the patriots have contained mobile quarterbacks well in the past. their schedule will stop being a cakewalk soon and they'll come back to earth but I still think they are an elite defense. we'll see if theyre truly all-time or not.

If Hollywood remains gimpy, I'd rather let Lamar try to beat me with accuracy and dinking and dunking on me rather than have him roam in space.

Looking forward to this Patriots team getting healthy.

Pats getting Mohamed Sanu from the Falcons for a second round pick - which at this rate, figures to be one pick above the third round.

Seems like a solid return for the Falcons given that Sanu is a 30 year old guy whose career high in yards is 838. The Pats have liked him for years now (they seem to like all Rutgers guys) so they get their guy and he's signed affordably for this year and next. A win-win, I'd say. And the Pats still have a solid slate of draft picks for 2020, even though the only picks of their own they still hold are a 1st and 3rd.

    1
    3
    3 comp-Trey Flowers
    3 comp-Trent Brown
    4 from Bears-2019 draft
    6 from Broncos-Dawson
    6 from Texans-Crossen
    6 comp (Patterson)
    6 comp (Malcom Brown)
    7 from Falcons-Richards
    7 from Eagles-Bennett
    7 from Seahawks-Hollister

I’m not going to pretend to know the cap ramifications but I think the Patriots made the wrong deal with the right team. I would’ve traded a second for Austin Hooper before Sanu, if both were available.

They might be better off trying to use whatever capital they were planning on using with him on their defense....which is hot, steaming garbage.

Andy Reid has not ruled Mahomes out for Sunday Night. In related news my girlfriend has not ruled out anal sex tonight but I do not think either are going to happen.

It's nothing personal. She probably just doesn't feel like putting on the strap on.

Sounds like it's more of a roster decision than a true season ending injury. Miraculously he seems to have avoided a knee tear when he got it bend sideways 2 weeks ago. Per reports, the Pats will release him once healthy and he will be free to sign with another team. A good chance we see him land somewhere else this season, on a contending team in need of a WR. He never looked too explosive this season, sadly, but still made some grown man catches in traffic. He is still a solid receiver but didn't return to the All Pro status he had that one year. Sucks it didn't work out here. Pats move forward with a WR core of:

    Edelman
    Sanu
    Dorsett
    Meyers (rookie)
    Harry (rookie)
    Gunner (rookie)

As expected. I'll be rooting for the Packers to take the W and knock the Chiefs down another game in the standings, though I hope Tyreek gets a long TD for the sake of my fantasy team.

Drew Brees might play but it would seem smart to sit him at home vs AZ when they seemingly should win anyway, and then let him be fully healed after their bye.

I assume with the way Bridgewater has played and a Bye next week that Brees playing means he is in fact fully healed.

That Diggs trade to Seattle is a very good move, reading and watching highlights he looks a really good safety. Definitely a position Seahawks needed to upgrade.

Packers gotta get this D figured out. If Mahomes played tonight they probably lose that game. Way to many guys wide open.

I hope so. When you said it I looked at this week's schedule to see when they're playing but then realized you meant week 14. Hopefully everyone is still healthy by then (looking at you Jimmy G). Packers at 49ers is an even sooner banger coming up in 3 weeks.

You're right but the Chiefs offense is dynamic even with Matt Moore playing adequately as a backup. Packers have a lot of room for improvement but at 7-1 they've got my Rodgers/Brady Super Bowl itch tingling.

Right, good call. So it’s between them. I guess I would give it to Minshew at the moment.

You could make a case for Murray, McLaurin and Metcalf.

Minshew for me though based on what was expected compared to results.

That's why I asked the question

I'd give it to Minshew right now but he could possibly lose it if he gets benched. Murray and McLaurin have a sneak chance, based on opportunity, to really climb up.

Big fantasy lead into tonight but he has Rudolph throwing to JuJu and the Pitt defense. 50 point lead but we give 6 for TD throws.

I wanna see ONE of the following on the Packers by EOD tomorrow:
    Robby Anderson
    OJ Howard
    Dante Pettis
    Chris Harris
    AJ Green

I don't even really care which one as long as the value is decent

It remains to be seen if Baker will get it but Kitchens is looking like he's not a guy who can build him up for success. I doubt the FO will have the guts to make the move away from Kitchens and will find an excuse to move forward as is, but that's just setting them up for more of a delay in the building up process.

In the short term, they're dangerously walking into a moment where OBJ could blow up.

If the Dolphins kept their roster we would've been a playoff team easily this season.

    Welcome to Titans football KC.

We only win the games we aren't supposed to.

Tannehill making the case to be the long term QB here. I'll admit, I was wrong about the guy.

Hope this doesn't go to OT.

    I hate ot.

And it's over. The Titans remain the only team Andy Reid hasn't beaten at least twice.

I think the Niners fortify their chances to have a stranglehold on the NFC if they win tonight. I think the Packers are borderline frauds because their defense isn't as good as they're showing they can be. Minnesota is Minnesota based on talent but I still don't trust Cousins. The Cowboys are being led by an idiot coach. I imagine the Cowboys actually miss the playoffs.

