Honestly didn't look like a bad show on paper and from what I'm hearing it was 50/50. I thought Edge and Sting looked cool.

For all the people acting like AEW was some straight up ROH/New Japan type promotion until recently what show have you cats been watching? Almost everything with Jericho and MJF for the last couple years has been a joke for the most part. Orange Cassidy anyone? Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy, I mean the list can keep going of "WWE style" gimmicks, storylines, it's not even a WWE thing it's pro wrestling. They've been doing goofy shit since the 70's. I mean, did we all forget how Jade Cargill was introduced? The fact is, AEW tv numbers haven't really changed over the years. The live attendance is here and there.

It just feels like Dynamite has always hovered between 7-900 with the 1 mill shows here and there. I get that people watch tv differently now but when we're talking about a show that is cable driven, and if we're also factoring in DVR numbers, are AEW's numbers that good? WWE, I'll make the argument you can watch all 3 of their shows on Hulu the next day. You can DVR. You can wait a little and stream them on Peacock. I think if AEW had those same options their cable numbers would be even lower but maybe the streaming numbers would make up for it. I have to go out of my way to watch AEW's 3 main shows whereas if they were on Hulu, Max, etc. it'd be 100x easier.

IMHO, CM Punk embodies what 90% of AEW's fanbase identifies with. They don't want to be MJF or Hangman Page or Kenny Omega they want to be CM Punk. With that said, I don't think it's done as much damage as some might think but I do think now after he's been gone a few months that the loss is still noticeable. I'm just shocked the crowd doesn't chant his name like they did in the WWE after he was gone. So many AEW fans are scared they have that herd/cult mentality. Look what happens when someone says something negative about AEW it turns into a mobhit on Twitter lol.

I think about how over the years I was kind of lost interest with promotions that had a ton of belts. NWA/WCW in the 80's early 90's with shit like the US 6-Man Tag Title or whatever and they'd have the NWA Southern Pacific Champion. 2001 WWF when they had the WCW titles in the mix and even though I respect the brand split I still think some titles suffer more than others. AEW...what the hell? The roster needs it but the roster is too big anyway. That goes back to the stables. All these stables and random tag-teams and shit that doesn't really stick....idk.

Also got round to Full Gear last night. Swerve/Hangman was my MOTN. There’s been (a lot) of hardcore brutality blood and violence but this one definitely still stands out. The story considering how Swerve crossed the line invading Hangman’s house (through a conveniently unlocked door lol) probably called for Hangman to ultimately win in the end but do understand they want to give Swerve the bigger push. Probably yet another challenger for MJF down the line.

MJF/White..that’s the first time White’s been pinned since joining AEW right? I can suspend disbelief a bit I guess over his first loss being to a one-legged man because the Cole/MJF bromance is so over at the moment.

Yeah, doesn't make much sense to me. It would be one thing if instead of the NJPW Strong title, it was the International title which would mean they're potentially folding it into a new belt. But adding an extra belt altogether just doesn't make much sense to me. Even with the size of their roster.

it's a new belt to create a modern, american based triple crown. the international title has gotten too hot with the first OC reign and mox getting involved in the picture, basically catapulting past the tnt title as the second tier men's singles title. they wouldn't fold that into a title consolidation, and the tnt title has been stablized with the christian storyline, so that wasn't gonna happen either. it's likely the three titles won't be defended separately, and by all accounts will be defended amongst all three companies that are involved.

Didn't have to be specifically the international title, that was just an example. But I think the issue is more that we need less ROH titles on AEW and less oversaturation of the title lineup, both of which are compounded by making this Triple Crown Championship.

I'm still down for the tournament, and I felt the same about the International Title and it's become a worthy addition. But it still seems like they would be better suited to give the winner a title shot at one of the current ones than award a brand new prize

In all seriousness, QT seems like one of those cats who can teach. Think about the great trainers like Dr. Tom. He's helped develop some of the biggest names of all time and still trains. You think of Matt Bloom aka A-Train/Prince Albert/Giant Bernaard whatever you knew him as. Phenomenal coach. Sarah Del Ray, never even wrestled for WWE aside from maybe a few dark matches and IMO is the best female trainer in North America. Hands down. If he's really leaving I see his services at the Nightmare Factory keeping the lights on and probably will wind up at the PC. Personally IDGAF about the guy and think he's corny.

Interesting about Danielson but then again TK did say if something were to happen and he couldn't run the company he would give it to Danielson. I just think that whole Punk situation was like something out of a movie lol. But there are many wrestlers who have negative opinions and sometimes you wonder-are they just saying it for clicks and views or do they really feel that way? Is it that deep? I think for a couple wrestlers it definitely is but think about how we never really heard anyone speaking ill about him while he was in WWE. He didn't really have any issues that we knew about until after the fact and shit we've heard wrestlers bury the WWE worse, they've filed lawsuits, etc. and they come back and bury the hatchet...for now.

It's crazy how a lot of cats we see in AEW flying around were marks for these guys. Chuck Taylor was the shittiest one of them all, Gargano was even part of this crew but Akuma and Icarus were part of that OG CHIKARA group that so many people ripped off and pretended it was just some comedy HUSTLE wannabe promotion. Yeah, that was one I said I was looking forward to and it delivered. I don't know if we get to Swerve/Max or if there's a transitional champ, but Swerve should be the world champion in the near future.
Also, fully fit Top Flight vs fully fit Private Party is the match I didn't know I wanted, but when is Marq Quen going to be cleared?

Yeah, I liked that. She's probably ultimately just gonna be fed to Julia, but if they at least build it up to World's End and let Abandon be on tv doing something for a few weeks, that would be sick.


Overall I enjoyed Collision last night. Bryan/Kingston was great, and so far the whole Continental Classic has been awesome. Still iffy on it being for a new title, but they're doing their damnedest to make it seem like it matters. I think they fucked up not putting Miro in it though.

I'm torn between whether I want Golden Jets to win the tag titles to drop them to Hobbs/Takeshita for a good reign or whether I went House of Black to get it.

Also despite complaints of the WWE mention, I like what MJF is doing with the Joe feud. It was nice to see someone give him on-screen flowers like that and felt it was a necessary part of the message. Joe probably doesn't win at World's End(I assume the Devil shows up to be the ultimate usurper), but it should feel like a pretty big match.

MJF's comments about Samoa Joe were ridiculous though. For one, he was in TNA for 10 years and had 1 world title reign. He on the main roster in WWE in his 40's, injured more often than not, and MJF says "WWE should've given him a World title run" That's not giving someone their flowers that's trying to act like Joe was never even in multiple World title programs against Brock Lesnar, AJ Styles, plus his dominant run in NXT. If he beats MJF I will come back and decapitate myself lol. And did people forget they've already wrestled and Joe lost....? It was literally within the last couple months. MJF is being spread too thin because let's be honest...we're just watching wrestlers level up inside the ring but then what? Orange juice matches with Sebastian Bach Jericho?
