Nothing like a virm train. Where would we be without that insight? Once we've had one days play I think the scum will rise to the top a bit more. To try and out people for lack of input before the game has started is bold though!
No one will want to give much away but there have been a couple of clues already. We've seen JP try and take the leader role which would push me towards town with him. Other than that everyone has been a bit non committal or taken shots without merit so far. Thats the nature of the game I guess, which is why I'm holding my vote for a while.

Quieter. Yeah if on, he's usually saying shit but in Rugrats but he didn't try to lead until Town fucked up.
The earlier we get rid of JP the better, it will save us a lot of anxiety.
Nothing JP does is ever without thought. We should very much keep our eye on him but he's playing like town with that first post. Over the course of the first day, it's hard to grasp though so I do understand the JP votes. The people blind voting are much more suspicious to me, we should work from the ground up.

Rip could just be having a Rip, they are known to happen. That's why I still prefer my vote on Pablo, whose three posts reek of scum and if does flip red would solidify my stance on Rip. Not quite. A very smart scum play would be to go at it early in a must lynch situation.
That said, that was strong move on your behalf. I'm not jumping off, but I am now thinking.
In normal games we're able to eliminate people from certain roles based on who is blocked, who shows up, who is revealed etc. That's obviously not going to happen in a game where there are no roles except vanilla.
That said, confirmed, Mazer definitely scum.
In our typical mafia yes. Because then you split votes and neither gets lynched. But with a majority lynch rule in place that play doesn’t work as smoothly.

There's going to be limited (i.e. zero) information ever day though. We have no investigative roles. We get no info at all, ever. This is purely a "read into someone's posts" game.
Having read and reread it all, I see what JP is saying. Psycho clearly talked about this being a vanilla as fuck game when he discussed it in the Mafia thread. He even says in the opening post that there's nothing but vanilla town and one scum kill action. There's not going to be any info in the write up that will help us learn anything.
So JP is basically suggesting you're having a senior moment thinking we'll garner anything useful from the write up... and your resolute refusal to acknowledge that is digging you deeper.

My thoughts are the same as last night. I think JP is doing what Psycho did last game, which is drive conversation and that's what we need. Even if we choose wrong we can look back later on the votes. I'm going to see what else happens before I vote still with plenty of time left. I still like Virm's idea on BBF because he generally lays back. I do the same though, I think thats how we both ended up on JP's first list of names.

Essentially, that first post reads all ends up like a post from somebody trying to look interested and involved, while not actually being so.
You followed it up with this;
Town reads are the safe ones to make. Your deeper read is fair, but obvious, as we found out in the last game.
Here's the funny part, in those two posts, it looks very much like you're doing what I do when scum. The town reads, the non-committal. Now, in fairness, that does change in your next post.
It's a bold move, but it's a safe move. Rip has had a bit of a dodgy looking phase, and I thought perhaps he may have been blocking for you. That would make cross scum voting smart too, for if the one of you flips the other has armour. Now, with Rip's more recent posts, I'm more inclined to say he's probably just had a poor phase, meaning this vote could be pure self defence and deflection.

Law of averages doesn't work here, as one event is a fixed point. If i flip a coin, get a heads.....my next flip is 50/50. My last event has no causal influence on my next event.
This is all very nerdy of me, but I'm not sure why we want to move off some people because of a random draw last game. With a few people getting roles each games, the odds of at least one repeat are solid.
I'm curious if we're going to see someone swoop in with 5 posts at the last minute.

I was curious to see who voted for JP or Rip (or Grim or Cewsh) right out the gate. JP's right, there are some easy targets and whilst I'm against lynching day one, usually, pushing to see who does what is interesting. We can no lynch but what's the point in these games? We won't get information from a No Lynch. We're in the same boat tomorrow, we only get info from lynches (and murders) and that means we need vote trains...

I'm gunna hold on for now.. see what people are going to do or say, lots not really involved yet. Working a half day so may go a bit quiet, will try and check in from the boring meeting day I have.
Driving conversation certainly is useful, and I like the idea of putting people under the spotlight. I'm still getting my head round the analysing posts side of things, as most previous games I've played relied more on roles and write ups.
I think it's understandable to give the newer players a pass on Day 1, but after that we deserve to be under the same scrutiny as everyone else
