I'm not the best person to ask these things since I only know WWE, but Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns and Johnny Gargano vs. Tomasa Ciampa should be considered for feuds of the year.

Rollins vs Ambrose. I know Ambrose only just turned but the next couple of months may be enough to make this a contender!

Best on interviews. Miz is definitely a contender.

He's exactly where he should be at this point. He's number one contender and been in high profile matches on nxt all year. What more exactly should they be doing?

Under pushed is Almas on the main roster or Gran Metalik on 205. Those guys should be way way higher up the card.

Someone who really is underpushed is Bayley. She could have been the biggest female face on Raw next to Rousey had all the momentum being called up and was put into an initial program with Charlotte but then they made her look piss weak against Bliss then a feud with Sasha where neither really turned and now stuck in the "Boss and Hug" Connection.

I dunno, in terms of what Aj vs Nakamura could have been it was pretty awful. Obviously this is all relative to ability levels etc and what you would expect out of a match like that.

I genuinely think he’s washed and was so his last year in NJPW too. Just to be on record if The Elite fucks off to WWE it wouldn’t hurt my feelings.

How can anyone look at AJ v. Nakamura at WM and think that was not only the worst match on that card, but the worst match of the entire year out of every match in every promotion? I don't care how high your expectations are. You mean to tell me Lana had a better match than either of them?

It's clearly a very flawed approach to naming AJ/Nakamura at Mania as a candidate for worst match. If you say like flattest match or overhyped match, then you're starting to get towards a more centered argument (though that's still stretching) but worst is a terrible suggestion. It was clearly hyped going into the event but I would think most people would say that the match was more about an angle rather than the match itself.

There's no way Styles vs. Nak from Mania deserves Worst Match of the Year. Yeah, it was disappointing and overhyped but it was still a half decent, serviceable match. But I guess you're factoring in the hype vs. expectation as the deciding factor for the vote as opposed to some fumbled up random RAW match with Dana Brooke or whatever. Personally, if we're keeping along similar lines, I'd readily give the nod to Reigns vs. Lesnar from Mania myself.

Veleveteen is my favorite guy in the company but I'll readily agree he's where he should be right now.

Almas, on the other hand, absolutely should be doing more.

Yeah Velveteen's fine really. I was kidding when he said he could be pushed more because I like him so much though he is main roster ready but I'm fine with him staying on NXT for a while. Though he's not in a feud think overall I think they've done a good job showcasing Almas. Right away he got to wrestle Styles and he's wrestle Bryan too plus got to work with Rusev. I think officials are high on him. I'm sure he'll get a program soon.

Two things. First I have no memory of that match whatsoever. Second you will never hear me say anything bad about Lana or Rusev ever.

You have no memory of what match? I'm not saying Lana had a match on the card I'm saying out of the entire grading period, for all promotions, all their shows, the 1 match that stood out as absolutely terrible was AJ Styles v. Shinsuke Nakamura at WM 34??? Was that the only match on the card you watched?

There wasn't a single Toru Yano match that stood out being worse than this one? lol.

It certainly wasn't terrible nor the worst. More like disappointing considering the high expectations with the people had.

And I think there's a major difference between being let down by a match and it actually being the WORST out of thousands of matches.

AJ Styles can't have a bad match. Can he have a match that doesn't live up to the high standards? Of course. But his worst match, imo, is still a good-great match in comparison to many many others.

Also I don't know if this would qualify as underpushed as such, but ever since Mania and the Carmella feud Asuka's push has screeched to a grinding halt. It's like they don't know what to do with her since Charlotte ended the streak. She's had a crap year.

worst feud: i can't remember if it happened this year or not but that mini sasha/bailey fued that went nowhere

and even though she may not be entirely deserving of it, could you classify Ronda for rookie of the year

That aside because I don't know who Yoro is, Nash is otherwise right. Styles/Nakamura did not live up to the standards yes but you cannot vote that worst match of the year.

i can't say i've seen them all but i don't think nakamura's had a match this year as good as yano's matches with ishii and zsj.

As disappointing as AJ/Nakamura was, the aftermath did result in something great. Heel Nakamura who's been on fucking fire since then.

There's been times AJ could've dropped that title. Nakamura, Rusev, Joe etc.

Not complaining too hard though. Reign might be long but the matches have been quality. Nakamura's bringing credibility to the US belt and it'll mean something when he eventually drops it. Plus Nakamura willnodoubt get a World title reign. All is not lost.

Heel Nak should have absolutely won the belt. I love AJ but I've gotta be honest, I'm getting a little bummed that he's not dropped it to Nak or Joe as they both could have really benefited (he could win it back, just give them a bit of time with it to show they can get the job done).

I can certainly understand that and WWE can get a bit much with "epic" reigns but at the same time when it does eventually happen it will will be a fucking big deal when it does happen.

I'm still banking on Miz. He runs in during AJ/Bryan then gets the #1:contender spot. Heel heat would be massive if he is the one to dethrone AJ and rubs it in Bryan's face therefore scrubbing the"two minute man" thing. Bryan though then captures the belt off Miz at alater date.

Can DB win his own award, lol.

I thought I was the only one who thought Jax vs. Bliss was the worst.

I'm not sure he's actually bringing credibility to the championship. How many times has he defended it since winning it?

Its not a memorial award. I mean, he's an active wrestler.

And yeah... that match was the drizzling shits. There was probably worse on some indie scrub show somewhere, but for a major company's pay-per-view, that match was the absolute dirt worst.

I meant Nakamura. He hasn't defended the championship that much.

You talked about Nakamura bringing credibility to the US championship and I was questioning that because it doesn't seem like he's been defending it very frequently.

Stephanie and her team did such a great job putting together the correct brand bullshit corporate speak culture that she was able to get billions of dollars for shows that have been siphoning viewers for almost two full decades, and has gotten to the point where they are losing money on their live shows. It is flagrant example of the bankruptcy of late stage capitalism, but for the purposes of this a damn fine job by her.

As far as WWE goes, Worst Show for me is without a doubt Crown Jewel while Evolution's a contender for Best Show.

New Day as worst gimmick seems strong for them.

Baron Corbin as "Constable" of Raw seems like one example that was more detrimental to the product.

    fair enough.

    I'm biased on 2 things:

My daughter finds them funny and laughs at their hijinx.

Kofi Kingston is fucking incredible at throwing pancakes. I was not prepared for that when Smackdown live came to Portland. Everyone else is 10 rows deep, and he's hitting second section up. One of the most random, incredible things I've ever seen. Couldn't believe it as I was seeing it.

Also, Baron Corbin actively worked to the detriment of the product on almost all segments.

I personally find New Day are not the best representatives of pancakes and Shrove Tuesday. First off, they're chucking the pancakes away instead of eating them. Two, most of those pancakes are going to end up on the floor and not readily edible.

Not the ones Kofi throws. Those will hit you right in the hands, even if you're in section 221, row N.
