Yep and after they can start to build a card for Wembley

On Punk, the thing that confuses me is if the while bitch fest about the elite was a work then weres the pay off if they are being kept apart? And if its not then Punks just being a bitch for no reason and negating his whole 'I'm the good guy' ESPN Interview.

It's a catch-22. If there's no payoff, it sucks to bring it up and fan the flames. If he doesn't bring it up, you're just fully ignoring the elephant in the room.

Asked my boy about this again at the weekend and he said he actually doesn't want to go.

I thought to myself that I could get a late ticket and go alone like a loser, but if I did that, he'd change his mind and want to go.

I'm not sure if the RFF guys have purchased their tickets yet, could maybe sit with them.

Collision had a couple positives. The main event, the Punk promo was fucking incredible. Matthews/Andrade-good match but those cuck moments of doing the submission moves of Charlotte/Rhea respectively was so corny lol. Any AEW fan who says they don't watch WWE are full of shit because they're the first ones noticing those spots. I thought Wardlow losing again was stupid but he pissed someone off there's no doubt about it. How do you drop the ball that fucking hard with the guy? He SQUASHED MJF and they did nothing of worth since. ZERO.

Why do we have Elton John for the intro? And why is Tony Khan like 30-40+ years behind in music, pop culture, etc? It's like his dad never let him experience life after 1996 lol. WWE has old ass ACDC for the Smackdown intro, but at least it's a new song I guess. I'm a fan of Elton but can we get something from the last 30 years? Seriously...the songs over 50 years old. It's not even that good!

It makes me violently ill seeing the Wolfpac logo as your avatar spelled with a fucking K. Just being there annoys me but the fact you can't even find one with the right spelling. And why was Punk's promo hitting you saw hard in the va-jean? I don't even think you read his ESPN interview. But to say that promo was a bitch fest that leads nowhere is comical. This isn't a hard brand split, CM Punk and others are just the FEATURED talent on that show. You really think you won't see the TNT or Tag titles defended on Dynamite or Rampage ever again?

    AEW - everyone kicks out
But now it's Kris Statlander's finisher apparently...? I thought someone just mis-reported it but then I watched the clip and she used it again tonight.

she's been using it as a finisher for years. typically it's a full cradle tombstone where she hooks a leg under each arm. she didn't hook the legs vs anna jay the other week and only hooked one this week vs taya.

i'm visiting a friend who lives in vietnam for two weeks and i really enjoy the vibe of starting the day with a wrestling show. "tonight's" dynamite was awesome.

Yeah, I remembered her finisher being Tombstone-esque, hence thinking it was just misreported, but it seems like it's been simplified, as well. Probably makes it easier to perform but also less unique.

Is there a way to watch these events after they take place, perhaps on a streaming service? Don't feel comfortable enough to order this live for a hefty amount.

AEW doesn't have a streaming service so only way to see them is paying for the ppv and watching it live or paying for a replay.

They are using the ROH streaming service for ROH so really in theory they could basically make their own next work with all their content on it for AEW and ROH. Doing something like Max like WWE did with Peacock wouldn't be bad either as long as the PPV's get included.

google watchwrestling and a handful of sites will pop up. they typically have a handful of illegal live streams during the shows(weekly and ppv) so you can watch live, and will have an archive link to shows after the fact. it can be hit and miss as far as quality for the live streams, and you may have to switch between a few different ones as they get DMCA'd and taken down, but if you don't want to pay for an official stream, it's what ya gotta deal with.

i made a post in the forbidden door thread earlier this month about the best way to watch AEW, which i'll copy over to here:

vpn with an aew plus sub through fite gets me live access to dynamite and rampage every week, with full commentary through picture in picture ad breaks, and $20 pricing on ppv's for $7 a month. they also have every single episode of dynamite and rampage archived and available to replay. got the ppv bundle they had prior to double or nothing, so i got DON, forbidden door 2, all out and full gear for $70 total.

since i made that post, i can also add that collision is available with this, too.

    Feugo’s going. Noooo not Fuego!!!

I know he lost pretty much every match but that was part of his charm and enjoyed his sorta mini-feud with Miro. No room at the inn. I think they could’ve done more with that underdog stuff.

