it doesn't have to be super realistic, as long as I'm not like a super-hero that can shoot laser beams or something, right?

NAME: Rip, The Ripper, The Tick-Tock Psychotic, The Old Man, The Hardcore Legend
    HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5’8 270lb
APPEARANCE: (Some talented lad did a pic or two but looks like they’ve been pruned) Built like ECW era Tazz, shaved head and greying goatee, wrestles in blue muscle vest with ‘RipSec’ logo on chest, wears black/grey dpm knee length combats and boots, heavy brace on left knee.
    FROM:
WRESTLING STYLE: Technical/Hardcore/Brawler, violent, brutal and methodical
    FINISHER(S): Ripper - Ankle Lock, Pendulum - F-5
FAVORITE MOVES: 3xGermans, T-Bone Suplex, Diving Headbutt, DDT
CHARACTER: Grizzled vet, been there done that all over the world, father figure to some of the most bizarre dangerous wrestlers in R-Fed history
BIO: Started in the business as a bodyguard/enforcer then became increasingly involved in matches, leading to him winning titles wherever he has been, for many years considered the finest Hardcore wrestler on the planet holding multiple titles across many promotions often at the same time, he created the infamous ‘CLN’ match in RSA where his signature crowbar, the giant Punishers’ hangman’s noose and ladders were legal, he moved through all the major R-Feds having memorable fueds both with and against the biggest names in the business including forming the bizarre ‘InSecurity’ team with the legendary mth and a company spanning feud and friendship with the iconic Cairo and a storied history, including a marriage, with the Brewery he retired to own ICW but was drawn back into the business by his boys until a second serious knee injury retired him once again.

Now, perhaps spurred on by his two sons winning world championships of their own, the old warrior is making one (more) last run, and where the old dog goes Hell follows close behind.

I don't want to get Lucha Underground goofy but I'm ok with some out there characters, provided you don't require significant special effects on the regular. If your character could exist in WWE (non-PG era), they can exist in BPW. And your moves can't defy the laws of physics. Is that what you mean?

C'mon, boys, let's see those sign ups. I've got a handful of jobbers to post but want to hold off in case I might steal your gimmick.

    NAME: Dreg Voderoy
    HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6'6"/276 lbs.
APPEARANCE: Dark hair with an undercut, hangs just past his chin. Bushy and wild beard and moustache. A little thick, with a muscly core, but lacking definition in his arms. Normally wears death metal band tees backstage, and comes out to the ring wearing one, or one of his own shirts that basically looks like a metal album cover. Ring attire: Torn up denim shorts, black ring boots and pads.
    FROM: Chicago, IL

WRESTLING STYLE: Think Aleister Black with more of a powerhouse lean and the intensity of Samoa Joe. His repertoire is basically striking, suplexes, and power moves. Is particularly a fan of kicks and elbows. While he doesn't fly much, he is very agile and uses his speed for more momentum with running strikes and the occasional suicide dive, and will bust out a moonsault in really big matches. He also has an affinity for hardcore wrestling and is very sadistic. While he typically "plays by the rules," his anger sometimes leads to him getting a little too violent.

FINISHER(S): Bestial Devastation(Double Underhook Piledriver), Super Tiger Bomb(Tiger Driver from the top rope)
FAVORITE MOVES: Tiger Bomb(Tiger Driver), Psycho Driver(Emerald Flowsion), Discus Elbow, Maximum Carnage(Sunset Flip Powerbomb to the outside of the ring, usually done onto the barricade or a table, used sparingly)

CHARACTER: Think the intelligence of Raven and the manic psychosis of Cactus Jack. Vengeful and unhinged, but verbose and self-aware. He's a metal head and has heavy appreciation for the dark and evil. While he is a man driven by violent delights, he is honorable and respectful to those who have earned it. However, if you have wronged him in any way he perceives, he will obsess until he's made you pay retribution. Prone to rage-fueled psychotic breakdowns. Despite how serious he takes things, he has a quirky sense of humor, and often takes much joy and delight in the pain or suffering he inflicts on others.

BIO: Dreg Voderoy, being born in Las Vegas, Nevada, was abandoned by his parents at the early age of 8. Waking up one morning in a trash dump in the downtown strip area, he cried for hours, constantly crying out for his parents to come rescue him. The next day, an unruly teenager began teasing and shoving him around while he was trying to find his way home. After finally being slapped, something snapped in him and he beat the kid to a point of critical condition. This was the beginning of the breakdown of Dreg’s mind. He went through phases of living in foster homes, orphanages, and being homeless, but was always a problem child fueled by violence. As he got older, that violence became more severe and deadly, and he has been behind bars a few times. By the time he was 23, he finally found an outlet for that violence that wouldn’t get him in trouble with the law: professional wrestling. After getting his foot in the door through various independent and backyard promotions, he went through a few name and personality changes. After years of self-imposed exile, he has finally returned to the squared circle for one reason: pure violent supremacy.

    NAME: Gene Erik
    HEIGHT/WEIGHT: About average.
APPEARANCE: Plain trunks, kneepads, boots...maybe they're blue? Black? Or red sometimes? Buzzcut. Can't really remember too well...nothing really stands out.
    FROM: Anytown, USA
    WRESTLING STYLE: Standard AF.
FINISHER(S): Maybe it's a DDT or a neckbreaker...? Has anyone ever seen it?
FAVORITE MOVES: Bodyslam, suplex, atomic drop, dropkick.
CHARACTER: If room temperature tap water were a wrestler. The most bland, basic, default CAW-esque wrestler. Completely forgettable but adequately serviceable.
BIO: Gene Erik always wanted to be a wrestler so eventually he went to wrestling school and became one. No, really, that's it.

    ----

    NAME: Headlockin' Harry
    HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6', 200 lbs
APPEARANCE: Looks like Oney Lorcan. Has a skull/padlock logo on his trunks.
    FROM: Philadelphia, PA
    WRESTLING STYLE: Headlocks.
    FINISHER(S): Headlock
FAVORITE MOVES: Headlock, headlock, headlock, headlock.
    CHARACTER: One move wonder.
BIO: Harry was a bit short on cash when he signed up for wrestling school so he could only afford to learn one move: the headlock. But by god, he has every intention of only needing that one move to succeed. Thus far, it's not looking promising...

    ----

NAME: "The 8-Bit Player" Scotty "Bang Bang" Chang
    HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5'10", 192 lbs
APPEARANCE: Black spiked hair, long tights with video game referencing graphics on them.
    FROM: His mom's basement.
WRESTLING STYLE: Decent grasp of the basics, far too over confidant about doing the bigger, flashier stuff, which always ends up backfiring on him. Think of a guy like Heath Slater who totally bungles up trying to do anything high risk or complex.
    FINISHER(S): Moonsault that never connects.
FAVORITE MOVES: Hurricanrana (with excessive post-move celebration if he pulls it off),
trio of dropkicks (with much needed catching of breath afterwards),
    Superkick (followed by sore groin),
attempted figure four leglock (but he usually forgets which leg goes where)
CHARACTER: Video game obsessed nerd who thinks he can wrestle for real just because he excels at it on his home console.
BIO: Scotty Chang is hella good at gaming. He assumed his mad skills at all the wrestling games would translate into real world in-ring success. They have not.

    ----

    NAME: SquidMask
    HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5'10.5", 105 lbs
APPEARANCE: Gear has a hot pink and black color scheme with white boots. Tights have Japanese characters on one leg, a cartoon squid on the other leg, and an ad for Osaka Seafood Concern's Squid Balls on the butt. Mask is hot pink and looks like a squid.
    FROM: Osaka, Japan
    WRESTLING STYLE: Junior/lightweight
FINISHER(S): "Calimari Clutch" - Modified Octopus hold
    FAVORITE MOVES: Floatover DDT
    X-Factor
    Lady of the Lake
    "Ink'd!" - Black poison mist
CHARACTER: Food mascot come to life. Sort of like if Tony the Tiger became a Tiger Mask-esque wrestler, except he's based on a cartoon squid and is plugging Squid Balls.
BIO: Partial funding for BPW comes from Osaka Seafood Concern. All they ask for in return is that this guy gets TV time. He doesn't have to be featured prominently or win, he just has to be there. So he will be.

    Bio:

Dominic 'The Diamond' Dust made his ROR debut by facing off with Rip whom he lost too by getting his head dropped onto a Land Rover. Dominic since though has been trying to prove his worth and he overcame the odds at ROR's first PPV by getting a victory over Tyson Bell and Devlin McLaine. Since ROR failed to survive Dominic has shown interest in a new company which he promises will be a new era in the feds and a new beginning for him. Dominic 'The Diamond' Dust looks forward to the road ahead, Dominic was given the I.C.W 24/7 Championship by Rip. Dominic 'The Diamond' Dust successfully managed to defend the 24/7 Championship twice on the first episode of I.C.W by defeating Bloodied Fox and Dazz who both got involved with eachother in the matches which enabled Dominic 'The Diamond' Dust to score victories over them.

Purity has disbanded which now means Dominic 'The Diamond' Dust must go at it alone, which Catch 22 have probably been wanting for awhile. But Dominic promises it's not the last that the ICW Universe has seen of Purity.
Dominic 'The Diamond' Dust later would reveal that everything that you knew about him had been a lie, he wanted people to believe in the story he showed everyone just to get people to to think they knew him. Dominic's past would later be revealed by an old casino owner named Peruzzi whom Dust had stole everything from but he wouldn't do it alone, he revealed that his wife Christy was apart of the devious plan.

Dominic "The Diamond" Dust has had many rivalries with the likes of Jonathan Caito, Dazz, Tyson Bell and Rip to name a few but none were as big as his own personal demons which would take it's toll on Dominic, nearly ending his life. With a lot of the feds crumbling down, everything failing Dominic would decide to make one last appearance, this was thought to be the end of "The Diamond" where he would lay all his cards down in the ring, he was not even apart of KWC but decided as that was falling apart it would be the end and therefore made the decision to hang it all up, issuing everyone his final farewell....for now.

Now here we are, BPW! Dominic "The Diamond" Dust is back but why? What's he been doing? Dominic believes this is his chance, his chance to write the wrongs, one more chance to show the critics that he isn't just the very best but that he is "The Diamond" in the deck. As for what he's been doing, he's been aching to make a comeback. He's been reaching out to everyone trying to start something but his efforts were ignored, he will be ignored no longer.

So we're got another guy with a cutter as a finisher in @The Diamond's guy. That was going to be a focal point for a feud between @Stan Accy and @Kotre but now that feud's going to have to become a three-way or I think we're gonna need some people to change up their moveset...

