Damn self-quarantine. I forgot what day today was.

    Uh... welcome to AEW...

    And the whole deal.

    - Loved Cody/Darby - Those two have some immense chemistry. Two guys who always bring the best out of each other. Darby showing some flashes of working heel makes me excited to see him go full heel. I think he'll be a great psychotic, killer asshole. He'd be the kind of violent, sadomasochist heel that Jimmy Havoc wants to be.

    - Wardlow is fantastic. Last week he was "The Wardog", this week he's "Mr. Mayhem". Pick a nickname, "Mr. Wayrhemdog".

    - The Ambiguously Gay Best Friends vs. Superbad British Bastards was the kind of sloppy, ugly indie fun I'd expect from a match where two-fourths of the participants are indie cunts who can't work. Chuck Taylor is a Frankenstein monster with bad hair and no body who looks like he should be parking cars, not wrestling- and Jimmy Havoc is a walking puddle of crotch rot made sentient. But Trent No Last Name Given, Kip Sabian, and Penelope Ford were good enough to hold things together.

    - That Britt Baker segment was cute. Basically a retread on the first one. I'm looking forward to Britt Baker vs. Tony Schiavone in the future.

    - Shawn Spears has less direction than a broken GPS unit. Obviously, Tully Blanchard is great with him, but Tully is Corona-Compromised. So, Shawn's on his own for now and he's just "a guy" filling time.

Jericho throwing more shade at WWE.

"(Brodie Lee) Isn't some goofy Southerner or something."

Damn... that was the best possible use of Marko Stunt.

Damn, John Moxley wrestling on TV and Matt Hardy making his in-ring debut for AEW - both on free TV.

They're really not saving anything for a post-Corona world, are they?

Brandi always finds a way to get on TV.

Tonight, she found a way twice.

Fuck me, that's how you put a guy over.

That seemed like a writing a guy off TV kind of match for Dustin Rhodes.

Don't be surprised if we don't see Dustin Rhodes for a few weeks. Maybe a month or two.

Back when Archer first debuted, when he was Lance Hoyt in TNA, all that he had before he developed the personality, the gimmick, the good moveset he has now, and all that - was basically a moonsault. He got over for being a big guy who could do a half-assed moonsault and because he had a name - "Hoyt!" - that was easy to chant.

Its amazing how far he's come since then. He was a charisma vacuum and a joke of a wrestler, whose TNA "career highlights" included teaming with Jimmy Rave, being managed by Christy "WrestleCrap Used To Call Me The Tranny" Hemme, and carrying a Guitar Hero plastic guitar controller to the ring.

Yeah. Now he's the guy who basically bludgeoned Dustin Rhodes into retirement. He's come a long, long way.

Also, found out recently that "Pineapple Pete" is actually Sugar Dunkington?

I've heard that name for years, but I've never seen the guy wrestle a match. Somehow, I've never caught a show he was on.

Really good package to start the show with Allin/Cody. Spears kicking out of Cross Rhodes a couple of weeks ago put that finisher on notice and I think tonight finally sealed its fate as Allin used it, Cody used it (and Dustin used it in the main event) and none of them led to the actual finish. Creative enough finish but it looked like Allin's left shoulder was kind of up.

The second Britt gets consistently above average in the ring, she'll be one of the biggest all-around stars in AEW. She's come extremely far with her character development and delivery since her turn happened, which was around the time of the Jericho cruise.

Moxley's promo was really good. I liked how he covered a bunch of different things but it all made sense. I imagine he's a bit frustrated by not being able to really spread his wings as a champion with the empty arena shows so I'm sure he's ready to let loose.

Probably would have shaved 6-8 minutes off the main event but I thought it served its purpose in making Archer a major deal. There was good storytelling with the finish for Rhodes, but Aubrey was awfully lax with enforcing a DQ for the finish haha. The finish definitely had a Rocky IV vibe to it (minus the death, and all).

That was a really good episode. Two big matches and they both delivered. Nice of Brandi to change outfits for her second match at ringside. Almost like they were filmed on different days Marko Stunt gave a nice heartfelt promo. He's been used pretty effectively in recent weeks. Wtf was that Manitoba Melee, lol

I thought it was a great episode. It's obvious that AEW and WWE's shows are taking rating hits due to the pandemic. Having no fans present really hurts the overall product.

AEW has been putting on some really good shows. I actually love the wrestlers as fans. Brit hitting Cody with a shoe is great. I also like Brit's assistant Rebel..I assume she is an Indy girl. Archer has really impressed me. Honestly, this tournament has been great even though it has been pretty predictable. I want Jericho on commentary all the time. He has a Jesse Ventura vibe. The Bubbly Bunch has been awesome. AEW has really done a good job all things considered and it sucks it is not in front of a live crowd.

