The problem with these 2 is that they probably didn't think those inside their bubble thought anything they were part of could ever do wrong. AEW has now stated that Kris Statlander will not be able to compete on January 1 due to prior commitments. Riho will defend her title against Nyla Rose, Britt Baker, and Hikaru Shida in a four-way. Stantlander will face the winner the following week.

Riho makes Alexa Bliss look like Andre The Giant.
Won't lie, I still don't think Riho could beat any of those women if you gave her a machine gun and 10 guys to help her, but in a multi-woman match, I can buy her winning. Create enough action and violence around her, and Riho is small enough and quick enough that I can buy her sneaking one over on somebody before they realize it. But there's only so long they can book her like that until somebody needs to catch her and plant her in the ground like a lawn dart.

Fun six-man tag. Nothing we've never seen before, but everybody got their shit in and it was well done for what it was.
Seems like they're starting to build Kenny Omega back up into something important.
The Daily's Place setup is good. Like Fight for the Fallen, it helped create a different atmosphere than we're used to seeing. Taz was nice on commentary.
Wasn't this episode hyped as the time where Moxley was supposed to make his decision? If so, kind of lame they didn't pay that off.
Pretty entertaining women's match. I think the four-way aspect of it allowed a more all gas, no breaks approach and that definitely helped the cause.

Are we talking in general or just in terms of people nobody even the die hards that watch AEW knew about prior? I'll be honest, I can see a tiny bit of Jeff Hardy appeal that he could have but outside of that it's a little early for me to agree.
Definitely on the bandwagon of MJF. He might need work on his in-ring ability but outside of that the kid has superstar potential, even outside of AEW.
My take on AEW so far. It’s good to see Shawn Spears has gone from a jobber on WWE to a jobber with a manager that gets to work less dates in AEW. I was originally not feeling Darby Allin but he has grown on me. And MJF is crushing it. Mox is pretty much the same character as he was in WWE but he gets to work less days and enjoy life so that’s always a plus. Cody and Jericho are easily the stars of the company. The Bucks are still the Bucks. Best Friends / Orange are always entertaining. Lucha Bros are always great in the ring. Only two things I can’t really get behind is the dark order and the woman’s division. Some good talent and then some that is just cringe worthy.
MJF is good at what he does, but it's the only thing that he does.

It's not every day that not only do we get a new big promotion, but one that is so accessible on television. I mean, even NWA-TNA started out as a weekly ppv deal.
With AEW I think that aspect gets lost in the mix. Even going back to the rules....People were like "Why isn't this a DQ?" Well, that's because you're basing your rule setting on WWE's product. Imagine the wigs that were blown to bits when they watched ECW lol.
But the company has a solid core of talent that will lure people in and the more and more they keep at it the better it'll be in terms of the show. What AEW has to be careful about is having no identity. What sets them apart from WWE other than having a different cast of characters? See, with ECW they provided the more mature promos and storylines (Raven stealing Sandman's family, the bisexual love triangle that lost them 90% of their tv deals AND an upcoming ppv spot lol, etc.) plus the matches were not structured the same.
WCW, they had some very familiar faces, but they also had Cruiserweights and more of a reality-based product aside from a handful of characters, mostly found in the Dungeon of Doom.
AEW......They're definitely getting their own identity. Their vignettes look different, the atmosphere of Dynamite in terms of enthusiasm whereas you watch Raw and Smackdown and you wonder why most of the crowd even showed up lol. So once they get their own identity and establish their roster as "This is AEW" as opposed to "Well, it's AEW but then we have to give back 20 wrestlers to 4 different promotions". Like the girl who was supposed to challenge for the title but had prior commitments with another promotion. You can't book like that, imagine if Vince had to pull Charlotte because she was scheduled to appear at a Progress show...it wouldn't happen.
What he does well I think makes up for what he's lacking which in reality isn't much. His wrestling ability is good enough to get him far. Darby, again I have that Jeff Hardy vibe when I see him so I totally get the potential, but I think his style is limiting both in the ring and his look.
I'll say this, 1 of them is going to be a top player in the next 5 years if not sooner. I don't just mean AEW, I mean anywhere they go.

Yeah it definitely shows, IMHO, there is more crossover than we care to admit at times. It was also a heavily stacked show. You had a great 6-man match full of wonderful talent, you had Moxley and Jericho advertised to be on the show. NXT didn't have much to offer and when you can watch it on the Network, a show like that isn't "must see" especially when we're pretty fucking smartened up to the fact Undisputed Era is the Roman Reigns of NXT. Right?

Hangman and Kenny have really good combo moves. That was the takeaway I had from that first match. Pretty humorous to see Page drinking with fans as he walked through the crowd during the commercial.
Not surprised that the women's title match was a shit show. Why? Because they already tipped off the fact that the match wasn't worth a damn. After Statlander won the opportunity a few weeks back, Brandi came out and overshadowed the fact that a title match was set altogether. With that being the case, it makes sense (in a very stupid way) that they decided to continue that trend with the match itself being dumb and hallow.
Hilarious that MJF ended up tweeting crap about DDP in the ring during the promo. That's 2020 as hell. Probably not promising for the prospects of Butcher and Blade if DDP could take them out in relatively easy fashion lol.
SWERVE, BRO to finish the show but it worked out well and made Moxley look smart.

Daniels looked idiotic, Hangman looked like a loser, Dark Order looked like high schoolers playing a role in a class play, The Womens Title match was embarrassing, Brandi buried her own show and character, Private Party does not know how to get sympathy (gimmick is a heel gimmick), DDP's promo was boring, DDP punked out Butcher and Blade, I don't want to hear about every wrestler's Insta and Twitter, The Moxley turn was obvious and flat, the Crowd sucked, Jurassic Express vs Best Friends was mediocre - I feel Jurassic Park is missing the boat.

I had no clue at all that he was in FMW. I've seen a ton of shows and I don't even remember seeing him at all. The only reason I even know who this guy is because a few months back Jericho tagged him in a picture with Mike Awesome I believe when he was Gladiator.