I'm having a tough time finding any r-fed info as well. There is a pretty big gap missing in the Archive section. Will add a character soon. Not sure if I want to bring Grey back or not.

A new video appears on Johnny Dollar’s Instagram story…

Filmed on Vanessa St Croix’s phone, it shows Dollar sprinting 10 metres to a set of stepladders, racing to the top, sliding down to the bottom and sprinting back to the start position, before repeating. The caption reads 'specialist training'

A new video has been posted to the BPW social media!
*The camera cuts to a large, deserted training facility. All manner of free weights, weight machines and other fitness apparatus can be seen. As the camera pans round, a full-size wrestling ring comes into view. A single figure is standing in the middle.*

Dollar – Good evening, and welcome to my training base. I thought I’d introduce myself here before I do the same to the collection of human detritus that Don Piano laughably calls ‘talent’. My name is Johnny Dollar, and I call myself Dangerous because that’s what I am – to anyone who faces me or gets in my way. I’m here to let everybody know – and put the whole locker room on notice – that at the first BPW event, I’m going to climb a ladder and become the first BPW champion. What is hidden under Don Piano’s veil will be going round my waist because I am the single best prospect this company has to offer.

Because let’s look at my competition to this point. A failed actor who’s one 3-count away from waiting tables back in Davenport. A delusional Limey who doesn’t climb turnbuckles, let alone ladders. Grandpa with a dodgy knee. A generic street thug who’s going to gas after five minutes. A bunch of beige people not even worth my time, aside from one squid looking fruity motherfucker. A strongman who’s all neck and has the IQ of a hammer. And the pick of the fucking bunch, a dime-store Dollar; from the same city, with the same finisher…I don’t know if he’s some crazed fan with a severe case of Stockholm syndrome, or an ugly chancer trying to cash in on my fame and celebrity. Either way, he and the rest of BPW will be looking up at the top of the pyramid, where I will be and where I belong.

    Until then, beware of danger…

    *The camera fades to black*

    Casino Royale

We are in Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. A hooded man sits in the corner sat up against a pillar, the people don't bat an eyelid.

Nobody notices you when you don't stand out amongst the rest of them; nobody stops and asks if you are alright, they just get on with their day. They ignore your existence, they ignore it because ignorance is bliss, but I will be ignored no longer.

So why have I brought here?

Dominic walks over to the Poker Table and watches as men gamble, the men are wearing suits and lots of jewellery and there's women with them whom are pretty dolled up too.

You see there's always a chancer, whom comes to the table just wanting to gamble with his lively hood, risk it all for that one chance to make it big. Making it big, taking risks that was once who I was, what I once stood for! The only thing I shall risk now is BPW.

Then there's others who want to showoff their assets thinking they own the world, money means no bounds for these kinds people. I've been there, the world is a big bad place and will swallow you up, believe me you are nothing but a puny ant in this world.

Then there's the fraudster, the cheap one at the table, who may have earnt himself a few dollars but just wants to show off that he's good for something when really he isn't worth a dime let alone a diamond. I've seen these people before, coming in thinking they are the big shot but I see through your pokerface, I've seen through the pokerface a long time ago.

The women, oh the women yes, they aren't worth much they just stand there looking pretty hoping that the guy they chose to cheer has lady luck on their side. I had ladyluck on my side and look where that got me,

Dominic looks on with anticipation to see what unfolds.

The chancer decides to fold as luck was not too kind to him.

The showoff decides his luck is in and after a few raises in the stakes reveals his hand. He shows that he has managed to get a full house, whereas the fraudster only unveiled a flush. The women went wild, they latch on quickly to the showoff but then only to realise that there was another one yet to unveil his cards, there was someone laying in wait.

    "A royal flush"

Dominic lays his hand on the table.

Yes I forgot to mention I was also in play too. You see this is why I have brought you here tonight BPW. This is the exact reason we are here, this is just fun and games right now. This isn't the story I wanted telling but here we are, they ignored me and I came up with the goods, I took the winnings and I bested them when they were on the highest mountain. People often ignore something that they fear, that they wish to forget.

Tonight however I am here to put BPW on notice, tonight I am here to say to showboat's to the chancers and to the fraudsters that I am here to make sure that I am ignored no longer, that I am not going to be forgotten, and that yes I am indeed "The Diamond" so your future has been laid out before you, it is inevitable ladies and gentleman, "The Diamond" shall live forever.

The money is handed to Dominic who tosses it back on the table.

It's not about the money; it's never been about the money.

So now I have returned, I have returned for one purpose and one purpose only and that is to prove that I am and forever shall be "The Diamond" and yes you may bet on that.

THE END OF TIME HAS BEGUN TO RUN OUT FOR THOSE WHOM STRUGGLE TO FIND CLARITY AND STRUGGLE TO SEE THEIR PURITY. LIGHT BEGINS TO FADE ON THOSE WHOM STRUGGLE TO FACE THEIR DEMONS AND TO SEE THROUGH THEIR FRAUDULENT WAYS.

THE STORY IS JUST BEGINNING, IT'S TIME TO SEE THE WORLD THROUGH DIAMOND EYES.

    Fade To Darkness.

    Tick, tock
    Tick, tock
    Tick, tock

The clock measures the seconds, slicing time with metronomic precision.

    Tick, tock
    Tick, tock
    Tick, tock

In time with the beat a laden bar rises and falls.

    Steady, unfaltering, almost mechanical.

Under the bar a heavily muscled figure squats, and rises, squats and rises.

Paying no mind to the camera, oblivious to the world around him, the Ripper pounds out the reps.

The brace on his left knee adding a gentle *squeak* as it flexes and compresses, the massive scars visible above and below, silent testimonies to wars fought, both won and lost.

The broad back is a network of scar tissue, stretch marks web the rippling shoulders, the muscles taut under worn skin

It is an old gym, sawdust on the floor to absorb and cover where needed, bars, free weights, ropes and bags where you’d expect machines and mirrors, the boxing ring in the centre is worn and marked, the lighting orange and the clientele rather more colourful and weathered than most.

But this is his world, wherever he goes in the world, LA to Tokyo, Dubai to Durham he seems to find a place like this, a place where the old warriors gather to talk, compare wounds, discuss scars.

    He knows he’s a dinosaur, a fossil, a relic.

Too old, too slow, too many injuries, too many miles on the road.

But he’s heard that for longer than most of these kids have been in the business.

He’s already retired more times than most of these punks will hold belts.

    And yet...

And yet here he is again.

In a company full of bloody kids, one or two familiar faces, but mainly just kids, He’ll the damn Diamond is a veteran around here.

That thought makes him chuckle, the weights jangle in counterpoint to the low grumbling.

    And for what?

    Not the money, not anymore.

The gold? That’s what they think, but that’s just a way to keep score in a game he stopped playing a long time ago.

The boys? Not this time, his boys are gone now, only one or two still wrestling and they do t need the old man around anymore, getting in the way, holding them back.

    No.

There’s only one reason left, pride.

    Just that.

    Pride.

To show the world that he’s not dead yet.

To make the kids take note.

To prove to them, to himself, to his boys.

One last time, to show the world that he’s still the one.

The hardest bastard in the locker room.

    Still.

    Always.

    Tick, tock
    Tick, tock
    Tick......

    A Letter

    To my adoring fans,

I know you have been clamoring to see me get my big break, but do not fear. The day is coming. The day that has replayed in my mind since I was a young boy.

I came up through the ranks as a nobody. Someone who was told that they didn't belong. I scratched and clawed my way to the top and now look at me! My name in lights, right where it belongs. It is a day that has been a long time coming, but no matter how you look at it... it was going to happen.

From my early days on stage as an ensemble member. I know from that same performance that Anything Goes.

I have found my spotlight and it will never shine anywhere else.

If this supposed "Skull Crusher" thinks he deserves his place with me he is going to find out something new.. wait... "What is this Feeling?"

It's the heat of that glorious spotlight that you don't even have the honor to see.

I can't wait until I speak more. It is intermission here for me, and I must get back to my performance of Man of La Mancha. I have now found my "Impossible Dream".

The top of one mountain is the bottom of the next. So I will keep climbing.

    Thank you

A video plays showing highlights form the 2019 strongman competition.

The Bulldog is shown dead lifting a stone that announcers put over as 410 pounds 3 times.

Then we see him tossing a keg over his head and over a bar 15 feet in the air.

The final clip shows him pulling a semi down the street at an impressive pace.

Coming to BPW flashes across the screen
    Bulldog Bobby Baines

OOC UPDATE: I've got a rough draft for the entire first episode written out and am going to start typing up the final version right now. I've also got episode-by-episode feuds mapped out for about half of you at least until the midway point, provided participation remains consistent. So, I'm ready to hold up my end if you'll hold up yours. I was planning to wait until next week to post episode one so you guys could continue to promo but if you just want it up sooner, let me know...

We are set in an empty dressing room. No costumes, no make up, no lights.... Only the natural lighting that comes from the window. We see a figure standing there. He is looking out the open window into the streets of New York City along Time Square. He turns around with a smile on his face. He is wearing just a t-shirt with a hoodie and some jeans. He seems to be at peace. he turns toward the camera and takes a deep breathe

My name is Kris Destiny. I am a wrestler and I am an actor.

I have worked all of my life to get to where I am now. I have put my blood, sweat, and tears into everything I do. I didn't take to football or amateur wrestling while I was in school. I took to the theatre. Once I began my journey I was hooked. I wanted to entertain people to the best of my abilities. I wanted to give them a show. Our audience is paying to see you and you had better give it all you've got.

Despite my theatre aspirations, I was always first and foremost a wrestling fan. Once I tried getting my start in the big cities like Chicago and New York City I realized that I was going to have to cut my teeth before I could get anywhere. Really, I should've expected that. All of my life to that point I have put countless hours into honing my craft and now it seemed like I was back at square one.

    That's how the business works.

Through a mutual friend I began taking some lessons in different forms of combat sport and through them I found someone who was willing to train me to wrestle.

Wrestling and theatre are very alike. There is nothing like them. It gives you a rush like nothing ever could. Once I found my bearings in the wrestling world I knew that I could make this work. I can wrestle and I can act. The one thing I knew is that I wanted to make people happy. I wanted them to go through some ups and downs with me. My trials and triumphs whether it be on stage or in a wrestling ring.

There is nothing that I want to do more than to give people a show that they can be proud of witnessing.

So to everyone out there watching... I want you to know that I love what I do, of course. I want you to know that I am going to continue to scratch and claw my way up because I want to fight for you.

