I hate the idea of a brand split in theory but honestly, Tony can NOT keep track of the size of his roster and book a weekly show in a way where tons of high potential guys don’t go missing for months at a time and lose their momentum. It might not be the worst idea.

It's not a bad idea if you actually adhere to it. That's generally been WWE's problem, that they just drop it and then it cheapens everything about the anticipation of a draft.

Let the Hardy Brothers have a farewell tag team match, against FTR at Wembley.

Dude I doubt Jeff is even allowed to leave the US. But it's Tony Khan and he'll gladly ship Jeff in a crate with a bag full of crack if it means Jeff Hardy on his tv.

I love Jeff Hardy, the Hardyz are one of the best, but I also loved Scott Hall and Taylor Hawkins.

Maybe he'll hire someone to play a look alike Jeff Hardy, sort of like the Renegade in WCW. I doubt AEW fans would know the difference, they're not too smart. They watch AEW after all.

Just joking, I love you AEW fans.

Don't get me wrong, I dig Billy Gunn being in the mix he kind of fits as he was always kind of a metrosexual type after turning into Billy Bad Ass, then Chuck, I mean all The Acclaimed are is a woke version of The Beautiful People and Cute Kip.

Arn should come out and scissor just one time. And then the lights go out and when they come back on it's Psycho Sid!

That would get me watching AEW.

As long as he fist bumps everyone in the arena, I'm down for it.

So the newest update is there is a meeting scheduled between TK, Punk, Jericho, and FTR with the idea that Punk's first feud back will be with Jericho.

Agreed. Their feud over alcohol WWE was pure dumpster fire so have absolutely no desire for them to hook up ever again especially with them both being heels.

IF (and a big if) they work things out with Punk and they wanted him heel, I’d love a feud with Darby Allin or by extension Sting.

Also this “four pillars” storyline. Where do you all see this going? A fatal four-way where they are all tied in the rankings? Individual title shots if they are all tied?

I could see a Khan thing to do if Darby eventually gets the title shot and Sting despite his words saying it’s Darby’s showtime ends up costing him.

sammy feeling SO much lower ranked than the other three at this point kind of hurts the whole concept of a four pillars story. honestly even jungle boy feels a little out of his depth in a main event program compared to MJF and darby.

during the MFJ/darby/sting segment last week i kinda liked the idea of thinking of a story that would make a triple threat title match between them make sense.

Agreed on that. Sammy still as a face gaining heat within the Inner Circle then challenging a world champ MJF I could maybe see it but as a heel it’s harder. Jungle Boy beyond Lucha and Christian because of that still feels rushed. Also skeptical Christian/Lucha might come back to revive that feud. Darby with or without Sting is by far the most natural contender especially given the past history with him and MJF.

Yeah I figure the main event of the next PPV is a 4 way and the underneath match is Anarchy in the Arena between The Elite and BCC.

Yeah Elite/Hangman vs full BCC with Bryan has to be the way to go there.

If they do a Fatal 4 Way, I’d say Sammy or Jungle Boy eats the pin to leave a MJF/Darby singles match next PPV.

Well the next PPV after that is Forbidden Door so judging by how last year's card was put together I doubt there will be any straight NJPW vs NJPW or AEW vs AEW matches on that show.

After that is Wembley Stadium and as much as I love Darby I'm not sure about that being the World Title match there.

I’m getting tickets to the Wembley show so I’m very curious as to what they do with the title match. I do agree MJF/Darby doesn’t seem quite big enough for that. If Bryan didn’t turn heel, I would’ve said a rematch there. Maybe Omega/MJF if he gets out the BCC feud by then. Long-shot scenario, MJF/Sting? There is Punk but not sure if he’ll be back in the fold/Khan booking that for their show after last time?

FTR Bald is pushing for FTR and Punk vs Omega and the Bucks at Wembley, but a lot of people think that's just Punk's side trying to turn the Elite into heels in the public's eyes since every indication is The Elite guys want to have nothing to do with Punk.