Statlander should not be doing that tombstone. Just in AEW alone I've seen her dump several women right on their head.

Fuego is a guy who was from the early days of AEW when they just needed bodies that apparently didn't have a spot in ROH waiting for him with the others.

Deep down Tony Khan knows he has too many people on his roster and even though he has an endless bank account, money only gets you so far in this business. There are people like Kazarian who were like, naw I'm not going to just around and collect a check. He's another guy that we just stopped seeing. He had a cool gimmick being the elite hunter, it went nowhere. There are not many from the early days of AEW (sounds weird right?) that are featured. They're still around, but what are they really doing?

I'm still trying to figure out what Wardlow did wrong.

Yeah Frankie was like if you are not really going to use me then later gator.

Some of the guys were moved to ROH but others seem to be gone as contracts run out. It was cool that he kept people and didn't cut them during covid but can't blame him for letting people go as contracts come up. Even with people being more ROH exclusive he still has plenty doing AEW and ROH. He has too many people. Then again really WWE does too. Plenty of people over there not being used either.

I don't think Wardlow did anything wrong. More of just they keep fucking up his booking.

Her vs Jade or Statlander would’ve been blockbuster but alas…

Still no clue on how we can watch All In either. Just TK saying he promises we will be able to.

Well since they've moved All Out to the United Center you have to figure Punk vs MJF is the main event of that show. Meaning MJF vs Adam Cole is the Wembley match.

I saw an episode of AEW All Access last night. It's a pretty good show, pulling the curtain back. My one gripe would be I hate that they put the wrestler's real name on the graphics. "Austin Jenkins aka Adam Cole".

Punk finally getting his win over Joe in a rando episode of tv is going to be weird though.

Yeah, Collision this week was just kinda there, though I haven't seen the main event yet. But then Roderick Strong is in it, so hardly must see TV.

Arena also looked very dark, so guessing they had issues with ticket sales.

The on screen graphics on AEW tv for what's coming up is way over the top. Never seems to end. There was a ridiculous stretch during the Dynamite main event with Omega and Yuta where Excalibur was telling us what was coming up on the next Rampage, Collision and Dynamite. Must have reeled off about 12 matches and probably needed oxygen after he was done. All the while, the match, the main event no less, is going on in the background.

Even during picture in picture, the graphics never end!

    It's a little off putting.

And agree on the MJF and Cole stuff. I too had zero interest, but this is intriguing.

I wish Adam Cole stayed in WWE, I think Triple H would have built the company around him, but can't deny he's killing it in AEW and one of the bright parts of the company.

That was a hell of a tag match on Collision. Possibly a bit overkill on the near falls, but this is AEW.

Wasn't overly impressed with Punk and Joe.

I wasn't overly impressed with the original series Punk and Joe had 20 years ago. They showed their wear and tear in this match and that ending was almost as bad as the Jade/Taya finish.

    #Hot take perhaps

I know it’s all in Owen’s memory and Martha okayed it but honestly last year and this year, the whole deal has felt completely underwhelming. Kinda feeling this would have been better left alone and maybe WWE would’ve eventually been allowed to memorialise kinda thing but I know the Martha block is difficult. Just feels cheap and doesn’t feel right in a company that Owen wasn’t even in.

If AEW really wanted to do a tournament relevant to their history, Brodie Lee tournament with Negative One presenting the tournament. This Owen deal just doesn’t feel completely right here. It’s nice but just can’t feel it.

I know it’s raising money for the foundation and maybe that’s all that matters at the end of the day but still just feels empty celebrating it here.

I think it would be nice to see a tournament in WWE or a HOF nod but it won't happen so got to go with what we can get.

This year things do feel a bit underwhelming. Not as much build and promotion of it before it started and also no qualifiers or anything so less matches. Just meh

It's because ultimately Owen Hart, to the fans who remember him, is a WWF guy. He wasn't someone who was known for his work outside the WWF like a Bryan Danielson for example. The only reason Owen and AEW are connected is because Martha Hart was offered a shit ton of money and she hates Vince. Rightfully so, I can only imagine how I would feel being in her shoes, having almost no support from the Hart family these days as even Bret helped out with the WWE Owen stuff. And Bret was right up there with Martha in his hate toward WWE if not more than Martha due to Montreal as well.