I have performed in rings and theatres of a handful of people and now I am ready to take the next step. So I hope you will join me on this journey to the top of the World.

Destiny turns back to the window. He goes to climb out and the camera follows quickly.... not realizing there was a fire escape.

::A camera pans over a dark room, barely lit by an old fading light in the corner. The room seems dank, almost dungeon-like. Seeing the various structure that resemble torture devices doesn’t help. As it pans, a gruff voice speaks over the scene::

I remember a time where I thought I had put all of this past me. A few times, actually.

::The room appears to be messy as it’s panned over. Dark stains that haven’t been treated in years…it couldn’t be blood, could it?::

Times where I thought I was cured. Times where I thought I had buried my past and my demons. Times where I thought I could finally put the violence to rest.

::Various tools line the walls at certain points. Some mundane, some out of place. Some very obviously implements of pain::

But no matter how much I try to escape my nature…no matter how many times I attempt to eradicate it and burn it all down…it grows right back.

::The camera pans over the floor, where it is littered with papers. Now closer to the light source, it seems to be a mix of crude sketches depicting simplistic, yet blatant murder and torture, mixed in with actual pieces of art that took time. These pieces are much more abstract, but leave a sense of grim dread::

Like planet earth itself, no matter how much I try to transform the landscape of my being…nature always takes over with the intent to destroy everything that man has created.

::As it cascades across the floor, the camera happens on a pair of black wrestling boots. It slowly rises, revealing the legs bent in a sitting position, covered with tattered denim shorts, and catching the glimpse of a shirt with the art for the Obituary’s Cause of Death::

Well, man made professional wrestling. So I think I’ll let my nature do what it does best when it comes to BPW…

::The camera finally reaches the grizzly-bearded jaw of Dreg Voderoy, the light dimly shining down above him as he takes a long drag from a cigarette, the glare of the embers taking up the majority of the screen. He exhales a cloud of smoke as his lips twist into a sick grin::

    Destroy.

I've got an announce team for ringside figured out (Molly Jacobs, wrestling journalist, and Darius Woods, retired wrestler aka V.F. Stein). Don Piano is the authority figure who I'm hoping not to have on screen overly often, only when things get out of hand and to make major announcements. A backstage interviewer seems like a must but hadn't crossed my mind yet, so if you want to make someone up, or we could use unclaimed manager Fanboy to ask the hard hitting questions far too enthusiastically...

**A fan of BPW tweets out video taken of Cypher outside a trashy dive bar, featuring some shitty band, smoking a cigarette. The fan gets Cypher's attention, shouting the question of why Cypher signed with The BPW. **

Vanessa St. Croix is going to be the best manager since Bobby Heenan and is paying me a large amount of money to be her enforcer. She wants me to enforce the idea of "Dangerous" Johnny Dollar as your first BPW World Heavyweight Champion and I will do just that. It doesn't matter who gets in my way. Rex King, SquidMask or even Dreg Voderoy, who I will make a example out of in my debut, will be safe. Ms. St. Croix will rule The BPW and I will retire on the riches I make ensuring she does.

    **End Video**

    BATTLE PROJECT WRESTLING S01E01

Battle Project Wrestling's premiere episode kicks off with a video package featuring an intro from Don Piano leading to a montage of clips and quotes from the various roster members. This is followed by the BPW opening, a brief assortment of clips of the wrestlers set to a remixed version of “Come With Me Now” by KONGOS.

    ----

The Piano Family Ballroom in the Grand Borledeux Hotel is filled to the brim with a raucous crowd ready for their introduction to BPW! Our ringside commentary team consists of esteemed wrestling journalist, Molly Jacobs, and Darius Woods, better known as the legendary wrestler, V.F. Stein! The music and lights fade and a spotlight shines down on Don Piano in the center of the ring beside a familiar podium.

“Welcome to Battle Project Wrestling! Without further ado, the reason every man in that locker room put his name on the line, the reason every one of them is hungry and ready to step into this ring, and the reason they all are ready to climb the ladder here in BPW...I give you the Battle Project Wrestling Championship!”

Piano removes the black velvet bag to reveal a magnificent belt, gleaming golden plates accented and trimmed with silver on a white leather strap. He raises it from the table to the approval of the crowd as a cable and hook lower from the ceiling. He reminds everyone that all of tonight's matches are qualifying matches and then announces that the Championship ladder match will be NEXT EPISODE! He turns to hang the belt but before he can, he is interrupted by the arrival of “The Diamond” Dominic Dust!

Dust tells Piano he needs to “see the world through Diamond eyes” and not waste everyone's time with these qualifying matches and a ladder match but instead should just declare him the Champion! Dust talks himself up further with more casino and diamond references until he is cut off by Piano who reminds him of the irony that diamonds are not actually that rare, that their demand is a marketing invention, and that they lose over 50% of their value as soon as you leave the store! Dust is infuriated and grabs Piano by the collar to make it clear he is not asking, he is telling, and he "will not be ignored"! Fortunately there is another interruption as The Tick-Tock Psychotic, Rip, storms his way down the ramp!

Rip steps up, nose to nose with D3, and reminds him that inside these ropes, they "are standing on sacred ground"! Rip asks Dust if he should teach him some respect but suddenly the Tron above the stage lights up! A choppy video plays with images of a ticking alarm clock and men in white suits with black masks. Amidst the confusion, Dust attempts to attack Rip but Piano gets between the two wrestlers! He tells Diamond he can't just declare his value, he has to prove it, and he'll start tonight against Gene Erik. He asks Rip, with all due respect, to leave the ring. The BPW Championship begins to rise above the ring as Gene Erik makes his entrance and our first match is underway!

    ----

“THE DIAMOND” DOMINIC DUST vs. GENE ERIK

Before Gene can even get out of the gate, Dust throws his ring jacket in his face and blindsides him with a big boot! Dust vents his frustrations with a thorough beating of the Blandest Man in Wrestling, all whilst frequently taking time to scream his own self praise and that he “will not be ignored!”. At one point Dust looks to drop Erik with a Diamond Fusion but Erik slips out the back for a quick roll-up to get a two count! An already boiling Dust is now embarrassed and slaps Gene across the face! Dust sidesteps a charging Erik and sends him throat-first into the top rope! Erik stumbles back and Dust locks him in The End of Time for the submission victory!

    WINNER: DOMINIC DUST BY SUBMISSION

Post match, Dust refuses to release the hold until the ref threatens to reverse his decision. He celebrates his win before getting one last cheap boot to the face of Gene Erick on his way out.

    ----

We then get a shot backstage of various roster members gathered to watch the qualifiers and their less than pleased reaction to Diamond's victory. Diamond storms through the area and shouts, “I bid you farewell...for now!” before heading out to the parking lot! The Diamond has left the building!

    ----

“MR. BROADWAY” KRIS DESTINY vs. HEADLOCKIN' HARRY

This is a contest of how many headlocks one man can take and how many he can escape as Destiny does his best to counter and slip out of the ever-ready grasp of Harry in the opening mat-wrestling exchange of this match. Destiny is able to take control and create separation when he slips around the back and snaps Harry over with the Getting To Know You suplex! Destiny looks to finish it quick with Heaven On Their Minds but Harry sidesteps and Destiny crashes knee-first into the turnbuckle! Harry takes hold of Destiny's leg but unfortunately never learned any leglocks and can only stare at the limb with uncertainty! Destiny takes advantage with an enziguri! I Get A Kick Out Of You sends Harry into the corner and as he stumbles out of it, Destiny meets him with Heaven On Their Minds for the win!

    WINNER: KRIS DESTINY BY PINFALL

    ----

We return backstage to the reactions of the roster and see Vanessa St. Croix meeting with her clients, Johnny Dollar and Cypher, in the corner of the room. Ms. St. Croix shoos away the camera as it draws closer before leading Dollar through the curtains for his match.

    ----

“DANGEROUS” JOHNNY DOLLAR (with Vanessa St. Croix) vs. SQUIDMASK

Before the match begins, Dollar gets on the mic and points up at the BPW Championship to explain that he may also be from the casinos of Las Vegas, unlike “that other jackass”, he's not here to demand his shine, and even though he could buy it several times over, he's here to earn it!

The match begins with the quicker SquidMask taking control with a flurry of fast-paced offense before a poorly timed Cephalopode Shuffle dance gives Dollar the opportunity to drop him with a Whipcrack roundhouse kick! Dollar then takes control of his masked opponent with a series of strikes and slams before pointing to his elbow, and begins to climb to the top rope...but That One Move comes up empty as SquidMask rolls out of the way! Vanessa St. Croix gets up on the apron to advise her client but Dollar assures her he has everything under control. He turns around to be greeted by a plume of black ink spewed by The Brawler From The Brine, but Dollar ducks and Vanessa gets a face full, she has been Ink'd! A regretful SquidMask is immediately concerned by his mistake, his attention on the downed manager rather than his in-ring adversary, which allows Dollar to spin him around and hoist him up for The Silver Dollar and the three count!

    WINNER: JOHNNY DOLLAR BY PINFALL

Dollar rolls out of the ring to check on Vanessa, shouting at the ring crew to bring some water and towels as he helps her up the ramp.

    ----

Cutting backstage, we see the rumpled face of Rex King looking on with disgust at what he's just witnessed! But as Dollar and Ms. St. Croix enter the backstage area, we find out the reason is not what we might expect as King approaches Dollar to offer critique on the cutter variation he used to win the match! A perplexed and irritated Dollar shoves “The One True” King and his move-related pointers away as he helps Vanessa towards the trainer's room for medical attention.

Along the way they run into St. Croix's other client, Cypher, who is enraged about her condition! Dollar assures him he'll tend to her as Cypher turns his attention to the downcast SquidMask who has just come through the curtains! Cypher makes a beeline for the masked wrestler and immediately headbutts him! He then begins to assault the him as some of the other wrestlers shout encouragement while others attempt to break up the brawl. Cypher then takes hold of the battered SquidMask and heaves him over with a T-Bone suplex! Unfortunately he throws him right into his opponent for the evening, Dreg Voderoy, and the two goes crashing through a set piece! Cypher stomps off for his match as a furious Voderoy climbs from beneath the wreckage, eager to follow!