Since Will Ospreay is English a lot of people are saying to do the Omega rematch there, but the way NJPW is booking it Omega vs Ospreay 2 is very obviously going to be the Forbidden Door main event whether it goes last or not. I sorta cannot imagine the US Title going on after a World Title even though it will be the bigger match.

It should be Punk vs. Omega at Wembley. That's their money shot. I'm not entirely convinced everything's that happened isn't a work. Meltzer is an AEW shill and would go along with it, and as he's the premier journalist in the industry everybody else has towed the line. Even if it isn't, it was all a load of handbags and they're all idiots if they don't work together. Omega and the Bucks are happy to work with guys with questionable backgrounds, but aren't with a guy because he got hot one time and had a scrap with them? Come on. These are adults. Get on with it.

    Omega vs. Punk
MJF vs. Hangman for the World title
Ospreay vs. Moxley for the IWGP US Title
FTR vs. Young Bucks 3 for the tag titles
Jericho vs. Sting - Career vs. Career
Hayter vs. Cargill for the Women's titles
    ZSJ vs. Danielson
Claudio vs. PAC for the ROH Title
OC vs. Jungle Boy vs. Guevara for AA Title

I think they'd do good business with that card. Sting's last match, Hangman finally getting his shot back at the title, the Omega/Punk bloodfeud, the tag blowoff, the biggest women's match in company history, a couple of dream matches, and the British world title challenge for PAC.

totally agree. top stars of a promotion who happen to also be the vice presidents of the company not wanting to work the program that is going to BY FAR generate more interest and business than anything else AEW could possibly do just sucks.

I wonder if they do MJF vs Adam Cole at Wembley.

In terms of outsiders I would expect Vikingo at Wembley. Not sure about New Japan guys just because of Forbidden Door happening so soon before it.

Other than we basically knowing Omega is defending the US title against Ospreay at Forbidden Door because of the mini tournament New Japan is running right now there is a lot in flux of who will be doing what for New Japan going into that show. Like I expect the big title matches at Dominion a few weeks earlier to be SANADA defending the World Title against Naito, and Aussie Open defending both the IWGP and STRONG tag titles against the Dream Team. Naito I fully expect to win. The tag titles could go either way. That effect Forbidden Door booking.

That's a really really good card. I don't like the World title match at all but in the AEW bubble you gotta deal with it.

i like how punk/omega gets pushed, as it's obviously THEE singles match to do, even though from most reports on this whole thing, omega had the least heat from the punk side.

i really wouldn't mind seeing ospreay/omega 2 at forbidden door, with will coming up short, play into his injury and the mini-tourny to get the contendership spot, with the rubber match happening at wembley with will finally getting the win, mere weeks after winning the g1 climax. ya carry that momentum straight on through to the dome show in january.

Punk v Bryan should be the Wembley show main event. I'm going to the show, it's by far the biggest match they could do, with easily their two biggest stars.

Was really interesting to hear Eric Bischoff say on his podcast that Tony should run Wembley show without Pink and pay him off.

No way he will do that though

I've said this from the start but I feel like I'm more angry with Punk for making me give props to The Elite for having the sack to confront him.

The fact that anyone thinks TK should just buyout Punk's contract and send him packing is beyond me. AEW already with some WCW shit. CM Punk comes in, already more over and a bigger deal/name than anyone in AEW by a mile. Nobody not even Sting came in with the hype and nobody has really delivered consistently. Even when we were wondering what the fuck he was doing wrestling Lee Moriarty types, it was still must-see i.e. Is Punk finally going to fuck with some top guys or is it more "working my way to the top!" shit.

Bischoff saying that is mindblowing. But I also respect that he knows that AEW is probably going to sell at least 50,000 as they're already up to what, 40k with pre-sales? Not sure how that all works but sounds like 40,000 fans will at least be there. That would be plenty.