I'm curious how this is raising money. Does the winner donate their proceeds?

I think the real fans know what this really is and the rest are just going with the flow because it's not their fight.

I can't wait for MJF to think Cole is completely under his spell and try to turn on him and Cole reveals he was stringing MJF to get his title shot. At least they are doing something different with this title program. I would rather not see them win the tag titles. Just the tournament.

And looking forward to seeing Ibushi next week and Blood and Guts

Yeah i was excited even though it was pretty much a known thing that he was going to be the 5th man.

I didn't expect to see PAC as the 5th man for BCC though. I like it just didn't see that coming.

Pac feels like a good fit, too. Both in his style blending well with BCC and his history with Kenny.

I kinda figured Ibushi was probably expected for most people, but I haven't watched/read anything since Forbidden Door so it was an extra shock for me

Only hint on tv that it was Ibushi was that Kenny one week was not there and they said he was not in Canada or the US.

PAC is a good fit for sure with the history of Kenny and his style and what not fits with BCC

    I know lol. Wtf?

I can only think they were doing some sort of weird “Owen cheats/ribs deal” so have Stark do the same deal. If this is a permanent heel turn for Starks it would be f’n stupid but at the same time wouldn’t surprise me.

yeah I wonder if because that basically ran over that Starks just kind of was like I need to grab and go so we can move on. Seems like a waste for Liger to fly over and put on all of that to just get blown off

I think also Starks fucked up a bit as held onto the rope too long after the pin.

Ya gotta give credit to MJF. He's perfect at being a heel, but whenever he fakes his Babyface schtick, it fucking works so well. His whole style changes and it's brilliant. I'm looking forward to what's to come in this angle, even if it's mostly predictable.

Blood and Guts was fun. I liked a lot of the interpersonal spots. Feels like we could have got more Ibushi, and after a while it started feeling like they were kind of plodding around to the next "sick bump" and a bit less of a storied buildup. Kind of the nature of the match, though. Overall it was a fun ride, and I liked how they handled the finish.

Personally I think it's his worst angle since the Jericho feud. That song and dance bullshit they try to incorporate because MJF was a ballerina when he was a youth. I will say this...could be worse, could be whatever the hell they're doing with Daniel Garcia. Who in AEW said, "Dance like Alex Wright!" He already had go away heat with me now he's just another reason I've stopped watching AEW religiously.

There is just nothing going on in AEW right now that's appealing to me. CM Punk's back, that was cool for a couple weeks. They're about to have 70,000 fans at Wembley and the match card is going to be hideous.

Yeah not completely digging the Garcia bit but not all bad.

I am loving the Cole and MJF stuff and liking that they are at least not making it super predictable and making it entertaining as we go until we get the to the predictable end. The bits are fun and the matches have been fun.

They do need to start building to the shows though. Once Rampage airs we will have one match set for the show at Wembley.

MJF/Cole is predictable. One of them will turn on the other. Part of me thinks AEW wants to be counter culture so you watch WWE, you see Roman Reigns this ultra serious character in a serious storyline. So you have MJF come out and do some corny shit with the most overrated wrestler I've ever seen in 35+ years of watching wrestling. AEW is just all over the place. The wrong people are working together, the feuds aren't going anywhere just dragging on and on and on. How much money are we going to put on Elite v. BCC still going on after last night? Fucking nail board and thumbtacks but we probably need Omega v. Yuta for Wembley lol.

Like why is Jay White and Juice in a tag thing with FTR? Why is CM Punk doing the job to Ricky? Should be CM Punk v. Jay White going on right now.

I also heard that AEW put out this crazy list of things you can/can't do now. I was watching Dynamite thinking yeah, this is why they're going balls out on this Blood and Guts match we probably won't see much of it. Probably still see Mox bleed every day but it's better than him being a drunk.

I don't get why they'd turn Starks. His issue was failure to capitalise on momentum, not being a stale babyface. If they want to make him hed be fighting heel Punk. For me he should have been the next guy they built after he lost the ftw title, but he's been in and out and squandered like they did wardlow.

They should just turn Punk and be done with it.