    ----

    CYPHER vs. DREG VODEROY

Before Cypher is even halfway to the ring, Dreg comes barreling in from behind to attack him! The brawl is on! The two men exchange blows around the ringside area as the ref desperately tries to get the action into the ring so the match can begin! His commands are soon silenced as an errant Discus Elbow from Voderoy sends him sprawling to the floor! The fight continues as additional referees rush out and try to corral the two bruisers but soon they both begin taking shots at the officials so they can return to each other! A referee climbs onto the back of Voderoy who shakes him off and Tiger Bombs him through the announce table! Cypher pulls a chair from beneath the ring and drives it into the gut and back of his attempted restrainers! He looks to swing it at Voderoy but it met with a tackle that drives him through the barricade! The chaos is interrupted by BPW owner, Don Piano! Piano admits he can appreciate their fire and knows violence courses through the veins of this business but he cannot stand by while they direct it at his officials and drive his first episode off the rails! He declares the match a No Contest, that neither man has qualified for the Championship Ladder Match, and that while they are welcome to continue this fight, he's respectfully asking them to “take it outside”.

    WINNER: NO CONTEST

Piano watches from the stage as the two men gather their wits about them...only to immediately lay into each other again! Piano waves and a dozen security officers hurry down to shepherd the fight towards the exit.

    ----

RIP vs. SCOTTY “BANG BANG” CHANG

During the two men's entrances, it is pointed out that an upper box in the Ballroom is now occupied by what appear to be the men from the video earlier in the night! Eight men clad in white suits and ties with solid black masks over their heads sit in a row, behind them stands a handsome man, his own suit entirely black. Once the two competitors are in the ring, they both take a moment to gaze up at the box's unusual occupants. Rip even bellows about the video before flipping them the bird!

Scotty starts things out with a barrage of trash talk until Rip reminds him he's not talking into a headset in his mom's basement and drops him with a right hand! From there it's all Rip as the grizzled vet takes the inexperienced rookie under the learning tree, methodically tossing him around the ring at a leisurely pace. Chang briefly seems like he might make a comeback as he scores a basement dropkick to the braced knee of The Hardcore Legend. He takes the big man over with a hurricanrana and proceeds to celebrate as though he's already won the match! As Scotty salute sthe crowd from the second turnbuckle, Ripper waistlocks him from behind and delivers a German suplex! The Old Man doesn't let up, keeping his hands clasped, and delivers two more. He then pulls Chang up off the mat to deliver the Pendulum and secures the victory!

    WINNER: RIP BY PINFALL

Rip wastes no time celebrating as he again turns his attention to the box where the handsome stranger now holds up an alarm clock, the words “tick tock” can be read on his lips. Rip beckons him to come down to the ring but the man only continues to point at the clock.

    ----

A light flickers onto a projector screen. The clicks and clacks of the machine start with the frames syncing up after a few moments.

    …3…

    ..2..

    .1.

A filtered roar goes through the arena on the screen. Names all too familiar, but gone too soon are spliced together.
…The four boys of Catch-22 are celebrating in the ring after yet another victory…
…The Brothers McCoy stand outside the ring while Travis runs his mouth…
…Caito handing an all too familiar weapon to his uneasy all, Rip…
…Grey hitting Faded Glory on The Wizard…
…mth twisting his head to the side above a downed foe…
…Bloodied Fox and Shirt Ninja teaming up in XRF…
…Dick Whelan just straight up not giving a fuck…

A scratching noise can be heard behind the camera.

The next few images appear across the screen in quick succession

    …T…
    …Surge…
    …Jarvis Jones…
    …Flow…
    …Impact…
    …MTR…
    …Maelstrom…
    …Alcohol…
    …Simmo “By God” Anderson…

The middle of the film strip begins to melt. Quickly the flames overtake the entire screen.
We follow the melting ash to the ground.

    Coming Soon:
    ”Matchstick” Noah Flint
    ----

REX “THE ONE TRUE” KING vs. BULLDOG BOBBY BAINES

The final qualifier of the evening delivers some of the finest wrestling of the night as King and Baines battle back and forth in an intense physical contest. King tries his best to keep the strongman grounded with a series of stretches and holds focusing on the neck but the musclebound Bulldog repeatedly powers his way out only to be brought back down by the persistent technician every time he begins to mount a comeback. Eventually a big back elbow from Baines sends King staggering back, allowing the Chicago native to lift him high with an impressive delayed vertical suplex! The crowd begins to count the seconds King is suspended when His Majesty suddenly swings around and takes Baines down with the Divine Right! King takes a moment to shake off the dizziness from the suplex before rolling back to lock in the Camelock but the delay is enough for Baines to be ready and he takes hold of King's legs, gets to his feet wearing His Majesty like a backpack before dropping backwards, his full weight crashing down onto King! Bulldog scoops him up and delivers a running powerslam! He then signals to the crowd that he's ready to end this only to turn and see Johnny Dollar standing in the ring! Dollar raises a hand to halt Baines as he waits for King to find his feet then shouts in His Majesty's face, “There's nothing wrong with my goddamn cutter!” Dollar then delivers the Silver Dollar to Baines! The interference forces the ref to call for the bell and award the disqualification victory to Bulldog!

WINNER VIA DISQUALIFICATION: BULLDOG BOBBY BAINES

Dollar slips out of the ring as King realizes he's been screwed. A grinning Dollar shouts from the ramp about how the Silver Dollar's a perfect beauty who always gets the job done as a deservedly miffed King hollers back at him about this blatant injustice.

    ----

The premiere episode of BPW comes to close as the camera pans upward and zooms in on the BPW Championship hanging high among the chandeliers as the announcers review the winners moving on to the next episode's thrilling ladder match: Dominic Dust, Kris Destiny, Johnny Dollar, Rip, and Bobby Baines!

** Video released on Cypher's Twitter**

Short and simple. SquidMask, you piss poor variation of Shark Boy, you made a enemy out of me tonight! You don't even belong here. I'm going to send you back to Osaka Seafood Concern with your squid sac in your hands, courtesy of one Ms. Vanessa St. Croix.

Don Piano. Be a suit and sit in your office far, FAR away from me good sir. Owner or not, people who get in my way get hurt.

Then on to you, Dreg. You attack me from behind? OK. That made me mad. You cost me my money bonus if I made it to the Ladder match. That made my blood boil. People that mess with my money don't have a chance to mess with anything anymore. You don't know pain yet, boy, but you will.

    It's Time to Come Home

The church bell tolls at the midnight hour, you are in the presence of Dominic "The Diamond" Dust, the atmosphere is still and quiet.

Thank you for you're generosity, you have been too kind with you're admiration of the one and only Diamond. This time I would like to say I'm back and bigger than ever but something happened after the last time we met, I came out to the last promotion of the R-Feds and I said my goodbyes, my farewells.

Dominic begins to wipe a tear from his eye.

You ignored my efforts, you ignored my fight of survival and now here we are a world that has no clear future, a world which the dinosaurs want back, a world which the young are being forced out of civilisation.

    I tried...I really did try.

Dominic reaches into his pocket pulling out a father's day card from his son.

"To Daddy I hope to see you soon, I and mummy miss you, I can't wait to ride on that choo. choo train again soon. Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star Daddy Love you."
Dominic quickly tears up the card and tosses the remnants into the air.

This was never meant to be a happy forever after story, this was always going to be this way let's face it I'm not the happy family man, I'm here to live for myself, to be "The Diamond".

The pure that's what I am and that's whom I shall ever be.

I went home I kissed my wife and I kissed my child and sung him twinkle, twinkle little star every night. I was never his Diamond in the sky, which was just a fantasy but I do not want any more lies, I don't want that life I want my own life, I want to be The Diamond I should have always been...

I never claimed I was coming in to tell a story, I never claimed I was a veteran nor did I claim I was coming in with fresh new eyes, I'm here to be pure, I'm here to be "The Diamond" and that's something nobody will ever understand. I will do whatever it takes, whatever bridge I have to cross to be the greatest, to be the damn purest of you all and that's something yes that you will have to deal with.

I am not the happy family man, I will never be that entity and I shall never forgive you for not taking me seriously. You have my word that this time is different and this time it's personal.

Dominic see's his home in the distance he smiles and looks into the camera.

It's time to go home, it's time to make sure you understand what "The Diamond" is truly about.

Dominic turns around and walks in the opposite direction of the house.
It's time to come home. It's time to make you all pay and I will make sure you regret the day Dominic "The Diamond" Dust went unnoticed, I will make you pay for everything....And yes you may bet on that, so please take notice now, as you have been warned!

    Fade To Darkness.

THE TIME HAS COME TO FEAR THE UNKNOWN THE DIAMOND'S TIME HAS COME TO MAKE SURE YOU PAY ATTENTION, TO LISTEN TO THE WORDS THAT HAVE BEEN SPOKEN. YOU DON'T REALISE HOW LUCKY YOU ARE UNTIL IT IS SNATCHED AWAY, BELIEVE IN PURITY AND BELIEVE IN THE DIAMOND.

    BREAKING!
JONATHAN CAITO SIGNS WITH BATTLE PROJECT WRESTLING!

BPW is thrilled to announce that after successful contract negotiations, R-fed superstar Jonathan Caito has officially been signed and will be making his in-ring debut on our second episode! Though he's missed his chance to qualify for the BPW Championship ladder match, there's no doubt this dangerous and talented competitor is coming with intentions that should put the entire BPW roster on notice!

    NAME: Jonathan Caito

    HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6' 2" 218lbs

APPEARANCE: Athletic build, muscles where they should be. Currently with shortish hair. Wrestles in tights. Several tattoos, including "Temet Nosce" on his upper back, and a sleeve featuring roses and mandalas on his right arm (covering scars from having barbed wire wrapped around his right arm more than once) and the word "Believe" on the inside of his left forearm.

    FROM: Providence, Rhode Island

WRESTLING STYLE: Technical, with some moments of high flying sparingly thrown in. Benoit would prob be best comparison.

FINISHER(S): Anaconda Vise, Last Stand - (Crucifix powerbomb start into a DDT)

FAVORITE MOVES: Chops, Suplexes, (he's a technical kind of guy) Cradle Shock is a fav move as well

CHARACTER: Vet of the R-Feds, he has been the whole spectrum, from the barbed wire loving, almost sadist type who will wrap barbed wire around a woman's neck to choke her kind of heel, to the man that the audience respects because of his work ethic and his ability kind of face.

BIO: To make a long story, much, much shorter.... Caito is a vet of the R-Feds. He started out as a means to let out anger and aggression and won a title quickly in his second appearance. Eventually, he began to consider his place and his career in the Feds, looking for a World Title to truly cement his legacy, however, the few championship matches that he was placed in did not come with the results he wanted. He has had feuds and run ins with numerous figures thru ought his career, all a who's who in the latter history of the R-Feds. And he has been successful, coming out on top of them more often than not. He has a friendship with Rip, that extended behind the scenes more than most audiences heard about. He has always been a dangerous competitor.

He has seen it all, and very nearly done it all.