Jake Hager debuted to the biggest pop AEW had seen up to that point.

It's an 80k stadium, probably more when you then put down floor seats. But 40k people aren't buying 1 ticket, so they might be close

We don't know how large a stage is being used or how many seats will be taken out as production kills though.

I know Foo Fighters have done 80-85k so yeah it's a tall task but still...Even if they don't draw 80,000 fans the way they set up the event it might not look odd.

Part of the thing is financially a wrestling show drawing 25,000 is a massive success no matter the size of the building. Last year's Summerslam looked great and was a massive success and the building was half empty.

I agree. Especially overseas markets that are HUGE wrestling fans that don't get too many big shows as it is.

Agree although that time Maynard subduing a fan who ran onto try and hug him and not skipping a single beat with the song was awesome.

Kinda hard to overstate the impact Summerslam 92 had here. I was at primary school at the time and managed to attend, just incredible. Bret v Bulldog was incredible, my fave ever

I'll be honest man if you liked stuff BEFORE that song you still have IMO 3 of their 4 best albums. The first 3 Foo albums are incredible.

I remember watching it here and it wasn't live but THANK GOD there wasn't anyway to spoil it for us. It was the only time my best friend and I got to watch a ppv with his oldest brother Greg who was about 15 years older and a HUGE Bret fan. Only he hated good guy Bret, he would also talk about Hart Foundation and how he first saw them live and they wore blue not pink. But he was 100% behind Bret during that match, as we all were. Except one dude, his boy Javi was pro-Davey Boy. Why? He was a British Bulldogs mark. So you had Greg and Javi, best friends, but also their favorite tag-teams were rivals and now 2 of them main eventing.

    Anyway that's my story lol.

I won't lie, I was a little erect watching Cole and Baker get the shit beat out of them and Cole cuffed, crying for his woman. This reminded me of watching Randy Orton take out the McMahons. Like all the sudden Stephanie was a babyface and nothing she did mattered.

Britt Baker and Adam Cole scream heels. But now that we're seeing the WWE's idea of Cole managing Keith Lee come to fruition I can't wait to see how this awesome story unfolds. What we need is to have Cole beat MJF so we can get Cole/Keith Lee defending the World title against Jericho and Daddy Magic, whoever gets the pin=champion.

It's the shot in the arm the industry needs. I thought it was John Morrison in the new Punch Out movie he's filming but nope, stick to the pizzeria Johnny Blaze.

Loved Dynamite this week, apart from that Cole/Baker stuff. Just don't work for me as faces, though I'm sure it's short-term, as Britt and Hayter I assume is where they'll go for Wembley.

Fun matches, good promos, on the and whole, and some development.

I'll likely go to All In.

Well you can't have a heel introduce new shows and venues for events, so it makes sense they made Adam Cole face.

How much? I'm honestly curious because saying he moves merch means what exactly? My best friend's band moves merch, I don't see them headlining any festivals lol.

In fairness, I'm being subjective. I saw him and UE on the WWE top sellers lists. And the shows I went to back then....there was a lot of Adam Cole and UE. Going to AEW shows when he was active, I saw the gear. Both companies produced a solid amount for him.

    I'm not saying he's spring 2022 HOOK tm .

But all the eye test i've seen had him in the upper group.

And this is certainly separate....but I've never been to show where he wasn't in the top group of crowd engagement.

So, specifically......an 8.3 on the Mazer Scale of Merch Movement.

I'm actually shocked Tony Khan hasn't tried to bring in Rufio and the rest of the Lost Boys. They could team up and battle Captain Insane-O in a 9 on 1 handicap match.

Maybe that's Tony's big announcement he has planned for Wednesday.............again...........What's better? Tony's announcements or the weekly Raw GM swap?

I enjoy Tony's social-media announced surprises incoming as much as I did the Raw General Manager incidents. It's "okay, here we fucking go again". Not that they've all been duds, but it's a lot of hype to constantly deliver to the point that it's overused and underwhelming.

