We never did get the origin story of how Ted got his millions.

I almost forget Ted was actually a babyface in WCW I was about to say we never saw him as a babyface did we? But we did, with the Steiners which was so weird thinking back to it.

Actually yes. I think they called him that as a tongue in cheek response to Billionaire Ted.

Does CM Punk want to come back to WWE? Dude's almost 45, I doubt WWE would want him.

Not a bad time for it to happen when she's already been on a lengthy break after a previous lengthy break and a not-much-to-it return and the guy she was teasing an angle with is also on the shelf. Hope all goes well.

    Carmella is also pregnant.

They should really turn this into a storyline, for the both of them. Who's the father? We the viewers don't know, multiple wrestlers claim over months that they are the father. You can even get Ryan Capybara and Corey Graves involved, insisting they are the fathers and feud with other wrestlers claiming. In the end, it turns out Vince McMahon is the father of both babies.

If they were to do something like that, then they should go all out, and have another couple guys we love get involved. One, who's also been on the shelf, will return and claim to be the father.

"My Bad" , from R-Truth himself.

Then cut to Ron Simmon's and "Damn!"

Not sure what would make him Ricochet 2.0. He's not much of a high flyer.

He's not much of anything tbh so I don't really expect this to be a momentous signing.

Yeah he is not really a high flyer. I mean think this is a good move for him because I think he needs some work. In the ring he is not bad but needs work and also needs work on his promos and stuff. So yeah not really a big signing or anything because he is not going to be a big splash in NXT right away or anything like that.

Usually when people talk about card placement they're not calling them "lite" or "2.0" What does Seth Rollins Lite even mean if we're taking status on the roster?

Here's the thing with Pillman Jr. AEW made him look like a fucking idiot. If that was his idea, shame on AEW because the guy looked awesome before he was in AEW. If anyone saw his baby feud with MJF that lasted a week or two he was coming out looking cool, not like some dork from a teen comedy in 87. It's sink or swim time. He'll go to WWE, get polished up and hopefully he'll do something special. Pillman Sr was a guy who all my friends put in our top 5. Flyin Brian was awesome, Loose Cannon was awesome. His death was devastating to us. My cousin went to the same college Miami of OH they had a shrine for this guy. It'd be great to see his son pull off a fraction of what he did.

WWE/NXT have some really solid 2nd-3rd gen wrestlers.

Ah, that's fair. Though, I'd argue Ricochet is doing pretty good for himself right now getting into a highlighted program with Logan Paul after a solid build into MITB with Shinsuke and Reed. But I get what you're saying.

Overall, I'll be happy if Pillman Jr. proves me wrong or gets good improvement from this. But I don't expect to see notable results any time soon. Though I'm happy for him to still have a job.

Looking forward to Pillman Jr in NXT. He could hide weaknesses in a tag team but he really wasn't improving. Maybe with a little bit more training and being brought along slowly he will do well. I don't see it as a big loss for AEW or a big gain for WWE/NXT.

I don't think his wrestling was the problem at all in AEW it was the stupid ass gimmick and being positioned so far down the card, rarely being used on Dynamite/Rampage. They were never booked as a threat. If they were going for the Tom Zenk/Brian Pillman approach they definitely achieved that. He would've been a great guy to slide in that Wheeler Yuta spot or Daniel Garcia spot with Jericho after the House of Black turd feud ended.

I really enjoyed this, thanks for the recommendation. I followed up watching this week's special episode of The Bump, as it was Kayla's last week. The Heyman spot, and the Bayley interview, were both really good stuff.

Commentary teams are changing or changing days:

Raw will be Cole and Barrett.
Smackdown will have Cole, Graves, and Patrick.

Makes sense to figuratively and probably literally downshift with Patrick. He really hasn't shown anything to make you think he's really ready for the spot as lead commentator.

It's amazing how Michael Cole was, for so many years one of these least appreciated voices at the booth. My tolerance for Michael Cole over the last 20 years has turned into great appreciation. His pairing with Pat McAfee and the job he did calling the Cruiserweight Classic really made me go y ou know what, this guy isn't as bad as he used to be.

I'll be honest, I don't like him being on both shows. Vic Joseph is someone who should be in KP's spot but I think some feel like his first main roster run at the booth wasn't that great despite him not being ready for that role. I don't know what it is about that Raw play by play announcer spot that just hasn't been able to work out properly, really since Jim Ross. Mauro was awesome, but he wasn't mentally ready for the bullshit. Sadly. Vic Joseph is great in NXT. I don't know who Kevin Patrick fucked behind the scenes. Maybe he's been the one leaking all this Vince stuff idk.