I feel like they dont do heel Punk on principle, like its an admission or that they can turn the tide. However its the best way to get the ignorant to love him again. As soon as they pull the trigger, the AEW fans will turn the other way.

Its is amusing watching .... we love wrestlers that were actual pieces of shit, but hate Punk because he steps out of line or can be seen as unprofessional

Hey Temp, long no time see bud xx

You’re right, Starks wasn’t failing as a face, actually at the start of his run he was a quite hot face against MJF. I would’ve been cool with Starks winning the tourney as a straight up face but then (possibly due to time contrainsts), Liger’s appearance was completely wasted.

I think part of the problem, too, was having Starks go face and immediately feud with MJF, just because you want to see that rise in a program he'll actually win lol

The good thing is Ricky makes an excellent heel, but I also kinda felt like his promo last night was more neutral than anything. The crowd reaction definitely helped.

Yeah that was a bit early for a program. Imagine it when MJF had more time under his belt but yeah it was early.

Seems like a program better for the future when MJF had more time with the belt.

The Jericho feud sucked let's just get that out of the way. And since then what has he done? Nothing. AEW's biggest negative is almost the same as the WWE's biggest negative-it's a chore to maintain momentum because sometimes they don't know where to direct that momentum. Wardlow, Hobbs, Starks, the list goes on of talent that they have fumbled so badly it's almost comical.

I think AEW has made some notable mistakes on face turns.

    Truth.

I am not happy with the Starks turn but at the same time they were not really going anywhere with him as a face. He plays the heel well but at the same time crowd really likes him so we shall see how this goes.

The Jericho feud was definitely badly booked. He beat Jericho then made to try and go through a gauntlet to get Jericho who he already beat again.

He’s great as a heel but it’s not as though his face work was so bad he badly needed the turn. Just think it’s too early to revert him to heel as he had mileage and feuds left as a face.
He’s was only at the face act a few months or so and was gaining momentum.

Maybe it's a situation where with Collision it's a clean slate for certain talent and someone with the laptop thinks he made a better heel. @Badger I agree about that Jericho feud. It just didn't make sense. It was shot out of order like Jericho forgot oh yeah I'm not supposed to lose first lol. They could've had Ricky lose to Jericho via Magic Matt interference. Run the gauntlet and get the W on Jericho at the ppv. Instead it made Ricky look idiotic.

I wasn't really digging him as much as a heel to be honest. It was a nice introduction but it went on forever with that Team Taz shit stable. Taz needs to jump back in and save his son, Hobbs, and Starks because holy shit.....

AEW right now is feeling like a company that is going to peak at Wembley in terms of attendance but maybe they've already peaked creatively. They could peak again but I don't see it happening until they get the right people in the right spot. It is so fucking indie right now it's not even funny. I feel like I'm watching a bad experiment lol.

Starks wasn't really gaining momentum due to the stupid Jericho feud. Had he beat Punk clean and won the Owen then yeah that is something. Instead he cheated and turned. Meh.

I bet they just didn't want Punk to lose clean but didn't want him to win the Owen. So like why put him in it then. This year's Owen was a shamble.

Last year's was just as dumb. Having the real life couple win....Gross. I agree, I think they didn't want Punk to lose but shit I would've had Starks win with a small package, O'Connor roll, fuckin backslide, maybe have Jay White distract Punk.

Yeah there would have been ways to have Punk lose without Starks cheating and turning.

Last year we had more people due to qualifying matches and such. Yeah it was predictable pretty quickly who was going to win but overall it was better done last year than this year. It was just like oh we haven't done the Owen yet. Better get on it. Here is 8 men and 8 women and boom. All good meanwhile we just keep doing this other tournament over here which just being used to carry the MJF/Cole story line.

Don't get me wrong. I am loving the MJF/Cole stuff but not sure we needed a tournament to get there.

It's like AEW are jealous that the G1 is going on right now so let's have 3 meaningless tournaments going on lol. The whole Owen Hart/AEW relationship is just comical to me. It's like if TNA tried to do something like this. Zero connection to the company and it shows it's more about the money than anything as I'm sure multiple promotions have tried to work with Martha Hart relating to Owen.