Tony should spend millions to have Hook come out to Hook by Blues Traveler.

No one likes Action Reed, but we all love Blues Traveler.

Speaking of tennis, here is the seating chart for AEW in Wembley. It doesn't look like they're aiming to sell 90,000 tickets but I'm not negative to it. Curious how the stage will look.

I'll probably be at Wembley. See how the ticket sales go this time. For Clash at Cardiff, paid decent money for what turned out to be nosebleeds and much better tickets were available cheaper in the days before the event. Loads of people's seats were upgraded beforehand too, not mine.

Will keep an eye on how it's selling etc.

Seeing as tickets aren't on sale yet, as far as I'm aware, I assume ND is joking. Could be wrong though.

I’ll be heading assuming I can get tickets on time (unfortunately working the day they go on sale so might have to try during break times). If I fail on the day, hopefully pick up a re-sale on a later date.

What are the best pubs round Wembley area?

What time do they go on sale Badger. I will buy the tickets for you if I'm not working at that time.

Friday 5th May but I’ll manage something lol.

I have gone for the pre-sale offer so might get something early if I remember to check my emails.

If they book Big Cass vs. Satnav Singh, I'll buy a ticket and come.

I've signed up for the pre-sale. But no plan on getting tickets early. Will just see what happens.

As to pubs, I wish I knew! And I'll be there with my 11 year-old, so. Might sneak a beer in somewhere!

Don’t worry about it. Just wondered if you knew/been drinking around there prior.

    I’ll research.

Glad to hear Roderick Strong's in AEW now. I was worried I was going to have to see him back in WWE.

I've loved Roddy's work in the ring since 2006, but my gosh is he dull.

You just hit god-tier with that comment.

I was on IG last night and some of the comments were like "How did nobody know he was released?" and all this praise for his level of work and how great he is...Did they not see the irony in nobody, not even dirtsheet gods Meltzer and Alvin had a clue. Why? Because he's IMHO the most overrated wrestler of my generation. And that says a lot when you nerds know I've been watching wrestling for 35+ years. At least with Adam Cole I can go well, the promoters all love him so I'm in the minority. Or even Yuta, nobody is calling that dude fucking amazing (that matters).

Tony will hire anyone, won't he?

He'll be lost in the shuffle in a week or two after the shine wears off.

I like Strong but I don't think he is super great. Solid in the ring and fits well in a group where he doesn't have to do all the talking. But yeah nothing special in my view. He will have a nice little program with Cole against JAS and then yeah lost in the shuffle.

That's about 95% of AEW right now. That's why everyone is in a stable because there's only about 10 guys and gals who can stand on their own without all the extra cast and crew.

Is anyone just not feeling the MJF/Sammy pairing like I am? Someone posted that MJF had already peaked by doing that Iron Man match so early in his run and it's stood out to me that maybe they're right. MJF's reign has felt like it's been about 5-6 months already.

Yeah not caring for the pairing and this was a long way around to draw out things to get to the fatal four way.

I am not liking his reign as much as I thought I would. I think Danielson coming after him right at the start like Danielson did with Page didn't help either one of them and their reigns because you have some great matches with Danielson and then where do you go.

AEW badly needs to trim the fat on the roster. last thing in the world they need is another guy to work with. it's impossible for anyone on the roster to sustain momentum anyway and that's been the case for at least a year and a half now.

Aren't they dividing the roster up to be on two shows?

    Supposedly.

Well at least Strong is with the same company as his wife and they can work on Dark together maybe.

It's like on one hand it made sense, the whole Regal thing. On the other, that whole thing felt like it should've been the 2nd or 3rd angle in MJF's title reign. Now it's like, I'm waiting for SOMETHING. The whole situation with the "pillars" feels like an Intercontinental title feud back in the era of Jeff Hardy, Shelton, and MJF is playing the part of Carlito lol.

I think the reality is we need MJF v. CM Punk.