A new video has been posted to BPW social media...

BPW's backstage interviewer, Ami Matsumoto, is standing by with a slump-shouldered SquidMask:

"BPW fans, I'm here with SquidMask and before we get started, I'd like to start off by saying Osaka Seafood Concern's Squid Balls are a delicious treat that I can enjoy anytime, anywhere, thanks to their new resealable package!"

SquidMask gives a half-hearted thumbs up but keeps his head lowered.

"Now, SquidMask, on the first episode of Battle Project Wrestling, we saw you deliver your blinding surprise not to your intended target, Johnny Dollar, but to his unsuspecting manager who was standing on the apron, Vanessa St. Croix!"

    *sad bubbly noises*

"It was clear this was an accident and that you immediately felt remorse for your actions however this did not spare you from the wrath of her other client, the ferocious Cypher!"

    *bubbly sigh...*

"And because of this, you will now face Cypher in the ring on our second episode..."

    *concerned bubbly sounds*

"Indeed. If the intensity of the fight between Cypher and Dreg Voderoy is any indication, you're in for quite the challenge. And as their fight seemed to lack a conclusion, are you worried that it might continue when you're in there with Cypher?"

    SquidMask looks around nervously.

    *BUBBLY NOISES!*

"It's ok, calm down, we're safe here! But that seems like a resounding 'yes'..."

    *BUBBLY APOLOGY!*

"I'm not sure apologizing to Ms. St. Croix is going to diffuse the situation. If anything, she's probably busy focusing on getting 'Dangerous' Johnny Dollar ready for the BPW Championship Ladder Match and leaving any thoughts of you in the hands of Cypher..."

    **hurk!!**

"Oh god, did you just throw up in your mouth a little..?!"

    SquidMask hastily exits the scene.

"Well, folks, it seems like SquidMask has a bit of nerves going into his match with Cypher, to say the least. Be sure to tune into our second episode to see if The Masked Mascot can get those nerves under control when he goes one-on-one with Cypher!"

Another video has appeared on BPW social media...
Ami Matsumoto sits in a chair between Headlockin' Harry and Gene Erik. Harry's sporting a studded leather jacket and knit cap. Gene, for some reason, is in his ring gear...probably because street clothes might reflect some personality.

"Ami Matsumoto here with another exclusive interview, this time with the two men who will be facing each other as well as Jonathan Caito in a triple threat on our second episode. Gentlemen, thank-"

    "Where's Jono?"

"Well, Harry, from what I've been told, Mr. Caito had other commitments at this time, so-"

"Too good for this, huh? Got a bit of a big head, does he?"

    "Well..."

"I'd be more than happy to squeeze it down to size!"

"Well, as you know, Mr. Caito's signing was a bit delayed, so it really is more a matter of scheduling than ego, so-"

"Big Head Caito! You think you're hot stuff! You think your skull won't crumple like everyone else's? Well, BUCKO, lemme tell you somethin' right now! Big Head Caito's gonna be Crushed Cranium Caito when he gets in the ring with Headlockin' Harry, I promise you that!"

Harry leaps up from his seat, tearing off his jacket, and begins to snarl and pantomime his signature move.

"Now, Harry, let's not forget the third man in this match, Gene Erik..."

    "Who..?

"He's right here on my left...?"

"Ah, sorry, pally, didn't notice you there. Not really an attention grabber, are ya? Welp, I'm sizing up your noggin and lemme just go ahead and..."

Harry pounces, snaring his arms around the head of Gene Erik! Ami quickly exits to a safe distance.

"Ya see this, Big Head Caito?! Ya got time to take a look? Tear yourself away from your important R-Fed Superstar business to see what ol' Headlockin' Harry has in store?"

Gene is now frantically tapping out.

"Yeah! Yeah, you see that, Big Head Caito? You hear that? That's uh...ol' whussissname here...Beige McPlainface...tappin' out! And I got one of these with your name on it! Big debut of Big Head Caito's gonna be Harry's time to shine!"

Harry releases the hold and drops Gene to the floor.

"Here's a tip, Big Head Caito: buy the biggest bottle of Tylenol you can find. As big as your head. 'Cuz Headlockin' Harry's comin' to make pulp outta that fat melon of yours!"

With that, Harry grabs his jacket and steps over Gene to exit the scene. Ami hesitantly steps back in front of the camera.

"Well, uh, sorry about that, Gene, is there anything you'd like to say...?"

    "..."

"Well, folks, the triple threat comes to you on our second episode! Jonathan Caito debuts against poor Gene Erik here as well as The Skull Squeezer himself, Headlockin' Harry! You don't want to miss it!"

The coffee house is quiet, only three customers and one waitress, it’s probably the weather, damp, rainy and unseasonably cold. Or the fact it’s 3 am.

    Yeah, it’s probably the time.

One customer sits apart, head down on the table, from his clothes you’d assume he was living rough, another statistic in a broken world. But you never know, not really.

The other two sit together, one well dressed, on a budget, the other wearing a dark blue hoodie and black cargo pants, one slight the other massive, short but almost impossibly broad.

The larger one has an unlit cigar in his lips, the waitress thought about mentioning it, but considering the fact it’s unlit and she’s not paid enough to antagonise someone the size of a vw beetle she decided to let it slide.

A brown cardboard box rests on the countertop by the larger man, on one side is an air freight label.

Nervously the smaller man clears his throat.

‘So, am I ok to ask you some questions Mr.., erm Mr Ripper, Mr Rip?’

The Old Man chuckles, a low rumble that fills the room, the third customer never stirs.

    Rip will do son.

The reporter smiles, somewhat put at ease by the good humour of his companion.

‘Right, so if you don’t mind me asking, why do you think you will become the first BPW Champion and what are your thoughts on your opposition?’

The cigar makes a slow orbit, subconsciously the big man reaches for an ashtray that hasn’t been there fur over a decade.

Why me? Why not me son? There’s a million reasons why I guess, I’ve earned my dues, I’ve earned my spot, overcome the odds, all the bullshit tropes these bloody companies love to play with, but hell who really gives a crap about that shit? At the end of the day any of these jokers could win the match, a ladder match is a damn lottery, all it takes is one slip and anyone can win.

    So why me? Why not?

And the other jokers? Meh, good for them I guess. One on one I’d back myself all day to beat anyone in any kind of match, but a multi man ladder match? Total lottery, so it could be anyone’s day.

‘I guess that brings me to my next question, how is your mindset and preparation affected by this being a ladder match? Do you have experience in this type of match?’

My mindset? Same as always kid, go there, kick some arse, leave, go for a beer.

I’m not a complicated man son, to old for the mind games crap and to wise to overthink it.

But as for my experience in ladder matches? I’d just point you to the old records from RSA, I invented the CLN match son, crowbars, ladders and nooses. I’m the Hardcore Legend kid, this is my damn dance and I’m pretty sure I’ve a few good boogies left in these old knees.

‘You seem to have been targeted by a mystery man and his minions. Do you have any ideas who they are or why they seem to have their eye on you?’

Could be anyone son, I’ve got more enemies than you’ve got issues, this prick with the faceless sex robots could be anyone, I’m pretty sure one or more of his little friends will show up and find a way to cost me the title, Christ son do you even know how many times I’ve been screwed out of a title?

Nah son I’ve no idea who he is, and frankly I couldn’t give a tin shit, he’ll send his little love muffins along to piss me off for a while then eventually when he figures I’m worn down, or he runs out of batteries for them, he’ll swagger his pompous arse into the ring against me in some bullshit specialist match and I’ll feed the dumb f@*# his own feet.

Oh... Okay Mr, I erm mean Rip, so one last question. Any final thoughts going into BPW's second episode?’

Nope, not that you can air son.

Now if that’s all I gotta go drop off this care package the wife sent over for the boy, she hates it when she can’t get everybody in one room so now the daft sod has arrived I’ve got a load of pies, biscuits and socks to drop off for him, and I better get the damn update on the family since the last time she nagged him, a lot changes in two weeks you know.

The big man nods to the waitress, dropping a few notes on his plate to cover the cost, glances at the third customer and peels off a few more, nodding towards him as the waitress smiles, reassessing her opinion of the Brit.

With a last pat on the back for our intrepid reporter he collects his package and drifts off into the night.

The third customer seems oblivious to his good fortune.

OOC: Realize I never stated it, but Ami Matsumoto is a woman. So if you want to do a quick edit of a few key words there, @Rip...or just leave it and we can say there's another interviewer on the payroll...

The camera opens to a man sitting calmly, his eyes peering thoughtfully into the camera before him.

    Jonathan Caito...

I am, by no means, a stranger to any of you. You know my face, you know where I have been and what I have done. There is no need to reintroduce myself.

It took me a long time to make this decision. To re-enter a world where, while I am quite comfortable.... I have indeed been gone a long time.

And happy. Perfectly comfortable with stepping away from the bright lights, focusing on my business, my wife, and my daughter.

With that in mind, perhaps I should be making apologies to..... what is your name exactly? Headlocking Harry?

I apparently have have insulted Harry and Silent Bob by not being able to make an interview with my opponents. Being as that the promoters essentially did me a favor by finding a match to feature me in at late notice, they have done the two of you no such favor.

Caito leans forward in his chair, his eyes fixated on the middle of the lens, the fire behind them reminiscent of days gone by.

I am not some run of the mill Indy wrestler looking to make a splash, hoping for his big break. I am not an old, years past his prime wrestler hoping for one more magical run to cap his career in his life's twilight.

    I am Jonathan Fuckin' Caito.

I am one of the best that this industry has ever seen, and that is without me needing to be one of the more sadistic, carnal individuals to step into this squared circle.

And if you think knowing this fact, makes me have a big head, then so be it.

Silent Bob, i'll give you one thing. The smartest thing you may have done is kept your mouth shut.

    Headlockin' Harry....

You can try to squeeze my head.

I'll simply drop you on yours.

    The Funfair

A hooded figure stands, lurking behind a marquee at a funfair; a small boy is seen in the opposite direction sobbing with his teddy bear in his grasp. He begins calling out for his mother but nobody notices, nobody hears.

That's all they seem to ever do, mankind seem so easily distracted and are only able to see what is going on in front of them, and it's so easy to disregard those who cry out for help.

Dominic walks through a crowd of people. The people rush past him, pushing into him. He looks around and see's the Ferris wheel lighting up the night sky.

Everyone is so excited, everyone rushing around to have a bit of joy in their lives, it's all a bit of fun...it's all a game to them. BPW want me to play their game, the world expects me to forgive and forget. When I reached out, when I needed the world to bring me back to life.