Did you catch Tony saying that Orange Cassidy was " the greatest manager in wrestling history" and then Jericho going ballistic on him? Tony backed up and says "I still stand by what I said: Orange Cassidy is ONE of the greatest mangers in wrestling..."

You mean she’s not solid already?

Britt Baker is like a few good matches in a row from being really "solid" in the ring. She needs a veteran to help put her through her paces and work with her in a feud on every show. Sort of like how Fit Finlay dragged Bobby Lashley kicking and screaming into a decent run on TV, despite Bobbo being so green he glowed in the dark. Its just, among the AEW women's roster, who's their veteran? It should've been Mercedez Martinez, but that's out. It could have been Awesome Kong, but they wasted her and then turfed her when that Nightmare Collective thing shit the bed.

So right now, Britt's there on the cusp of getting really good, but she's going to have to learn on her own because there's nobody to teach her.

I think her ring work is decent at the moment, but i think it will be solid soon. None of her matches have anything memorable in them and her matches within the first few months of Dynamite weren't the good. Her promos and the way she plays a heel are very good though.

None of her matches have anything memorable in them? I think her bleeding recently was pretty memorable (even if accidental) and they capitalised on it.

Maybe there is a slight lack of a veteran but she's really stepped it up in the ring already since going heel. She's noticeably more mean and aggressive in the ring.

    The Manitoba Melee was excellent.

Actually, the last 2 weeks, Dynamite has been excellent. 2 very good semi-final matches, Britt continuing to develop into the best heel in the company and getting the monster heels of Lee and Wardlow over nicely in amongst it.

The easy correlation is Austin from Mania with Hart. The issue, where the point loses its foundation, is that the Mania match where that moment came was really good. The Baker match, other than that spot, was not memorable.
I think her character development is considerably ahead of her in-ring work but both are trending in the right direction.

Next time, Britt should poke Cody in the eye with a high heel.

I'd love to hear Jericho's reaction on commentary to that.

Oh man, I know its just the Daily Center, but after six-months of being trapped in QT Marshall's gym in the Phantom Zone, this setup looks like fucking Wrestlemania.

Joey Janella is a Pornhub user comment made into a human being.

Joey Janella is what happens when a backyard wrestler sneaks into the locker room and nobody notices until its too late.

Joey Janella looks like the kind of guy who'd be jealous of Enzo Amore for running a Hooters.

Joey Janella is just like a proctologist - He started at the bottom and stayed there.

Joey Janella is like a proctologist's patient - He's an asshole with something wrong with him.

Joey Janella bought his tights from Joe Exotic. He didn't pay with money.

Joey Janella's dad sent him out for smokes when Joey was 10, when he got back, the house was gone.

Joey Janella developed a smoker's cough, even though he doesn't smoke. His lungs are embarrassed to be a part of him.

I don't know what it is, but i just don't like Janela. Realistically, Cody should be able to beat him in 5 minutes.

"Realistically" Cunty Nutella would be parking cars or sitting the Coronavirus out at home, watching this on TV.

Joey Janella looks like a college frat "rape room" made into a human being.

Cody looks and comports himself like a top-level athlete and an executive.

This promo didn't just miss a step. It fell down the whole staircase.

Yay! They're bringing back the picture-in-picture.

Man, everything is back tonight. Except the actual paid live audience.

God damn, I was skeptical of Kazarian. He's good, but he felt like such a random opponent for Mox. But that was pretty fantastic.

A Brandi Rhodes heel turn on Cody would be straight fire at this point.

Can you imagine if Miss Liz turned heel on Randy Savage and teamed with Jake Roberts in the WWF?

The people under the masks actually look like wrestlers and :gasp: intimidiating!

This was the first time a Dark Order attack felt truly impactful. Closer to the Nexus kind of attack. Brodie Lee's promo was a bit hit or miss, but he ended strong, and looks good in the position of controlling the lackeys. He's just gotta work on nailing the live promo a bit better.

Regardless, even though it's probably too soon for a title run, I'm much more intrigued in the direction of The Dark Order than I was a month or two ago.

That line about "somebody who wears a mask tends to stand out backstage" really doesn't work in the current climate.

Not using the big tub of guts and including Dark Order #10 was a good choice.

Jake Roberts wandering out here, wearing a Coronamask and then spending this match sitting down is really making him show his age.

So, AEW is actually doing their own empty arena pay-per-view?

Wrestlemania is Wrestlemania. Its an institution and they did some crazy, experimental shit on it to make it worth seeing.

