I thought I read somewhere that Jeff might be hurt again and the reason they did the quick match was so he wouldn't have to get too physical. If that wasn't just speculation, we might see another nutshot tonight.

If so, Jeff is snake bit - he only just came back from an injury a short while ago.

I think it's only expected of a guy who is nearing 41 and has had a 20+ year career of high risk moves.

After “SmackDown,” on WWE Network, “205 Live” will feature Akira Tozawa vs. Lio Rush.

I'm not as convinced Sunday was an Orton heel turn, especially as mentioned above if Jeff may be injured. We could get dick stomp vs. low blow for the US title at Summerslam. Like I said in another thread, while I didn't watch much of RAW last night but opening and closing ten minutes, they set up these two shows off Extreme Rules as leaving so much to develop from the matches on that card. Sad. Dick stomping has suddenly been a reason to watch tonight.

I don't see how this isn't anything but an orton heel turn. he did the dick stomp to one of the most popular stars on in wwe.

It's almost like Jeff's body waited to break down until he came back to the WWE.

I thought Rush had potential in NXT, but I love this gimmick change and he looks so much more fluid now with a personality. Looking forward to the Tozawa match.

Drew and Cedric seems to be next on the cards after Drew's backstage promo. Cedric's had a good run but I hope Drew does it. Maybe throw in another powerpoint or two for a better205 Live.

I thought I heard somewhere that Hardy might have a knee injury, which makes perfect sense as Nakamura hit Jeff in the knee area after the low blow.

I would expect another low blow tonight followed by another attack on the knee if that's the case.

An Orton heel turn would be great; he makes a most unheartfelt baby face if every there was one....And note he did not "RKO OUT OF NOWHERE!" For the big pop but did the dick stomp to one up Nakamura the Heel...

Jeff Hardy just worked a full fatal fourway house show match last night in Reading, PA...
It was him, Nakamura, Shelton Benjamin and Rusev...

What happened at Extreme Rules was story driven...

Mildly disappointed that AJ won clean as a whistle but good TV match and the two were portrayed as being on the same level with AJ managing to lock in the crusher as a desperation move just as Almas had him dead to rites.

Also on leg that was injured earlier in the match.

The fact that almas comes out of the match looking pretty equal to arguably the best wrestler in the world is pretty damn good. Outcome doesn't matter.

Interesting match up with Kofi and EY

Feels to me like they both kind of came onto the national scene at the same time, both are vets we've kind of seen evolve, both super talented.

I thought it was quite funny.

They need to watch themselves though. This is the kind of thing that gets old really fast and then usually WWE doesn't catch on to that fact and suddenly it's 2025 and Nakamura is still punching everyone in the grapefruits.

Jeff Hardy defeated Randy Orton at Backlash, and that was the last time Orton competed...

Orton putting his finger through Hardy's ear hole is so gross that I dig it. Welcome back Heel Orton.

A little weird that he kind of yelled out "Where's Shinsuke?" while he was attacking Jeff though.

One has to hope the praising of Almas as the future of Smackdown actually has merit and isn’t a flat placation for the evening. The thing he has going for him is that he’s a heel and the company needs legit ones. Really good showing for him against Styles. They now have to add more to it over the next several weeks. If Nakamura wasn’t the champion, Almas probably could have had a shot at going after Hardy for the title at Summerslam.

Seems like they’re willing to go down the road with English/Rusev. Remains to be seen what the motivations will truly be for both parties and whether or not it’s a one-off for Smackdown or something they feel they can build to Summerslam. I’d be pretty surprised if it were the latter. I can’t imagine they have much in store for English after this plays out.

The easy out for next week is to run the trope of an eventual contender pinning the current champion. That’s what they’ve set up for Becky, but I think they just need to have Ellsworth interfere in the match. Becky still gets a win, a finish isn’t revealed, and you continue to harp that Carmella has the odds in her favor as long as Ellsworth is around. That’ll just make it that much more profound if Becky is able to scale the mountain at Summerslam and overcome the odds.

“SAnitY? More like unsanitary!” Good line by Big E, haha.

The condolence handshakes by Miz were a brilliant shitbag touch. I’m here for Miz/Bryan. If they want to incorporate Kane, it can just be easy sympathy, an easy target for Miz to go after it, and it keeps things moving with several weeks ahead of Summerslam. Will be interesting to see how that’s ultimately booked. If Bryan is going to leave, Miz is the appropriate person to get that win.

That beatdown by Orton was well done. The earlobe spot was definitely uncomfortable but effective. Seems like Smackdown has faces that work to prevent the paradox Orton fits within. He’s good at this stage of the game as a heel, but the RKO and his general presence gets a positive reaction from the crowd. There’s more characters for him to work off of to where he can get legit heat. I’d like for them to see to keep Nakamura out of the mix and give him his own feud, but I doubt that’s the plan right now.

Don't get me wrong.. I'm not ****ing on Almas here and I think he's great.. but that match to me just showed how AJ constantly makes his opponents look even better that they would facing anyone else.. while Almas puts on a fantastic match on his own.. being in there with AJ gives it that extra little bit that pushes him to another level. and I love it. This has been a constant for almost everyone I've ever seen AJ work with.. not enough can be said about his ability to enhance the other talent while also making himself look great and putting on a fantastic match.

Graves is an asshole and a bully.

I understand that he's the "heel announcer" but he goes too far. He's not as bad on Raw as he is on Smackdown. If I didn't know better I'd say that he and Saxton genuinely hate each other.

Almas and AJ was great, put Almas over strongly in defeat.

Also nice stuff continuing the heel turn. Badly needed and should be a grrat Summerslam bout.

Nice to see Andrade get some spotlight and hang with the WWE champ. Solid match with Styles that immediately puts him on the map. Hopefully it's followed up with something meaningful for Cien, dude is money.

Orton's back to being an Orton I can care about a little more than bland-ass babyface Orton. That ear grab was pretty brilliant.

Rush vs. Tozawa wasn't as good as I'd hoped. I expected them to get into a higher gear. My ideal cruiser feud for the belt would be Rush and Ali.

I've seen A LOT of crazy, stomach turning shit 30+ years watching wrestling. I've seen dudes get their nutsack stapled, I've seen dudes put in coffins and set on fire in Japan, but nothing NOTHING compares to what I saw Orton do to Jeff. FUCK THAT.

I wonder if that was Jeff's idea, and if Randy had to be convinced to do it.

I always thought Jeff was a crazy M-F'er and while I am not a fan of male jewelry, this was definitely a sick visual.