I'm very curious to see if Oakland can sneak into the playoffs. It's wide open in the AFC.

The Seahawks needed tonight, for sure, if you think they’re passing them. Niners still have Falcons and Cardinals on the schedule. The eyeball test says the Niners have a slightly favorable schedule.

I think the schedules are pretty even. Niners have at Ravens, at Saints, at Seahawks and home games against Packers and Rams. Seahawks still have at Philly, at Carolina and at Rams with home games against Vikings and Niners. I would not be shocked with the Niners lose at least 3 more games. I could even see them losing 4.

I do think the schedule for San Francisco is tough, but so is Seattle's. That's why I listed those two softer games for the Niners. I'd say the Seahawks have 1.5 soft games left. It could go to just one if the Rams figure some things out. That's doubtful but the best game the Rams have played in recent weeks against someone who was worth a damn was against Seattle in Seattle.

Yeah it's a nitpick on my part. The Niners have less "tough games" but their tough games are against the best in the NFL (Ravens, Saints, Packers, Seahawks)

I think the middle two games are the ones that I would be less concerned about. The Packers come off as fraudulent to me defensively and they're not great against the run. You can make a case that Brees will have to run for his life against them. The Ravens game will be very interesting to see.

Bengals are 100% getting the #1 pick in the 2020 draft. I hope they select Burrows or Herbert.

I still think Miami, in the top 5, could land Tua.

We've seen the college game make guys look far better than they are before.

That razor sharp accuracy may have more to do with his receivers being far more open than anyone else's. His mobility may get him killed and he plays with a ton of future NFL players who certainly have to make him look somewhat better than he is.

One thing I will point out though is his ability to read a defense. Granted it's at a basic college level but he clearly figures out his reads faster than most anyone else. That ability of his to quickly figure out his options is the most impressive thing about the guy to me.

AFC wildcard is going to be a jumbled mess, I think. You have the Raiders, Colts, Steelers, Titans, Jags, and Bills fighting for the two spots. I know the Bills are in the driver's seat for one of them but they have a very hard schedule down the stretch with at the Cowboys, home against the Ravens, at Steelers (could decide one of the spots), and at the Pats. They could easily go 1-3 in those games, if not 0-4

I'd somewhat agree. A lot of these teams play each other so they all pretty much control their destiny. I wouldn't count out the Titans though. They have new life after beating the Chiefs.

That's a little harsh. I would say a full season would be plenty. I see this being somewhere in the 10-16 game range. Vicious move.

There's a lot of people defending it. I didn't watch the game, but not sure what Rudolph could've done to deserve getting his head smashed.

That's assault. Could've been much worse had he used the opposite side of the helmet.

Well, Rudolph tried pretty hard to pull off Garrett's helmet first, but failed, then Garrett did the same move to him and succeeded. A rather fair play by Garrett up to that point IMO. But then swinging it into Rudolph's bare head was crazy dangerous. Like potential brain damage dangerous (although he seems fine). Can't have it.

I could see it being only 6 games but I think double digits would be appropriate.

Rudolph might deserve a game himself.

I loved Pouncy immediately defending his QB. And it is amazing to think Rudolph probably got a concussion from the thing that is supposed to protect him from them. He needs a scan to check to make sure he isn't bleeding in the brain. That was a direct hit.

I could see it being only 6 games but I think double digits would be appropriate.

Rudolph might deserve a game himself.
I haven't seen what happened before hand, but from what I understand his hand got caught in Garrett's facemask according to Aikman.

I mean, even if he did grab and twist, that doesn't really excuse an assault.

It has to be the rest of the season - if they make it only 4 or 6 games, then conceiveably he could be back for the playoffs. Though the Browns won't be making the playoffs without him.

Garrett, and the NFL, are really lucky that Rudolph does not appear to be seriously hurt. He easily could have had his head split open, and if he had, we'd be talking about criminal charges.

The Browns and Steelers face each other again, as they meet twice a year. I don't expect Garrett to be on the field the next time they face, and next year he likely won't be facing Rudolph but Big Ben will be back. But there is no doubt that this will follow Garrett for the rest of his career.

You realize Garrett hit Rudolph well after the throw and drug him to the ground even before this whole helmet pulling happened, right? The suspension should at least be 8 games. I would personally go a full season meaning 6 this year and 10 next. He acted outside of football. At least with someone like Vontez Burfict, his dirty plays happens within the game of football. this is straight assault.

And the player who pushed Rudolph in the back should get a 2 game suspension. Pouncey shouldn't get any. maybe a fine but the owners should cover it.

Personally, I think they should add lifting a player off the ground by nothing but his facemask to the NFL combine events

No flag was thrown for a late hit.

Rudolph also kicked him in the groin.

"Well after the throw" is quite the overstatement. it was less than 2 seconds after he threw the ball.

I agree it’s Lamar at this point. Too bad for Russ, he deserves one, but like Drew Brees he’s just having some bad MVP timing so far.