Money In The Bank is this weekend and they're wrestling their way, The Raid style, through WWE's headquarters.

WWE has done nothing but silly gimmicks and stupid "cinematic wrestling".

This is just a traditional pay-per-view.

    Good luck with that.

I'll say this, for as much as I miss live crowds and live audience reactions, I just fucking love that everybody who can, who isn't involved in a serious angle or a feud, just looks like they've been having so much fun on these shows.

These guys know they're treading water until the world opens back up, so they're just in maintenance booking mode, and you can tell.

Wow, even though the heels went over, that was honestly a ton of fun.

Just enough of the old "fighting in a cool location" before stuff got boring or repetitive.

    I dug it.

From an aesthetic standpoint, I like how they tried to space out the wrestlers in the crowd with more room to work with. WWE has to adapt in that regard. Commentary clearly took a step back with Jericho out of the booth. I can take humor in the booth if it's good. JR trying to get some comedy in? Probably a no-go for me.

Janela clearly isn't worth a damn if he ate Cross Rhodes for the pin. That said, he had a really back and forth match with Cody.

It's going to be interesting to see how the women's division holds up going forward. If anything, the people being pushed prior to the empty-arena setup weren't that impressive (Nyla and Kris) and the ones who were pushed during the empty-arena setup were impressive (Britt and Penelope).

Very good promo by MJF. I thought they were going to fast track him to the title picture, especially based on what happened for him prior to the empty-arena phase. Meanwhile, they went with Lee for Moxley. That could be interesting but I'm still skeptical. Feels like the non-title match and the post-match segment both went a shade too long.

I feel like there's dissonance with Brandi. She seems like she's playing a face but she just looks and talks like a heel. Maybe that's just me, though. As for the stuff after the Archer match, they didn't do a really good job conveying how Cody was nowhere to be found while Brandi was pretty much a left for dead. They tried but it felt like the missed the mark with trying to cover for Cody.

I was going to say they're screwing around if Jericho/Pineapple Pete isn't happening next week so I'm glad that's happening. As for the street fight, it was pretty entertaining. I thought they did a pretty good job using all of the space they had available to them. That was an awfully convenient opportunity for a costume change for Hardy with the freezer. The driving spot with the golf cart and Guevara is going to be memed in perpetuity. Guevara took a hell of a bump by being clipped by the golf cart. It made sense for Jericho/Guevara to win because it'd seem like the story for the Inner Circle and The Elite would be over at that point. The Inner Circle is going to need their comeuppance and that'll eventually come.

It feels way too soon to have Lee challenge Moxley. I can't see a title change this early and Lee shouldn't be taking a loss, so why do it at all? Besides, the Dark Order's main feud is with SCU. They should be going at for a while before Lee sets his sights on anyone else.

I agree about Brandi. She's was acting very smug in her segment which, like you said, came off a bit heelish. And if Jake and Archer came after her, what was she planning to do? Her chair shot to MJF had barely any effect and, as we saw last night, Britt took her out easily.

Other than MJF, I didn't see anything that would be of interest for Moxley. I don't have high hopes in regards to the match itself but to me, it seems pretty straightforward that Mox would retain. A loss for Lee probably doesn't take that much steam away as long as they keep adding layers to the character or the Dark Order in general that strengthens him. Seems early for a loss but losing to the champ shouldn't kill his momentum.

You can make a case Brandi and Cody act like heels a decent amount of the time lol. Definitely more with Brandi over Cody but they've got some smugness to them in some ways.

I think there's a general problem of any interesting title contenders potentially being hurt by a loss, because almost everyone is either untested or on an uptick of momentum. So really, I guess you just strike whatever you think will give a fun match an propel some story forward. In that sense, Lee and The Dark Order can probably do a lot more with a loss or a non-finish than, say MJF could at this point.

I would've had Kazarian pin Moxley on Dynamite in a real "just got him, somehow" upset, go to leave the ring, and the Dark Order dorks swoop in and attack.

They isolate Mox and Kazarian has a chance to leave, but he and the rest of SCU help out, and they run off The Dark Order losers.

Mox gets on the mic and thanks Kaz and the guys for their help. And he congratulates Kaz on pinning him. Even though he calls it a fluke. Mox says he'll do anything Kaz and his guys want, since he owes them for saving his ass.

"Want to try and prove it was fluke, Jon?"

Daniels, Kazarian, and Sky start to argue -- they're all pitching a fit because they want to wrestle Moxley now.

Mox shuts them all up and says "I'll kick all four of your asses at once, at Double Or Nothing."

So yeah, instead of going Brodie Lee/Jon Moxley, I'd have Moxley wrestle SCU in what's ostensibly a four-way match, but what's going to wind up being, more or less, a handicap match.