Smackdown is leaving Fox and going to USA.

Sounds like Raw and NXT are leaving USA. TKO stock has taken as of now a 10% hit on this news.

Ultimate Warrior wrestled Vader 16 times.
He also wrestled Kamala at least 13 times.
He wrestled Papa Shango one-on-one 51 times.
He had one-on-one matches with Nailz, Ric Flair, and Sid Justice.
He fought The Undertaker 61 times.
With The Legion of Doom, he tagged against Demolition 31 times, plus once against Crush, Smash, and Randy Savage.
He wrestled King Haku 8 times.
He also toured extensively against Randy Savage, Rick Rude, Dino Bravo, and Andre the Giant.

This was all news to me.

EDIT - I want to see the ones with him against Kamala or King Haku most of all.

Also, he had wins over both Barry Horowitz and The Brooklyn Brawler.
Outside of WWF(E), he wrestled Abdullah the Butcher, Nord the Barbarian, Jack Victory (hey!), Bruiser Brody, Chris Adams, Jim Duggan, Steve Williams, and Tracey Smothers.
His battles with Hercules and Ted Dibiase were extensive as well.

An IWC Twitter user buying Val Venis' lapsed trademark and repurposing his name for trans rights initiatives has to be one of the best things the Internet has ever delivered unto us

It's sad because I remember 15-20 years ago thinking this guy was cool as shit for being a pro-marijuana advocate and then something happened where he lost shit and became this weirdo breed of sovereign citizen meets frauditor meets ultra conservative.

At this point I'm like, CTE.

A douchebag but blessed with talent.

It’s like The Wire if you ever watched it, like Wee Bey’s son Namond landing lucky despite being a douche yet nicer and more deserving people don’t succeed.

Life just isn’t fair sometimes lol.

Becky Lynch may be retiring according to her IG post:

    “It’s been a helluva career.

Being the man for you was an honor, being the mom for her is a privilege. Thanks for watching my bio on @AETV.”

Hmm, it‘s a bit open-ended. It could just be her reflecting on her career, plugging her bio. It might also mean she might be returning soon to be a full-time mother.

Edit - Apparently wore her book as an outfit for a few weeks so might just be a plug. That’s where I was leaning but opening sentence a little confusing.

Think you're reading too much into it. Seems like she's just plugging the A&E bio to me.

I think her referring to being The Man in past tense might be why some fans are thinking she's calling it a day. That's kind of how I read it but then I thought it might just be the wording. I mean she's been wrestling a long time and I wouldn't be shocked if she called it a day. Get out while you can.

It just seems worded that way to reflect her current status. She was The Man but she's not right now as she's currently outta the biz and just momming. I don't think there's anything else to it but I guess I can see how it could be read that way.

    It’s the past-tense wording.

I was 55-45 on it and was leaning plug but yeah it’s caused some confusion like on her Instagram comments.

Maybe something simpler like a cheap IG plug and saying she may be back could’ve helped.

You can only imagine how social media in general is reacting to her post. We're back to "Rebecca Quinn is going to show up *insert upcoming AEW ppv*" type nonsense.

Word on the street is WWE will be snagging Lucha Bros, Ricky Starks and Daniel Garcia. All incredible talents that would no doubt have immense success, more than what they got in AEW. Lucha Bros were always captivating, Daniel Garcia is still young and upcoming... but Starks, he is someone that has mega star written all over him. AEW just never knew how to build momentum w/ him.

    Exciting signs, if they happen.

Despite AEW having billions, there's still a ceiling, especially with the fact they have bunch of "names" on that roster so it's tough to truly breakout. I know WWE has tried to sign Lucha Bros, especially Pentagon several times over the last 10 years.

They did pretty good with Starks at first and kept him on tv when he was injured and what not and then yeah at some point they just went meh for some reason. I think with Cody over in the WWE I can see him jumping over if he is not happy.

I think people are still expecting Garcia to sign back with AEW.

I love the Lucha Bros and I am always done for beefing up the tag division but I worry they also get lost in the shuffle in the WWE like some other teams have in the past. We shall see where they land.

I think Lucha Bros are already lost in the shuffle in AEW and have been for a long time. If they actually go to WWE it will be very interesting because Penta is someone I've wanted to see make that move since Lucha Underground folded. I never really knew about him prior to that or Fenix. It's like Ricky Starks, there's only so much AEW is going to give them and they're not going to be main eventing for the World title anytime soon so why not?