    Where was the love?

    Where was the passion?

Where were you when I needed you most?

It wasn't me who was lost, it wasn't me who gave up on the world, it was you that gave up on me.

You see I feared that a new world would be rise up, that BPW would be created and "The Diamond" would end up coming back only to be forgotten again and that's exactly what has happened.

You try to make it better by what granting something to me that should have always been mine to begin with, dangling a bit of gold in my face isn't going to ever change the fact that you forgot me, that you lost me...and that is something you will forever have to deal with.

Dominic looks over as he see's children playing on some game stalls, throwing some darts at cards.

So they throw the darts and hit the target, they dangles some form of prize and then what?

If they win, they win what exactly?

That they finally won something in life, a sense of pride, some sort of achievement?

They more than likely though end up with some goldfish in a plastic bag, which will only live for a few days before it's floating around at the top of the fish bowl, lifeless.

Dominic walks away from the funfair with a teddy bear in his grasp.

Something always get's forgotten about, someone always loses something they find dear in their hearts.

We are here for one reason and one reason only to live...

The game has begun now though, the game has truly begun. You want me to have fun, you want me to play this little game BPW, and then that's exactly what I intend to do. You will never forget "The Diamond" again I can ensure you that.

So come, I want to see if you can try you're damndest to throw a dart at this card.

Dominic throws the teddy bear to the ground and leaves it behind in a puddle of mud with a dart sticking in its back.

THE DIAMOND HAS TRULY BEGUN TO TELL THE STORY, THE STORY IS UNFOLDING AND YES YOU ARE NOW IN THE WORLD OF THE PROCLAIMER OF PROPHECY. THE BEARER OF THE DIAMOND IS FAR MORE LOST THAN COULD EVER BE IMAGINED. YOU WANT THESE GAMES TO BE PLAYED, THEN HE WILL PLAY THEM, AND THEN YOU SHALL ALL BE DEALT WITH...FAREWELL FOR NOW.

    Welcome To the Party

There's a knock at Dominic's apartment door in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dominic proceeds to walk over, he opens the door to be greeted by Ami Matsumoto and a BPW Cameraman.

Congratulations on qualifying for the BPW Championship Ladder Match! In advance of the match, we'd appreciate it if you would sit down with us to answer a few questions; we want to know the real Dominic Dust. We want to know what makes Dominic Dust tick!

Dominic moves over so they can pass him, not saying a single word. They proceed to sit on the sofa and look towards Dominic who slams the door shut behind them. He then walks over to the fireplace and looks at the picture of his son.

So Mr. Dust let's get straight to it.

Why do you think you will become the first BPW Champion and what are your thoughts on your opposition?

My thoughts you're asking about my thoughts? My thoughts are none of your concern.

Please Mr. Dust we need you to answer the questions. What are your thoughts about your opponents going into this very important match?

Why does it matter? Who cares? They forgot me and I have forgotten them. Listen lady it just goes to show you have forgotten me, you come in make yourself comfy and then you feel like you can just ask me whatever questions you want. You may need to talk to me but I don't need to talk to you, now if you'll excuse me I have more important things to attend, like my son's birthday party. I'm sure there'll be a clown there why don't you join I'm sure you'll fit right in.

Please Mr. Dust, this will only take a few moments.

Dominic turns around and faces Ami with a grimace look on his face.

Do you have children Ami? Do you love them Ami?

Ami looks confused and shakes her head.

Please, I need to ask these questions that's my job.

Dominic turns back to the fireplace and looks at the photograph again.

Let's start again Mr. Dust; I'm sorry we got off to a bad start...

What are your thoughts about your opponents going into this match?

Dominic sits down opposite joining them as he pours himself a glass of wine.

So there's a bit of gold dangling from the ceiling and some children are trying to grab it and pull it down? Whom ever get's to pull it down is the best in the world am I correct? Good luck to you kids, I really hope when you do eventually win that prize people remember you for it.

I'm sure though many of you want to see the old grandfather clock win it right? I'm sure you'd love that, just remember the old grandfather clock sometimes needs a lot of dusting though, the clock isn't as grand as it once was, the tick begins to slow, the chime begins to quieten and all you're left with is some old rustic antique gathering dust, forgotten about...

How is your mindset and preparation affected by this being a ladder match? Do you have experience in this type of match?

Experience in a ladder match? I would know if someone hadn't just erased all the history from my past making me forget everything, I cried out to them! I cried out and they ruined it all. I've lost everything I've ever known, you stupid little bitch! What kind of question is that?

Wait! Yes there was that one...

I believe the last match I ever had with Dazz was a ladder match, I didn't win the contract and that's where it began...that's where they began to forget.
So if that answers your question Ami yes, yes I have experience and this time it is going to be a very different situation.

Ami looks bemused as to what Dominic just said.

Mindset you ask though now that's a better question. My mindset is to just focus on making them pay, if they want me to play these games then I shall I'll go up grab that prize bring it down rub it in everyone's faces and then I will ask them the question, the most important question of all do you remember me now? Time to take notice; it's time to step into my world so please come on in!

So that's the goal and my mind is on that gold, I am transfixed on getting what I need, you will be sorry you ever forgot Dominic "The Diamond" Dust and you may bet on that.

You have come into BPW with a chip on your shoulder, making it clear you feel overlooked and ignored. Winning the BPW Championship would certainly change that in hurry but what do you plan to do if you come up short and don't walk out with the title?

I don't feel like I've been overlooked and ignored, I have been overlooked and ignored, who got the breaking news moments? Who got the hey welcome back great to see you again? Not "The Diamond" when I was down and I had nothing, I wanted to start something round here and nobody answered the calls, nobody wanted to hear from "The Diamond", because they didn't care I was lost, because they just don't care.
If I do not walk out of BPW with that title then lady luck has let me down again, it could be the last time you see "The Diamond" in this ring, or I'll just make sure they never forget the day they came face to face with "The End of Time".

Any final thoughts going into BPW's second episode?

I need to see my son, so please if you don't mind let's wrap this thing up and see yourselves out if you aren't coming along that is? Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star BPW how I wonder what you are and please remember I'm "The Diamond" in the sky.

Thank you and goodbye for now.

Dominic grabs his hooded jacket and slings it over his shoulder as he rushes out of the room.

Thank you ladies and gentleman for joining us tonight, it's goodbye from us here in...

Dominic rushes back into the room and smashes the picture up on the fireplace. He then proceeds to the light the fire and puts his head into his hands.

Let's go for a drink BPW stooges, let's have a drink for the lost and the forgotten...

    Fade Darkness.

TWINKLE, TWINKLE, LITTLE STAR HOW I WONDER WHAT YOU ARE, UP ABOVE THE CLOUDS SO HIGH, I AM THE DIAMOND THAT CAN NEVER DIE

Ami Matsumoto sits down with Bulldog Bobby Baines:

Congratulations on qualifying for the BPW Championship Ladder Match! In advance of the match, we appreciate you sitting down with me to answer a few questions:

Why do you think you will become the first BPW Champion and what are your thoughts on your opposition?

This is something I have been preparing for for a very long time. Every work our, every set, every rep has a purpose. It doesn't matter who my opponent in the ring is because my number one opponent is always myself. I am constantly pushing to be the best version on me I can be.

How is your mindset and preparation affected by this being a ladder match? Do you have experience in this type of match?

It is no secret this match is not my forte. I prefer my feet on the ground. But the rules of the match will not change anything for me. I will focus on weakening those against me. Using my superior strength, both physically and mentally to keep them down. This will make my assent to the top a forgone conclusion.

On our premeire episode, we saw 'Dangerous' Johnny Dollar use you as an example to Rex King, hitting you with the Silver Dollar. While this must have been humiliating, it also handed you the victory. Are you grateful or resentful toward Johnny Dollar?

Let me make one thing very clear, Johnny Dollar did nothing to hand me a victory. That match was well in the bag before he decided to stick that big nose of his where it didn't belong. He will get his in due time, but right now I am focused on the prize in front of me.

Any final thoughts going into BPW's second episode?

I would love to stay and chat longer but I need to get to the weight room for another training session before the night is over.

Ami Matsumoto is sitting with Johnny Dollar at an unused side table in his family’s casino. A waitress walks by and puts a glass of champagne in front of each person.

Thank you for meeting with us Mr Dollar *Dollar nods*. First of all, can you give any information on the status of Vanessa St. Croix?
Ms St.Croix was checked out at a local E.R. and it was determined that the ink did no permanent damage to her eyes, although she has to avoid bright lights for the next few days. She’s recuperating at a safe location and will be present to see me crowned BPW champion. Squidmask is in my past now, I’ll leave him to Cypher. *grins*

Why do you think you will become the first BPW Champion and what are your thoughts on your opposition?

Well for a start, there is no-one in this company who can handle my athleticism and I have the best conditioning that the duo of money and training can buy. I also have a kind of sixth sense - I can sense an opportunity before it appears, and I anticipate there will be a lot of opportunities in a ladder match. As for my opponents, I don’t really care because all that matters if that I’ll be looking down at them, defeated internally and externally, as I raise the championship above my head as a new pinnacle in my career.

    But you’re facing four opponents-
Listen! I’m facing four guys who won matches I could have done blindfolded with one hand behind my back! Kris Destiny? ‘Mr Broadway?’ Listen up brother, go back to your agent and get an easier gig, before you seriously get hurt. Dominic Dust? The Dime-Store Dollar? Bub, you got a lotta nerve coming in stealing my gimmick…mind you I don’t go round acting like an extremist member of Fathers For Justice, and you’re banned from my family’s casino! Who are the others?

    Rip and Bulldog Bobby Baines…
So one guy who should be offering his grandkids a Werther’s original and will need a stairlift to get up the ladder and a guy who I’ve already dropped once, in a match I wasn’t even involved in! You see, nobody is at the level I’m at.

How is your mindset and preparation affected by this being a ladder match? Do you have experience in this type of match?
Ms St. Croix is preparing me as well as I could hope for. There’s a stepladder in my training ring so I’ve been timing how long it takes to get to the top. I already have amazing balance so I can stand right on the top with no problems. No match is totally without risk, so Cypher sometimes pushes the ladder while I’m at the top and I have to try and land right. It’s a useful reminder that I’ll have to beat them down and keep them down while I climb to the top. To that end Cypher has also given me some advice on using the ladder as an offensive weapon, and I have to say that it’s opened up a whole new facet of my fighting ability.