You could get a few weeks of good TV out of it, too. Moxley/Sky, Moxley/Daniels, Mox and a partner vs. 2 SCU, Mox and two partners vs. All of SCU, dissension in the ranks of SCU, Mox has a chance to save the SCU from the Dark Order -- but *GASP* -- he leaves them high and dry.

There's a lot they could do to make that match interesting. And it'd be a Hell of a match, too.

Way better than some lame duck, insta-feud between Moxley and The Grand Poobah.

It's kind of a knee jerk reaction. I'm so used to WWE doing this and killing any heat a monster heel has, but then I have to remind myself this is an entirely different company. They'll find some creative way to make it all work.

You would have had a 45 year old career jobber pin your new world champion on live tv?

Pineapple Pete beating Jericho with interfence from Matt and/or Vanguard One. Or Jericho just getting cocky as fuck and being rolled up and trashing stuff in a tantrum.

Has to go down. If Jericho beats Pete clean no questions asked then fuck that cos that’s boring.

Is it too ridiculous I’m more excited for this match than anything AEW has done in the last couple of months?

Awww yeah, who's alive and who is a-livin', you can't decide, so I'll be your guide...

Live from Daly's Place, in the lovely state of Florida --- and what a state its in! --- Its time to light the fuse, flick the wick, pop a stitch, stand back and hold on to your ass. Stay six feet away from your TV screen, because its time for some curbside takeout wrestling action, courtesy of the manic miscreants over at AEW.....

--- Aww yeah! And what a killer card of Coronavirus avoiding chaos we've culled from the wrestling depths tonight. As...

    - In exciting Tag-Team Action -- "Broken" Matt Hardy and "Jazz Hands-A Plenty" Kenny Omega team up, once again, to take on the deadly duo of Proud And Powerful -- Santana and Ortiz.

    - In the most exciting Women's 4-Way this side of Pornhub Premium -- Hikaru "Follow My Instagram" Shida vs. Britt "Dentist And Shoe Enthusiast" Baker vs. Kris "I Have To Go Now, My Home Planet Needs Me" Statlander vs. Penelope "The Sable To Kip Sabian's Marco Mero" Ford -- Face off in Fatal-Fourway Women's Action.

    - In a battle of leaders, "The Exalted One" Brodie Lee takes on The leader of SCU, Christoper "Fallen Angel" Daniels in an exciting grudge match.

    - In a grudge match that has been building for weeks, The Man Formerly Known As Sugar Dunkington, now Christened Pineapple Pete, will take on "Le (Former) Champion" Chris "Judas In My Mind" Jericho in one of the most improbable matches in AEW's short history.

    - Fresh off of their destruction of QT Marshall and subsequent intimidation and dry humping of Brandi Rhodes last week, Noted Piss Drinker Jake "The Snake" Roberts and "The Murderhawk" Lance Archer will be on hand to discuss the events.

    - MJF returns to in-ring action, after a devastating series of injuries.

I never needed to know that Jake needed to watch Lance Archer beat dudes up to get a boner.

Also, holy shit is Jake's voice wrecked.

Between Chuck Taylor, Marko Cunt, and Orange Cassidy -- I'm really glad they packed all the WrestleCrap on this show into one match.

Aside from Jericho's match, this week AEW seems way too indie for me to take in. Tegan Nox is really hot.

Statlander nodding like "Go ahead and kick me" just then.

If I noticed it, anyone can.

And then Statlander almost dropped Ford on her head.

I think the only thing "alien" to this chick is having talent.

Baker gives injections as part of her day job. But Ford just hit her with the Lethal Injection.

Eh, I'd rather spend a long weekend in a hotel room with Mia Yimm than anyone on either roster.

    But that's probably just me.

Santana looks like he lost a lot of muscle. The pandemic hasn't been kind to him lol. Maybe a little bit too much of moms home cooking lol. I'm glad to see these guys back in action though

It’s funny because JR was just trying to say they looked more muscular.

Mia Yim is pretty damn sexy. I wish I could say I shared a hotel room with her.

    Ortiz cracks me up.

Ortiz is great. He’s dangerous, but he’s still goofy.

The last two dudes Ford’s been with are Joey Janela and Kip Sabian.

If either of those chuckle cucks have 4 inches between them, I owe you a beer.

Ford’s as tight as a nun.

Why even have Jericho wrestle Pineapple Pete if it's just going to be a squash. What a let down.

I haven't seen Statlander in months. She still doesn't seem ready.

I noticed she was looking down the entire time, maybe at an iPad. I honestly think they put her to work and she's helping with the production tonight.