Garcia will probably re-sign with AEW. He'll no doubt make more money if he stays. He'll probably wind up closer to a top tier program than he would in WWE, if we're talking the next 2-3 yeras but who knows.

RIP to Kevin Sullivan. Say what you want about the Dungeon of Doom type stuff but 1996, when they really started to transition back to wrestling with real life intertwined, he was a guy that kept me tuned in to WCW. My intro to Kevin Sullivan was the whole Hogan-EVAD storyline. i might've seen some stuff of his with Varsity Club and just don't remember at all. I was a fan of that over the top shit though with Hogan and Savage in the triple cage fighting Sullivan, Flair, Bane from Batman and Robin, etc. I didn't like all of it but 1994-1995 was rough all around for mainstream US wrestling.

Benoit/Sullivan was fire. I had the benefit of having 3 older friends (say 5-6 years) from the neighborhood that took me in and let me watch wrestling with them. I remember one of them telling me his 3 favorites were Pillman, Stunning Steve, and Chris Benoit and at the time not really understanding WHY. Dude was very high on this feud and this was also during the start of the nWo so it was very cool and understandable why WCW took over in the ratings. Sullivan had a lot to do with the nWo booking as well.

Absolutely. And while I don't want to minimize that, I'm hopeful that the improved programs will help make it so we have more folks who live out healthy lives like Afa, and less of the early deaths that are still too frequent, but at least seemed to be even more frequent 15 years ago.

Afa actually suffered from pneumonia and had two smaller heart attacks, before the one that killed him, back in January.

Loved Sid. My favorite memory of Sid involves one of my best friends Mike. He was the biggest Sid fan ever. I remember we were watching that ECW ppv and Sid shows up. This man jumped off the couch and started crying tears of joy. He was shadowboxing the air and everything. We used to fuck around with each other and leave answering messages in the voice of Sid. WELL YOU SEE MY FRIEND was the start and we'd just ramble about nonsense.

    THE MASTER
    THE RULER
    OF THE WORLD

The only reason I ever watched that show Big Brother was to see if he would show up because his son Frank was on a season. Sure enough he did and thank God Frank was eliminated early on because that show fucking sucks balls.

When he showed up on RAW and faced Heath Slater, i was so fucking happy that night. I wanted him to make more appearances. His theme song is my most played theme, according to last.fm haha. Love all of it.

His beat down of Shawn the night after WM 11 was the absolute best.

Sid had one of the best looking powerslams ever. RIP to a legend.

I'll have to check out some clips of him doing the powerslam, but man he had the best powerbomb out of anyone.

Honestly there’s a lot of good powerbomb candidates. Guys like Sid, Vader and JBL had impact. Taker gets points with the Last Ride for height.

Nash was more of a release and gentle drop in comparison. Besides the incident with Big Show in WCW who was way too big to take it anyways, Nash’s seemed safer in comparison but not as visually impactful as others.

Remember the talk of Sid returning to have a short program with John Cena? I'm too tired right now to google but I think the rumor was confirmed but it never came to fruition. I want to say it was after that Heath Slater segment. He still looked good.

As much as I love Nash, I always found some of his Diesel powerbombs to be very lackluster. He didn't really do a traditional powerbomb like you said it was more of a release. He perfected it though when he got to WCW. The powerbomb he gave Goldberg to end the streak is the best powerbomb in wrestling history-IMO. There's obviously strong arguments to counter that opinion but me personally that is peak powerbomb.

Sid's powerbomb was the cleanest, consistently looked good, I might actually admit it's the best but I'm not sure. But again, in terms of how it looked, idk if anyone had a nicer powerbomb. He was so big too that it just looked absolutely brutal and he never seemed to have trouble doing it either. He hit Diesel with it like he was nothing.

Nash’s powerbomb on Goldberg was likely Kevin working stiffer than normal, two massive egos who probably were butting heads backstage.

Also Goldberg wasn’t the safest worker, so probably some heat from that…

I think one of the last updates about Sid's career was that he could not return to the WWE for a full run because he could not adhere to the wellness policy because of the medication he was using for the pain from his injury.

    Rip Sid.

I like the Jackknife. Something about the way Nash would just toss someone away always looked cool to me. I was big Diesel mark though. I think one year my tiny ass went as Diesel for Halloween.

Is the Razor’s Edge considered a power bomb? Because if it is that’s the coolest power bomb in wrestling by far.

Mike Awesome had so many different variations, though it helps to have Joey Styles on commentary