On our premiere episode, it seems Rex King was a bit ruffled by your use, or more specifically your execution, of a cutter, yours known as the Silver Dollar and attempted to offer you some pointers on improving your technique. You clearly took some offense to this and both cost King his match as well as his chance at the BPW Championship. Are you concerned King will seek retribution? And as someone whose entire approach, and therefore much of his success, revolves around that particular move, do you think 'The One True' King has any advice worth listening to?

Rex put his nose into my business, so I put mine into his! The Silver Dollar is the Best Damn Cutter in the business, the only one that ended two matches on the first show! Rex may style himself as a king, but to me he’s just a pretender. When I look in the mirror I see a King: the One, True, King of the Cutter! And buddy, if you think of interfering, remember that I have allies and I can promise you won’t walk out the ballroom unaided.

Any final thoughts going into BPW's second episode?

That title’s going to look damn fine round my waist! Now Ami, that drink in front of you cost $20. Are you going to pay with cash or card?

OOC: Happy to see the output, boys. Do you like the idea of maybe doing this Q&A thing after every episode? Tentatively planning to get Ep. 2 up this coming weekend as I have four days off from work, so I should have time to put it all together. So go nuts with your promos in the meanwhile and also don't forget to PM me if you think of any dope-ass ladder match spots you wanna do.

Also, i could have sworn @Kneeneighbor's dude was called Bobby...?

    Indeed.

We are set in the middle of Time Square. It's a busy day as usual along Broadway. We see several passers by of different backgrounds and origins.

We pan to the center of it where Kris Destiny is standing by for an interview with Ami Matsumoto who comes into the view.

Why do you think you will become the first BPW Champion and what are your thoughts on your opposition?

I am thankful and humbled to be in the place that I am right now. I have been in a height like this before and there is nothing like it whether it be on a stage or in a wrestling ring. The high that I get when I am in front of a crowd is thrilling. I would like nothing more than to represent this company and our fans as the first BPW Champion. It would be something I wouldn't take lightly and I would give everyone a champion that I hope they can be proud of.

My opponents are nothing to snicker at. When you look at each of them it is like a murder's row or a "Cell Block Tango" if you will. It's going to be a battle of monumental proportions. There are guys in this match who are bigger than me, stronger than me, and more experienced than I am as well. I do know the thing that I have more than anyone else is the determination to do what it takes to win. I am willing to put my body on the line to become champion. Just like everything else in my life I have come in as the underdog and despite many failures throughout I have learned that if you continue to fight your way back after falling then you will reach your goal. Hard work pays off and I am putting the time in and I hope everyone watching at home sees that heading into this match.

How is your mindset and preparation affected by this being a ladder match? Do you have experience in this type of match?

I have experience with ladders yes. Back when I first started in theatre I was just trying to find a way into show business, so I would serve as a painter and a carpenter and that would require knowing your way around a ladder among several other things. I have been in a few of these in my short time in the ring, and I would say that despite my lack of experience in these kind of matches that I may know more about how to utilize a ladder than anyone.

You came into BPW with a bit of a reputation as egotistical and a bit delusional but from what we've heard from you so far, it seems like you're working to dispel that and are taking a more humble and grateful approach. Care to comment on this new, more admirable attitude?

I was thick headed for a while. I had an ego and it was bad. That is something that won't get you far in the business. I went through a short period where I felt like I was on top of the world and my shit didn't stink. That is a lonely road to live on. Then I worked with some of the best in the business and they couldn't have worked harder and couldn't have been kinder to me despite my actions. They were beloved and respected. I was neither of those things and I want to become both of those, but I know I have to earn it. Nothing is given away for free, and I know that now better than anything.

Any final thoughts going into BPW's second episode?

    I can't wait.

My opponents, to you I say this... You may come in and toss me around and hit me and beat me down, but just know that I am going to come right back even stronger and faster. I am very much like this city. We have been through adversity time and time again, but together we are strong and I am going to prove that. That spotlight is going to shine bright and I am going to be the only one capable of basking in it's glow. It's time to bring Broadway to a bigger stage.

    and scene....

Destiny walks away very abruptly as Ami is not sure how to react. She turns to the camera and says cut as we go to black abruptly.

    Don't You Forget About Me

Dominic walks over to the jukebox in the bar and chooses to play a song.

Pretty apt I think you'd agree, but that's exactly what you have gone and done, you have gone and forgotten about me and it just goes to show how much you have forgotten me, not even some joker proclaiming himself as "Dangerous" has any idea that in fact he's the one that stole my identity, I've been in this game long enough...I mean seriously who the hell do you think you are, you may own something but that don't make you no bright shining "Diamond" you have a few dollars here and there but listen and listen to me carefully, you are not worthy of my time but thanks for having a little rant, bet it made you feel real special, warm and fuzzy inside...

Next time you decide to have one of you're little funny pops at someone make sure it's the right person because yeah I've been there played that game, played all the games that could ever be played and you're not even in my league, you're not worth my time but prove me wrong, prove me wrong when we face off in this ladder match, show me how you intend to cut through "The Diamond" I really look forward to seeing you try and best "The Diamond Standard", but like I said I'll see you in the ring, I'll see you trying to climb for the little shiny belt, reaching for the stars only to come crumbling down and then what? Have you asked yourself what you would do if you were to lose the biggest game you have yet to play?

Dominic walks to the bar and buys a bottle of champagne.

Time to celebrate ladies and gentleman, time to celebrate the world remembering "The Diamond" and I mean this with the sincerest of words they better remember me. By the time I'm done playing this next game...you shall never forget Dominic "The Diamond" Dust again. So BPW universe you want to see these kids spew out words, trying to proclaim themselves as the next diamond. I'd think very carefully as you haven't seen "dangerous" yet.

Dominic sips the champagne then throws the bottle to the ground and storms out.

The song continues playing as we fade to darkness.

OOC Update: 1/3 of Ep. 2 is written, just gotta bang together the triple threat and the ladder match (which would be easier if more than one person had sent me some spot ideas). Will probably finish up tomorrow or Tuesday, so if you want to pop up anything last minute to convince me you should be our first champ, go for it...

    BATTLE PROJECT WRESTLING S01E02

Battle Project Wrestling's second episode kicks off with a video package promoting the BPW Championship Ladder Match to crown our first Champion. We see all footage of five men scoring their qualifying match victories as well as clips of their recent interviews heading into tonight's main event. The BPW opening follows before we head to the Piano Family Ballroom for tonight's show!

    ----

Molly Jacobs and Darius Woods welcome us to ringside and mention the electricity in the air as the BPW Championship gleams high above the ring, ready to be retrieved later on tonight. As they are discussing the main event, they suddenly are being told there is commotion backstage! It sounds like the fight between Cypher and Dreg Voderoy from last week has kicked back up already tonight! After a few seconds a camera is able to find the brawl as we see the two bruisers still slugging it out as if they came right back in the door after being escorted out on our first episode! Vanessa St. Croix, standing a safe distance away, shouts to her client that they don't have time for this and reminds him of tonight's business with SquidMask and Dollar's chance at the Championship. Eventually officials and security are able to pull the two men apart and seems as though order is restored.

    ----

We return to the ring as the music of The 8-Bit Player, Scotty “Bang Bang” Chang hits the speakers. The young video game enthusiast makes his way to the ring and greets the fans. He says he may not have won on the first episode of BPW but that's ok because he was already a winner before he had his first match in BPW, because he attended E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, and now he can give us his full report! Eager to start things off discussing Mortal Kombat 11, Scotty is suddenly interrupted as we once again need to cut to the commotion backstage! Downed refs and security are sprawled on the floor as Cypher and Dreg are once again throwing hands! Vanessa St. Croix has thrown up her own hands in exasperation and left the scene! The two crash through a variety of backstage equipment while in the ring, Scotty grows increasingly frustrated at losing out on time for his report. He determinedly heads up the ramp and soon we see him emerge through the curtain where the brawl is taking place. He snatches up a steel folding chair and rushes towards the two...only for the two of them to side step and send him crashing not only into the very chair he's holding but into a brick wall, as well!
Before the two wild-eyed warriors can return to their fight, Don Piano steps into the scene! He reminds them of what he said last week and informs Cypher he has more important business to attend to in the ring as his match with SquidMask is right now! Cypher turns to go only to suddenly whirl around and blast Dreg with brass knuckles! Who Spiked The Punch?! Voderoy collapses into some boxes as Piano sternly commands Cypher to get to the ring!

    ----

    CYPHER vs. SQUIDMASK

To say SquidMask's walk to the ring is reluctant would be an understatement. The referee has to extend a hand to help the trembling grappler into the ring and The Masked Mascot refuses to let go of it once he's in! Finally the ref threatens SquidMask with a DQ if he doesn't let go and Cypher makes his entrance looking eager to make this quick. Before the bell even rings, he's double-legged SquidMask to the mat! A barrage of right hands leaves the masked wrestler crawling and sputtering on the mat only for Cypher to hoist him over with a dead-lift German suplex! A massive lariat follows it up, turning SquidMask into sushi! Cypher drags his lifeless opponent towards the corner to drive a shoulder repeated into his gut before tapping his skull to signal it's time for Brainstew! But just as he's getting SquidMask into position, the crowd erupts as Dreg Volderoy, still rubbing his jaw, appears at the top of the ramp! Cypher can't help but be distracted and the upside-down SquidMask somehow musters his last ounce of wits and strength to wrap his legs around his neck and snap him down to the mat with a pinning hurricanrana! Cypher bursts free at two and drives a knee into the midsection as Dreg is now at ringside! Cypher hoists SquidMask up for what looks like a vertical suplex but suddenly takes a few steps and heaves him over the ropes onto Voderoy! As Dreg crawls out from under the masked wrestler and gets to his feet, Cypher comes through the ropes with a suicide dive! But Dreg sidesteps and he crashes into the barricade! Dreg then prepares the steel stairs for something wicked while eying both men. The referee orders him to “get outta here!” only for Dreg to grab hold of SquidMask and deliver a Tiger Bomb onto the steel steps! The ref calls for the DQ!

    WINNER BY DISQUALIFICATION: SQUIDMASK

Just as Dreg starts to smile about his screwjob, he's blinded by The Mist from Cypher! Dreg paws at his now green face before another shot with the brass knuckles follows, sending him crumpling over the barricade! Cypher's temporary satisfaction allows Vanessa St. Croix to appear and successfully beckon him backstage as medics rush into check on SquidMask and Voderoy.

    ----

The projector screen spins its motor, and a bright light fills the projector screen.

    …3…

    …2…

    …1…

Let’s go back to the glory days.

The screen remains black for a moment. The chicken scratch writing comes across, displaying the name of forming Rajah Federations.

    …RWA…
    …RVW…
    …XRF…
    …ICW…
    …RWF…

Eventually the entire screen is filled up with abbreviations, to the point where the entire screen is white, aside from a few stray unscratched parts of the film strips.
Canned booing noises fill the room, as various clips of R-Feds gone by play on a loop.
A young man steps in front of the projector screen. He is wearing a pair of black pants and a black tank top. His mid-length blonde hair moves slightly from the fan on the projector screen.

    My name is Noah Flint.
When I was a kid, I loved watching anything and everything Rajah Wrestling.
It was my dream to one day join a development league,
Get called up to a major promotion,
    Make a name for myself,
    And make history.

He pauses for a moment. Noah looks directly into the camera, and takes a deep breath.

    Then came silence.
    Everything just stopped.
Once every few years, a fed would pick up and fall apart within three or four shows.
    Taking my dreams with it.

Now we have a chance to evolve.
To take the remaining genomes of the R-Feds,
    And make it something beautiful.
    We have taken some heroes
    Rip and Caito
    To bring validity to BPW.
But it is missing one thing…

He strikes a match, and walks out of frame. The center of the filmstrip begins to melt, and the bright light on the projector shows:

    Next Week: The Matchstick Strikes
    ----

Ami Matsumoto interviews Vanessa St. Croix backstage. Ms. St. Croix is eager to keep it brief as she's busy preparing Johnny Dollar for the main event. She hopes both SquidMask and Dreg Voderoy are on the other side of their lessons and will no longer require the attention of her or her client. She also reminds Rex King, “sitting on his throne...well, his couch...at home”, that if he wants to see what a true top-notch cutter, a Championship-calibre cutter, looks like, he need only watch the soon-to-be first BPW Champion, 'Dangerous' Johnny Dollar, who will be happy to demonstrate on his four opponents in tonight's main event!

    ----

JONATHAN CAITO vs. HEADLOCKIN' HARRY vs. GENE ERIK

There may be three wrestlers in this match but all the eyes of the Ballroom crowd are on Caito as he makes his in-ring debut! One might have expected Gene Erik to look for revenge on Headlockin' Harry for making an example out of him during their interview but he doesn't because that'd be interesting and he's not. As much as this should be an every man for himself situation, it very quickly becomes two-on-one as Erik and Harry find themselves forced to work together against the far more experienced and skilled Caito. The two are able to throw a headlock (Harry) or some other basic move (Erik) on occasion but this match is primarily Caito laying into them both with chops, snapping them to the mat with suplexes (as well as onto each other's prone bodies), and generally tearing into the pair as they desperately try to fight from beneath with their limited abilities, even combined. Eventually Caito drops Gene with a Cradle Shock off the second rope! Harry looks to capitalize as Jono goes for the pin by grabbing hold of his head and locking in his trusty headlock finisher! Caito back suplexes his way out before hoisting Harry high and dropping him on the dome with the Last Stand to get the pinfall victory!

    WINNER BY PINFALL: JONATHAN CAITO

Caito celebrates his win to the delight of the crowd as our commentary team underline that he has arrived and will no doubt be seeking superior competition going forward...but whom?

    ----

    Episode 6.
    MIDWAY MADNESS.
This won't be fun and games...
    ----

The lights dim as a spotlight shines down from above to illuminate the Battle Project Wrestling Championship hanging above the ring. It's not only time for our main event but it's also time to crown the first ever BPW Champion! A final hype video plays featuring the five men in the match training and further snippets from their recent interviews before we cut back to a close-up of the gold.

    ----

FIVE MAN LADDER MATCH FOR THE BPW CHAMPIONSHIP:
RIP vs. DOMINIC “THE DIAMOND” DUST vs. “MR. BROADWAY” KRIS DESTINY vs. “DANGEROUS JOHNNY DOLLAR vs. BULLDOG BOBBY BAINES

Dominic Dust is out first...with a microphone for some reason? He has a few points he feels compelled to make before the match gets underway: first, he wants to remind all of his opponents that they could have been spared the brutality of this match had Don Piano only listened to him and that any injuries they may sustain should be held against Piano for not simply crowning The Diamond as his inaugural champion. Second, he noticed a “glaring omission” from Noah Flint's videos, “glaring like a Diamond”. Third, he wants to make sure Johnny Dollar and Rex King are aware that even though he has not used it yet, he, too, uses a cutter and that it is, like everything associated with him, “The Diamond Standard”.

The other four competitors make their entrances without the need for pre-match speeches, some to cheers and others to less favorable reactions and the bell rings! As soon as it does, Dust finds himself on the business end of a four on one beatdown that ends with him being tossed out to the floor! With him out of the picture, the remaining four men begin to tangle with each other exchanging moves and strikes until eventually big Ripper is the first to bring a ladder into play! From there the match becomes a violent symphony as bodies and ladders collide in innovative and jaw-dropping, painful ways! Flesh meets steel as bodies are suplexed and slammed into the hardware as BPW's finest fight to reach the Championship!

After several wince-inducing moments of action, Rip T-bone suplexes Dollar into a ladder in the corner then German suplexes Destiny from halfway up the ladder in the center of the ring only to stand up and find himself on the receiving end of a shoulder tackle from Baines that sends both the big men tumbling out of the ring! Once the two find their feet and begin to tussle, Destiny, who has somehow managed to take a ladder to the top turnbuckle with him, comes soaring off and crashing down onto them!

Johnny Dollar finds himself alone in the ring and with a grin on his face begins to ascend towards the title! He's halted, however, by a hand on his ankle...a hand belonging to Rex “The One True” King! King yanks him off, catching him in midair with The Divine Right! He rolls back and locks the man who robbed him a chance at being in this match in the Camelock!
Just then, Vanessa St. Croix appears at the top of the stage and frantically orders Cypher to help him! The rugged wrestler rushes down the ramp...only to be blindsided as he reaches ringside by Dreg Voderoy! The fight is back on! Nobody is safe as the two continue their war around ringside, catching the men who are actually in the match in the fray! Soon Don Piano is forced to appear on stage, mic in hand, and he demands the two of them once again “take it outside” if they ever want to get a chance at the Championship hanging above the ring! Security corrals the fight towards the exit as a lone ladder stands tall in the empty ring.

Dominic Dust then emerges from beneath the ring where he'd been hiding since the match began! He tips a non-existent hat to Cypher and Dreg for leaving his opposition lying in their wake and begins to confidently ascend the ladder! Upon reaching the top he shouts that he'll “never be ignored again!” and reaches for the title! But the ladder is sent toppling by Rip and as Dust bounces off the ropes, he's hoisted onto the shoulders of the Tick-Tock Psychotic who delivers a horrific Pendulum that sends Dust over the ropes and crashing through a ladder that spanned from the ring to the barrier! The Old Man begins to reposition the ladder but just as he looks to start his climb, that mysterious man in a suit appears at the top of the stage, alarm clock in hand, “tick tock tick tock...boom” he mouths before hurling the clock to the steel grate beneath his feet where it shatters into pieces! Rip flips him the bird once again only to turn and find himself surrounded by the man's masked minions! Rip does his damnedest to hold off the assault but it's six on one and soon he's on the canvas! As he struggles to one knee, three of them pick up one ladder, the other three another, and Ripper ends up violently sandwiched between them, not once or twice, but three times! The handsome stranger seems pleased as his hooded thugs exit through the crowd.

Johnny Dollar tries to shake off the effects of the attack from King and begins to position a ladder. Bobby Baines soon slides into the ring and the two begin exchanging blows! Baines eventually hoists Dollar up and presses him above his head! Kris Destiny slides into the ring with a ladder of his own and Baines looks to heave Dollar onto him! But Destiny darts out from behind causing Dollar to come crashing down in a crossbody position onto the ladder! Baines and Destiny climb opposing sides of the ladder and begin to exchange punches! Destiny bounces Baines head off the steel and the big man slides down, feet to the mat. Destiny takes a few moments to collect himself and reaches for the belt! Baines grabs hold of the ladder and looks to shakes Destiny loose! Destiny's got a hold of the clip! Baines pulls the ladder from beneath him and throws it aside! Destiny is hanging from the hook! As Destiny swings above the ring, Baines tries to grab hold of his legs! This only gives Destiny that little bit of stability he needs to free one hand and unclasp the belt! Destiny, Championship in hand, comes crashing down on Baines as the first BPW Champion!

WINNER AND BATTLE PROJECT WRESTLING CHAMPION: "MR. BROADWAY" KRIS DESTINY

The banged up new Champion celebrates as replays of the match's brutal highlights are played. Destiny finally ascends the turnbuckle to hold the gold high as Episode 2 comes to a close.

The video opens with ‘Dangerous’ Johnny Dollar sitting on the ring apron in his training facility, in a penthouse of one the Vegas hotels owned by the family. He is in his ring gear, with a compression bandage round his ribs and his arms and chest are covered in bruises and welts from the ladder match. To his right is a photo of him from the event, halfway up a stepladder and looking up at the championship belt. The photo has been enlarged and is standing on an easel.

Tuesday night, Tuesday night. The night I was meant to make a mark on the world, and on BPW. Well, it made its marks on me alright *heh*. Five men beating the piss out of each other to be top dog of BPW, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Because I know what those other four men went through, and win or lose, I’m willing to bet they’re as sore as I am today because that’s what you have to do to become the best. You have to put your body and your health on the line, and if you don’t, you will be overtaken and overlooked.

But somebody decided to take matters into their own hands. Let’s look at the photo here
*gestures to his right*. As you can see, I’m alone in the ring, and climbing the ladder. Championship belt in sight, almost in reach. And that’s as far as I get. Rex King decided this was the point to get involved and screw me over.

Well Rex, I now know three things about you. Firstly, you’re a coward. Sneaking up behind me? taking me at a disadvantage? These are tactics I perfected, and in using them against me, you’ve shown yourself not just to be a coward, but also a thief! And the most important thing I learnt about you is that you’re stupid. Attacking me before I get the belt? Batter me after I win the championship, and your next match could have been for my title in the main event. Instead, we’ll probably be curtain-jerking far, far from my true position in this company, and all because of your ineptitude.

You see Rex, I don’t forgive and I don’t forget. That’s been one of the reasons for my successes over the years. I pick up a grudge, run with it, and eliminate it. So you and I WILL fight at the next event, in the ring or out. In fact, I’ve had Ms St. Croix send a contract for the next event to the office of Don Piano. Check over it next time you’re there and you’ll find that I’ve stipulated no DQ.

And Rex, if you sign that contract and step in the ring with me, I will punish you, because I am that damn dangerous.

The video fades to back with Dollar staring straight at the camera lens.
